I run YYYY. Yoi, Yelan, Yunjin, C4 Yanfei. Is it optimal? No. Enables the pyro resonance and opens theoretical Prototype Amber or TTDS use, but shield only on burst is less than ideal. Totally worth it for the giggle factor I get out of it though, and with Yanfei's charged & skill smashing rocks + Yelan's mobility + Yoi's damage on tap with skill it's a breeze doing overworld exploration.
I find that Jean variant is better than Bennet Variant in Furina Yelan Team, even if you couldn't swirl Pyro consistently (it happens half the time and once is enough ) it will still be much higher dps to swirl for two hydro characters instead of just using Bennet for Yoimiya's output.
@@molybdnum I have try team before, if your Yanfei aren't using ttds it will lose to Thoma. Another Team I like to run is Yoi Yelan Fischl Diona with Crimson Witch, your burst does good damage there with Overvape.
I have yoi from her last banner and just pulled jean last night, i really want to pull raiden next patch because A i already have 2 godroll pieces for her artifact set and B i just like her design. but is yoi and raiden a good team? and is jean a good support for them? also who would you put in the 5th slot given that my only hydro characters are barbara and candace and te first decent hydro unit i get will be reserved for my ganyu ayaka freeze team (yeah u kinda need water to freeze...)

People refuse to believe that because most don't know how to do math. Getting EVERY shot buffed is more than having a buff and a shot that might not vape every 3 hits.
She has consistently reached the top 10 DPS for a speedrunner I follow. She did fall off to a close 11th after Fontaine released until Furina’s banner bumped her back up.
I'm so happy I got Yoimiya on her original banner. Loved her design and personality and turns out her playstyle was just perfect for me. Started using her with Fischl, Zhongli and Xingqiu and still using her in overvape (but with Yelan instead of Xingqiu) and this team continues to be my favourite gameplay-wise to this day :D
I remember when Yoimiya first came out I, pulled for her but lost the 50/50. Tried again on her rerun but lost the 50/50 AGAIN. I had enough and decided to stop wishing till she had her next rerun and lo and behold she had THE FASTEST rerun of all time and I finally got her. Double Crowned when she finally came home and I have enjoyed using her ever since. Meta is for now but Your Faves are forever!
15:30 claps! One of the first few Yoimiya guides that actually mentions Elemental Mastery is good on yoimiya. Most of guides just skip it, even saying 0 EM build is fine, when it's actually not. Specially for Vape tems. Having around 100 ~ 200 EM on yoimiya makes a Huge difference when she crits . Glad to see a guide actually talking about this! Claps 👏👏
The thing i often do is i use her as a turret, put a zhongli pillar, yelan Q, raiden E, and then yoimiya E and let the missles find there targets while standing on top of the pillar 😂
I have Ayaka and Ei. This will be the best time for me to get her. I've wanted her since her debute. Have R5 rust and everything. After Yoimiya i shall save for Neuvillette or Furina or Kazuha.
I like her as a charachter she is really fun and some abysses she really shines in, like when they give those flying drakes. For me her biggest issue is not that she is single target, I mean you are aware of that when you choose her), but that you can not choose who she targets if the enemies are somewhat close together. Not being able to prioritize targets can be a pain. Like those two kairagi you have to sorta kill simultaneously
Got her on accident, but she's really good against certain enemies. Used her a bunch against the abyss Thundering Manifestations and specters (especially pre-nerf).
Same here I prefer baizhu to Jean! Yoimiya has single target covered a bit of temporary res shred you have to shape the rotation around isn’t worth it compared to burgeon’s AoE on a yoimiya already built with a decent amount of EM (particularly because my yoi doesn’t have a goblet in a furina team). Plus his skill based healing and passive make him so comfy for overworld so you aren’t popping jeans burst on two hilichurls. He also greatly helps with hydro shields. Plus yoimiya has weirdly deceptive range on her normals for activating burgeons, each arrow seems to have a fat pyro tunnel around it and her burst is actually useful in the team for proccing cores (although the ally ATK buff is wasted). I’ve never really ran my yoimiya with a dedicated shielder as I’ve always been fine with her range for avoiding most interruptions but baizhus little shields are a good compromise to using a shielder, saving your combo from the odd hit here and there. Honestly such a good combo!
I've never been so happy that Baizhu has support capabilities, I've been waiting for an unga-bunga team to use with Yoimiya as main DPS when I played (Yoi + Raiden, XQ + Baizhu) Nahida is a great option of course, but I suck at dodging so I can't really take the risk of damage XD
A really good overview of Yoimiya! I tend not to like quickswappy teams, and I really like characters who really do a lot of attacks through their normals. She was also great for me as I was getting used to the game in general. Her streamlined kit with good strength and flexible teams and autotargeting has made her a staple whenever I'm wandering around Teyvat or when I need to tackle most weekly bosses. It takes a little bit of practice getting used to when to dodge and dash, but overall her playstyle is very clean and she can put out impressive numbers even with okay-ish Shim pieces. I've mainly used her with hydro characters like Xingqiu and Yelan, but I'll be pulling on the upcoming banners and hoping for a Chevreuse to open up more possibilities.
She’s really fun to play with. I wasn’t looking for her the first time she came out, and I got her in like my 13th or 14th wish while I was trying to build up my pity. She ended up being one of my favorites.
Thanks for the helpful guide! She may not be the best choice but I don’t like Hu tao and XiangLing. Actually my choice of pyro characters are not good… the other is Klee… but I love her. Yoimiya is also a lovable character so I really want her. Her kansai dialect in the Japanese voice is awesome too. I’m a mobile player so her auto attacks would be so comfortable. Honestly I think there should be more bow characters using normal attacks. “If Wanderer was a cute girl” made my day! As Wanderer main, I can’t play in the overworld without him. I could actually play him anywhere but the only wall I hit with him is when the enemy is anemo-resist/immune. Since he’s a catalyst he has no physical damage. I think Yoimiya would be less in that problem since her normal attacks would be leveled maybe her physical damage would be decent? I think I saw Yoimiya’s charged attack does missile to enemy, which I think so cool. Indeed she’s a mobile user’s hero!
A little Yoimiya artifact trick: Yoimiya is one char that can actually benefit from having atk goblet as opposed to the elemental damage. It's because while in a perfect situation, she'll only be out for the duration of her E, in reality you will have a lot of situation where you just can't be arsed to use your E (especially if you use Shimenawa 4p) Yes, this also applies on Marechausse build.
She used to be my main back in the day due to how easy her game play is, and doesn't rely on burst is a huge bonus in overworld. Until I got Wanderer, the boy completely dominates her in all of her strong aspects AND he can fly😂 now he's my go to in overworld
Thank you for pointing her Burst aoe out as I find other Content creators even Today refuse to mention that part of her kit, if properly positioned her Burst does guarantee some good aoe potential even more so if there's Vape with Yelan. Aoe isn't really a factor for her as she is able to run Fischl Beidou compared to Hutao which does not want them, Yoimiya also one of the few that allows Yelan to maximize her 12-13 assist attack , compared to Hutao, take it from someone who has both, whenever I see one sided comparison sprout by toxic youtubers, I refuse to sit back, I've couldn't have imagine reliving the dumb tenten era again.
Yoimiya is clearly made for mobile comfort like Ganyu while still being solid DPS I never cared about abyss rank cause there’s plenty pyro characters to compare before including others like Ei or Ganyu, I usually would recommend Ei havers like me to to skip her for new characters but Xianyun is so far very limited so pulling Ei cons or waiting for Furina is better.
I got her today accidentally but I'm happy and not sad. Cause i have other bows and diluc artifacts. I'm happy to have yoimiya as my 1st pyro dps unit of my 2 year old account.

