Can you please explain how u removed the 2 impossible screws from the top, Did u beat them loose ? Or did u make a cut in the centre to fit a flat screwdriver ? I am now at that point and dont know how to proceed.
don’t take off the airbag or steering wheel as soon as you take off those plastics 3 screws (use t25) then take off the security screws with a chisel, desconect 6 cables underneath ( steering column module, airbag connector, reader coil, another 3 connect it with ignition module) just cables, take the part off, replace the whole cilinder(silver part) connect the original key with the black part (ignition lock) remember to transfer the key lock solenoid to the silver part, when you put it back make sure the key is in the on position that way the steering lock is down. Short: take off 3 screws right left 1 underneath, take the plastic off, deconnect the cables underneath, replace the silver part for a new one, switch the black part where the key goes to the new barrel use a Allen wrench or clip 📎 yo removed it, this is the most difficult part the rest is easy, ouch down and down until that back park go off.
How to remove the plate that is under the Switch is that my friend's is a bit strong and I'm afraid of breaking it, I don't see any lock or clip that visibly stops it

@@DanielH I didn’t get a new lock, just the steering lock, fitted old immobiliser to new steering lock. Steering lock just came with ignition switch and no immobiliser
This exact same thing happened to me yesterday when I finished my shift. I can't afford a new barrel, do you think I can fix this stuck one ? Key won't turn to ignition.
In order to be able to take take it apart you need to rotate the key in the barrel. Don't force it, back and forth, tray gentle taps until that loose piece of metal let's you rotate, take apart, find the problem, put it back together and might work. You need a lot a pacience, i took it apart and put it back together like 10 times until I got it to work. It's a lot of small pieces that only go one way. Also i cut the immobilizer because I was afraid of not getting wheel stuck at high speed. Might as well look for a used barrel, here we have used parts and they are kinda cheap.
@@DanielH I'm in the uk and the cheapest is 70£. Figured If I take the whole assembly out then it's easier to tap and rotate, because now I tried to tap the key with the end of a screwdriver and it doesn't do anything.
About those (security) bolts with heads sheared off. Nice technique, using chisel or sharp screw driver to loosen them. what size are the replacement bolts. Would like to get them before I start. Great video, super helpful, Thank you Mitch
I took the old cylinder apart and there was a loose chunk of aluminum that blocked everything. I didn't filmed that because it was a lot of work and frustration because I had to put and start again over and over again. If you change the cylinder you will have 2 keys, one to start the engine and the old key to unlock the car.
A good sharp screw driver and hammer to make a mark and be able to rotate the screws that hold the ingnition start in place. They are round head with no way to turn it.
For that bolt I used a hammer and a screw driver. Gentle taps until the flat screwdriver made a place on the screw head and then used that to unscrew. Was a little time consuming

It's called a XZN triple square M12 (12mm) spline bit. They have 12 points that fit inside the bolt you're trying to remove/install. They usually come in sets from M4 to M18 or larger.
@@DanielHyou can clearly see in the video there is no need, you have enough space for every screw. Show me one point/one screw which made you uninstall the steering wheel, just one ☝🏻
There are some RUclips videos on how to take apart the whole thing. Unfortunately I didn't film the process. It was stressful and I had to spend a good amount of time until I put it back together.

Using a flat screwdriver and a hammer I gently beat on them until it made a small gap and was able to turn them, after that I used normal hex screws

Check other videos, there are two holes (long and narrow) where you insert something inside to loosen the clips.

I make a small hole with a drill and then insert a torx.
The steering wheel lock can be removed without removing the signal and wiper levers. Success.

I had the same issue but you need to try until you can turn it. I tried a lot of times until I could turn the key.
Your new key does it come with a new transponder cip....how can the immobilizer system reconizeses the new transponder in the new key
Some electric guy told me if you change your cylinder, you'll have to use 2 keys. Your old key to open the car and new key to start it.

I repaired the old barrel. It had a broken piece of metal that didn't allow it to rotate. Works fine until now

Poți lua cipul din cheia ta și pui in cheia ce vine cu contact. Asta daca nu merge varianta cu cheia lângă contact.
