I love this, the degrees of glory makes the most sense to me, when people ask me if they are doomed if they don’t join the church and I gladly say no. Gods plan is perfect
Which shows just how abundantly God rewards those who follow Him!!! Keeping our fist estate merits a Kingdom of Glory!!! How important it is that we celebrate the light and share the joy as Michael McLean’s songs beautifully describe!!!!!!!! Thank you President Oaks for being such a brilliant light of Christ’s righteousness: a genuine disciple of Our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!
This is the plan from the very beginning and no one has ever explained it better to me than the missionaries of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. That is why I am a member today. Keep up the great work, we love our missionaries. ❤
Thankful for Jesus Christ and for the redemption from our sins that he brings to us all! His mortal ministry started in Bethlehem and ended with His Atonement at Gethsemane and on the cross.
Hey man. Many of us have been there and made terrible mistakes. You'd be surprised at some of the mistakes that people that you consider to be very good have made. Repentance is real. We can change and become clean of Jesus Christ. Just keep trying. Every minute of every day is an opportunity to start over as you turn to Christ. Follow President Nelson's last invitation from General Conference to set aside some time each week to study/read/watch videos about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As your understanding of Him and His Atonement grows, you will find the power and hope you need to change. You will find joy. I know because I've been where you're at, and everything has changed. You got this, bro! Remember that God "pardoneth iniquity" and "delighteth in mercy" (Micah 7:18).
I remember hearing once that the prophet Joseph Smith struggled with the concept of degrees of glory at first after he had heard other churches teach the one Heaven and one Hell doctrine for so long. I’m sure he was relieved when he learned more about the truth of the degrees of glory through ongoing revelation.
This is beautiful. If we keep His commandments, repent of our sins, love one another, and always strive to follow Him, we will be saved. I pray for the Lord to be with you all, my brothers and sisters, I love you all so much. Thanks to the Lord! In His name, Amen. 💖 ^_^
The Three Kingdoms of Glory can be likened to the parable of the three gardens. The Celestial Kingdom is like the first garden, where those who follow Christ with all their heart dwell in eternal glory with God. The Terrestrial Kingdom is like the second garden, for those who live good lives but did not fully embrace the gospel, finding peace but not the fullness of God’s presence. The Telestial Kingdom is like the third garden, where those who reject the gospel face the consequences of their choices, yet still receive a form of glory. As the Bible teaches, “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” (1 Corinthians 15:41). Our choices determine which garden, or kingdom, we inherit.
hey everyone , my name is florence otieno from kenya , Im asking you to please pray for me , i feel like am losing it, im fight depression and i have no one i can talk to . please keep me in your prayers . thank you
I will pray for you, Florence! Psalm 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God" Even though you feel alone, you can always talk to God. Of course professional help is important too, God is a loyal friend that will always hear and help you.
Also, find strength in knowing that nothing can separate you from his love. Romans 8:35 & 37 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us I'll pray that you will conquer your depression by managing it with Christ! You are not alone, for Christ's atonement was personal for each soul. He knows exactly what your depression feels like, so he can help you the most.
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be TIME NO LONGER:” -Revelation 10:5-6 Because time will eventually be no longer, yet the sealing by God will remain into eternity.
Time means mortality, your lifetime on earth. A couple who is married in a temple is married for their time on earth, and after death they are still married in heaven. There is no death till us part. If married in the temple Your children are automatically sealed to you for time & eternity. If you were not married at first in the temple you can get married in the temple still, to seal or marry you as husband & wife for eternity. Your children are also sealed to you at the same time. Your children grow up and repeat the process. So you can live together as family’s through eternity. Even if someone died and they were not sealed to their spouse, you can do that for them in a temple and be their proxy. The person does not have to accept it though. The Lord respects our freedom to choose. You can decide in heaven if you want to accept that marriage or not. I hope I haven’t thoroughly confused you. I can’t seem to be able to just explain one thing, I have to elaborate more. Thanks for the question! 😊