As yoimiya haver she is definitely a comfort pull for mobile player, a boss slayer and a range unit, but of course she isn't perfect but for me she is still good character for people who use mobile or people who her personality in game
As a Yoimiya player I think this was a very fair and even generous character review. She's not the best option for the Abyss and many Yoimiya-stans know it, however I find because she just so easy to use that can translate into better damage. As you pointed out dodging really isn't that difficult if you're not using a shield. I think she's great for artifact farming even though groups of enemies is not her thing (granted I am AR60 with a C3 Yoimiya). Other characters may win my favor from time to time, but I keep going back to Yoimiya because she's "best girl".
Yoimiya team building: the thing most people often miss: she's not only an excellent main dps. She's also excellent as a 2nd dps. Say you're running the team with Baizhu like in this vid (Baizhu - Furina - Yelan - Yoimiya) here in this case the bloom would would still be the main damage source, and you'd spent like 6-10s setting up for the bloom and for Yelan. Yoimiya fills that downtime. Her E is 6s active with 15s cooldown (3 full NA chain at normal speed. skip the animation at the end.) so you'll have that 9s. Furthermore: because her ult doesn't activate that often + with how burgeon works, she doesn't exactly ruin a bloom team setup. Another option for easy play/mobile players (I played mobile for the first 2 years) is Ganyu - Yoimiya combination. This is a straightforward team: you shoot everything with Ganyu -> once they get close, Ganyu Q & switch to Yoimiya. You can fill the other 2 with.. say: Kazuha and Kokomi. Or Jean C2 and Kokomi. Or Xingqiu + Kuki. These days you have Navia, too. Atm I'm running Yoimiya on the team they use in showcase for Navia, with changes. Navia - Yoimiya - Yunjin - Furina in place of Yelan. Furina for the buff + emergency healing. Beside: it frees up Yelan for other teams.
As someone who has been a Yoimiya wanter for forever, when I finally got her, I maxed her out at 10/10/10, ran her with her best teams (xq yelan zl, yunjin xq bennet etc), and all I gotta say is........ Sadly, after 3 months of using her, I went back to other characters. They just deal more damage, are not soooooo single target focussed, and dont require so much vertical investment into. While she's cute and wholesome and all, she's just not that good... sadly.

