I saved this link a couple of years ago and just now made a ring. Didn't have the round wire, but used square 16g copper wire. The paddle ends didn't work so I just swirled them, then proceeded as you show. It came out WOW! Just goes to show a little ingenuity goes a long way when you have such a good design to start with. THANKS!
Muy bonitos sencillo y fácil de hacer gracias por compartir tus creaciones saludos desde Reus Tarragona España chao.
I love both shinning and Oxidized...What a great teaching voice .. very cool rings
Beautiful rings, thank you for this tutorial, great work!!
Can’t wait to try this
As I’m learning I’m sure patience and practice will be necessary 🙂
Loved making this ring .Thank you susan ...
You always do such a great job! Thanks for your skill and enthusiasm.
I think I'm becoming addicted to your designs Susan. I watch you ever chance I get. I DVR them and watch them many times. ❤❤❤ these rings.
Thank you for the tip of rounding the ends then paddling them. I like that effect.
I like your ring, easy instructions watched 3x.
Now I'm. Going to give it a shot !
Awesome!
You are amazing! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you videos! You explain everything so well!
Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed making this ring that I ended making 3 more with different colours of beads. Thanks for a fun and easy to follow tutorial.
What size/shape beads did you use?
Thanks, dear, love your teaching videos, always easy to follow! Beautiful little ring 💟
Nice week 🍃🌹🍃
I love LOVE your channel, but in the description for the size of bail shaping pliers you said 6/8mm. I got 6/8 mm and very small for this.
I think you meant to say 16 or 18 (instead of 6 or 8)
But I loooooove your videos and learn so much!
I wish i would have known about the wire rounder before I purchased the manual version.
Is there a video that shows how to oxidize the metal? I would love to see the silver ring you had on your pointer finger and the multi layer ring you had on as well in a close up photo. They were hard to see in the video. Thanks for this great project idea!!!
What about a bypass bangle ? Would love to see you make something like that
Love the simplicity of your design!
Love your directions and explanations!
Great teacher. Wrinkled shirts are RAD.
Love this! Simple enough for me to try. Thanks for sharing!
thank you, i will do this ring, i love watching you jtv, great job
Where are your classes??? I would love to hang out and craft 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice ring.
I have different size wire rounder bits for my dremel. I would leave it shiny.
Sooo cute Susan, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Super cute. I am going to whip up some tomorrow. Thank you.
You are best I enjoy from your art and learn too thank you sooooo much
I love these rings. Can you wrap the beads before you round the ring! I love oxidized copper. Thank you.
Hi Nancy! No, you want to form the base of the ring first and then wrap beads last.
You are the best!!! I have learned soooo much from your videos!!! Thanks
Thank you for watching!
Great video! How did you oxidize and how do we keep the ring from turning our fingers green? Thank you!
Hello! The oxidation process should happen before the beads are wrapped on and you do this by adding a few drops of "liver of sulphur" to a cup filled water (we use a Styrofoam cup and recycle it after use) and then, dropping in your ring. You can let it sit in the solution for a few minutes. Liver of sulphur works best on copper or silver wire. A quick internet search should get you what you need, but be sure to follow the directions so you know how to use it safely! As for keeping your fingers from turning green, we recommend cleaning you jewelry often and try to stick to metals that are non-tarnish like "silver over" or "gold over" a base metal. Parawire makes a great non-tarnish wire for jewelry making. Good luck!
I have used clear vinyl floor sealer (liquid) on bare copper and it holds up pretty good.
jtv is out of most of these supplies with the wire is it soft bare copper wire do you get anti tarnish? Also on the bail making tool with the 6 in 1 give me the right size? These are so cute!!!! Thx a Bunch
Hello! You can go with and Artistic or Parawire in a tarnish resistant silver tone. Here is a link for a 20ga wire: www.jtv.com/product/20-gauge-round-wire-in-tarnish-resistant-silver-tone-appx-6-yards/PWW002K?mcid=XSOjsyt

