    Your jack-hammer idea was a good one. You could probably call it a mini-micro excavator. Love how you find ideas to overcome problems.

    Nice job on the machine guys. The trenches look great. Nice and flat!

    Thank god for the machine to dig trench. Just think when it’s all done couple cold beers on pouch and life will be good.

      We definitely could not have done this without the excavator! We are dreaming of the day, when we can enjoy that cold beer on our porch! ☺️

    Your digging backwards!! Use the blade put down for a stabilizer to keep excavator from rocking up and down when you dig! George Zeroles Phoenix AZ. 🌵

      @@georgezeroles2477 I’m definitely still learning how to use this little excavator. I did put the blade down behind the machine to help with the digging not dragging me forward and stabilizing.

    Street 'els' save you from having to cut shorts for bends and joins.

      @@douglasthompson2740 I wish I could have found street elbows in stock. Our big box stores up here (HomeDepot and Lowes) didn’t have and 4” schedule 40 at all, pipes or fittings. Only thin walled 4” pipes and fittings, for sewer. We had to go to a plumbing supply store and they were unfortunately out of street fittings in 4”.

    Are you running your solar lines in any of these trenches also? I might have missed you saying it if you did 😊.

    • @Benthitchfarm
      @Benthitchfarm  2 месяца назад +2

      @@Deerhavenoffgridhomestead yep. We will run the main power from the solar room to the house in one and run our pv wire from the panels to the barn in another. 😊

    @rixtrix11 3 месяца назад +2

    I know you have the room, but doesn"t having everything separated by hundreds of feet add greatly to the cost? Don't be afraid to extend the stick when trenching instead of working so close, especially when starting the trenches. Our son says it's great that you're a "dragger" and not a "curler" when filling the bucket! You're also one of few who use the boom pivot feature of small excavators! Lotsa work; kudos to both of you!

      @@rixtrix11 Thank you. I’m definitely learning how to use the excavator and it’s so much fun. The barn is about 50 ft away from the house. We tried to put them as close as we could and still make it aesthetically pleasing for placing our rainwater storage tanks and some landscaping. The cost definitely adds up fast!
