saying that tighnari constellations are easy to get is wild tbh. you can play for years and never get a single copy of a standard 5* you like, let alone seven copies.
@@zukodude487987 you are still not getting 7 copies that way unless you are going to play this game for 7 more years. And tbh genshin peak will end in 2 or 3 years more. I personally keep playing because I am curious about our sibling and our past. Once I know that answer, I am saying bye bye to this game.
been hunting achievements this past week, currently at 1408/1425. all thats left are commission achievements, inazuma fishing, catch 100 animals, and some tcg achievements.
I don't know if this take THAt hot, but Chasca is basically the best character you could get as a new player. She is a strong DPS, has great exploration, very nice vertical movement (if there's a hill that is not 90 degrees, she can just fly up by pressing W), and as long as you have a rainbow team (that you can make with Lisa, Ember and Kaeya if you don't have ANY characters) , she can clear any open world chests/enemies (there is no worse feeling in the game than taking your Neuvillette in open world and being forced to fight a water resistant enemy) After playing her in open world I can't really use anyone else, cause it just feels much worse.
I’ve been preaching this too. She’s far better than Neuvilette in many scenarios. She can solo things even with level 1 team mates or even dead team mates. Other dps characters rely on a team built for them. Chasca just asks that their bodies are in the team.
@@cn8299arlechinno also wants just their bodies on the team. She's the sole dmg dealer. The only thing though I can say that chasca has over her is the versatility to traverse since both of them only want countable bodies on the team.
I very much agree. To say that Chasca was initially an A tier is an insult, even S tier is low balling how good she is. Obviously there are other good characters, that probably do millions of damage, but they require tens of times more investment than Chasca. Literally ON HER OWN, she can do upwards of 10k damage with minimum to moderate preparation while any other SS tier character would struggle to do that. She deserves SS tier.
I would actually go as far as to say, overworld comfort matters more for veteran players especially for dps characters. How good a character is in abyss doesn't matter too much these days when I have like 10+ team archetypes that are abyss ready. However if a character improves my overworld exploration/mob killing drastically, then I will find them worth. Especially since I spend like 30 minutes in abyss per month, vs all the remaining time doing literally anything else.
I'm not sure if you followed the Mavuika beta but the number of people who think only excel numbers matter and ignore the issues of Xiangling who literally only works once a month in spiral abyss is shocking. I think a lot of these people are the ones with like 15% exploration each region that they mostly got from unlocking fast travel points. If you do all content types, it's like 30% story, 60% exploration, 10% endgame (which is further devided between local legends, abyss and IT).
Based, I mean is there really that much difference between Al Haitham, Childe, Arlecchino, Clorinde, etc in terms of gameplay? Would much rather choose Chasca these days.
with that new area, chasca abillity to fly in exploration really feels good man than your flying saurian. Saurian flying experience is not smoth at all and make me dizzy. and they not able to stay still in the air is minus too. sure its "make this close to realism" yea yea yea bla bla bla but cashca riding a fking gun is that real to you? like wth man.
agree with the hang out opinion "because they're boring" isn't a valid argument imo. like... literally just make them better then lol. I wanna learn more about the 4 stars. Like... let me help freminet with his social awkwardness and learn more about his dark past, let me play Xinyan's guitar and do a concert with her, let me swindle people out of their money with Dori and then hit me with mood whiplash by going more into her poverty-filled past, etc.
id like it if they had story quests just like the 5 stars, the picking and choosing and using guides to see all the endings and paths is just too draining to focus on the story
Yeah, I thought some hangouts (thinking of Lynette's) were better than a lot of character story quests. The thing I like about hangouts is you have the option to go back and replay them.
@@kodo_meowHunting for the different endings also ruined some of the hangouts for me. Some of them don’t fit with how the MC conveys themselves in the rest od the plot, like giving Chongyun upset stomach with the chili popsicle.
@@kodo_meow this is a horrible idea, what makes hangouts special is because they're not like story quests set to a specific narrative. theyre supposed to be more casual than that. and besides, youre not supposed to do it all in a single sitting thats just stupid
I personally like the Hang Outs if I go into them with the right mindset (and they can sit until I get to them). The primos and decor they give aren't bad either (though it does make me wish we got pictures from 5☆ story quests).
... I liked the hangouts... Sure they might not be as engaging as the archon quests but I personally am stoked to hang out with the characters. I guess that explains why I keep getting reactions of surprise when I say I have done all of my hangout quests. Everyone else apparently hated them this whole time hahahahaha
I've done all hangouts too... twice 😂 That said, not as much of a fan of the ones before Sumeru. Since Faruzan's, they have been better, imo. I think their unpopularity may be (at least partially) because they are 4* character locked. I think people would be at least a bit more open to do hangouts for the characters they like a lot and 5*s are usually way more hyped than 4*s (I do happen to really like some of the 4*s who got the hangouts and I especially enjoyed their hangouts - for example, Layla, Lynette, Faruzan,...)
@ Fair enough, and I do think you are right in that most of the best hangouts came later. Sure for example I was stoked to hang out with Thoma and Kuki, but as much as I love Thoma and Kuki, Layla's hangout was really good honestly.
Same, i did all the hangout events, and imo most of the storylines are really good! Kaveh's and Layla's are my favourite so far. I'm glad that we were able to learn more about characters that way and get decent amount of primogems. I miss hangout events, in Fontaine we have only Lynette, and that's it?? What about Freminet, Chevreuse, Charlotte, they deserve to get hangout events too 😢
It's weird because I super enjoy that sort of thing, hell I play visual novels, but the only hangouts I've done are ... I think Kuki and Kaeya? I just constantly forget they exist, and when I remember I don't have time or interest to sit down and engage with them properly.
I do enjoy a lot of hangout events but a lot of them felt like mostly a lot of nothing to me, at least story-wise. And that can be fine, its always nice to just have an excuse to hangout with chongyun for instance but it doesnt always make for the most intresting or memorable story or gameplay (especially when you're on a primo grind and you have to redo the same paths over and over to do one thing different, it was even worse before they added a skip button) My favorite by far was definitely faruzan's though, since it added to her lore and had enough good emotional writing to be a whole story quest, and honestly had better writing than some tbh. I also liked beidou's as well giving her more background
Hottest take : Genshin is a game that you can go your own pace, but it does not mean you have to be dumb about the things you do. Play for characters, but do not play like they won't ever come back. A character not winning your attention should not mean you should roll for them even if they are good for your account. Pull for who you wish for, is the biggest part, but also if you have fun with the character. There are tons of things to do in Genshin, but the biggest one is actually playing the game. Abyss, Imaginarium Theater, The Story. You shouldn't obsess on being meta. There is no real meta. Some of the best characters are ones that just have flexibility. Kaeya, Lisa, Traveler (Dendro especially), Xiniqiu, Xiangling, any of the 4 stars in the game can carry you throughout the game. Knowing that you don't need to get a perfect 50% CV on all your artifacts to be good. Just have fun and play the game. Raging that your artifacts didn't roll perfect is not something I consider healthy. And you will eventually get the better ones but don't obsess over change your artifacts by 1% better. Once you have a 1:2 CR / CD. Your golden, you don't need to worry about it. As long as you can comfortably Clear 12-3 Abyss. You don't need new units for your teams. At that point just choose whoever you want to play, Abyss is at that point less of an obstacle and more of a source of primos. Overtime you will garner more primos and the best thing to do is to wait for a full patch to pass before wishing between characters. Another is that Welkin is okay to buy. It doesn't tarnish your experience for buying it. Its a freegame and I often see this game as more of a subscription type game.
