The cinematography, effects and camera work on this movie are just _gorgeous_
The scale is great. You can definitely feel the enormity of the Star Destroyers and the Death Star.
If you've seen Godzilla you know how well Edwards does scale.

Everything feels so...real. That's what makes this great. From the Death Star orbiting over a planet to an AT-AT getting hit with a rocket launcher, you _feel_ this. It manages to be both inspiring and gritty at the same time, and that is beautiful.
Don't forget the vistas
Now this is a "war" film. Imagine the ending of this film. The rebels get the death star plans thinking their mission is complete only for Vader to come in and wipe most of them out.
Or they all celebrate by going to Alderaan oh wait....
at that time alderaan hasn't been destroyed yet
For real this would be amazing and shock everyone

You know even if Vader was murdering them I couldn't help but smile
It's such a small thing, but having prominent characters with accents other than American and English is awesome.
Captain Cassian Andor(Diego Luna's character) is already my favorite character in the movie tbh.
The shot of the star destroyer moving through the Death Star shadow was fantastic because the ship lights look like stars until it moves out and into the light.... So beautiful.

I loved your reaction. I just wish I felt that way about the Star Wars universe. I'll watch the movie as I have watched them all, but I just don't get the hugging, crying, orgasms the true fans do. I was a teenager when the first movie came out and it should at least bring some nostalgia. Maybe the prequels made me disconnect. Hopefully Rogue will rekindle my fandom.

Besides the Vader reveal, my favorite part was the star destroyer appearing from the shadows of space.
Also its 34 years between Episode 4 and 7, so say Luke is 18 in Episode 4, he would be 52 in Episode 7. If Jyn Erso is 28 by a New Hope, she would be 62 in Force Awakens. So its entirely possible that some of these characters could still be alive for Episode 8 and 9.

No, that' s not what the story is about, well, at least not entirely. It' s been reported that this is just one story of many between the 20 years of episode 3 and 4. This is the dark ages, jedi are being hunted down. Darth V. is in his prime. And, it's been reported that they are loooking/casting a young luke skywalker, cause these stories will somewhat coincide with episode 4 as well,

this movie is like star wars games i use to make with my friend out of imagination. it feels like the ultimate fan film. i feel like i played that movie as a kid. truly awesome.
I have to say that the shot I love most is the eclipse shot. That is another way to show the sheer size of this weapon. Amazing intimidation tactic as well. This weapon will blot out the sun! So amazing.

Great reaction/review guys! Yours one of the first (of many) that I will watch! I think there will be one more Rogue One Trailer for sure. Probably in October (just like they did with the 3rd & final Trailer for The Force Awakens last year). And I think in that trailer we will actually see Vader in action & it will be insanely awesome. Can't wait.
Guys, don't count Vader out of being the person in that Tie-Fighter that confronts Jyn Erso at 4:09 in the trailer. Remember, Vader showed up riding on top of the Tie-Fighter during the season 2 finale of Rebels.

I was waiting for you guys reaction this trailer is absolutely perfect I cannot get over how incredible this movie looks everything from the music to the cinematography it's giving me that war film feel like Edwards was going for say what you will about godzilla but Edwards knows how to film and absolutely gorgeous looking film and that shot at the end Oh my god December is to long lol
I always feel like the build-up and hype for an upcoming movie is always better than the actual movie itself.
