    Hi Susan,
You explain that these rings typically shrink by 1 size during assembly. I have 3 questions if I may ask, please:
    1) Is the shrinkage on account of the number of times the ends of the wire are wrapped around the shank during the finishing stages with 20G wire?
    2) Is it due to the ring mandrel's conical shape which requires the maker to size up by one number and secretly hope the concept of average band diameters above and below the center stone make it a near-accurate fit?
    3) Considering the 1 size shrinkage with 20G wire, how much upsize should be considered for 18G and 22G wire?
Thank you for the smart and creative videos!
Extra credit test question (j/k): How much upsize allowance would be needed if the end of the wire was wrapped around the entire grouping of shank wires?

The thing holding it is called a third hand. You can get them at Michaels I think. They have a good mandrel there too!
