    Using a silicone mat will help you a lot as they come of really easy.I have made loads and not had a problem.I put mine in an A4 folder once they are dry so I can see them better when I need them. Metalic paints looks great on these and also adding some fine glitter's.
    Great work Steve 🤩

    Great idea! Have you tried doing this on a piece of plastic? The skin might come of easier, and without the mould release.
    I've often thought about how pretty my palettes with left-over paint look. I usually use a lid of a plastic container as my palette, and the paint peels off the lids really well. I'll need to start saving the peel-offs for resin stuff.

    I did something similar awhile back except I did it directly into the silicone molds
    I was doing a paint pour and I had way too much leftover paint and not enough canvases but I didn't want to waste so much paint.
    It was enough for 2 coaster molds and 2 larger molds, I still haven't gotten around to filling 3 of the 4 molds, lol.
    But make sure to put a clear coat of resin on top, it's been almost 2 years and the one I did pour still kinda sticks slightly to things

    Use masking tape to tape your bezel tape to the silicon mat. It won't move around and won't stick to your fingers. Really easy peazy😊 😂.

    Quality paints will make better skins.
    If you are using C&B paints you need to use a pouring medium that will bind the colours... elmers white glue is often used for a pouring medium.
    Others have said to use a silicone mat etc i wouldn't know... I've never tried to make skins... i just watch stacks of videos and i have then taught others how to achieve results (a novice teachers lol)
    Your colours will remain brighter and will turn to mud less with a binder... unless that's the look you want.
    The colour you lay down first will take priority over any other layer.
    If you do a ribbon pour that may give you fascinating skins.
    Love your videos 👍

    I do something similar with my leftover resin, turn pouring cup upside down and pour onto wax paper and use bits in other projects, just an idea for future videos. Love you and how you share all- good and bad-very helpful.

    Instead of using the tray, use a silicone mat. That way the skins peel off beautifully and you don’t have to waste your mold release spray.

    My problem with the damming tape is when I take my jewellery off, a layer of the tape comes with it.

    Hi Steve, Great video as always. I am having trouble with my daming tape. When I peel my make off the tape the sticky backing comes away on my make. I am using Vista's UV resin, has anyone got any ideas how to stop this happening as its really hard to get off my work. Thanks ....

    • @hollylowery26
      @hollylowery26 Год назад +1

      Buy a new roll. They have made so many improvements to the tape in the last year. However you can rub the sticky off easily using 91% or higher alcohol.

  • @jadeswrapsandbraids
    @jadeswrapsandbraids Год назад

    You can save some money if you buy good quality packing tape to use in place of the damming tape. You get more for your money, and it seems to work well, for me it did. Do NOT get cheap packing tape. Or dollar store brand. It does not work very well. It should be name brand. It still is cheaper than the damming tape
