You can't compare Pink Floyd with any other group. They are from another galaxy.
Well, at another level we got Jimi Hendrix ;)
@@tech4u2022Same thing... different galaxy... lol.
From a different dimension...
That's why they will always musically relevant just like Bach and Beethoven
@@davidwalker5054 Good point!
Every guitar wants a David Gilmour for Christmas.
😂😂
One of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
I am 63 years “young”, and the first time I scored tickets to a Pink Floyd experience was 7/4/77. To score tickets you had to go to Central Park, to the big lawn, and wait for the Pig blimp to drop “lottery” tickets. If you were lucky enough to get one you could buy up to 4 seats at Madison Square Garden. We did. I was 16. It was an amazing experience and not a concert. Thanks for your great reaction ❤️
I'm 64 and I was luckily enough to see floyd doing Dark Side in 75 one of the high points of my life
❤
J'ai 61 ans et j'ai vu Pink Floyd en Juillet 1977 au Stade Olympique de Montréal, Québec. Meilleur spectacle à vie pour moi !
Pink Floyd was my Dad's favorite band. When he was dying we put together a slideshow of his life with this song as the soundtrack. First time I ever saw him cry he was so touched.
What a beautiful act of love, surely he was a great person.
Thank you Michael he was a great person. Shine on you crazy diamond!@@michaelkorsten1066
💗
Waw, having had the chance to do this and for your dad to have been able to enjoy it.. , great act of love & kindness. I held my mom's hand while she was dying of cancer last year. I never wanted to leave her side so she wouldn't have to die in an empty hospital room, like many do these days. Be well & my sencere condolences for your loss.
Thank you so much @@alainvosselman9960 ! I extend my condolences to you as well. To take care of your Mom like that you are a great person. Try to remember the good times.
Pink Floyd is a class act. All are exceptional musicians and singers.
Love your reaction to my favorite all time band. 65 years old and a fan since the 70s. Cheers from the US.
What a GREAT reaction! Half a century later, and I still have PF music in my car ready to play. My young grandkids appreciate their genius!
MOST Beautiful & Most Best Reaction EVER!!! To one of THE Greatest Songs Ever!!! Thank YOU so much for making my day Brighter!
Each musician significantly impacts the song, yet each gives space for the other to shine.
Love your love for this music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I paid 32.50 to to see that show in Houston Texas.
I saw it in KC, MO. I can’t remember how much tix were but I had the VIP floor seats. Phenomenal show. Also saw them in 1988 in Pgh, PA.
You are beginning to see. This music lives is the minds of every 50 to 80 year old person in the world. That grandpa you see on the corner with his walker ... that woman in the grocery store holding onto the cart to sfeady herself.... all those people LIVED this music and it is never far from our minds. We gave it to you. Its yours now.
I saw Pink Floyd live three times. also the Pulse concert in Cologne in 1994. So it's been thirty years. Nevertheless, you never forget these moments. Anyone who has ever experienced Pink Floyd live knows what perfection means. After that everything else is just music. Pink Floyd, on the other hand, is art
I caught The Wall in 1980 at Nassau. Perfection
Awesome ! I went to Devision Bell introduction concert here in Belgium, i believe it was '96.
@@alainvosselman9960 i think you was in Werchter. That was on the 02.09.1994
welcome to the world of the multiple eargasm
I love David Gilmour's finesse on the guitar. Such smooth but restrained power seems to just float from the strings his fingers manipulate. Almost like a predator that just ate every bite of his meal and looks completely relaxed but in reality is ready for any surprise that requires an immediate response.
This song is about Syd. He was an original member, singer, guitarist and song writer. He unfortunately took an LSD trip and never really came back. RIP Syd!
Pink Floyd is in a class of its own!
Your joy brought me joy. Enjoy the Pink Floyd rabbit hole
Oh we got our monesy worth. I think I paid 38bucks....stook in line at 3:00 AM to be the first in the box office. Got center stage 7th row......This event will always be seared in my memory. It was not a concert, but a spiritual journey.....and floyd is better live they they are in the studio.....and their studio work is impeccable.
I've been a huge fan of Pink Floyd since my early 20's. I am now nearing 72 and still a huge fan. I have followed their music since they first started.
The saxophonist switched from a baritone sax to a tenor sax. The musicians were masterful in switching from slower tempo to faster tempo then switching seamlessly back to the slower tempo very smoothly.
Your reaction is pure joy to watch!
I was there! This concert was the Division Bell tour of North America & Europe. When this concert was performed at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, I was there. I cannot articulate in words the feelings I had during this performance. It was like my soul was transported to a higher dimension. I recall shouting and almost crying "This cannot be real! This cannot be happening!" I'm so grateful for RUclips providing the means so that those who were not there can get a taste of this life changing experience.
your reaction gives me soo much joy i cant even express
These guys have captured the meaning of life and have been sharing this since long before my days. I seen them here in Belgium for the Division Bell concert... There are no words except maybe : over succeeded, musical perfection. And your listening experiences age like wine. When young it's just awesome music but as you get older, touched by life, happiness, sadness, gain & loss and all that has passed.... it becomes really super-emotional listening to them.. in an awesome way.
