Now that i have this Cold Wallet, i fully understand its purpose an function.
Once you create an account on the ellipal, write down all your keys and account name.
Once your ellipal is connected you go to the app an do everything from there. The ellipal is the physical storage that is holding your crypto you just cant see it on the device because it does nothing but store the vital information. The only way to get the crypto is from the device once you send it there. So it needs the devices signature,which you have possession of, its like a verification process to make sure its really you. This is the purpose of having this. So when someone trys to send your crypto somewhere they cant because the vital info is only stored on your ellipal. People can still hack your account but theyll never be able to send anything because the vital information is on the ellipal. Im a hands on person,so this concept made sense once i had the ellipal in my hands. Im glad i bought this cold wallet,an im also going to buy the ledger stax as well once i see some real reviews because 2 safes is better than one. Excellent video btw,i just commented for the hands on learners.

Great video on the Ellipal. I was curious about this device but never went forward in purchasing it. Can you do a review with the Ledger, Trezor, and the Ellipal? I would like to see a pros a cons comparison of all three before making a purchase.

So once you transfer the Crypto to Ellipal. What if I purchase online again does that transaction go straight to Ellipal or do I manually place every transaction into the Ellipal Cold Wallet?
Crypto dad.. please ask ellipal to "Maximum out/transfer" button on all blockchain. They cunningly removed the button in order to sneak or hold your coins to prevent you from taking all your coins out. They should add that button so we don't go round typing small amounts we have to take all out

So I have the ellipan Titan 2.0 and transferred my songbird from up to the mobile app. Once I did that I set up the wallet. Now I tried to send sgb to wallet but I think it got sent else where. I went to contacts where messages and accts are. I pull up contacts and my address to where my money went to. How can I retrieve it?
I've got a question, public&private keys are generated on chain online, so if ellipal is air gapped then how is it possible for it to generate public addresses off line? It means it comes preloaded with the addresses? During setup, you're linking the app on your phone with the ellipal(to retrieve your created addresses) by scanning the ellipal. Not viseversa. So wouldnt this suggest that the devs of ellipal have your private keys saved/stored and accessible?
Excellent presentation. Sir, my Ellipal Titan has version 3.0.0 and I want to upgrade it to version 3.12.0, but it cannot be upgraded. It said that the latest version is up to date. Can you advise me about this?

Do we need to save the private keys as well as the recovery phrases? If the Ellipal gets lost, stolen or damaged will I be able to retrieve funds with only the recovery phrases? I know that's not how Metamask works....

Same issue I am having. There is a set of instructions to bring from app to cold storage, however I'm finding it confusing and have not been successful yet (only testing with small amounts of DOGE).. When on app only, it's considered HOT storage.. Anyways, I'm looking to learn a bit more "how to" before I bring over my ETH & BTC.

If it does not connect to Internet, or BT or WiFi, or EDGE, 2g, 3g, 4g, 5g. How does the Crypto get on the device then... The Phone app must connect in some way shape or form to sent and receive right?!

(1) Because you do reviews for a wide range of products, maybe you can't answer this question publicly, but I'd love to know which crypto wallet is your favorite -- the one you use the most. (2) I love Ledger, but I just bought an Ellipal Titan for larger accounts because of the air-gap security. However, they sent one with only 12 word recovery phrase. I was fully expecting 24. How did you get an Ellipal 24 word phrase version? (I've submitted this question to Ellipal, too). THX!
Well, the current consensus is to not trust all of your crypto in one hardware wallet, so having a favorite doesn’t mean I put everything in there. But I still use my ledger nano X as my go to device. I also have a Trezor T. but as you mentioned, I’ve reviewed a lot of devices, so I have several hardware wallets laying around and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses, as far as the 12 seed recovery phrase, I know it seems like a 24 word seed is better, but a 12 word seed is more than sufficient. In fact, 24 word seeds are a bit overkill.
I believe that Ellipal supports Polygon (MATIC). Can you receive and send NFTs on the cheaper Polygon chain?
Is there a program that emulates phone OS so user can use a app when no PC software for that wallet is available ?
I don't think so. But you can always import the 12/24 seed phrase into another wallet.

I'm going to get the ellipal, But When buying crypto do we store it immediately to the hardware wallet? Or keep it in the exchange collect profits and then store it. Sorry I'm trying to learn so I don't make a huge mistake.
The amount of coin you have in the wallet will still act with the market, but won’t be safe untill it’s on the wallet

I think you are talking about the micro SD card? You can't use the Ellipal to format it, but you can use a USB card reader on your computer to format it.
Although I tried updating the firmware and failed. I think I formatted the card wrong. (I think it need to us FAT instead of NTFS)

Hi @The CryptoDad, I've been worried about the crypto I've been holding on Voyager. I have about .5 BTC and 8 ETH on their platform (Nothing crazy, but close to 20k - and I paid alot more for it). I have left these coins on Voyager to get the APY, which has added up over the last 1yr. However, now Voyager has me worried that they may go bankrupt and I don't want to lose my little nest egg. Should I just pull my crypto off Voyager and put it on this ELLIPAL? Thanks for any help you can provide.

...because of the "air gapped" nature of the Ellipal
Try to move zcash? It's sketchy to me. Gotta worry if the camera works to send my coins. Zcash upgrading is their excuse. It's now approaching 2 months. That for me is a no no no. Air gapped my ass. I want to move my coins as I want. Not wait for then to finish their zcash upgrade. Just seems shady.
@@leftyhooks5854 you could use the 12 word phrase on a hot wallet and recover your z cash that way couldn’t you? You would just need to make a new 12 word phrase account on your ellipal afterwards
You're likely to have charging issues with the device if you don't turn it on often, especially once the warranty is up.
Horrible customer service and shoddy hardware.