Artifact roll is the biggest issue I have in my account, I have spend over one year of farming with everyday resin along with enough condense resin and still didn't get a full set of that artifact. I used all of them in other artifact set for other characters, I got only three decent pieces in that domain. I later gave up in that domain. RNG really matter in this game, and my raging is valid, you can't argue with that
somehow with how recent artefact set works they kinda lessen the punishment for you to that "always searching for crit value" type of artefact. its more less stress than HSR if you even olay that game. Relic farm in HSR is diabolical and Evil. the thing they sprate the Plannar and relic is really bad. ZZZ is the peak confort of what artefact/ relic farm should do
I found the initial Mondstadt exploration pretty boring, but then I wandered into Dragonspine and that's what hooked me on the game. It felt like a proper ADVENTURE and you're stumbling into all these weird ruins and plot hooks that start to mean things like a year later, it just felt so so interesting and fun.
2:50 achievements actually is one of our highest sources of gems in the game for F2P players actually. Many people do achievement hunting so they can get many more gems. It's not a small amount, someone did the math but I don't think I can link stuff here
Also, people achievement hunt in all games, just like I go for all platinum trophies for some of my game series I play (Ex. Like Neptune games, a few horror games, soon to start on FF games platinum runs)
I don't achievement hunt, so correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most achievements not that hard to do? Like once you know they exist most of them don't really need a full on video guide, and even disregarding that, the value only comes in aggregate, so the problem mentioned still persists because an individual achievement is still very little.
@@Munchypotato its not hard to do but its very grindy and they're sometime can be very annoying because some achievment require you to do the whole quest chain or some locked behind the daily commissions which is very rng to get. You could get around 60-70 pull if you finished it all but i would recommend doing that once you 100% exploring everything
@@andyh107 Yeah you're right and I've looked for guides on those kinds of things so they're definitely useful, but I think I lost some detail in saying 'full on video guide.' The problem is those kinds of guides imo are probably not suited for heavy editing, commentary, entertainment value, and general effort that most people go to 'content creators' for. When I look for those guides I want the information in the shortest time possible, and I assume this goes for most people which ultimately does not lend well to a creating a 'brand' or 'identity' and entertaining with. Another way you could look at it is, for most specific achievements, you could probably already find a guide or something that would be far less effort to make, and ultimately probably more informative from simply being more succinct. That being said, maybe a good video idea if it doesn't already exist is simply aggregating easy achievements for large amounts of pulls and a guide for how to do the most in the shortest time possible.
14:10 that is a HOT take??? As an Indian, Sumeru left me speechless on how well they researched, respected and integrated the cultural, historical, architectural, musical, and lot of other components into their story. And the feeling that "okay if they're cooking so much that nobody will even understand the brilliance of 80% of the stuff they included unless you're from that region" - you look at other regions with just as much curiosity, appreciation and respect when you go to another part of teyvat. I think this is not just a HOT take but also a very very bad one. The chilli has already rotted. And oh my God they absolutely blew me away with almost every single track. I even play an Indian classical instrument (Tabla) for many years and it's insane to see people worldwide hard vibing to it. I still can't believe this is a hot take. This is like a MAJOR source of why I enjoy Genshin this much (not just Sumeru, but every region. EVERY!).
When I saw Fontaine as a French I was definitively less impressed than other regions but it also feels cool to be represented. Sumeru is def among my favorite region! It's definitely a selling point for Genshin.
True!! I am also an Indian, as much I like sumeru my fav will be natlan ngl. I enjoy both of these nations music a lot and everytime I hear them I get goosebumps and it's the best feeling
As a persian i agree with you. Sumeru was blend of persian, indian and maybe arab's cultural, architectural identity and it was obvious that they made a lot of efforts to investigate their culture to demonstrate it perfectly.
For me I like getting all the achievements for completion, but also just because they give small primogems, doesn't mean they don't stack up to be something like a few wishes which can possibly give the 5* I'm pulling for.
The reason why "hyperbloom is good" is cause you can easily and quickly get the damage threshold to 36* abyss in a relatively shorter amount of time. There was a simulation in simpact database where it was literally coded to press random buttons (that's binded to character controls) and it still was able to output a DPS threshold that's enough to 36* abyss (though genshin has been experimenting with the hp multiplyers in abyss recently) and not because it deals "an amazing amount of damage".
@@renren.focalorsme It's fast to gear to a competitive level. You get an EM/EM/EM set on Gilded for your trigger and any Deepwood set on your Dendro and you've achieved nearly enough DPS to clear.
Some genshin players are so deluded with the meta chasing stuff... or rether, excelr dps chasing cause META is supoosed to most effective tactic avalable, not highest damage.
I hope this is a hot take and I don't know if it resonates with others but. I've always had a problem with how condensed resin works. Like I never understood why we have a set limit for it. It kind of incentives for you to keep farming everyday when in reality we could just not... Like say I want to play the game but I don't want to grind, especially if I'm waiting to build a character. I would rather wait until Sunday when every character mats and weapon mats are available and grind there. Especially since not everyone has the freetime to play everyday much less grind. Maybe this is a part of gacha game culture that I am not aware of, but I don't see any negative sides on this and I believe that whales and casuals alike would like this change. You still need to log in since you have to condense it and the normal resin still caps, just the condense resin's limit should be removed. Pls tell me if there's a problem with this, I want to hear good arguments.
I think they play on people's FOMO. I know a few people who will say they will only use their condensed resin for a given day on a new character they've gotten and then end up spending either their fragile resin or straight up pay for refill instead of just waiting for the next run on the mats, weapon material or even leylines. So they know it's an avenue of revenue even if its not that massive. Money is money
You raise a valid point but critiques is not a hot takes, I understand why they limits the amount of condensed with the maximum resin we can spend in a day is only 200 (three fragiles) when we condense in Sat. I actually surprised with the commissions skipping mechanics by spending resin, and they double down with saving the commission points, after that update I only condense and spend resin with time play less than 10 minutes and I believe I'm not the only one who do this. I think they aims to increase their player's engagement by reducing the pain points but only by a bit. Overflow will come in the future but only after enough players are stopped playing daily, especially the habitual player. Their only decision model is data after all and there's nothing more scary than a red line in otherwise loyal players. This is prisoners' dilemma irl, the only way to force them to change is by changing our behavior but if not enough people do this we lose resin.
