    ---------------------
    If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.
    For your first purcahse, just stick with CoinBase: www.coinbase.com/join/5691c9d...
    For Trading, just start with Binance: www.binance.com/?ref=18111926
    By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)
    Don't have a hardware wallet?
    Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)
    Get a Ledger: shop.ledger.com/?r=5243ecbb84...
    (If you are just starting out, I would just recommend a Ledger Nano S)

      The presence of ADA certainly limits your choices. Basically the Nano X can support everything you are after so that would be number 1, as minimising the number of backups required is always very worthwhile as opposed to having coins spread over multiple wallets. The Trezor T can support the first three as well, but is quite expensive for what you get, so that would be number 2 as you can still use it with Ada wallets like Yoroi, Eth wallets like Metamask, etc, with Ellipal coming in at 3 as you are basically stuck with their software stack for the most part. (Though can use walletconnect for Eth stuff)

      @@CryptoGuide good morning, thank you for quick answering my question.
      I had a few question for you, yes i have ask Ellipal but it seem i di not have the right answer i needed.
      I had Ellipal titan bundle and got it updated to the newst version too.
      I presently had to added tokens (Mana and Matic) because it was not on my main assets screen on the mobile app and the Ellipal cold wallet.
      What i did was followed the instruction help from Ellipal. On maint screen assets - I clicked on ETH -> + my token search for Mana/Matic and added.
      But it was not added to the assets main screen but rather on the sub ETH screen, i did managed to sent some Matic to the recieving address successfully.
      My question is, if none of the token i needed not there on the app assets screen, and (also NOT on the cold wallet main screen) then how do i SIGN for transaction if i need to send it?
      How do i add that token to the cold wallet ? Thank you so much for your time and have a good Friday morning and weekend.

    Great job in providing a review of the product. I have seen a video of ledger nano and trezor had been brute force and hacked in. Ellipal has a feature of anti-disassembly and anti-tamper protection that I really like.

      You are mistaken with what you think you saw with Ledger. The Ellipal is actually less secure than the Ledger as it doesn't have a secure element. (Though pin extraction has been demonstrated for Trezor)

    • @CryptoGuide

      I would avoid it. Have never heard of it, clicked through to their website and the link to the manual didn't work... Wallets in this form factor are also going to have some serious tradeoffs, see my reviews of the Jubiter Blade and the Coolwallet S.
      Edit: The Bitlox Github sems to be dead too... No updates in 5 years... No news/blog articles... Doubt it would even ship if you ordered one.

    What's the best way to put our private keys on the Titan from a Trust Wallet? Do we just import the seed phrase? Good video!!! 👌👍.

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  2 года назад

      The Titan will allow you to directly import the mnemonic from Trust, so you can just do that. I would also suggest using the Titan to generate a fresh new seed as well, as a big part of the benefit of a hardware wallet is having a seed that has always remained offline.

      @CryptoGuide  Год назад

      If you forgot your BIP39 passphrase, the only way to access your funds is to work out what that passphrase was... The only way to do this is by brute-force, which can happen by hand (so trying lots of passphrases manually) or with a tool like BTCRecover. (You can check out my videos on passphrase recovery with BTCRecover)
      If you mean that you forgot your 12 or 24 word recovery seed then this is an unrecoverable loss.

    • @CryptoGuide

      Neither, it's stored on the blockchain(s) at addresses associated with the seed that your Ellipal created and stored at the initial setup. You seed IS you wallet, the physical Ellipal just lets you securely generate, store and use it.
      You can see this at work in my video where I use the same seed on multiple wallets ruclips.net/video/iAdmvl3Z_cM/видео.html

      Privacy, as accounts are totally separate. Accounting, as you may have multiple different groupings for funds. Security for defi, as it lets you have one account where you do things like approve smart contracts and another where you simply store things. Perfect timing. I was actually thinking about getting an ellipal titan or a cobo vault pro. The cobo vault seems more secure but the ellipal supports more coins. Funny how you can never get everything you want. My question is what if I bought the ellipal or cobo vault pro & had all my crypto on it & one day ellipal or cobo vault goes out of business & I could never get my hands on another ellipal or cobo vault , would I be able to purchase a ledger nano & use my recovery seed phrase & recover all of my crypto onto the ledger nano. Great video by the way. Love your accent too. Thank you.

    • @CryptoGuide

      Both use BIP39 seeds and have no problem using something like a Ledger to recover the funds. (The only issue with Ellipal that I demo in the video is trying to go the other way, so restore a Ledger/Trezor seed on an Ellipal)
      The issue with Cobo is that they have actually stopped selling hardware and are in the process of relaunching those products under the "Keystone" brand, with stuff apparently starting to ship from the end of this month.

      It's certainly a departure from the general design principles of other devices in that it's more of an Eth/token type wallet than something that was designed as BTC first (or only) type device.
      I haven't had to do transactions by hand for a while, so that was novel too ;)

Can anyone give me some advice about this. Looking to buy a second cold storage and this method seems to be a logically and great way to do things

      The main long term concern is making sure that you keep your seed backups secure and robust. The devices themselves should basically be considered consumables, especially given that Ellipal doesn't have any 3rd party software. (Though it's at least possible due to their open QR standard)

    privacy score of 20% is low so I looked at your spreadsheet and AF15->AJ15 read more as security features than privacy. Maybe add a few more column on what data gets gathered by each vendor's phone app. Secux and ledget on ios grab quite a few data points for example.

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  2 года назад

      It's actually unknowable what is being collected with things like the Ellipal as it's all closed source. (Though the fact that you can't even choose to use a 3rd party wallet is a big part of the problem)

    The ability to securely import private keys is a real time saver, especially if it could handle encrypted paper wallets. That said, everything else on the Titian looks so poorly designed and insecure. Ultimately importing private keys is all I would it use it for. - Well perhaps it would make a good paper weight!

    • @CryptoGuide

    Seems like a modified android smartphone with a wide attack surface and not really a true hardware wallet

    • @CryptoGuide
      @CryptoGuide  3 года назад

      It is just a ruggedized, low end Android phone, so no secure element or anything like that. At the same time, they went with an SoC which doesn't have any radio time time and seem to have improved much of what made the first version quite poor. (This approach is also what let's it directly import paper wallets, additional mnemonic, etc, as storage isn't a limitation.)
      It's a hardware wallet in the sense that it's a function limited, purpose built device which doesn't share keys with the host device under any circumstances, but doesn't follow the same simplicity focused approach of something like a Trezor/ColdCard. At the same time, there are other factors beyond this which could be fixed in software which cause this device to score poorly in terms of security/privacy on my full feature comparison page.
      The biggest competition for devices like this one is an old iPhone + two part software wallets like AirGap Wallet or the CoinID Wallet.