The Bail shaping plier is called a large wubber and is a 12mm and 15mm tip size. A quick internet search should yield some good results!
How do you oxidize it? I like that look.
She uses Liver of Sulphur Gel XL.
Love your viseo! May I know which type of wire to use? Half hard or Dead soft?
The 14ga wire is heavier, so it will be a half-hard wire. The 26ga wire is a light wire and is used for wrapping. It will be a dead soft wire.
Thank you! I will have to wait for next money due to budget but am looking forward to getting the equipment to make these rings. I love them!
Would you please let me know the size of the wubbers bail making pliers you used. I see that they have many sizes and knowing which size you used for this project would really help!
Hey Shirley! They are 13mm.
@@JewelSchool Okay, the X-Large Wubbers round pliers are 12mm - 15mm and the Jumbo Wubbers round pliers are 18mm -21mm. So are you using the X-Large pliers?
@Jackie Loos Okay, so here's the thing. I think that they are using the X-Large pliers in the video and I bought the Jumbo pliers. They work pretty well, the only thing is that the end "paddles" seem to wrap around too far around the finger. Does that make any sense? Lol it's like the "paddled ends" seem to wrap almost under my finger instead of laying on top. I could probably just cut less wire? I have found this project quite difficult, especially the "paddle" part. My paddles always seem to come out sharp and pointed and also too long. And I purchased the "wire rounder" as well as the chasing hammer. I guess I just need to keep practicing. Hope this helped! ☺
I have 20 gauge peacock titanium. Also gold field but for my earrings I can only ware surgical steal titanium and gold also trying to do copper & magnetic hematite and cause of enlarged nuckals I use ajustable rings when I put magnets on I noticed after having them on awhile they do fit looser
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing,AND Easy, congratulations!!!!!
Thanks for sharing ❣️
hello love the ring what size bail is it
These are the XL wubbers that have the 15-12mm bail shapers
Brilliant job👍👍👍👍
Does dead soft cooper wire make your skin green? Or does oxidising it stop that? Thanks 🌟
Hi! LOVE YOUR VIDEO!! I'm just starting to get into Jewelry Making using Wire, Beads, Stones, Hemp, etc... I've recently started expanding into Rings & am so Excited to make this. 💕
However, as for the Supplies needed for the "Bypass Ring", what size Wire would you recommend or did you use in your Video to add your Embellishment Beads?? I assumed it could be anywhere from 26-28g Wire, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the Designer (ie. You). 😊 Thank you so much!! 😘😘😘💕💕💕
Hi Erin! Yes, 26-28 would be easiest but definitely depends on the size of the beads you are using to embellish. In the video she uses 26 gauge.
great tutorial. are those Wubbers the jumbo ones?
I like shiny metall. Good tutorial. Thanks.
What size bail making plier is being used for these rings please?
Thank you you are awesome
What do you use to prevent oxidation if you want to maintain the natural copper color?
Hi! A coat of clear acrylic spray should prevent this. Here is a link to a great kit that includes this from JTV! www.jtv.com/product/finishing-kit-incl-buffing-blocks-liver-of-sulfer-gel-protectaclear-spray/JMKIT591
Hey Susan, hope you are haviing the time of your life in Hawaii ! Have you tried
Nice tutorial! How do I shrink a ring by a size?
Hi! Susan used 3 inches of cut wire to form a size 7 ring. Try cutting it down by 1/2 inch or so and see if that won't do the trick!
I like these rings but I have to say that the curly q on the sides are going to be problematic if you're putting your hands in and out of a sweater or any other fabric that will catch. Is there another way that these can be finished without the curly q?
There are lots of ways to finish handmade rings, including snipping and tucking the ends into the little nooks and crannies of the ring. Give it a try and let us know how it goes!
hope i get this question out b4 my laptop boots me out! So i got a bench block and chasing hammer and when I tried using it, the wire seemed to have a whitish residue or coating. I tried 2 different wires and same thing, It is 20gauge parawire that purchased from jtv as part of an assortm.ent of multi pack. Do you khow what this could be? should i be washing wire b4 handling? Thanks!
Hi Michelle! This is from Susan: Parawire has a tarnish resistant coating and if you over hammer it the coating will come off. It is really only meant for very light hammering and no texturing. If you want to make a ring that needs to be hammered a lot try bare copper or sterling silver wire. - Hope this helps!
@@JewelSchool thanks susan, that makes sense! thanks for all you do!
Thank you. Great explanation.
Can the beads be glued on?
Give it a try! I think the type of glue will determine if and how long the beads stay on. You may want to consider using an un-drilled bead for aesthetics. We've never tried it, but please let us know how it works out!
It looks like you are wearing brass versions of these also. Did you buy it oxidized or did it turn naturally?
will your finger turn green with the copper?
Hi! Wearing copper jewelry can cause your skin to turn green due to chemical reactions. To prevent it coat your jewelry with a jewelry sealer like this one: www.jtv.com/product/alchemy-jewelry-sealer-bundle-includes-4-oz-and-2-oz-spray-bottles/ACC053?mcid=XSOjsyt
It would be good to see a list of items needed. The bead reamer needs an attachment to make it into a wire rounder which hikes up the price somewhat and the site you recommend for tools just has the chasing hammer which of course is out of stock. Oh dear!
How i can do the hole in the stone please
never saw a tutorial about oxidizing... Would like to know more about that. Thanks
Good to know! Thank you for the feedback -- we'll add it to the list :)
I love your tutorials. In this tutorial are you using round wire? Is it half hard or what? I cannot get my wire to flatten so that i why I am asking. Thank you.
Thanks so much!! So glad you're liking them! This is round wire but the ends are hammered flat. Hope this helps!
Wow ! Myself learning good fix ring and jewelry , school . My story .😗😗😗
Where can I purchase the battery operated rounder? I only find a reamer that looks like yours. Please let me know. Thank you.
Hey Renee! Beadalon makes a great bead reamer that has an interchangeable tip. You can buy a wire rounding tip and change it out. A quick internet search for "battery operated bead reamer" should get you what you need. Be sure you look for the one that had the interchangeable tips! Good Luck!
@@JewelSchool just ordered it. Thank you.
Do you do pearl rings