i had no interest in her at all, but got yomiya went i was building pity. but man I'm I glad I did she is my fave DPS in the game! her playstyle is just so comfy. I really think she is slept on as a support.
@@neo.3I don't think it's ever meant to be a hard hitting AoE damage burst, if anything it acts like a party buff with occasional Pyro application. I like playing her duo carry team style where you quickswap one dps to another.
Not to mention, a braindead version of their kits. Hat Guy and Rizzley actually have some sort of gimmick which adds some dynamic in their gameplay unlike Yoimiya which is just braindead normal attack spamming... can't even dash XD
What are peoples don’t seem to understand is that she is incredibly easy to use as she gets the job done. With the help of yelan She does well and mobs. She’s also a waifu.
I love playing Yoimiya. I just wish they didn't drop the ball on her burst. She is so fun to use already wihtout her burst doing anything basicly, so imagine how awesome she could have been with a proper burst.
Absolutely does not regret hyper investing into my yoimiya, she's my best built character and im proud to say that i can confidently pick my yoimiya over some of my best five stars in the abbyss and still perform really well ! ( For info mine's lvl 90, triple crowned, with signature weapon, and the crit ratio is 73 / 260 :D )
I just got yoimiya in 4.3 after finally being guaranteed. And i dont care what the hilichurls say, i love her and i mained her right away after building (i prefarmed after the 4.3 leaks). I was glad that i had some good shimenawa temporarily on keqing so using her was instant.
21:37. Ok, then try wanderer, faruzan ( anemo resonance), yelan and..... Healer I guess, idk it's flex. Go Bennet for healing plus buffing or jean for anemo particles yo faruzan Between yelan and wanderer you just never run out of stamina, you're very fast, more than yoimia's team. You also kill things fast, probably faster than yoimia
Yoimiya was my 2nd 5 star and 1st DPS. It is still my most used DPS, in the overworld, clearing domains or even the Abyss. It's so easy to use, ranged, no need to even look for the enemies. I got Hu Tao later but in practice she is a worst DPS, even if she is better in theory.
got her weapon early like 40-45 pt, also got raiden and im so happy that i can finally use her bow cause i used rust r2 or r3 earlier in abyss because aqua was on my tighnari,luckily just got one eye of perception so it's even better
Been waiting for this one! Might try running her with Xingqiu/Baizhu. Hopefully that works! Otherwise I’m gonna struggle because I don’t have Furina or Yelan :/ P.S. I was in the middle of my first watch and I quit the app, power cycled my Apple TV, signed out and back in….then it finally updated to tell me it went private when i finally went back to my phone to watch it 😂. as a f2p player who barely spends time on grinding primos, i still pulled for yoimiya cuz its not always about the damage numbers but tis who u have fun to play with.
I love Yoimiya and ive had her since her first banner! Shes been kinda hit or miss in the abyss but her playstyle is so much fun. If people have this expensive team of Furina, Yelan and Baizhu i highly recommend that team with the MH set on Yoimiya! It helps with her aoe problems as well
Despite having a Hu Tao with Homa, I still find myself using Yoimiya more for that reason you mentioned - the ease of use. It just cannot be understated how her ungabunga playstyle is just so appealing to players like me and it's not like Yoimiya has ever hit a brick wall when it comes to clearing the abyss. While I'm not entirely sure that every account needs a Pyro on-field DPS at all when Xiangling exists, having that ungabunga ranged Pyro option really does help out after you've gotten all of Yoimiya's supports.
I can't agree more on the overworld thing ! I love having characters that doesn't rely on there burst for overworld as the fight are short but stretch on longer period/distance. That's why I like having Yoimiya, Shinobu, Layla/ZL and Fischl : no burst is needed here, and damage is good and simple to dish out. Wanderer is a good option too, as he makes exploring really easy (but I hate this psychopathic dude !) Edit : I posted before the end of the video and I'm happy to hear that you have mostly the same opinion as me about the Wanderer ^^
She was clowned on at launch because she was bugged at release , was a discount hutao and the teeny tiny little detail of her banner being put right before RAIDEN;s .The only way people aren't skipping that is if goku is on the goddamn banner
Overall my favourite Yoimiya team is still Beidou, Yoimiya, Xingqiu and Yun Jin. Beidou + Xingqiu together result in ~79,3% (exact value depends on Talent levels) dmg reduction, which in addition with the crystalize shields makes for a very comfy team to run. Running Yun Jin instead of Bennett does increase the quality of life further by becoming independent of any circle, which especially with 'pushy' enemies is quite noticeable. The only downside being Beidou requiring A LOT of ER but its quite manageable, even without counters. As well as this team not reaching the highest dps compared to other setups, but when is this ever an actual issue...