Gacha games want you to integrate it in your daily life so that you can keep playing it forever. Brushing your teeth is most probably an autopilot task for you now. They want to achieve this level acceptance from the players
@@pyronado4320 this is the reason. If they let you shift your farming attention to sunday by just banking resin constantly you'd have no reason to engage with the game during the week other than to talk to Katherine (essentially). Zzz and HSR are their secondary games so they let you do that in them. Genshin is intended to be the primary game and needs to be sticky with your attention.
Powerful characters tend to come in "sets." The first "set" was the Archon Set. The next one was the Fatui Set. We're in Natlan now and we've been introduced to another set: The Natlan Heroes Set. It's not that the Natlan characters are uniquely overpowered or OP due to extreme and sudden power creep, just that most of the ones that have been released have been part of a set, and so are overpowered by the nature of character sets. Edit: Because there was some confusion in the replies, the Archon Set is the Archons released so far. Same for Fatui and the Natlan Heroes. Requirements to be a "set" are that there is a known number and that they have significant story relevance so they can have some level of popularity. Sets have to have a "collect 'em all" aspect to them.
@@therealbatman2699 No, I mean the Archon Set is made up of the Archons. Possibly Neuvillette as well now that he is the throne of Hydro. The Fatui Set is made up of the Fatui Harbingers. Specifically: Childe, Hat Guy, and Arlecchino ATM. Childe was quite OP when he was released, but unfortunately has fallen off quite a bit as of late. The Natlan heroes are one from each clan. Ororon is the only 4 star, though we don't know the details of the Collective of Plenty's hero (I forget her name). He's quite good for a 4 star, from my understanding, and Xilonen, Kinich, Mualani, and Chasca are all quite powerful.
The Take about Genshin at 15:06 about being a generous gacha game is definitely not a Hot take. This Community just act like spoiled brats. People that are not a tourists in the Gacha space knows and appreciate Genshin's generosity. Looking back at it... Genshin generosity in proportion to how good of a game it is is insane. Compare that to the old Gacha Games and their stinginess for their garbage PNG's. I can't believe I even tried those "games."
i came to Genshin from Fate Grand Order and holy crap I couldn’t believe people actually complain about it not being generous bc holy shit they don’t realize how good it is, that game is horrendous in terms of any F2p friendliness could it be better? I mean ofc it always could, my guess is a lot of people who complain really have Genshin as their first gatcha game, and Gatchas since it came out have become more generous to compete and as a result people call Genshin ‘ungenerous’
@@OlBlO2l2lllZ that's true, genshin is really good when It comes to that. Genshin problem isn't and Will never be generosity. People are Just spoiled. If only they gave us an endgame i would still be loving the game.
The constant demand and neediness is what keeps Hoyo generous though. If they decided not to give out free primos after a patch there would be a warzone outside their HQ.
I like to think about gacha games in 2 types: new gachas, where the dav actually care about any semblance of quality, popularized by genshin. Then old gacha, cash grab, thats it just a cash grab, like fgo or feh
Strength often *is* ease of use in overworld. As a new player this past summer, I was struggling to clear some of the overworld fights in Simulanka with my main dps Beidou; so when I got Mualani (c1) and was suddenly able to one-shot the Stonehide Lawachurls who had given me so much trouble in Simulanka, it made the overworld feel so much more fun to explore.
Sometimes characters are meant more for Abyss clears but not for casual gameplay or exploration. For example Raiden is super strong and versatile, but you're not gonna waste her burst and nuke one hilichurl that happened to be on your path, so you end up tapping him awkwardly with your spear, or swap to someone else. Same with Cyno, or several other Burst DPSs. It's not saying they're bad - they're just not meant for overworld
@alexandrachernysh7 - you’re not wrong, even just the animations on five-star bursts would start to feel like an annoying waste of time if you had to sit through them for every overworld trash encounter. But would you really qualify Raiden as a burst dps though? Couldn’t you clear trash pretty quickly with her skill + Xingqiu skill? (thanks for the welcome! :))
The best characters to use in the overworld are the ones which don't need particular setups or rely on their burst to deal dmg. Mualani, Arlecchino, Neuvillette are great examples
19:39 Hi, I’m sevy’s math guy (ask her for confirmation if you want). Yes i do agree with that take that said Lisa is a strong character. Very pog. Scrap your keqing and convert to lisa
@@migo.ff69b4 agreed; the issues are that she feels difficult to play when you start out because you lack good enemy awareness, constellations to give her interruption resistance, buffing shielders, etc. And so she gets written off. Which is too bad because catalysts are very powerful in the game and she even ascends with EM which is Goated.
Hot take. Lisa is one of the best characters in the game and the day they release an Anemo/Dendro character/weapon that gives CDR it will completely break her.
9:42 You'd be surprised because I also didn't realize it was a hot take to like the Sabzeruz Festival archon quest! 😭 Personally I love time loops but I think a lot of people got really frustrated with how repetitive it was to them (especially for people that might be replaying it on new accounts). Imo it was actually really cool and it was a direction that I never expected genshin to take so I loved it a lot and it's still one of my favorite quests to this day.
12:34 I think burgeon has bigger issues than lack of AoE hydro and healers. All the good burgeon triggers need loads of ER, reducing the amount of EM you can build (this will be fixed soon). Also, the elements needed in burgeon just don’t work well together unlike hyperbloom. If you apply too much electro in hyperbloom, you get quicken, which you can still bloom off of. If you apply too much pyro in burgeon, you get burning, something you cannot bloom off of and requires 1 app of hydro to remove and another app of hydro to bloom again. Electro charged also helps hyperbloom a ton by increasing the amount of blooms you can create. Put all this together with burgeon’s scaling, it is almost never worth running burgeon if you could hyperbloom instead.
I actually like the hangout quests 😭 they generally feel better than the story quests which rarely center the character. And i like the cute photos you get with the endings.
@@pr0ntab I always feel sad when we are left with no photo from 5* character's story quests! Considering we can't even repeat those quests and the experience is gone forever, unlike the hangout that we could redo anytime. It's such a weird thing the photos are a 4*'s exclusive complimentary gift.
Love the topic, chili rating system, your reaction/responses and rational, and discourse conversation videos on a variety of themes effecting the Genshin community and experience, keep it up Angelo! I LOVE achievements by the way and wish there were far more and incentives, its enjoyable and helps motivate exploring the entire world plus I really enjoy the Hangouts and Character Stories and wish they would focus on making more and better ones and then people would likely enjoy them more if it genuinely helped show more lore or sides of characters we love than their focus on pointless NPCs. Also, love to fellow Clorinde fans
people are overreacting about how "bad" mavuika is as a support. shes not furina-level or anything, but moreso yelan level, and thats still pretty dang good
Your comment that when people think Mualani is bad it's a skill issue is what I've been trying to say the whole time. I am not a speed runner so I don't have to reset ever....... I prefer her complexity to falling asleep with the weight of my finger on the attack button with Neuv....
