You mentioned in the very beginning that he didn't go as low as Lara on a particular note. I'm sure you realized as time went on that he was not copying Lara's rendition. He never does that. He makes every song his own. And any way, he can sing any note he wants to sing. He's truly amazing!
I think at that time he could not yet achieve the bass notes he is capable of today, but I agree, he would definitely have achieved the tone in question. 😅
Dimash not only plays the piano beautifully but also 6 other instruments. He performs many songs in English and 15 other languages. In English some are: Stranger, Be with me, Your love, The story of one sky.
Dimash will cover a song but will NEVER copy it. He always goes lower or higher the original singer he wants to make it his own so he can feel it he sings songs by the way he feels not for acrobatics

Thank you for being one of the FIRST reactors to hit ALL the key points. Your analysis is spot on. This was a COMPETITION where he sang several songs over the course of the show. He's trying to win. Yes also in particular Adagio- because the week before he misstepped with his “Uptown Funk” & came in either last place or close to it- he had been #1 or #2 I think up u til that point in every performance. So he was giving his all like always, & then some on top of that :)

Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. A menudo he comentado sobre la capacidad de Dimash para transmitir emociones profundas a través de su voz (incluso cuando existen barreras del idioma, Dimash parece capaz de transmitir el sentimiento vocalmente). Por los videos que he visto y los artículos que he leído, Dimash es un ser humano muy enfocado (¡obviamente talentoso!), que tiene un profundo sentido de conexión con las cosas simples de la vida: familia, fe, belleza, niños, amistades y respeto. No, PLEASE no reaction to a Live-Version of the Story of one Sky, before you have seen the MV! Of course the music (composed by Dimash) is also tremendous on its own, but Dimash also designed the storyboard for the MV, and the whole thing should certainly be seen as a total work of art.

👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be.
The interpretation of the song by Dimash is brilliant. He touches my heart and soul ... every time.
The shaking of his head and the trembling of the chin has nothing to do with the vibrato. It just goes to show that Dimash can be a little nervous and tense too. It was about a lot. In the previous Episode 5 (Uptown Funk) he yanked everyone out of their seats but still got last place. Either he won now or he would go home. Of course, Dimash won Episode 6.
'Adagio in g minor' - today, known as one of the most popular compositions of classical music; composed of alleged fragments of Tomaso Albinoni's; in 1958, joined together by Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer).
Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire.

What a stunnung performance by this young man. What a beautiful and noteworthy reaction. Yes, Dimash takes control of everything from start to finish in each of the songs that he sings., and rightly so. He has earned it. The musicians who provide the acompaniment, the audiance, everybody respects him. He has become one of the most deserving figures on this planet. There is not a single vocal coach I have seen reacting to his songs, neither music teachers and lecturers who do not respect this man. Truly, he is a gift, a gem, a living legend.

He is a Tenor (meaning his voice tends more toward the middle and top of the voice vs the bottom like say a Baritone) so with that explaination he has a natural advantage to sing high and easy up to probably Bb4/C#5 or anything like that, basically opera tenor high notes, meaning he could of just strengthen this area and become a really good opera tenor. NOW this is what makes Dimash fasinating to analyze. He can sing from a strong E2 - C6 in his full voice. Of course the sound coming out is different as he goes higher and higher but not only can he do this but he can sing dynamically in these places. Meaning he has muscle coordination in his lowest notes and highest notes. WHICH IS UNHEARD OF, but more then this, his production of his sounds aka his Dynamics range to the extremes of the human voice. He can sing airy (which is not special) but he knows how to sing so lightly in his phonation he can engage the cords with little to no pressure in anywhere of that range, that is just as light as breathing (which is how one is suppose to sing) now he can go to the extremes in strength all the way to the intensity, size and body of the most iconic Opera singers (saddly most opera singer dont know how to produce freedom in a note that loud so they push and it ruins the sound coming out). NOW LASTLY…. his falsetto!
NOW the best part about Dimash is he consistently challenging himself, consistently singing higher, softer, stronger, lower, etc… and what he uses to practice is none other than the art form most complain about being too hard. OPERA. THIS GUY IS what every singer wants in some ways or another.

He was singing for his life in this one (so to speak). If he did not crush this, he would be eliminated from the Singer competition. So he showed up with a suit in the main color of his national flag and went for it. Obviously, in the end, he wins the whole thing. Dimash! The very best in the world. P.S. I believe what we saw was resonance, not head bobbing in the vibrato. Sometimes when he belts those high notes that happens. Not a technique flaw but sheer sound resonance. This also happened in Opera 2, for obvious reasons. :)