What is the box called that you are working in? My beads bounce everywhere! (;/
Hi Bonnie! We don't know exactly where Susan purchased this, but it's basically a large jewelry or display tray and she's cut a thin piece of foam to fit it. If you can't find one, try getting ceramic trays or plastic triangles to hold your beads. They work great! Here are some links:

Hi Zizi! We have these products available at the link in the description! Let us know if you need assistance finding anything.
Thx
Can you give me more info on the wire rounder please? I looked on Amazon & it showed me a "Bead Reamer" that looked like the tool you used...?
Hey Kim! Sure! A bead reamer is actually used to make the holes of a bead slightly larger. A wire rounder is used on the end of wires to help remove jagged edges, making it smoother. Some battery operated bead reamers come with interchangeable head so it serves both purposes. They also come in different sizes for different gauge wire. When looking to buy, make sure you either get a wire rounder or a bead reamer with an interchangeable head (for the wire size, of course!) Hope this helps!
Great jewelry ideas but definitely hard to see. Your camera person changes views too often. Your hands are blocking the techniques. If you could stop and show what you did in a close up. Also, it would be nice if you could slow down your directions.
Really kool ring, a must try!!! Were is the best place to get the wire and tools?
Hi Mary! You can find the wire and tools in the link in the description.

Lo único que no pude verlo con nitidez, la cámara no enfocó el tutorial y no pudo verse con nitidez, no pudo verse con claridad. Todo estaba borroso 😢
Wow,love 💕 it
Love this!
Hi Susan - great job, clear and concise. But looks like you don’t have many vids yet. Can you recommend another clear, easy YT Channel you for me until you’ve added more uploads? Thanks!
That's pretty 😍
What size wubber shaping tool is that? They have different sizes.
Hi Selene, I used a 15/20mm Wubber. - Susan
@@JewelSchool Thank you!
@@JewelSchool Thanks, I can't seem to find any with that size combo online anywhere, even from the makers of wubbers. I may have to come up with an alternative. I purchased everything so far, except for the wubbers.
Very pretty! I have looked in the link for the battery-operated wire rounder, but I don't see it. I see a bead reamer that looks similar to the wire rounder, but I don't see a wire rounder. T.I.A. Also, I like them oxidized and unoxidized. Depends on my mood.
I just can’t seem to get the paddle to form 😒
Where do you get the wire rounding tool? I don't see them on the website that is linked here.
Hi! You can find that tool here: www.jtv.com/product/bead-reamer-and-wire-rounder-attachments-kit-incl-bead-reamer-and-assortment-of-burs/JSKIT0559
Thank u.
I love this video! Thanks!
Looks great.
Hi! What kind of wire is it (dead soft, half heard, etc.)?
Hey Melissa! She uses bare copper wire in the video, which acts somewhere between half hard and dead soft. Any half hard wire would work fine too.
I like my rings shiny, not oxidized! Good tips, but need closeup, could not see the curlicues.
Very nice, new beader and learning the craft. Where can I obtain some of these tools? Checked my local Michaels and don’t have them. Suggestions? Thank you!
Isabel Jaynes try beaducation.com. They have tons of stuff, great people
@@kbarry3045 I love Beaducation. That said, I watch for sales on Amazon and Michael's, and peruse Etsy sites as well.
Hi Isabel! You can find the supplies in the link in the description, at JTV.com!
Love it!
Oxidize! How do you do that?
Oxidizing is so fun! We like liver of sulfur. Just follow the directions to use on your silver or copper and voila!
Very difficult to see what you doing enlarge video could help thank you very pretty ring
I would leave my ring shiny, mostly because I like my copper or silver shiny. The other reason is that I don’t know how to oxidize metal, lol‼️😅

Great teacher, but ya'll got the same disease as the shopping channels. As soon as we need a close up, they switch cameras and go to far out. Stay in one spot, preferably looking down at the work, and it'll need less editing. We don't need to see more of the teacher's torso, just her hands and the work. You want to get a long shot? Do it when she's doing something unnecessary. Ugh!
I agree. Great verbal but I couldn't see the curli-que at all
I've been saying that for a long time. In some new videos, the camera work is better and stays up close on her hands.
Totally agree, I couldn't see anything?
I love the design but not the loud music.
It’s had to see! Small and fast
Hey who makes this kind of jewelry? I'd like to buy it :3