Literally one of the greatest songs ever!
Pink Floyd is a great band to see live , it’s a experience you can’t compare to anything
You mentioned the ladies doing the backing vocals , you should do a reaction to “ a great gig in the sky “ i am sure you will love it
I've never met a person who cannot acknowledge that Pink Floyd is and will always be one of the greatest bands ever to bless our ears.😊❤
that is what I love about pink floyd. they just prove they are on of the best
Oh I have! There are plenty of people who find them dull, overblown, overrated; and who reserve particular scorn for drummer Nick Mason, saying he's stolid and unimaginative. I think they're wrong, but they're out there - and this includes people I know who otherwise have great taste in music.
Right? His guitar is like a voice - as the human voice is also a musical instrument ❤
It’s not just super talent, it’s soooooo beautiful.
I’ve heard this brilliant song very many times since it was new and I think you’re right about this too: this concert seems particularly epic, partly BECAUSE so many years have gone by and it has become even MORE recognised and appreciated as brilliant - the audience KNOWS they’re experiencing greatness.
Come on you target
For far away laughter
Come on you stranger
You legend
You martyr
And shine
I had Wish You Were Here played at my husband's funeral
easily the best concert ever and iv been to a few
I was at this concert. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. You are right about the bass, you could feel it in your whole body. The whole gig washed over you, it was phenomenal!! Sam Brown was one of the backing singers. She was amazing too.
The "trumpet" is actually a saxophone.
He swaps from a bass sax for the lower notes to a tenor sax for the higher notes.
The keyboard parts are played on a synthesizer.
Synths have been around since the late 60s and became very popular during the 80s with bands like Depeche Mode, Human League and Gary Numan among many others.
I had a few myself, a Roland SH09 a Roland Juno 60 and when they went from analogue to digital I got the obligatory Yamaha DX7.
Think of them as a piano that you can get any sound from including wind, helicopters, explosions etc.
I've been a multi instrumentalist for over 50 years, so if you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to fill you in.
✌❤🇬🇧
I believe that’s a baritone sax and then either an alto or tenor sax. They look so similar it’s hard to see. My son’s a saxophonist and plays alto for the most part; although he can play all of them.
@@Kristina-jf4hd sax is a very expressive instrument.
I don't know how old your son is but I hope he keeps going with it.
I've taught myself 7 different instruments which comes in handy when I'm in studios.
Wish him luck and good fortune from me.
Us artistic people are hardwired different and not many people understand how our brains work, including ourselves.
✌❤🇬🇧
The Wonderful Tribute to founding member Syd Barrett. He was forced to rerire and leave the band due to health concerns.
His story is so very captivating and tragic.
Welcome to the world of Pink Floyd. Enjoy the trip
I was 18 in 1973, graduated high school to the young Pink Floyd (after Sid left) and saw them perform Dark Side of the Moon in Madison, WI in ‘74. One of the highlights of my now 69 year old life. Imagine having this music as the soundtrack of one’ youth. This is what we had in the 70s. We were so lucky!
Tampa 94 was the rebirth for me as well another 75000 Sisters and Brothers 4sure. I love your reaction, You deserve to call a PinkFloydian.
I just ran across my ticket to the 1994 concert in Miami. The ticket was $35. It was the first show of that tour.
The beauty of Pink Floyd's music is that you can hear each instrument individually and clearly. It's not just mixing, but the architecture of the songs that allow everything to breathe properly.
Le plus grand groupe de tout les temps 🚀
Long after the remaining members of Pink Floyd are gone people will be praising their music.
I saw them in Oakland I believe it was the Division Bell tour.
Best damn concert I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to many.
Richard Parry (born 22 December 1942) is an English saxophonist. He has appeared as a session musician on various albums, most notably in solo parts on the Pink Floyd songs "Money", "Us and Them", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and "Wearing the Inside Out".[1][2] He also played on the Bloodstone album Riddle of the Sphinx.[3]
I caught Dick with Dave and Rick in 2006. On an Island tour at Radio City. Crazy good show.
Think you enjoyed that! love your reactions. you clearly love and appreciate music.
Great reaction bro. I like 'Keep Talking' also of Pulse Concert by Pink Floyd. Congratulations!
R.I.P. Syd Barrett
Great gig in the sky same concert. Won't be disappointed.
Please consider allowing us to share this entire concert with you? From start to finish..
Look for the young man playing the bass guitar.
React to Comfortably numb from the same concer Pulse.🔥🔥🔥 pink floys is untouchable
Sam Brown in the middle is the daughter of 60s singer Joe Brown. Sam also had chart success as a singer in her own right.
Wellcome to music
The instrument you were looking for the name for was a saxophone, and yes the Pulse concert was utterly spectacular.