Please try her with Baizhu Furina Yelan. It gives her the teamwide healing for Furina, the odd burgeon here and there (she builds some EM substats so it's not neglible) and it provides her with small shields to help with interruption resistance and does not force her into circle impact.
A way to buff Yoimiya without buffing other characters would be to make an artifact set the following bonuses: 2Pc Bonus "+15% Pyro Damage" (or "+18% Attack") 4Pc bonus "Increases Normal Attack damage by 25% (or 20) for every consecutive Normal Attack. This effect stacks up to 4 (or 5) times." This would directly buff mostly only Yoimiya (would buff Yanfei also). The in parentheses would be better in general, especially for all pure normal attacking characters that have a 6-hit combo, which is rare. Yoimiya's total 5 hit combo from all 7 of her shots amounts to 428.6. Yoimiya's damage modifier from SR is 642.9 (50%) = 642.9 Yoimiya scaling damage 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% = 669.25 This means this theoretical set would be a measly 4% buff to Yoimiya's damage in a 5-hit combo, but if you can continue to attack with her without interruption it's far more effective dealing 857.2 (33%) more damage than SR. That alone would be a very enjoyable buff to Yoimiya.
My overworld team has become Wriothesley, Xiang, Bennett and Yoimiya. I just like punching or auto-target pewpewing, it feels really nice. It's not optimal but meh, it's fun.
i pulled yoimiya a while ago and she's one of my favorite units. her damage isn't the best, i can build her better, but she's also just plain fun to use. she my pew pew queen ur honor. my go-to is yoi-xq-benny-zl or yoi-xq-yj-zl, but i think i should try more combinations now. but yeah she's so fun for overworld and for murdering timmy's pigeons
I used to be a Hu Tao main, got very fond of Yoimiya's character, pulled for her, and let me tell you I've never been able to go back to Hu Tao ever since. The ease of gameplay is just that good, if Hu Tao's gameplay isn't your cup of tea. And with more bosses being added to the abyss, AND with Chevreuse being added, I can see Yoimiya's value improving greatly. I've always been a Yoimiya truther from the very start 😤
5:19 You don't need to do Kazuha burst with Yoimiya. You need to do this only on Hu Tao and Xiangling, which is indeed more of a hassle since they don't work well with solo Yelan, but Yoimiya does not need extra hydro app. This makes Yoimiya vv vape is easier to setup than other characters. Yelan EQ > Bennett Q > Kazuha hold E > Yoi E is enough You also did not shred pyro res because with hydro Kazuha burst it's harder to swirl Pyro, and you vaporized instead (see 5:21). This is why VV vape setup on XL and Hu Tao is hard, but easier on Yoimiya. You don't need kazuha burst, which makes it harder to swirl Pyro
23:37 hmm to buff Yoimiya, what about a character with a stacking nuke ability based off number of normals like this? Spawn a shrapnel bomb that flies over enemies. For 9 seconds, each time a unique normal attack hits, it drops shrapnel on the enemies below and gains a stack for its final explosion, up to 12 stacks. The bomb repositions each time an enemy is hit by a normal attack. At the end of that 9 second duration, the bomb explodes with scaling based off the number of stacks. To detonate the bomb early, trigger this skill / burst again. Early detonation generates elemental particles that must be picked up, based on remaining duration. Properties: It gives Yoimiya AOE over its whole duration, and it doesn’t trivialize the combat because the big damage is still an end nuke that you need to control to avoid overkill or missing. Since it counts unique normal hits, big AOE normals like Noelle and Ayato won’t be counted multiple times. (It would still work well for Ayato because his attacks are fast, but it won’t do quadratic scaling or anything broken.) You may get fun combos for DPS Zhongli and other multi-hit polearms as well. Co-op players would charge it up easily even with claymores, but that’s fine. The support character with that ability could also be used as a pure battery that deals nearly no damage (like electro traveler) by triggering and immediately early detonating to just get the energy. It can have special ICD to avoid Fischl A4 or Xiangling burst chaos.
although im an hu tao main since her first rerun, i still want yoimiya... hitting charge attacks with hu tao doesn't really feel that good... (is probably just a skill issue) il probably pull for weapon and if i get thundering il get yoimiya haha.

I’m still undecided. I have R5 rust but then my CRIT RATIO is 70/111. 😢 This is the only reason why I really want to pull for thundering pulse! 😢 I want to balance my Yoimiya’s Crit Ratio. 😢 I love my 5 stars and I always want their signature weapons after wishing for them.
Am I the only one who never had an issue with her lack of aoe. She just deletes one enemy and then the other kinda like hot potato. Anyway she was my favorite to bring for phase 2. Yoi, Yelan, Benny, Zhongli
I am hoping for an electro character that supports normal attacks. Would be nice in an Ayato taser team, or a Yoimiya overload team. Especially with Chevreuse now, an electro that would buff Yoimiya would be great, especially with some decent application.
Been waiting for Yoimiya since the game forced me to do her story quest for Inazuma progression a few months ago. She's a pretty unimportant character in the story, but she nails the 'cute girl next door' vibe and her English VA has an adorably non-standard tinge to her voice. I pulled Hu tao a few months ago to get a consistent Fire-based DPS, but Hu Tao's playstyle for optimum play is annoying + I don't care for Hu Tao all that much as a character to boot. Would love to pull more on the Navia banner to get more Candace's, but I can't risk my guarantee with Yoimiya so close.
Unimportant to the story when her distractions gave us a lot of leeway, she actively kept the island happy on dark times and smuggled around vision users?
@@neko4069 imma be real, I forgot the fireworks thing in the story entirely. The rest of that stuff, iirc, is only explored in her story quest which, good for her but isn't relevant to the story proper, where she had about as much impact as Sayu. She did a thing then vanished basically.
@@Renteka-Bond inazuma story was really. . . Weird. Bad to me, even. But I thjnk she was used well, she played the role she's supposed to play and didn't overstay her welcome or drag out her part. Her story quest is dedicated to HER. Not the archon quest, so those fireworks are fine not doing anything for the plot. Ayaka's dance didn't either yk. At least she wasn't dragged off and then ended up fully useless like the swordfish.
@@neko4069 I don't disagree, I thought Inazuma was dog shit and I was glad to be out of there asap. My initial point, to clarify, was that in the story the game makes you do, Yoimiya is unimportant. Like, you could replace Yoimiya's role of setting up the fireworks with any random NPC (like her generic dad model" and literally nothing about the plot or other characters would change in the slightest. I like Yoimiya (it's why I dedicated all my resources to FINALLY get her today and ignored Raiden because I think she's lame as hell), but she's a footnote to the events that actually matter in Genshin. Also, Ayaka's lame too, her dance was, to me, super awkward. Don't much care for her either, but she was actually integral to the plot outside of just doing a specific task, the plot just sucked, haha.

