Wow, Steve, those pendants came out really nicely. They looked as if they were made of the bark of a tree under resin, which was an interesting result.this Thanks for the inspiration. This idea of yours gives me ideas for an application in a piece of art I'm planning to make. Have you tried this method over metallic paint, or over Gold leaf? This was a fascinating video Steve, thank you for posting it. God bless you and all those you know and love. Have a great rest of your week.
Thanks Steve. The time, patience and curiosity for showing us your experiments to help us see different ideas we can run with and develop our projects by further is SO appreciated. Many thanks.
That is really cool on resin! I've used crackle medium a long time ago on wood blanks and loved it! Daniel did something like that to create a lava effect. It turned out really cool, too. I think he used something a little different, though.
Well I do not have crackle mediam, but I do have on hand some crackle nail polish and a few unsatisfactory small peices sooo... I'm off to create something!!! Thank you 👍
I love this idea!! I'm always looking to get better and present my customers with something even more unique!!! You put me in the right headspace to do just that! Thank you Steve, you ARE the bestest!! ❤️🤗🙏💯
Hi Steve, Thanks for sharing a really super cool video 👍I loved all the end results Steve, Have you tried the crackle one coat nail varnish I haven’t tried it but that might work to ❤️👍
It does look pretty cool!! I used to do my nails with crackle polish all the time. What was the result of mixing the crackle n the paint together? N the result of the crackerjack over the paint instead of under?
Hi Steve! I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I have watched every one of them that deal with resin. I am just starting out doing art with resin. And I have learned so very much from you! Please do not ever stop being you!
I'm a newbie to the UV Resin world, and your videos have helped tremendously. Thank you!! Thank you also for the tip on the High Viscosity; my resin was going over the sides until I got this brand. Wowzers, what a difference! Much love and respect!! 💜
sorry to burst your bubble, but this technique is not "new" resin people used to used crackle nail polish in their molds for the longest time. It's a great look.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts sorry to join in but also it is new to you! Maybe the better way of putting it, would be there is a similar process. Not sorry to 'burst your bubble' also Steve's isn't nail polish! So its not the same!
I haven't seen those, but I do know about the crackle nail polish as I have some, and was going to say something. Cool, huh? I wonder how it compares to the crackle paint?
Hi. I've seen Daniel Cooper a little while ago doing this same technique, just with a different brand of medium. However, I think you've both used the technique but gained different results and given us all inspiration 😊
Steve I love the videos you have made! You have helped me learn so many resin techniques! I have only just started and still perfecting my technique. Thank you ever so much! Connie North Carolina. USA.
Beautiful!!! I just wanted to express my deepest gratitude. I've been wanting to try resin crafting for OVER A DECADE, and I finally made my first casting yesterday! Boy did I make a lot of mistakes that I didn't account for despite all my research! XD But, I also had a lot of successes, AND (as someone who does have a LOT of health issues including skin, respiratory, and immunological complications) I felt safe and confident the entire time fully loaded up with my PPE and comfortably working outside lol and it was a wonderful experience! I say all of this to share that your how-to videos were the BEST I'd come across. They were extremely thorough and covered so many scenarios that ended up happening to me. My ultimate goal is to sell my creations by making beautifully ornate dioramas, boxes, and lots of nerd-culture things lol but I feel so, so happy and accomplished to finally have started with it all. I know this was a long comment but I just really wanted to share my thanks and my experience and let you know the WORLD of a difference you made in someone's life. =) "Take care, enjoy your resin!!"
I did a run of this a few years ago, works great and the top coat really makes it pop. Great for making mud road surfaces o=in landscaping, and for lava effects too, always great on top of resin . I think it was about 40 years ago Dad taught me how to do this with that stuff and resin on model railways. Good work Steve. Sounding fine through your mask Steve :)
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Haha Steve. I got my standard one adapted to take a little mic and resealed properly. seems to work, people don;t think I'm wearing a mask. either that or I sound muffled anyway lol
These are lovely! The technique looks easy, too. Thank you Steve 😊!!! You always show us such great ideas and they are so doable that I gain confidence enough to actually try it.
The crackle medium that I bought said it needs to be applied to a pourous/flexible surface to adhere properly. So I never would have thought this could work. They look beautiful.
Love your work. I' struggle a bit with Mental Health. You have been very inspiring to me and I thank you for that.I've tried this in my hobby/craft and I agree that putting a thick layer of "Crackle" , then a thin final paint coat is the way to go. But I've also seen a YT video where the woman sugested applying the final paint coat before the "Crackle" is dry. It works great. You get much bigger and better crackle effect, which is good on larger pieces. Maybe not so on small pieces.
I do love your videos💙 so glad I warched this one. I used my fav paintbrush to paint resin and now its a killing tool....rock hard from the resin, which I thought would come off with wipes...we live and we learn. Next time I will use the alcohol😅
They look great, I wonder if the crackle nail polish will work the same? Have you tried that? I love how you try these new things, gets my craft brain working your videos 😊
lovely video! By the way, do you have a name or link to this new mask you are using so I can check it out? Also, Can you use resin on and in glass? eg in a glass bottle Also can it be used in and on plastic ...like a watter bottle?
Hi my name is Raquel i just love your work I am new with resin I would like to ask you a question if are using lets say jdiction epoxy resin and you don't have enough to finish your project can you use another brand of epoxy
Totally unrelated, but I am dying to know if you have ever tried speeding up slow-cure resin. Have you tried using a heat mat or the resin curing machine on something with deep pour resin? I know it will not cure in 2 hours, but I wonder if you could get it down to like 8 hours or something?
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I'm worried too. I wanted to make that faceted sphere you have woth a few alcohol ink drops, but it is too deep. However, slow cure means the inks usually disperse too much and you end with either a solid color or maybe a solid color and a white bottom. Oh well. Thanks for the reply.
I love your "crickle" effect, Steve! 😊❤💯 That clear on is my favorite, but they're all so striking in appearance and so pretty! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your videos! ❤💕❤ Would you happen to have a link for the mask? I'm sure it wasn't cheap, but for those of us with asthma and/or COPD, something like that would be a God-send!
Steve again, you did a fantastic video! Hugs my friend. I love the crackle stuff. It is so fun to use in so many things, and now I will use it in resin! Thank you!
Fabulous idea Steve!
Daniel Cooper posted a video on this last week. I think it is important to give credit to him for that.
Very cool! I can't wait to try this 😍
Those are so beautiful! Great technique! Have a great day!! ❤
Thanks

You can use Elmers glue as a crackle medium as well. You have to use a hair dryer or heat gun though to cause it to crackle.
Have you thought about using Jesmonite or something a bit more eco friendly here & there?
This is a great idea. I'd like to see the link of your new facemask. I have to wear glasses and struggle to find one that works.
Here is Brigitte from Belgium again giving you a dumb up
Do you have the details for ypur new mask please?