I've heard Genshin has less powercreep than any other Hoyoverse game, so I'm at least grateful for that. I trust the Genshin devs to keep this up. They've shown that by nerfing Mavuika 20% from her v1 in beta in my view.
Probably not a hot take, but... I think building characters that are not meant to be DPS oriented as a DPS is more rewarding and fun than building characters who are dedicated to DPS. I am currently trying to build Sara and Chevruese, two of my favorite characters in the game, as main DPS units. It's cool seeing characters that people dog on, Like Sara, deal high-ish damage and level world bosses. They will most likely not be viable in the abyss but it's still super fun for me. ( I could not care less about clearing abyss)
One of the Abyss 36 star showcases used Sara plunge (powered by Xianyun of course) to clear Abyss, so it is powerful enough. The video was “Sara Arrow Rain”. It was one of the slightly less meme plunge teams because it had synergy: Sara being Electro can trigger superconduct beside a C6 Rosaria or C0 Mika to get a physical damage buff/debuff. She also uses the attack with the C2 mini crowfeather to give more ATK to Xianyun, followed by the attack buff from her burst on herself before doing the physical plunge attacks.
I disagree with two takes. One: Natlan, it's residents, and playable characters having tech among the tribes is immersion breaking despite the fact that Natlan is in a modern-day era in teyvat just like every other nation we've been to already. I even argued with people claiming that it's doesn't fit Natlan aesthetically even tho it's covered in the tribes respective colors, patterns, and symbols. This has been true for every piece of high tech since our exposure to the first ruin guards and tech based mechanisms in mondstat. Two: You needed to have natlan characters in order to explore Natlan. That's not true at all. I've been exploring Natlan using my free Kachina and the abundance of saurian companions across the whole map. So, the idea/claim that you need to pull Nathan's characters to explore the new region is just a dumb take, imho.
100% agree with everything you said. especially ur first take. i really dont like the high tech stuff in natlan. i wouldve liked it if they left that in fontaine as it really suited the rest of the aesthetic
I'd even say its realistic for Natlan to have some modern tech. Here we have en energy (phlogiston) that can be harnassed to power literally anything. The industrial revolution started near immediately after we managed to develop the steam engine. The ONLY reason why Natlan isn't in the industrial revolution is because their culture prevents them from harming the environment and wildlife. Chasca's story quest proved what they are able to do if they let their morals go to the wayside by inventing jet packs.
I actually think the Natlan character exploration is overvalued, especially since Natlan has been one of the easiest and quickest nations to explore. I do dislike Natlan tech designs. Disliked them from the start. I actually thought I had the hot take until recent discussions.
Exactly this, I see far too many people straight up lying saying you can't play Natlan properly without Natlan characters. I skipped most of them for Pyro Archon and the possibility of Furina re run so I can get her C2 and have explored most of Natlan (pre 5.3) without any of them used in Natlan like that lol. Just Dehya, Kazuha, Father, and Bennett because I'm too used to that low energy team in overworld
@@RareAngelzmy issue is that every time I see people have an issue with Natlan's technology levels, they always put it in context of being not what they pictured in their mind for a tribal culture. And if you know anything about anthropology or history that isn't from popular media you'd realize this is a pretty ignorant and kinda racist/colonial take. Also not forgetting that it's not like they need an industrial base to do half that stuff they have access to magic writing that basically lets them program elements directly to manifest reality.
I have to disagree on some things here: - Achievements are great, and I love hunting for them. They also give a substantial amount of primogems. - Burgeon is quite good, and I think you kind of proved the commenter's point by comparing it to hyperbloom. While obviously not an ideal team, Yanfei, Xingqiu, and Yaoyao together carried me through some tough battles when I was lower AR, before I had good electro characters. Burgeon is also one of, if not THE best team for enemy shield breaking (only geo and some electro shields are resistant). - Finally, I too think that Genshin is the most generous gatcha game I have ever played, hands down.* Cool video, and I always enjoy your analysis! *It's also the ONLY gatcha game I've ever played, lol.
You don’t really have a point of comparison then. Genshin is pretty well known for being one of the stingiest top gacha games haha. Hell Hoyo was giving out free 5-stars in HSR a year into the game vs genshin took nearly 4 years to do the same. I will say it’s gotten a lot better since Natlan though
@@BotanVal It is “well known as…” because it’s the most popular gacha game. Every patchs in genshin has been consistently giving out enough pulls for 1 five star. Even more for big patches. You can lose 50/50? Sure, but the guarantee transfer through banners. Hsr gave out a dps that went out of meta 2 patches later. Also they were able to do it due to the nature of their game being meta oriented. Powercreep is much more common in hsr than in genshin, and i can say this for a lot more games that’s deemed “f2p friendly”.
I’m a HSR player so I’ll talk about powercreep found in these comments… imma be serious, you guys have it really good, HSR and Genshin are both numbers games but Genshin has a resource that HSR doesn’t really have. Genshin can rely on certain mechanics to increase difficulty unlike HSR which was given no actuall core gameplay mechanics that can increase difficulty because the game is so reliant on numbers that the only way the devs can actually increase difficulty is rampant hp inflation which is much worse. The difference is how the different communities see powercreep. I look at Genshin and even though they’re increasing hp, it’s still manageable and you can still use old characters that are kind of the same as other but worse like Hu Tao instead of Arle and clear… in HSR the rapid hp inflation is the cause of powercreep. Powercreep technically exists as the future character are just better in terms of numbers… but if the content in the game doesn’t get scaled around the numbers of the highest damage unit then effectively nothing changes. The game isn’t scaled around Neuv, it would only be a practical problem. The reason the Genshin community starts now is because of this abyss in particular requiring you to use certain units, people have been using Ning for the geo wolf… sure there’s more hp, but this is more an abyss relying on particular mechanics. It may be hell but you can still use all 4* characters the clear at the end of the day… you simply CAN’T do that in HSR anymore unless the end game content caters to them in some way because the 4* options aren’t good enough and the powercreep is MUCH worse in a practical sense because the HP does get scaled around the top tier 5* teams, not just singular characters, but teams, whole teams full of 5* characters which is insane. The people get too caught up in the comparative strength between characters even though literally every character can clear find unless it’s an abyss like this that wants you to use certain options to test your mettle with those units. But every unit still does enough damage, damage is the physical barrier, if you can’t do enough damage with a unit then that’s when powercreep becomes an actual issue. But people get so caught up in comparative strength in Genshin because the game is so easy that they look for other things to be paranoid about which leads them to say “it’s powercreep” when another character just does more damage, yes it’s technically powercreep… but it’s not felt powercreep because they both clear and have enough different play styles that the characters feel unique. In HSR every character just has 3 abilities, there’s no difference in playstyle, you sit there and hit the same 3 button with no mobility options because it’s an inherently more limited turn based games with no combat mechanics except the weakness bar thing which is MAGNITUDES worse than the elemental reaction system in Genshin. I’ve also noticed a weird cognitive dissonance where people in this community say “I want an incentive to use other characters” this abyss incentives you to use other characters that people even used Ning, but then complain when they’re not good enough to do it and don’t want to be forced to use other units… or when they say “I want to play around character downsides not just Neuv click and hold” then you get people, usually that said that as well but say “I don’t want to play around Bennett’s burst though” even though that is a character mechanic you literally have to recognise to maximise its full value… So what the hell do you guys actually want?