My favorite Yoimiya team is with Kazuha Xingqiu and Bennett. Just be cautious and swirl pyro instead of hydro. If you're facing tough opponents then you can swap Kazuha with Zhongli.
Forgot you can also use diona or Layla as defensive option . and you can use echoes if you have 20-30 ping or less it’s comparable to shim

It still just blows my mind that Yoimiya, the fireworks explosion girl, has virtually no meaningful AoE damage.

People refuse to believe that because most don't know how to do math. Getting EVERY shot buffed is more than having a buff and a shot that might not vape every 3 hits.

She has consistently reached the top 10 DPS for a speedrunner I follow. She did fall off to a close 11th after Fontaine released until Furina’s banner bumped her back up.
His team was VV vape, full disclosure, his supports are cracked. That said, his Yoimiya is c0, competing with c6 dps

Mika is one of the only characters that buffs attack speed and heals, so he might be worth investing in if you have him!
I think if you're good at aiming, there's a way too machine gun woth her that way but it seems really tedious.

I'm so happy I got Yoimiya on her original banner. Loved her design and personality and turns out her playstyle was just perfect for me. Started using her with Fischl, Zhongli and Xingqiu and still using her in overvape (but with Yelan instead of Xingqiu) and this team continues to be my favourite gameplay-wise to this day :D

I remember when Yoimiya first came out I, pulled for her but lost the 50/50. Tried again on her rerun but lost the 50/50 AGAIN. I had enough and decided to stop wishing till she had her next rerun and lo and behold she had THE FASTEST rerun of all time and I finally got her. Double Crowned when she finally came home and I have enjoyed using her ever since.

Most of guides just skip it, even saying 0 EM build is fine, when it's actually not. Specially for Vape tems.
Having around 100 ~ 200 EM on yoimiya makes a Huge difference when she crits .

The thing i often do is i use her as a turret, put a zhongli pillar, yelan Q, raiden E, and then yoimiya E and let the missles find there targets while standing on top of the pillar 😂

I have Ayaka and Ei. This will be the best time for me to get her. I've wanted her since her debute. Have R5 rust and everything. After Yoimiya i shall save for Neuvillette or Furina or Kazuha.
I like her as a charachter she is really fun and some abysses she really shines in, like when they give those flying drakes.
For me her biggest issue is not that she is single target, I mean you are aware of that when you choose her), but that you can not choose who she targets if the enemies are somewhat close together. Not being able to prioritize targets can be a pain. Like those two kairagi you have to sorta kill simultaneously

Baizhu, Yoimiya, Yelan and Furina is the premier team. Absolutely wipes everything single target or AOE.
This has been my go to yoimiya team since furina’s release. Completely eliminates her AOE issues, and does really good single target damage as well.
Same here I prefer baizhu to Jean! Yoimiya has single target covered a bit of temporary res shred you have to shape the rotation around isn’t worth it compared to burgeon’s AoE on a yoimiya already built with a decent amount of EM (particularly because my yoi doesn’t have a goblet in a furina team).
Plus his skill based healing and passive make him so comfy for overworld so you aren’t popping jeans burst on two hilichurls. He also greatly helps with hydro shields.
Plus yoimiya has weirdly deceptive range on her normals for activating burgeons, each arrow seems to have a fat pyro tunnel around it and her burst is actually useful in the team for proccing cores (although the ally ATK buff is wasted).
I’ve never really ran my yoimiya with a dedicated shielder as I’ve always been fine with her range for avoiding most interruptions but baizhus little shields are a good compromise to using a shielder, saving your combo from the odd hit here and there. Honestly such a good combo!
I've never been so happy that Baizhu has support capabilities, I've been waiting for an unga-bunga team to use with Yoimiya as main DPS when I played (Yoi + Raiden, XQ + Baizhu)
Nahida is a great option of course, but I suck at dodging so I can't really take the risk of damage XD
thats just a shittier double hydro team, change it to hutao furina yelan jean and youll get better results unless u got skill issues

