Hey Andy! As someone who did a 6-year BS/MD and just turned 21 during MS3, I totally relate. One time someone stopped me in the hospital to ask if I was a high schooler volunteering😅 Keep working hard, keep showing up, and let your work and professionalism speak for itself

Pro Anesthesiologist tip: never ask a patient with Spina Bifida, how long they’ve had it. I was asked how long I had Spina Bifida before surgery. I was like “uhhh it’s a birth defect” 😂😂😂😂

Attending for 5 years now. I teach residents and workout at the undergraduate gym. People often ask me what my major is. And I'm like bro, in order to be taught by me, you need to have a doctorate. I'm getting close to 40 and people still think I'm 20 and card me at bars. Not sure when it will stop. 🤷

I had this problem too. Now I am almost 40 and now look older, people don't bother me. It is just a part of life experiences looking young. When you get to 40 then people will treat you different. But stay looking young bro. That is the complex issue. I would rather stay looking young than look old. When you get old, then you are stuck in an old body.

Love the comment "Asians don't be raisin." I feel like that was taken from one of David So's skits (or was it from one of Bart and Joe's skits)? If not, just ignore that statement lol. Although I'm not a doctor (nurse practitioner to be precise), all throughout my nursing career on telemetry, I was often referred to "oh my doctor's here" (in reference to being a male and in scrubs), but also have been told a decent amount of times that I was too young to be a doctor or even a nurse. I don't mind, love the Asian/Filipino young genes haha. I'm 33 and I work with Medicare patients and the VA and still am presumed I'm in my early 20's. Love it. I too started nursing very young. My older brother started working as an RN at 22, I followed but started at 24. Starting in the early to mid 20s in my opinion in the healthcare setting, particular RN, PA, MD is pretty young but enjoy it and learn early. Your adult life in healthcare will be so much better.