Genshin impact have both easy and hard content at the same time , overworld is mostly chill , meanwhile abyss , theatre and local legends are hard mode
@@gianlucagiusti6174 I feel the only stand out ones are Lynette's and Faruzan's. While they did improve since Sumeru, the bar was set really low before that.
As a woman, genshin is one of the less objectifying games, especially in the gatcha game communities. I've seen a full circle moment in fandom space where some fans, especially younger/newer ones, turing into puritans. Any skin showing is fan service and in them saying so it sets us back as women in the space of gaming. I want to see cute characters in skimpy clothes as well as modest ones but im tired of everything being labled fan service as a bad thing.
Here's a take: Genshin will never get endgame to push our characters, it's NEVER coming. The devs would rather focus on more casual things like qol and character collection. This is not a game for sweats nor will it ever be.
They gave the sweats the local legends and apearantly he didn't even do them because they don't give him pulls q-_-p Well, i did do them. Some of them were hard as shit and it was fun. I hope they make more. Would i like it as repeated abyss type content? Hell no.
@@bencegergohocz5988 Also they give a decent amount of rewards for not that much time put in. Since they respawn daily you gotta do them 3x total its a decent grind for a weekend.
Last comment I swear, but I just remembered at 11:40 that guy is absolutely correct. They take what their favorite CC says and immediately agrees and shoves it down everyone else's throat despite the take itself being either 1. Very incorrect and actually not the case or 2. Something they want to hear so they can say "Oh but X said this about Y and he's always right in everything". You know the ones that's pointed towards lmao
I strongly agree with the one about Genshin been generous. I agree for different reason though in that I think getting a new character is a much bigger value in Genshin because Genshin is a much bigger game with more world to explore and a more interactive combat system.
19:30 - I kinda agree with the comment here. With Snezhnaya on the horizon, and the kind of reaction-specific supports like Citlali, I can definitely see a melt-specific support coming. Perhaps a pyro applicator that has similar buffs to Citlali, or even a Dendro character who buffs the team when there are burning enemies around (buffer Emilie). This would skyrocket Melt teams. This maybe a speculation, but I'd say this could be an educated guess.
Melt teams are already very strong, Citlali is boosting Arlecchino dmg really high with her release, another melt support will buff Arlecchino to an unimaginable lvl
@@skrypnykk.770 it's still quite unclear what direction of melt Citlali is supporting here. We don't really have a pyro Mualani (big hit low frequency) yet, and Citlali would steal all the backward melt if played with a cryo dps so...
@@skrypnykk.770 yea exactly, which I expect not a lot of either elements are gonna appreciate. Most pyro characters nowadays apply pyro way too quickly for the cryo cast (Citlali+c6 Kaeya maybe), and we don't really have a freeze-focused hydro dps.
Hot take: you can enjoy genshin without “playing” Genshin, if you wanna pull random characters and log out that’s fun! If you wanna pay pilots to explore for you that’s fine, if you wanna skip all the dialogue while watching a tv show on the side that fine, I see people post what they do on genshin and the community gets up in arms like “what’s the point if ur not actually playing”
the Genshin being generous take is so true lol I cry in FGOs 330 pity system and horrible farming/distribution of SQ, if you don’t have Castoria or Oberon in that game good luck doing any farming
I prefer spark system rather than pity system in gacha tbh. Compare to other game i played (Uma Musume) eventhough the spark is 200 pull but i got a lot of other ssr in process but in Genshin i can count how many times i got early. Also when limited character banner are over they added it to the next banner while in Genshin they gone until rerun.
3:29 No Rewards? Each Local Legend gives 35 Primogems! Feels weird how far above content creators are from average players. Next they tell us to just eat cake, eh? It is no wonder I guess, they get free primogems from Hoyoverse all the time, why should they care about a few hundred primogems?
7:00 I very hard disagree with this take. That is so unbelievable untrue saying that newer characters are much stronger than older characters. Almost every 1.x and 2.x character is still very op and used with or perfered over recent choices. This is just straight up misinformation atp, you make guides and builds so you should know that these characters aren't power creeping each other. The fact the community wants hoyo to power creep in Genshin proves this a but more. They want stronger XL, they want a stronger Bennett, some want a weird copy paste of Raidens skills on Pyro archon. Genshin wasn't made with forcing the new shiny toy onto people to forces them to spend or stop playing, that is HSR by far, I and many other clearing everything with og characters (My Ganyu, Hu Tao, Keqing, Noelle)
the fact that in this game you can build 4 very easily accessible 4 star characters (Bennet XL Fischl Xinque, one is free one is free every for for Lantern Rite and they’re all in Starglitter shop) from 1.x patches and have viable teams for almost any DPS in the game and people talk like this is a bad thing is insane to me
Nobody wants to deal with bennetts circle. Pyro as an element should not be bennett xiangling and 20 main dps. So yes bennett doesnt have a patent on atk buffing and there should 100% be a 5 star you can buy to not have to deal with his circle.
@@luminous3558 we had Sara that can give a 900+ attack buff more consistently and isn't in a circle and can be put into 2 characters at once, so tell me, why is and WAS Sara cra*ped on that much because she wasn't Bennett 2.0??
@@GodSlayerOblivionit gives 30% less atk than bennet and only characters that's within Sara's crowfeathers explosion get the atk buff (so other characters that was not in it doesn't receive any atk and snapshot the buff) for a measly 6 seconds buff durations (Bennett atk buff last 12 seconds)
@@thatoneweebguy6379 Only Bennett buff works for the active character so people like Arl or Raiden, etc damage falls off hard when they take 1 foot out of Bennett field for 2 seconds and if you burst too early with Raiden immediately after swapping back with her, she won't receive the attack buffs.... Sara, doesn't have that issue, it gives it immediately and doesn't involve getting you killed because Bennett is constantly applying Pyro vs Ice and water enemies, or worst, electro. The hate and reasoning was stupid to hate her although, you people want power creep so badly in Genshin to then turn around and complain the next second. What do you think happened to HSR?
