Thank you for the share! This study by Ledger Donjon was made as part of ELLIPAL bounty program and we have rewarded Ledger for finding the flaw on our first model. Base on the study we have redesigned and came out with our second generation model - ELLIPAL Titan. We have removed all components that can be connected to the internet by using an all new cpu board. We have also removed any USB ports and instead replaced with magnetic contact charging to avoid getting hooked up to any computer. On the hardware side, we chose to go with an IP65 rated anti-tamper casing which will deletes all data upon breach and leaves scars if tampered with. It's rather a simple change but a very effective one to avoid any hacking.

Can you help me? I can’t get the unsigned QR code to sign for my LTC which is now stuck in the app! I tried sending it back to my Gemini but it keeps saying invalid address. I wanted to move it from app to device (sign for it) I tried to use the receiving address from the device and it said can’t send to the same address. I don’t know what address it’s looking for.

The Ellipal phone is only used to ensure the funds enter the app safely! If I owned BNB and wanted to convert it to BTC on the ellipal app, is that also possible? Or would I have to do it on MM/Binance any trading app first?

@@trollgoku7353 This is my first cold wallet and I watched many many videos on which to buy, and several i watched said they have had many cold wallets over the last several years and this was the easiest and their "new favorite". I like that it is "no blue tooth", supposedly blue tooth could allow a hacker. On these ideas i went with this Ellipal. I am not computer savy, and I did not know that I had to buy a minimun of 20 xrp and maintain a 20 xrp minimun in a wallet,...of course I did 5, then 10, then 15, then found a vedeo that told me the rule is minimum of 20. And walla, it works very well. I am holdling, so I have not tried to send any yet. But from what I can tell I think my Ellipal is great. I am so afraid I will mess up transfers that I only store xrp on this one. Cause I keep hearing if you ever use a wrong address your crypto is gone forever. I always transfer first a small amount like 25 or 30, and then i move only a few hundred at a time incase I make a unrecoverable error. I keep hearing of hackers, and now am considering yubi key for computer and ipass for passwords, all of this is a lot of work for me and nerve racking. I would recommend the Ellipal. I really like mine. I had to wait a couple of weeks for it to get here...

Hi Crypto dad, is it possible to use the import function, to transfer the keys of the coin base wallet of ones Coin base account, into the Ellipal, hard wallet, or do you have to create brand new account, and transfer an amounts from the coin base account using the QR codes into the new account on the Ellipal hard wallet?

I would like this as well since Coinbase is what I use too.
Go into Ellipal wallet copy your wallet address for coin you want to receive, go to coinbase and select that coin, select send, paste your ellipal wallet address and send to your ellipal wallet address

It would have been nice if you had focused the camera on the signed QR code so that we could scan it and see what it actually contains. I like that SafePal only costs $40, but for some reason they encrypt the QR codes which is a deal breaker for me.

If you set up the Ellipal as its own wallet what will happen? It will allow you to set up the Ellipal with its own password and Mnemonic Phrase. I gues you wouldn't be able to send anything or check your balance...

I have a Ellipal Titan and does look it's good for security storage .. but I don't think it's quick to spend cryptos and having to have two units in you hands... I have ordered the Ballet Wallet and I get the feeling it's similar process but I'll have to judge them when the Ballet Wallet comes.
@John W You can create a hot wallet to go along with the cold wallet on the Ellipal Titan. I have 2 hot wallets and 1 cold. You can have so many hot and cold wallets on a single Titan allowing multiple users/family members to use it.
@Rex Kneisley One thing with it I was not successful on was using my registered EOS wallet in cold storage to open an EOS account in my hot wallet. I guess a different Titan has to be used or go thru them. Last, I always try the recovery function on a new wallet just to make sure it works and for some reason my stellar lumens did not show up even though it was successful in the transfer before I recovered the wallet. I emailed support and they are looking into it. It was only $3 worth but still. XLM and others were successful in the backup.

You only need the words, if ellipal is no longer you can take the seedfrases and buy a ledger or any. the words are the wallet.
Ellipal as a company doesnt hold your crypto they just generate the seedfrases that are yours. it doesnt play any role if it is chinese your seed frases are the importance best regards Subarcticman

After the ledger fiasco I'm transferring my crypto away. I'm using ellipal as 1 alternative. I have a query regarding the claim that crypto cannot be sent out of your ellipal account without using the ellipal cold device to sign the qr code. Well, I have just sent crypto out of the ellipal app on my phone back to my ledger and it sent ok but I didn't need the cold wallet device to sign it away?
I can send and receive crypto from the ellipal app without any interaction of the ellipal hard wallet device. How so?

Sorry, but I got lost at how you got your words into those boxes. When I pressed a word in the boxes below the boxes with nothing in them, that word went into an empty box. We want our particular words in those boxes, so how do I do that?? You skipped the most critical part of your video, which is transferring your own mnumonic words from paper to Ellipal. It's easy to transfer the big name coins yes. I transferred some ELON that is under Ethereum but not listed individually and cannot send that to anywhere just keeps saying insufficient transfer fee and can set at the max and will not send. I know cannot exchange it or anything but cannot send out of the wallet? Why is that as makes it look like a scam?

Just a word of warning: Ellipal is a Chinese company headquartered in Hong Kong, so be certain you are aware of and okay with that before purchasing. One of the biggest considerations of making a wallet decision is security, and customer service. Can you get ahold of them and are they responsive?

Do I have to update the SD card for Ellipal for the latest version or could I still purchase crypto and use the wallet as is ? I'm having a hard time formatting it I don't know why the zipped file doesn't go on the card when I say erase and format it does it but when. I put it in the Ellipal device it says not reading ad card info
Make sure that you're using fat32 format when you initialize the card. Make sure that the card has enough space. I think you need at least 4GB card 2 gigabyte isn't enough.

Ledger nano x or ellipal titan?
Have you had any problems updating the firmware ? I cant get the firmware to update from a file downloaded on a pc? it gets to like 99% and then says failed to copy files. I used to download the firmware on a mac, and it never gave any problems. now same routine, same formatting, same process, and it just fails to update. Did you run into anything like this?
make sure the SD card is formatted FAT32, not NTFS or ExFAT