Elder Oaks says, “The revealed doctrine of the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all the children of God-with exceptions too limited to consider here-will ultimately inherit one of three kingdoms of glory, even the least of which “surpasses all understanding”.” Ultimately, or in the final judgment after the Millennium, Satan and those who rebelled with him and never received an earthly body, will be permanently cast off and bound in “outer darkness”. That is my understanding. There may be some few “sons of perdition” who join them there, but like Elder Oaks says, those are “exceptions too limited to consider here”. On the other hand, I think those who only attain to a telestial (star) glory, will be in for quite a bumpy ride between the time of Christ’s Second Coming in glory, and the time of the final judgment and assignment to a kingdom of glory. Those who refuse to receive Jesus Christ, and therefore refuse to receive his atonement and mercy, will have to suffer for their own sins at some point. That is one reason that members of this church perform vicarious baptisms in temples. We want even those in the ‘spirit world’ (past mortality, but before resurrection) to have every opportunity to accept Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Omg I was watching sister wives on TV lol and the husband was building a home for his family and in his home he made separate places for each of his wives and this scripture came to my mind "in my fathers house are many mansions. So I wonder......
That guy is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That guy is a member of the "Apostolic United Brethren" group. Polygamy has been a temporarily tool throughout history (see Abraham, Jacob/Israel, David, etc) but ultimately monogamy is the Celestial standard. On a tangential note, I wonder if Jacob (who was renamed Israel) loved his first wife Leah the most at the end of his life, when he originally wanted to marry the youngest? Because of all his wives, he was buried with Leah.
Again I really don't know what to do with this. Is this supposed to be comforting? Or terrifying? Or what? There are so many unanswered questions here, so many assumptions, and so much not covered I don't even get the point of the snippet. What I'm becoming? If the G.A.s got even 1/10th of what I'm becoming how they address us would be so different.
comforting in the fact that as we strive to make a live according to covenants with God, my nature slowly changes into something that would be comfortable living with God, and under His divine laws. I guess it could be terrifying in the fact that if I choose to become something that desires anything less than that, I'll be missing out on Eternal opportunities, the main one being in the presence of God. comforting in the fact that those who don't choose God, while they have to suffer for their own sins, will still be happy or content being what they became comfortable with in mortality. the General Authorities are speaking to a worldwide audience about eternal truths that many don't like to hear and that many love to hear. you have to decide what you are becoming, as it isn't their job to judge you. they just speak the eternal truth of the positive or negative consequences of choices, in this case, and let you decide how to address it. the unanswered questions are most likely things we can't answer, or they would be things that God, in his Mercy and Justice will handle on a one on one basis, with His child when they come together again.
@@travismarin2595 well, there are aspects of that quotation that could be misconstrued so I’ll be clearer. Jesus Christ will be our judge who will give us our final judgment. The general “authorities” have the authority to teach us eternal truths, hold priesthood keys, and administer the Gospel through the world until the Savior comes. The general authorities aren’t given the job of being our final judges which is what I was referring to. In reality, as this video shows we will ultimately judge or decide where we fit best because of the laws we best liked to live.
@@Kyle_Butterfield81I'd also suggest that our understanding of "final" judgement might also be as incorrect as Joseph Smiths was of "eternal" punishment... I had "final" exams many times in my educational career... Note that the last comment here is also that it's a plan that "respects our agency." does that mean our agency is now removed once we're assigned to a kingdom? I don't believe so, and neither have many GA's in history.

How do the meek inherit the earth?
I have a question: what is the meaning of sealing the dead for TIME and eternity? I get the eternity bit, but what is the meaning of sealing for time?
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be TIME NO LONGER:”
-Revelation 10:5-6
Because time will eventually be no longer, yet the sealing by God will remain into eternity.
“All Time and Eternity” was explained to me as the same as infinity. It has no end
For mortality.

It's reasonable to suppose that time still applies in the Spirit World; in fact, it is necessary. Not being bound by time will come to us after.
So is there a hell

the word Hell in the NT is translated from 7 different words. The Hell we have in our popular view today is made up after the new testament.

If you dont get a chance in this life you will get a chance in the next.