I agree with Genshin being one of the most generous gachas, and I've played a fair amount of gacha games. Most of them give you more lower rarity characters, and you get more free pulls or farmable pulls, but most gachas have a 300 pity count, if they even have any at all. A lot of the times people will defend those games, saying how the lower rarity characters are still strong, but in reality by the time you get to endgame the amount of lower rarity stuff you're still using is in the single digits, and usually only because there is some kind of limiter that prevents you from bringing anything higher rarity
Definitely agree that Genshin is a very generous gacha, though perhaps not THE most generous gacha, but it definitely is very generous. On average a f2p can pull 10-12 5stars a year, and thats not counting all the primo you can get from 100% the world. It gets tough if you want vertical progression and weapons, and thats probably where they make most their money, but still getting 12 charas a year allows for a lot of planned pulls and team building flexibility.
@@ronin7531I saved up 6 months for Furina and got her C3 while not spending any on her. most people just have 0 self controll and want the latest shiny thing 🤷.
I've been playing daily since 4.1 and have 19 5 stars (6 of which are standard). That's 13 limited banner characters in just more than a year (14 if you count Nahida's C1; forgot to account for Standard constellations so eh) and I haven't spent any money on the game (though in interest of full disclosure someone once gave me a Welkon for a month). It just comes down to luck and self control (though many of my characters come from failing at self control so /shrug).
@@ronin7531 i guess if you have the willpower not to pull any characters and save for a whole year, waiting for the moment your character is on a banner so you can C6 them… yeah, you can. But that would be kinda insane, one year no new characters to play just to C6 a character?
@@kittreid704 I orginally joined in 1.0 and quit sometime after the first summertime island event. Came back this year in January for the new year event and have pulled 11 5 stars (4 of those are standards) but in one year have padded my account with busted characters like furina, yelan, kazuha, neuvilette, xilonen and am currently sitting on 300 wishes to secure Mavuika AND Citlali on the next patch. I dont know, this seems very generous to me. People just need to keep up to date with upcoming banner info leaks and plan their spending accordingly.
Hot take: Noelle is actually such a clutch shielder unit and carried my team through the entire game. Her shield lasts a pretty good time, her burst is strong enough to break most enemy geo shields and she extremely easy to play. She's easily an A-tier character for me. Plus she's adorable.
Units should be assessed not on pull value but on FUN value. Fun per primo should be the standard measurement. not dps per primo. everyone sees fun differently. and if consistent 36-star clears on a newer account is your definition, then be my guest knock yourself out! Vertical investment as an F2P is totally an acceptable way to play if that is what floats your boat
Bad take. Should be on pull value for F2P, "fun" value for whales. For 99% of people all characters are good, and fun is also having the abyss done. You are not going to get all characters, so good ones are priority. "I don't like arlechino I want yoimiya" that is a bad reasoning. When you are not even able to use the character because it's too weak, there can not be any fun. You get the account strong, as a f2P, then you can pull for random crap.
It would only make sense for people who are not going to do abbyss or play daily and only do story exploring stuff. In that case, yes. But that is not how you play this game, not the right way. If you are into that, the are many other games better.
It's just the middle ground. Pull value for supports, which you'll need for ANY form of team comp. Fun for the on-fielder/core character, because it'll be the character you'll be seeing and using the most. You can find Eula fun and use her for Abyss with decent results, you just need to get Furina and at least Rosaria or Mika for her.
@@gamingtemplar9893Abyss have 10 mins clear time limit, that's plenty of time to clear it even with character in the lower spectrum of power budget. So fun factor or fun value is indeed a pretty legit assessment. But how about 36* the Abyss? This kind of end game system has beed used by Hoyo for ages, it's pretty bad. It limits both the developer freedom in character design and player freedom in mix-matching lineups. Gotta say I'm pretty dissapointed the new Wuthering Waves still using that game design, which they already used in Punishing Gray Raven. 4+ years of playing Honkai Impact 3rd and valuating pull value by a character ability to maintain Nirvana Abyss (equivalent of Max Star in Genshin/ZZZ/HSR) is boring, cause we kinda being steered by the developer. That's why starting from Genshin I just doesn't give a damn about max starring their end game mode. Players stops caring about their shit end game modes and number crunching while cared more for a character fun factor is a step forward into getting a better proper end game mode, and I'm glad they implement a new flavor end game mode in ZZZ at ver 1.4. I hope both GI and HSR can follow suit. More player cared about pull value will also resulted in the dev pushing out a more aggressive powercreep which is a bad problem in HI 3rd and also started plaguing HSR even before the release of Penacony.
On the hot take of representation. Genshin does a better job then people give then credit for, yes they dont do great with the skin tones but theres more to culture then your skin. Theres music, clothes, architecture, the beliefs/religion of the region, the lore/legends, the creatures even. They do an amazing job in so many ways to show you what inspired a region within the game but people always just get stuck on skin tone.
Imo taking other aspects of the culture and leaving the people of said culture feels worse than not including them at all. Probably why they get so much hate in that case
This is specifically why genshin gets hate for representation though. As people have adequately put it "The developers are effectively communicating that the culture is good enough for their game but not the people." And people aren't getting stuck on skin colour, Hoyo is. If skin colour wasn't an issue for Hoyo, there would be more dark skin characters.
@@AYAA616 I would like people to think about why there are people who are supposed to be represented by these fictional regions don’t take issue with this, and I’m going to need people to respect and understand the point of view, and it’s this: For some of those not in the diaspora, out of all the culturally and ethnically relevant things that they feel are the most important part are the food, culture, clothing, architecture, and history. They know it would be nice to have brown people, but honestly, that’s the most representation that is being portrayed these days. Skin and language, and that’s mostly it. So to see foods they eat every day, clothes they get understand what references were used, architecture they see every day turned into something creative but distinct, and even other obscure, subtle references to their history and culture have a lot more weight than being represented by skin color for their ethnicity. This isn’t to say there is no colorism issue in GI because there is. But if you encounter someone of a particular ethnicity that doesn’t point out the colorism or loves a the region inspired by their culture despite the colorism, it’s probably because skin color was the least of their concerns when portraying their culture and people.
1. I SO agree with genshin being more generous than other gachas. People haven't lived through idol games hell that was no pity, no carrying over, no nothing, no 50-50 guarantees. 2. Tighnari keeps on being criminally underrated, he's insane and SO easy to use with accesible teams too. Sincerely from someone who keeps getting faster clears with Tighnari/Yae quicken vs Neuv C1R1 with Furina. (Either Tighnari with Yae together in triple dendro or Yae aggrevate with Baizhu and on a widsith. They're all havin worse artifacts thanmy Neuv too idk they just good man) 3. It's true it's way harder to clear abbyss with bad characters but it's very much possible, not even through crazy investment into them, but into their supports (like most characters can be good with plunge C6 Benny xianyun furina etc). It's not true for most other gacha games, that's why we kee praising this aspect of genshin
I agree with all 3 of your takes, it reflects my experience as well, C1 Tighnari, Yae, Nahida, ZL had been one of my most used and now Arlec, Yae, c6Chev, Bennet/Beidou that cleared the recent CBeast floors under 30sec best part is Yae burst hits 150-170k x 4 disintegrated those beast.
fellow idol games soldier, i salute you. o7 i think Genshin's more active gameplay where characters unlock a lot more gameplay compared to something like idol games or even a turn-based RPG gacha like GBF or F/GO, sorta inherently demands that the game be more generous with how often you unlock characters. i imagine that consistency + free rewards is also really nice in the other Hoyo games but I personally see a lot of people complaining about powercreep in those games so i imagine there's more necessity to pull more in them as well.