Cheers! Was good to relive this with you. One of my all time favorites, along with Time. Peace be with you.
I saw them twice, Animals and The Wall, back in the 70's they are amazing live!!!
Welcome to real music.
Pink Floyd intors are always long as they want to put you in the right mood for every song/.
Yes, that is Rick Wright on the keys. Maybe the Mellotron. Dick Parry on sax (holding 2), has been playing with PF for a long time. Loved your reaction!
Dick Parry es un floydiano más del grupo....es un saxofón 🎷 mágico cada vez que toca con el grupo y si fue por mucho tiempo....
Larga vida Dick Parry
Keep the Pulse coming! Great reactions! Many more to go!
This was a phenomenal concert! It was so good I had to see it twice! Shine On is a masterpiece! I recommend you listen to original recorded version as well, parts 1-9. David Gilmour is a guitar god that when combined with Rick Wright and Nick Mason, doesn't get any better! These guys have an insane amount of talent as a band and individually.
RIP Richard Wright. He is missed!
New prescriber because ya'll are listing to Pink Floyd
you just get it :D you get excited at exactly right parts :DD haha means u get it i mean musically yep Gilmour is virtuoso and a genius
Always nice to see your reaction, I saw them in Montreal in 1994 for that tour..
With lots of substances.....out of this world, life changing experience
"Pulse" concert I was there It was amassing just like the band. Never forget....
60yrs old had the pleasure to see pink flloyd im overjoyed you get it makes a old man very happy
I enjoyed your reaction, may I suggest that you check out the entire Pulse concert, I believe you will enjoy every minute of it, I'm also pretty sure that you will have those goose bumps from start to finish, Please continue to see how far the Pink Floyd rabbit hole goes, it's a journey that I'm sure you will be glad you took, God Bless.
Man you got it right. The pulse tour as extraordinary. This is 30 years old, the Lightshow was the first that was computerized, anything like this had been unheard of before (and has never been pulled up ever since, at least to my knowledge). If you loved this: check out „Comfortably numb“ (best guitar solo ever played on this planet), „High hopes“ (nostalgia keeps you speechless) or „Great gig in the Sky“, which especially features the 3 backing vocal ladies! And yes, everyone who was lucky to have witnessed this in person tells his grandchildren about it…!
I freaking love your reactions
Your right, a concert that would ( and is ) remarkable one of the best or decades, next year it is 30 years ago, and the song is even played for 55 years in concerts
Genius level stuff😊 they take you places….we should let them every time.😊
What an awesome reaction
You're right,I was there and I still talk about it
Well done! Great reaction!!
Glad you enjoyed the Floyd:)
Amazing reaction as always man
Idk if you've already listened to them but you should listen to Comfortably Numb and Time by Pink Floyd as well
For the sake of me i can't understand why people don't see how it's a complete effort by Richard,Nick everybody on stage not saying David guitar playing is nothing but out standing, the lighting the hole fking production.
Pusle has to be the # 1 concert ever performed. I'm so jealous of those who saw it live.
Must hear the studio version
I've run out of superlatives. There are no words left. ?
That was an amazing watch my friend 🤘❤️🤘
Been listening to theses Guys since i was 6 years old im 56 now never gets old the true meaning of music .....
Each song alone was well worth the ticket price.
I saw Pink Floyd 5 times starting with the Animals tour. I've seen a lot of shows by some of the absolute greatest. Pink Floyd had the best shows. Tied for second would be Rush and Supertramp.
masterpiece , kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk since 70s
This reaction made me tear up a little bit, I will admit! Please continue!!
That's the plan!
I saw this concert twice. First time in Cleveland and then in Pittsburgh
Now who in their right mind does not love good sax.
A reaction I like
Dick Parry on sax, you can also hear him on "Us and Them" from the "Dark Side of the Moon" album, as well as "Money" from same.
I was at this concert in Chicago and I can attest to the fact that we certainly got our money's worth... And then some!
Those are called "musicians," bc they are masters at multiple instruments.
In stark contrast to those today who call themselves musicians, but are not.
Backing vocalists are brilliant - they get solos in Great Gig in the Sky at the same Pulse show. It’s a must-see.
You where like a little kid at times there 😊 yes, they are an experience 👍 I was 14 when I first saw them, 1974..😮😂 I consider Floyd, E.L.O., Genesis and Supertramp as the Modern Classical music of the 20th century 😊
One of the greatest tracks ever written. Loved ur reaction
Do 'Sorrow' next please 🙏
Quite the reaction I will say
What a fantastic reaction. Want to hear some early Floyd listen to See Emily Play
You got to listen to the whole album wish you were here the dark side of the moon and watch the musical performance/ film the wall
I think you would enjoy the second half of the album version of "Wish You Were Here"
I you like jazzy/funky.
Such an enthusiastic Reaction! Bravo!
Pure masterpiece you can not go wrong with pink Floyd i have seen Australian pink Floyd which are the next best thing to the original band and a bonus it was free ticket of my mate
