    People who are saying “why are you putting so much money and work into an escort” or “why are you building an escort” clearly haven’t driven one before or pushed one to their limits because they handle pretty damn well and are fun to drive.

    Man, thats some shenanigans right there. Addressing weak points and basic maintenance are 2 different things. Bent wheels, gauge clusters, bushings, tires... if you have coolant issues, maybe start from the radiator next time. Also, dont leave everything for the last moment, you wont be stressed out and there will be no drama. Otherwise admiration for your dedication. Have fun on the track, best of luck and fast lap times.

    Idea for fixing those inserts on your manifold: Take any old super glue, coat/fill the inside generously, and scoop some baking soda onto any exposed glue. The baking soda will instantly cure/harden the glue, and hopefully set them into the plastic well. Also, I have to say that this video and your car have seriously inspired me. Looking forward to more!

  • @aaronboggs5799
    @aaronboggs5799 6 лет назад

    One tip, having done a few track days and run into this issue myself: you will want to relocate your car number to the door panels.
    The folks doing tech inspections should have caught this, as glass can break in an accident and track officials need to be able to ID your car quickly in the event of an incident.
    Anyway, love the videos guys - keep up the good work.

    Pretty pumped to see someone else taking a Zx2 and making a track car. I race in an amateur racing league which is somewhat competitive. I modified the OEM struts and added strut inserts/coil overs, added caster/camber adjustment. Dropped the overall ride height by 2-3” and went with 245/40 200 tread wear. Had to tweak the strut tower and use longer ball joints. Camber is about 3 dregs in the front 2.5 in the rear. Removed the front anti sway bar. Then the motor blew. But the car handles unbelievably.

    To prevent the bushing from binding you should tighten those bolts at ride height. So tighten the ball joint and use a floor jack and a block of wood under the control arm keep lifting with the floor jack until you see the vehicle start to come off the jacks supporting the chassis. Or measure spindle to fender on the ground and duplicate that measurement with the floor jack.

    you could have got a $5 thing of super krazy glue, the kind that instantly bonds. i used that stuff to glue a shell ejector in a .22cal magnum pistol i made from an old cooey barrel held for few thousand rounds of 1800fps loads. so if you krazy glued those nuts into the manifold they would never be coming back out.

    I’m building a 2002 zx3 with the zetec full race car. I’m building it turbo here in Florida. I used to work in a race car team so. I have quite experience in the construction of a race car. You may can help me. Which throttle body are you using? How did you do with the cams and sprockets? Did you drill those and put something to do not make them turn? . Do you know what I mean. It’s kind of hard to explain lol. English mu second language 😂