@TheWayOfTheWott Honestly I feel like in Genshin you need to pull less, because you can still clear with older characters and the combat system is so deep and interesting that you can go for far longer without pulling anything new while stay interested in the game, especially with the open world and story. In strategy/rhythm/turn based, that's where I feel like you need to keep pulling to keep up with new mechanics, bigger numbers, general powercreep etc.🫣
@Szczurzyslawa full agree! and i think also the nature of Genshin's leaves more potential in each unit compared to something turn-based. it's so cool whenever the community finds some cool interaction like the EM Razor team, Sukokomon, Chlorinde/Qiqi Skyward Blade, etc. i also think that even though there are examples of powercreep, there's also been so many units that have withstood time and also so many that have been buffed throughout the game with releases like the Dendro element and units like Furina, Xinyan, etc.
I personally don't feel like this should be considered a Hot Take, but Arlecchino is actually easier to use than Neuvillette. This is usually used as a way to bump her down in DPS tier lists, so it's a Hot Take to say that the opposite is true. I have both, use both regularly, both are highly invested in: Arlecchino wins hands down in terms of damage output, team options (she's much more flexible than people give her credit for, and has many more "F2P" options with some of her best teams not even needing 5 star supports), clear times and flexibility of her rotations. I think a lot of content creators seriously underrate the importance of her pretty much permanent infusion, and overplay her "fragility" saying she can't be healed or needs a shielder (another hot take: so does Neuvillette at C0, and getting interrupted with him is actually a much higher DPS and time loss) - except she can, and in a matter of seconds, to full HP!!! with just her ult which you don't need to use in a rotation so it's always ready available as a panic button. If Neuvillette gets interrupted or can't cast his skill on time, you're wasting time charging his hydro beam. If Furina's ult isn't back up on time, you're wasting time trying to get particles to start the rotation again. If your Furina is C0, you need to slot a team wide healer in that team despite Neuvillette's self-heal - which restricts his options. His gameplay requires very precise rotations, actually - not to mention, an almost obligatory 5 star support in Furina (kind of like Mavuika needs Xilonen to function properly, except she's probably even worse). Arlecchino, on the other hand, very rarely runs out of bond before her skill is back up despite the very long cooldown, and if she does you can just start setting up your rotation again because it only takes a skill and charged attack to get her going again. Give her Bennett and she'll be happier, sure. So will every other ATK scaling DPS in this game, so saying "she depends on him" is a bit of a stretch.
I've always been a Xiangling hater, tried to user her recently for my Kinich team and I needed Dehya and Bennet, 2 favs and ER sands so she could finally get her burst consistently every rotation. I ended swapping her with Lynnette, who I actually thought I'd never use and it's honestly better.
@@KingOfMalevolence I think the issue is that people just don't farm Emblem correctly (this isn't even a Xiangling problem). You can't be throwing out flowers or feathers that have ER stat but aren't double crit maybe only single because those can be some of the strongest emblem pieces. ER should be on all 4 non timepiece subs. It's too important a stat because you aren't running emblem unless the character needs it and then it's directly conferable to damage bonus. If all your pieces look like that it's say easier to meet energy requirements in a Xiangling team (or aqua Yelan or whatever)
And people claim Mavuika is garbage because why pull a character that has pyro ap on her e and is ocasionally better than pyronado even in meta abyss team when you can just use the most dogshit user experience character in the game.
@@pr0ntab That just applies to artifact farming in general though. Xiangling requires so much stats to be amazing, which is why it takes us a lot longer to get her a great build. I can easily give her 300% ER with an ER weapon, ER sands, and a ton of ER subs on Emblem, but getting a comfortable ER with enough EM, good crit ratio, and attack? That's not something that can be easily obtained with average luck, bruh. It took me years of on and off farming just to get Xiangling to a level I'm extremely satisfied with, unlike with other supports and damage dealers.

my hot take is that even though a lot of people are bashing mavuika “brings nothing new to the table and is just another dps who will become obsolete by 6.0.” i am sure she will inherently change the game and be a way more impactful unit than people are expecting her to be
nobody is doubting she'll be the best dps by far she's just terribly designed and restricted to using natlan characters to be used comfortably. furina and every other archon are not restricted by any means mavuika is just restricted and postponed till 5.3 cuz hoyo is desperate for money ig

Not really, you shouldnt do exactly what a cc tells you to but you should take the advice and use it to pull characters that are strong but also characters that you like
@ACatThatCantSing I don't think anyone with half a brain thinks like that though. Most people just prioritize their pulls balancing desirability of design/kit vs what it does for their account I think it's just natural and each person is gonna value that balance differently anyway
Not when you are forced to do it for 10+ hrs. It’s like exercising, cycling is fun when you do only twice a week but when you do it everyday, it’s less fun
Fishing is good once in a while, but it is very repetitive, so it's best enjoyed when you're not actively grinding something, which is against one of the core aspects of Genshin. It's similar to TCG: it's good content, but it's introduced to the wrong playerbase.
YES I LOVE THE DESERT IN SUMERU SAYU THE TOMB RAIDER was my MVP It was so much fun! I am so happy I did those before we had underground cave maps, because it gave the whole thing a real sense of adventure. It was complicated, but doable, and not Inazuma.
I can complete Imaginarium Teather in visionary with mostly lv 70/80 characters, so you don't really need crazy amount of investment (just keep your best and friend support for bosses)
Agree with your Mulani hot take. I recently got her to top 2% and good she is broken and feel better to play then Neuvilette to me, if both are c0. Using the BP weapon on both, since they i both use, is good on both. Both used the BP weapon, since it is one of the bet for both of them.
There is no world in which klee is anywhere near comparable to arlecchino, and even if they did the same damage, arlecchino would be a 1000x times better character because of klee being clunky as hell alone
At the end of the day the most people pull their most number of characters for abyss/challenging contents I have xingqiu (from beginners banner), pulled yelan on her last rerun (4.8 or something) People say that if you have Xingqiu you probably dont need yelan because they both does the same thing They are right for the 'they do the same thing' part, but the part they don't mention is what if you need xingqiu on both chambers of abyss?? I have had that situation a lot times Now i can run my off field hydro on both chambers and not have to worry about it Same case is with Kazuha and Xilonen Because what if you need a Kazuha/Xilonen on both chambers (teams) If you have both you can use them on 2 different teams The thing is the support characters make a lot of team possible You have Xingqiu and yelan?? great now you can run hyperbloom on one half and Raiden national on the other You have kazuha and Xilonen?? Great, now you can run childe international on one half and Neuvillette Hypercarry on the other half
That’s not really what meta means… in terms of comfort he’s top tier. But in terms of increasing damage, yeah he does that. I think meta players identify comfort as an additional cherry on top but things that can be overcome by skill… the alternative is just predicting things better because you screwed up somewhere and learning through experience in the game But people that care about meta aren’t casuals… so the argument that Zhongli is meta because of comfort comes from non-casuals thinking that casuals care about what Zhongli is called… they don’t care if Zhongli is consider “meta” or not, they’re just casual
Overworld team is a thing, I don't use my Chiori in the abyss(because she is c0), but I use her in the overworld, her skill can send you to the roof of some buildings when the eave make it hard to climb.
