Gives the opening of ANH so much more meaning and is still the only film that shows Vader at his most savage. It's also the only film in the series to show the true cost of war on both sides. Amazing film that I am so happy got made.

Of all the new Star Wars movies, including episodes 1-3 and 7-9. This is my favorite. I love how unapologetic it is. Yeah, everyone dies. But when you watch the original Episode 4, It hits harder the sacrifice of the rebellion. It's powerful how much these characters cared for the sake of others to give their own lives. And with no fucks given.

I feel like its up there with the best. Empire Strikes Back has been my favourite for over 30 years, then came Revenge of the Sith coming a close second, then this movie came out of nowhere really, I was like imma go watch this new Star Wars movie I really like the cast if anything the acting will be good. Have seen Diego Luna in Narcos, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker, Genevieve O'Reilly, it just looked great. I remember sitting in the theater my mind continously getting blown by how good this thing was, feels like OT Star Wars but not copying, just duing its thing and also includes new fans with the ship and characters from Rebels. Then the story got dark really quick, people were droping left and right and I was so hoped but doubted (Disney and all that) that they will have the ballz to go to that place ( killing off the cast ) and man when they did it I was so happy. It had to happen, they set it up so well some miraculous escape would've been the worst ending I could imagine. Then the Vader scene happed and I loved it, and at the end it tied into episode 4 so well I could not believe it. After it ended I was just sitting there baffled. Watched it 5 more times in the upcoming 2 weeks lol. Not counting the animated stuff ( which is just outstanding ) this movie is by far the best thing they made since Disney took over. Right up there with the best.

I know it’s probably my second favorite of the movies, after ROTS, and I know during an interview Hayden Christensen stated this was HIS favorite movie of the franchise. It’s raw, gritty, dark, and the stakes seem high throughout, all coming to a crescendo as you see all the main cast quickly being killed off at the end. An amazing movie and definitely a milestone in the Star Wars Saga

The Mandalorian completely destroyed everything about the cool mandalorians and made them be boring bounty hunters without any difference to normal bounty hunters. Ahsoka at least not destroyed anything on this scale and reintroduced Thrawn in an okay-ish way.

When this came out and I watched it, my 50 year old self and my 9 year old self were completely satisfied. Nothing didn't make sense, and many things we surmised were in Rogue One. Sure, it loses some impact if you don't already love the original trilogy, but just how it's so emotional, there is so much that just doesn't end well for so many. But still in the end, there's hope. Hi Stef!😊 People have criticized the weakness in the first death star for years. It was nice they found a reason for that. Also, we get to see the construction of the death star took many years, as we see a young Jyn Erso when they take her father. Plus, it would make sense they would test out the death star on smaller targets the whole planets while it was tested. "The Shawshank Redemption" is actually part of a trilogy of films from writer Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead). The other two films are "The Green Mile" which you have reacted to, and "The Mist" (2007). I think you can figure out one of them is a horror film. Nice reactions to probably the saddest Star Wars film, Stef!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

Great reaction Stef like always there are some fun facts about itRogue One is the first major Star Wars movie to avoid an opening crawl. Gary Whitta ( did draft one, just in case they needed it. Ultimately, the creators decided not to use it, and Kathleen Kennedy explained the lack of crawl distinguishes films like Rogue One and, later on, Solo: A Star Wars Story from the mainline movies. And another fun fact the look of the background characters in this movie was Edwards’ idea as he urged all the extras to grow out their sideburns and mustaches to fit the 1970s look of A New Hope. Much of the set decoration and costumes were created to be as close as possible to the Original Trilogy film. Cassian Andor’s right-hand man after his loyal droid K-2SO is Ruescott Melshi, who led the ground assault on Scarif. Melshi was played by actor Duncan Pow who got the role with a bit of luck. Pow worked on this film as an assistant to the casting director early in the film’s production. He even helped with some screen tests and scored a small part originally as an unnamed rebel pilot . It was Donnie Yen's idea for his character Chirrut Îmwe to be blind. Gareth Edwards gave the actor room to explore and try new things with his character. Yen based the concept on the character of Zatoichi, from one of Japan’s longest-running film series, who is a blind masseur and swordsman.
And Rogue One team had different roles and names. Jyn Erso was originally a rebel commando and, at one point, a sergeant. The other team members were a rebel pilot Ria Talla, Dray Nevis, and Jerris Kestal. K-2SO is the only character that kept his name, though he was originally a protocol droid. But in the final cut, Jyn was not part of the Rebel Alliance military and was recruited to help find her father. This change was so late in the process that several Hasbro Black Series figures of her were released that still had her listed as “Sergeant Jyn Erso.” Keep up the amazing work. Can´t wait for you to dive in more to the Star Wars universe.

Make sure you check out Andor. It has the same feel and maybe even more grounded than Rogue One. It's a series that fits in perfectly in this universe. It expands it and doesn't feel like a fairy tale. The writing, characters, acting, and production are right up there with some of the best series out there. It is more of a slow burn but the pay offs are exceptional. I like Rogue One for the war movie that it is. Its a rag tag team of spies and fighters trying to complete a mission. IT's what other people were doing aside from the small group we always see.
Good to see you getting emotional at the end there. It's how a lot of missions go in war and the loss of lives and sacrifices the soldiers face are more grounded than anything we see in this universe. If you watch the Andor series, I'll join you there.

Originally it was supposed to be Red and Blue Squadrons in the OT, Blue wouldn't work with the Blue screens. They put Blue Squadron in this but had them wiped out to explain why not in A New Hope.

So, high emotions throughout. Hard not to right? It's sad that everyone had to die. And, especially for Jyn because I think she had such a profound effect with this movie and the audience. They should have kept her alive because I would have liked to see her in another SW movie. We just loved her role in this. 😢❤ Thanks Stef! 😊

K2 throwing the grenade behind him and not looking at the explosion was the ultimate cool-guy moment of this movie. 🤣
"There's no horizon." Best line in the whole movie. 🤣
Is nobody gonna mention the sudden outfit change in the middle of the reaction?
"I will trust her with my life"...Leia!
    K2: "Impressive"...Me: Most impressive
"This is Red 5, I need help!"... *Blows up* ...Then Luke takes over in ANH.
Why did they kill K2?!?!?! This is outrageous. It's unfair!
I am DEFINITELY afraid of heights, like, badly.
Jyn had to continue up simply because she didn't have a choice to mourn when she thought Cassian died. :(
They really killed everyone off. The music made it even more sad. This movie really showed the price of war. 😭

When you started tearing up mid way i was wondering how you would manage the ending😬 this is my favourite of all the post 4-6 Starwars and pribably only nostalgia keeps it from being my favourite. It also returns Vader to the badass that should be feard rather than the light weight from episode 3.

NICE! I've seen the original when it came out in the theater 🎭 and many films 🎥 later I think this is one of my top 3! Haven't read the comments to see if it was mentioned but the character Chirrut is played by Donnie Yen who stars in the IP MAN movies, highly worth watching! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎

if rouge one went with a lil more practical effects i would say that it is the closest movie to the original 3 ... feel and tone reminded me of the originals , the great graphics kind of throw that feeling off of the originals but def much more so than star wars 4 - 9

The screenplay for this had to be really difficult to write when they considered that every one of the main characters had to die at the end. I had trouble with the end also until that moment when you see Princess Leia. Then it all comes together. Love it. Even with the sacrifices.
So glad you watched it. Be sure and watch Solo also. You can watch it anytime during the series. But it is important to a large set of individuals.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
