Kevin James Labrie has aged badly in his voice. And he has caused so much BS in Dream Theater, I wouldn’t mind seeing him hit retirement. Let the boys (Petrucci, Portnoy, and Myung) run the show again, as it should be. FYI, LONG TIME Dream Theater fan since the first album. I was there for the music, and vocals weren’t key. God, You choose to not let me play like Petrucci, but I get it. (sobbing into my guitar strings) LOL
I went to this show in Los Angeles. I came as a Dream Theater fan, but left as a Devin Townsend fan as well. Dude was amazing and hearing that power on this song was icing on the cake.
You should check out the video of Devin's rendition of his own song Kingdom at EMGtv (which I'm sure you've already watched and are unable to answer because you're still struggling to pick up your jaw from the floor)
Petrucci just has the complete toolkit.. Absolutely blazing proficiency, and the most epic soaring feel.. I'm forever in awe when I see him live (11 times now).
What a show!!! I was blessed to be able to be there that night. AAL was a great opener. Devin Townsend was unbelievable...what an entertainer! And DT was awesome as always!!! 🤘 🤘
Absolutely adore this version of the song. Unlike some commenters here, I love how James sounds live (saw them in February of this year, in 2020 just before the pandemic, and 2017 before that), but it is really cool to hear Devin sing some of the lines. Very awesome!
@@pikchslail550 Yeah, lockdown was kind of a shock to the system. I saw them on their first show in the Eventim Apollo (they played two night so that they had extra footage and audio for Distant Memories). That was the last live experience I had for years. A shame, but tbh it was an excellent show.
It would be too much power and too much awesome in too small of a space...our planet would implode, causing a massive black hole that would grow and grow and start to reverse the Big Bang.
Just so epic, love the contrast in the voices. It’s just so good!! Both Labrie and Devin singing together is something I never knew I needed in my life. Wish they do more stuff like this.
I was lucky enough to be there for this and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I appreciate you recording the whole thing so I can relive it!
It’s not all about the nice piece they put together… but the joy they spent with each other it seems .. yes they should’ve done more collab 👏🏾👏🏾👍👍🤘🏾 See you guys together sometime again #staysafe❤
I thank you profusely for this video. After watching it and missing seeing the show I’ve vowed to see things I want to see whenever possible. Everyone in this is incredible and I’m extremely mad at myself for not seeing this tour live.
What a difference it makes to be that much closer to the stage....on the same night we sat right in front of the soundboard techs and all we heard all night was drumset from all three bands...people around us were leaving because the sound was so badly managed.
Honestly, the last few years dream theatre has not had the best live mix. Their FOH engineer is an old dude and probably has lost hearing. Mix probably sounds great to him but to a young guy like me it was just muddy. Hopefully they get a newer, younger FOH engineer soon and their mix can improve.
Everything I’ve seen with devin and tosin from this tour seems like those two guys really get along well. Imagine a project with those two…I might need a cigarette.
Hey John what about if we get Tosin to come out and play guitar with you? John: that would be really cool Hey James what about if we get Devin to come out and sing with you? James: *profuse sweating*
It doesn't sound mean, just different styles. Personally for me Labrie in the 90s was the absolute perfect singer for DT, but nowadays his talent level is just no where close to the others on stage because his voice is just completely shot.
What the hell are people talking about with JLB being finished? The high part after the solo was bang on. Also, holy shit the Townsend rendition of the bridge is outstanding.
I like how nobody noticed the drummers switching so many times. It was seamless always. What legends!
man labrie isnt a bad singer but devin next to him feels like the coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb meme
Get a dude that can sing in tune and he's already better than Labrie
I don't buy into AI, but in Labrie's case I fully support real-time AI vocal correction (the new Auto Tune). Come on DT no one will know....
This is my favorite comparison comment by far. 😂😂😂😂
Thats James labre??

I have been having a shit few weeks, this has cheered me right the fuck up! These guys should tour together forever! Devin what a man!
I hope it will get better soon, (knock on wood).
Devin's vocals are so strong that he comes across as an opera singer.
Two good ol' Canadian boys singing their asses off
Petrucci just has the complete toolkit.. Absolutely blazing proficiency, and the most epic soaring feel.. I'm forever in awe when I see him live (11 times now).
that guitar duo at the end was beautiful
You know you have some monster guitarists on stage when you put David Gilmour on keys 😁
He's playing slide guitar not keyboards.
@@DBADER111758 ??
@@DBADER111758no the dude on the right plays hammond. jordan is playing either slide guitar but more likely a synth
Y'all dumb. They're obviously playing marimbas
I got it. I thought the same thing.
A+ so happy this was shared these two bands performing together is like finding a unicorn what a phenominal performance 😢
Well, that brought a huuuuuuuuuuuge smile to my face. So great to see Devin and Tosin with them.
So much talent on one stage.

Devins drummer its so amazing
So good!

Also saw them in Feb 202 just before the pandemic, I believe that concert and the Sunday one were the last live ones before lockdown.

Devin fronting DT would be amazing

God I love Devy' scream at the end, it kinda gives another meaning to the song. Fucking amazing
this is the new "comfortably numb".. absolutely epic with Devin and Tosin live!
For 30? years, Devin has been singing (screaming) like a fucking GOD with sign of wearing out. You keep going Bro, keep that spirit going!
getting sober has probably really helped with the longevity, he is a fucking beast of a musician, and a class act of a human being.
Loves this band,, Dream theater ..,awesome..yeah..\../

This has to be the joy of playing together some people seem to talk about! ^^
I seen them last night in Phoenix Arizona and they were absolutely awesome

This is incredible.
devin can show up in any gig and make everybody look like they arent working hard enough lol
Amazing grace, into the spirit carries on.. just a perfect combination!
Would love to see Townsend and James sing the astonishing together.
Impossible to watch without clicking the like button.
ABSOLUTELY EPICCCCCCC! These people bring us some much joy!!