A really good overview of Yoimiya! I tend not to like quickswappy teams, and I really like characters who really do a lot of attacks through their normals. She was also great for me as I was getting used to the game in general.
Her streamlined kit with good strength and flexible teams and autotargeting has made her a staple whenever I'm wandering around Teyvat or when I need to tackle most weekly bosses. It takes a little bit of practice getting used to when to dodge and dash, but overall her playstyle is very clean and she can put out impressive numbers even with okay-ish Shim pieces.
I've mainly used her with hydro characters like Xingqiu and Yelan, but I'll be pulling on the upcoming banners and hoping for a Chevreuse to open up more possibilities.
She’s really fun to play with. I wasn’t looking for her the first time she came out, and I got her in like my 13th or 14th wish while I was trying to build up my pity. She ended up being one of my favorites.
Thanks for the helpful guide! She may not be the best choice but I don’t like Hu tao and XiangLing. Actually my choice of pyro characters are not good… the other is Klee… but I love her. Yoimiya is also a lovable character so I really want her. Her kansai dialect in the Japanese voice is awesome too. I’m a mobile player so her auto attacks would be so comfortable. Honestly I think there should be more bow characters using normal attacks.
“If Wanderer was a cute girl” made my day! As Wanderer main, I can’t play in the overworld without him. I could actually play him anywhere but the only wall I hit with him is when the enemy is anemo-resist/immune. Since he’s a catalyst he has no physical damage. I think Yoimiya would be less in that problem since her normal attacks would be leveled maybe her physical damage would be decent? I think I saw Yoimiya’s charged attack does missile to enemy, which I think so cool. Indeed she’s a mobile user’s hero!
A little Yoimiya artifact trick: Yoimiya is one char that can actually benefit from having atk goblet as opposed to the elemental damage.
It's because while in a perfect situation, she'll only be out for the duration of her E, in reality you will have a lot of situation where you just can't be arsed to use your E (especially if you use Shimenawa 4p)

She used to be my main back in the day due to how easy her game play is, and doesn't rely on burst is a huge bonus in overworld. Until I got Wanderer, the boy completely dominates her in all of her strong aspects AND he can fly😂 now he's my go to in overworld
Thank you for pointing her Burst aoe out as I find other Content creators even Today refuse to mention that part of her kit, if properly positioned her Burst does guarantee some good aoe potential even more so if there's Vape with Yelan. Aoe isn't really a factor for her as she is able to run Fischl Beidou compared to Hutao which does not want them, Yoimiya also one of the few that allows Yelan to maximize her 12-13 assist attack , compared to Hutao, take it from someone who has both, whenever I see one sided comparison sprout by toxic youtubers, I refuse to sit back, I've couldn't have imagine reliving the dumb tenten era again.
Yoimiya is clearly made for mobile comfort like Ganyu while still being solid DPS I never cared about abyss rank cause there’s plenty pyro characters to compare before including others like Ei or Ganyu, I usually would recommend Ei havers like me to to skip her for new characters but Xianyun is so far very limited so pulling Ei cons or waiting for Furina is better.
I got her today accidentally but I'm happy and not sad. Cause i have other bows and diluc artifacts. I'm happy to have yoimiya as my 1st pyro dps unit of my 2 year old account.
PSA: leaks say the 4.4 abyss will have both ruin serpent and wenut on second half of floor 12, so those who have yoi levelled but benched might wanna bring her back for at least one more abyss

Yoimiya is the only character outside of Archons to have a second Character Quest chapter. Maybe she's the actual Pyro Archon.
As yoimiya haver she is definitely a comfort pull for mobile player, a boss slayer and a range unit, but of course she isn't perfect but for me she is still good character for people who use mobile or people who her personality in game
I just got Thundering Pulse, when trying got get Engulfing Lightning. Now I'm retouching her build and enjoying playing her again.
As a Yoimiya player I think this was a very fair and even generous character review. She's not the best option for the Abyss and many Yoimiya-stans know it, however I find because she just so easy to use that can translate into better damage. As you pointed out dodging really isn't that difficult if you're not using a shield. I think she's great for artifact farming even though groups of enemies is not her thing (granted I am AR60 with a C3 Yoimiya). Other characters may win my favor from time to time, but I keep going back to Yoimiya because she's "best girl".
Yoimiya team building: the thing most people often miss: she's not only an excellent main dps. She's also excellent as a 2nd dps.
Say you're running the team with Baizhu like in this vid (Baizhu - Furina - Yelan - Yoimiya) here in this case the bloom would would still be the main damage source, and you'd spent like 6-10s setting up for the bloom and for Yelan.
Yoimiya fills that downtime. Her E is 6s active with 15s cooldown (3 full NA chain at normal speed. skip the animation at the end.) so you'll have that 9s.
Furthermore: because her ult doesn't activate that often + with how burgeon works, she doesn't exactly ruin a bloom team setup.
Another option for easy play/mobile players (I played mobile for the first 2 years) is Ganyu - Yoimiya combination.
This is a straightforward team: you shoot everything with Ganyu -> once they get close, Ganyu Q & switch to Yoimiya. You can fill the other 2 with.. say: Kazuha and Kokomi. Or Jean C2 and Kokomi. Or Xingqiu + Kuki.
These days you have Navia, too.
Atm I'm running Yoimiya on the team they use in showcase for Navia, with changes.
Navia - Yoimiya - Yunjin - Furina in place of Yelan. Furina for the buff + emergency healing. Beside: it frees up Yelan for other teams.

As someone who has been a Yoimiya wanter for forever, when I finally got her, I maxed her out at 10/10/10, ran her with her best teams (xq yelan zl, yunjin xq bennet etc), and all I gotta say is........
Sadly, after 3 months of using her, I went back to other characters. They just deal more damage, are not soooooo single target focussed, and dont require so much vertical investment into. While she's cute and wholesome and all, she's just not that good... sadly.