This is so cool , thank you for posting 🔥
Amazing !!!!! 🎧🎸🎵🎶🎼✨✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravooo !!! TOP 🎸😉🤘🏻
This whole show looks like it was so much fun
Devi's gotta be one of the coolest and funniest guys to be in a band with, I'd bet.
This is the best thing i’ve seen in my life
That was incredible.
I love how Devin gave his new signature pick to LaBrie and told him to give it to John
Awesome vocals, Devin Townsend!!
Saw them in Orlando, with eyes full of happy tears during this..Thanks for sharing!!

@@steventurner1628I can attest to that. I saw them in february for the first time, and the mix was actually awful enjoyed it none the less.
Amazing ufffffffffffff 🤟
Gooze bumps guys … Toni & John
I kinda feel bad for James Labrie, he just got sung off the stage by Devy. James's voice seems completely shot at this point.
It's a fatal tragedy hearing James these days...
I like how you focused on the harmonizing boys here and I focused on that incredible devy scream
The dueling guitars were fan-fucking-tastic this may be the greatest metal tour of all time
Petition to replace James Labrie with Devin Townsend
Portnoy and Kevin moore 😂❤
No way please be me
No way
DT is more than a band. It's a family. DT's members gave JlB their support when he got his vocal chords broken, and they still give it to him.
So done with LaPoof and Mangini (love the Guy but he’s no MP)
There's no money that could pay for this. Amazing.
I didn't know Tosin could play that slowly and with such feel. Awesome.
if you can play fast, you can also play slow. it's the opposite that's not true 😉
@@dedalomusic that's not true. I can play some stuff blisteringly fast that I can't play slowly well.
@@ButBigger42 Well someone needs to practice more then... and I'm guilty of that too
@@dedalomusic you've missed my point....
I was honored to see them !
This was a fantastic show for 30 bucks lol, crazy price to see these three bands.
Epico todo, todos se pusieron el tema a cuestas y asi resultó,brillante
john petrucci slowly turns into leeland sklar
the moment devind just stands in awe of pertrucci playing the solo, i mean the guy is no bad guitarist himself. sais it all really.
My god. I hope that this isn't just a one off thing, and I'll get to experience it live in this lifetime... Awesome recording!
Everything is incredible here. Mangini swapping drums in the middle twice is unrecognizable ...
petition to see Tosin do more boomer bends
Everything I’ve seen with devin and tosin from this tour seems like those two guys really get along well. Imagine a project with those two…I might need a cigarette.
When are we gonna have a Devin Townsend and Myles Kennedy duet? We should be so lucky….
Hey John what about if we get Tosin to come out and play guitar with you?
John: that would be really cool
Hey James what about if we get Devin to come out and sing with you?
James: *profuse sweating*
I'll be seeing then tonight.
Rule #1: Don't ever lose focus during this solo
Amazing grace intro - nothing like a good ol christian hymn to kick off an amazing song with introspective lyrics
This feels like the grand finale of prog metal
Olha o Devin entrando no DT kkk
Do you think LaBrie does StitchFix? Like, "send me the most hilarious clothes you can find!"
Pls, Devin, join DT! lol Goodbye Labrie! xD
No way. I love dev, but James still does a excelent job in DT.
Change of drummers during the song???😮
Maybe Mike had to go to the bathroom?????🤷♂️😂
Por favor James, deja de desafinar!!!! Sin ser irrespetuoso, seria genial D.T. con Devin!!!!
Where is John Myung?
Tosin Abasi plays 6 string guitar O_O
I think Abasi is missing a few strings..
4:22 I thought Bruce Willis had dementia ...
Who is that drummer??? Its not Matt Garstka
god forbid if anything happens to la brie in near future,i have a suggestion of who is going to be their next vocalist
after reading comments labriw would be like ...why did i allowed this to happen lol
Nobody mentions Dalid Gimour in keyboards 🤷😊
James L. is good here
Anyone else hear how much harder Darby hits than Mangini?
(Not saying one is better or worse)
2:36 IFFFF AÏE DYYYYE TOMOHOHROHHH
This is gonna sound mean, but if Devin played with Dream Theater, I would actually listen to Dream Theater. :-D

Mike mangini sick??
Dream Theater songs with Devin ???? TAKE MY MONEY !!!!!!!!
Sorry I missed this show. 😑
LaPoof < Townsend
So many bald headed dude in one stage
What the hell are people talking about with JLB being finished? The high part after the solo was bang on.
Also, holy shit the Townsend rendition of the bridge is outstanding.
If you're talking about around 6:38, that's Devin, not James.
Devin is a much better singer.... Great gap between them....
Hagrid playing guitar like John Petrucci
Era pra ser o Mateus Asato na outra guitarra.
Never understood these guys keeping a singer that is that out of tune all the time
Damn Labrie is sad. Dt keeps him around out of loyalty not skill..
James still proving he's the weak link in DT.
Just terrible. God, since the beginning of the video I cringed hard. lol
@@selim6033 Enough to make a drummer quit. lol

James LaBrie sucks