What are peoples don’t seem to understand is that she is incredibly easy to use as she gets the job done. With the help of yelan She does well and mobs. She’s also a waifu.

Absolutely does not regret hyper investing into my yoimiya, she's my best built character and im proud to say that i can confidently pick my yoimiya over some of my best five stars in the abbyss and still perform really well ! ( For info mine's lvl 90, triple crowned, with signature weapon, and the crit ratio is 73 / 260 :D )

I just got yoimiya in 4.3 after finally being guaranteed. And i dont care what the hilichurls say, i love her and i mained her right away after building (i prefarmed after the 4.3 leaks). I was glad that i had some good shimenawa temporarily on keqing so using her was instant.

Between yelan and wanderer you just never run out of stamina, you're very fast, more than yoimia's team. You also kill things fast, probably faster than yoimia
Yoimiya was my 2nd 5 star and 1st DPS. It is still my most used DPS, in the overworld, clearing domains or even the Abyss. It's so easy to use, ranged, no need to even look for the enemies.
I got Hu Tao later but in practice she is a worst DPS, even if she is better in theory.

I love Yoimiya and ive had her since her first banner! Shes been kinda hit or miss in the abyss but her playstyle is so much fun. If people have this expensive team of Furina, Yelan and Baizhu i highly recommend that team with the MH set on Yoimiya! It helps with her aoe problems as well

Despite having a Hu Tao with Homa, I still find myself using Yoimiya more for that reason you mentioned - the ease of use. It just cannot be understated how her ungabunga playstyle is just so appealing to players like me and it's not like Yoimiya has ever hit a brick wall when it comes to clearing the abyss. While I'm not entirely sure that every account needs a Pyro on-field DPS at all when Xiangling exists, having that ungabunga ranged Pyro option really does help out after you've gotten all of Yoimiya's supports.
Yeah. Auto attacks and no charge shots required after using skill. The reason Ganyu haters use or love Yoimiya.

I love having characters that doesn't rely on there burst for overworld as the fight are short but stretch on longer period/distance.
That's why I like having Yoimiya, Shinobu, Layla/ZL and Fischl : no burst is needed here, and damage is good and simple to dish out. Wanderer is a good option too, as he makes exploring really easy (but I hate this psychopathic dude !)

She was clowned on at launch because she was bugged at release , was a discount hutao and the teeny tiny little detail of her banner being put right before RAIDEN;s .The only way people aren't skipping that is if goku is on the goddamn banner
Overall my favourite Yoimiya team is still Beidou, Yoimiya, Xingqiu and Yun Jin.
Beidou + Xingqiu together result in ~79,3% (exact value depends on Talent levels) dmg reduction, which in addition with the crystalize shields makes for a very comfy team to run.
Running Yun Jin instead of Bennett does increase the quality of life further by becoming independent of any circle, which especially with 'pushy' enemies is quite noticeable.
The only downside being Beidou requiring A LOT of ER but its quite manageable, even without counters. As well as this team not reaching the highest dps compared to other setups, but when is this ever an actual issue...
Surprisingly strong character that can really shine at times in the abyss, feels pretty unique to play as well

the yoimiya yelan infinite vape is just extremely satisfying.
Please try her with Baizhu Furina Yelan. It gives her the teamwide healing for Furina, the odd burgeon here and there (she builds some EM substats so it's not neglible) and it provides her with small shields to help with interruption resistance and does not force her into circle impact.
I’m so sad that it’s speculated that Nahida is running in the first 1/2 of 4.4 because I would TOTALLY wish for Yoimiya and I gotta save for her.
A way to buff Yoimiya without buffing other characters would be to make an artifact set the following bonuses:
2Pc Bonus "+15% Pyro Damage" (or "+18% Attack")
4Pc bonus "Increases Normal Attack damage by 25% (or 20) for every consecutive Normal Attack. This effect stacks up to 4 (or 5) times."
This would directly buff mostly only Yoimiya (would buff Yanfei also). The in parentheses would be better in general, especially for all pure normal attacking characters that have a 6-hit combo, which is rare.
Yoimiya's total 5 hit combo from all 7 of her shots amounts to 428.6.
Yoimiya's damage modifier from SR is 642.9 (50%) = 642.9
Yoimiya scaling damage 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% = 669.25
This means this theoretical set would be a measly 4% buff to Yoimiya's damage in a 5-hit combo, but if you can continue to attack with her without interruption it's far more effective dealing 857.2 (33%) more damage than SR.
That alone would be a very enjoyable buff to Yoimiya.

My overworld team has become Wriothesley, Xiang, Bennett and Yoimiya. I just like punching or auto-target pewpewing, it feels really nice. It's not optimal but meh, it's fun.

i pulled yoimiya a while ago and she's one of my favorite units. her damage isn't the best, i can build her better, but she's also just plain fun to use. she my pew pew queen ur honor. my go-to is yoi-xq-benny-zl or yoi-xq-yj-zl, but i think i should try more combinations now. but yeah she's so fun for overworld and for murdering timmy's pigeons

I used to be a Hu Tao main, got very fond of Yoimiya's character, pulled for her, and let me tell you I've never been able to go back to Hu Tao ever since. The ease of gameplay is just that good, if Hu Tao's gameplay isn't your cup of tea. And with more bosses being added to the abyss, AND with Chevreuse being added, I can see Yoimiya's value improving greatly.

5:19 You don't need to do Kazuha burst with Yoimiya. You need to do this only on Hu Tao and Xiangling, which is indeed more of a hassle since they don't work well with solo Yelan, but Yoimiya does not need extra hydro app. This makes Yoimiya vv vape is easier to setup than other characters. Yelan EQ > Bennett Q > Kazuha hold E > Yoi E is enough
You also did not shred pyro res because with hydro Kazuha burst it's harder to swirl Pyro, and you vaporized instead (see 5:21). This is why VV vape setup on XL and Hu Tao is hard, but easier on Yoimiya. You don't need kazuha burst, which makes it harder to swirl Pyro
23:37 hmm to buff Yoimiya, what about a character with a stacking nuke ability based off number of normals like this?
Spawn a shrapnel bomb that flies over enemies. For 9 seconds, each time a unique normal attack hits, it drops shrapnel on the enemies below and gains a stack for its final explosion, up to 12 stacks. The bomb repositions each time an enemy is hit by a normal attack. At the end of that 9 second duration, the bomb explodes with scaling based off the number of stacks.
To detonate the bomb early, trigger this skill / burst again. Early detonation generates elemental particles that must be picked up, based on remaining duration.
Properties:
It gives Yoimiya AOE over its whole duration, and it doesn’t trivialize the combat because the big damage is still an end nuke that you need to control to avoid overkill or missing.
Since it counts unique normal hits, big AOE normals like Noelle and Ayato won’t be counted multiple times. (It would still work well for Ayato because his attacks are fast, but it won’t do quadratic scaling or anything broken.)
You may get fun combos for DPS Zhongli and other multi-hit polearms as well.
Co-op players would charge it up easily even with claymores, but that’s fine.
The support character with that ability could also be used as a pure battery that deals nearly no damage (like electro traveler) by triggering and immediately early detonating to just get the energy.
It can have special ICD to avoid Fischl A4 or Xiangling burst chaos.
although im an hu tao main since her first rerun, i still want yoimiya... hitting charge attacks with hu tao doesn't really feel that good... (is probably just a skill issue) il probably pull for weapon and if i get thundering il get yoimiya haha.

Am I the only one who never had an issue with her lack of aoe.
She just deletes one enemy and then the other kinda like hot potato. Anyway she was my favorite to bring for phase 2.

I am hoping for an electro character that supports normal attacks. Would be nice in an Ayato taser team, or a Yoimiya overload team. Especially with Chevreuse now, an electro that would buff Yoimiya would be great, especially with some decent application.

Been waiting for Yoimiya since the game forced me to do her story quest for Inazuma progression a few months ago. She's a pretty unimportant character in the story, but she nails the 'cute girl next door' vibe and her English VA has an adorably non-standard tinge to her voice. I pulled Hu tao a few months ago to get a consistent Fire-based DPS, but Hu Tao's playstyle for optimum play is annoying + I don't care for Hu Tao all that much as a character to boot.
Would love to pull more on the Navia banner to get more Candace's, but I can't risk my guarantee with Yoimiya so close.
Unimportant to the story when her distractions gave us a lot of leeway, she actively kept the island happy on dark times and smuggled around vision users?
@@neko4069 imma be real, I forgot the fireworks thing in the story entirely. The rest of that stuff, iirc, is only explored in her story quest which, good for her but isn't relevant to the story proper, where she had about as much impact as Sayu. She did a thing then vanished basically.

Bad to me, even. But I thjnk she was used well, she played the role she's supposed to play and didn't overstay her welcome or drag out her part.
Her story quest is dedicated to HER. Not the archon quest, so those fireworks are fine not doing anything for the plot. Ayaka's dance didn't either yk.
At least she wasn't dragged off and then ended up fully useless like the swordfish.
@@neko4069 I don't disagree, I thought Inazuma was dog shit and I was glad to be out of there asap.
My initial point, to clarify, was that in the story the game makes you do, Yoimiya is unimportant. Like, you could replace Yoimiya's role of setting up the fireworks with any random NPC (like her generic dad model" and literally nothing about the plot or other characters would change in the slightest.
I like Yoimiya (it's why I dedicated all my resources to FINALLY get her today and ignored Raiden because I think she's lame as hell), but she's a footnote to the events that actually matter in Genshin.
Also, Ayaka's lame too, her dance was, to me, super awkward. Don't much care for her either, but she was actually integral to the plot outside of just doing a specific task, the plot just sucked, haha.

as someone who finds Japanese culture interesting, i am set to collect all the inazuma character regardless, and will try to make them work. this is good timing, thanks you :D excited to get Yoimiya.
My favorite Yoimiya team is with Kazuha Xingqiu and Bennett. Just be cautious and swirl pyro instead of hydro. If you're facing tough opponents then you can swap Kazuha with Zhongli.

Yelan can give particles do candace , decreasing the e.r necessary.