2:48 so it isn’t an echo chamber, I thought I’d leave my comment. I’m huge on achievements and I think alot of others are too. It’s always videos from people with sub par quality. Seeing someone’s strategy to get to the achievement is also interesting, not just the achievement itself
Yeah like even in console days, platinum trophies and such, we didn't do it for the reward. It was just fun to say you did a wild thing that many may have not even attempted. I dunno call it loser behaviour if yall want but it brings me joy. I'm sure it brings joy to many others in the same way. :)
Achievements are the real endgame content in my opinion. They're unique challenges that put the player's knowledge, tech choices, and everything on the line in some cases. The so called "endgame modes" like the abyss and imaginarium theatre are nowhere close. IT is a nice way to get primogems whenever there's a reset, pretty easy content. But Abyss is just a dps test since Sumeru is out. Before Sumeru, there was some technical stuff in there as well, like knowing which opponent spawns after defeating a specific opponent on the field, that made it a technical challenge rather than just a pure dps test, but now?... it's became pathetic from the technical standpoint.
I've been getting into achievements recently, and I've found that it is a fantastic part of the game. It opens so many bits of lore and world building.
@@UltraCookie3000 yup, reward hunting feels like it steers away from playing the game for fun. Assassins creed was cool because the achievements was the completionist feel

i used to think they were worth 40 resin worth of artifact xp. nope, it's like a hundred resin's worth if you don't burn 5 star artifacts like i don't (they're all for strongboxing) it's super important if you can spare the time. i did it almost religiously for two years, then somewhere in sumeru i stopped and only resumed on and off now in natlan.
Mualani is my BIGGEST pull REGRET Is the only character I would immediately give back! I’ve build her to lvl 90, with good stats and talent lvl 9 and I STILL find her terrible weak and horrible to play Her combat kit in the open World is just terrible! And NO, is not a skill issue. I find characters like Arlechinno and Clorinde very easy and satisfying to play, I also play plunge teams with jump cancel animations and Sethos with Normal Atack Walk cancel animation ( if you know you know) and overall I consider myself a pretty skilled player but Muallani is not hard, IS just clunky and inconsistent for no reason (The devs could make her kit more polished)
fr, genshin fans as a whole have such a problem with composting, each character when their kit is leaked gets picked to hell i’ve seen it happen with literally EVERY. character released, ppl thought when Mualani got nerfed in beta she’d be horrible, the “XXXX CHARACTER IS NERFED, UNUSEABLE NOW?!?!?” videos gets annoying Mavuika is an archon lmao there’s 0 chance absolutely 0 chance her banner doesn’t sell well and they keep her relevant for at least the next 2-3 years
I have been using Mualani for a while now and I do think she does good DPS. Mine isnt the best built by anu means but I can still do 350k-400k in wheelchair (Xilonen, Chiori, Xinyan) or 450k-500k sharky bites in (Xilonen, Candace, Xinyan) team. I prefer wheelchair as I adore Chiori more than Candace and the damage my Chiori does in said team more than makes up the difference in damage. I had found that very spread out enemies presents a problem for her and wants them close together or to focus on single target. Multi wave isnt too much of an issue for her as once one wave is down I can go right to sharky bite the next as they spawn. She can still get 3 sharky bites (single target) per rotation at c0 and her rotation windows are on the fast side. Due to how fast her rotation window is that is why I use Xinyan for the pyro application now instead of another character like Xiangling. 20 sec CD on Pyronado feels bad to me even if I fill her up with enough ER to do it.
Hot take: 1)5* DPS characters can clear the abyss themselves too, with 4* teammates. 2)Flexible DPS characters will become even more powerful as they will work with more powerful future supports. Edit:Cold take
HOT TAKE Furina is overhyped and not that good, I find her to be a good general buff/ sub dps but not an excellent one. The dedicated character for that role is usually miles better, not to mention she has the healer requirement which can restrict team building at times. Additionally, i find her buff not to be great unless its near its max, for which a team wide healer is necessary (or a fontainian character with hp mechanic) making her feel often like a downgrade or at best a sidegrade. Furina is often praised for her flexibility in team building but needing a healer can restrict teambuilding in other ways (In my opinion she a solid A tier character) Assuming you dont have a good portion of characters, she a good alternative but never the best option.
Oh damn i missed the community post, would of been a great time to argue the truth that the best Physicals are not Eula they are Bruiser Zhongli, Physchl, and probably even Freminent in roughly that order, although I'm still convinced its Fischl if team options+DPS come into play since Zhongli and Gorou both eat slots that could be something better although ZL is the highest M/V personally if we play the "lol animation cancels don't count" (ZL is limited to about 240+pikes procs, Fischl is about 240 but with good animation cancel, but not including procs like Harp,) let alone the "macros don't count" which is why i don't really mention Gorou. Yes i'm a 1.0 player btw Eula can be better then all these but more time goes on the more i realize she might as well be a standard character where its C6 or bust, and regardless her team options are way stricter and more punishing, still, to this day, largely because of her ER% issues. Hoping for a everyone-included phys buffer, even if it included everyone if they could battery Eula well then it would still be a massive win for her without leaving the others behind.
I think people don't like Clorinde because they are hyper focused on aggrevate. so everyone tried to do it without interuption resistance. then she feels awful if you have to dodge an attack so you cant really take advantage of her healing. why they didn't make her have a parry/block mechanic on her skill lunge when she is a FENCING DUELIST is insane to me. then we get yanagi in ZZZ who has exactly that mechanic in her skill.
dunno man, I never hear anyone badmouthing Clorinde. And she is my strongest electro unit for sure, probably one of my top 5 strongest dps units in general. The fact that she works in electro charged, overload and hyperbloom as well is pretty impressive in my opinion.
@@Wortigon2000 so u havent watched any clorinde pre-release and post release videos. The amount of doomposting cmts in these videos are insane. U can check them out. (Zajeff pre release and post release, tgs, even jello’s clorinde guide)
@@Wortigon2000 well i love her and i think She is strong, but everyone i knows says She has low DMG at c0 and that She is Just a fischl driver. I don't agree with them obv imho she is really strong
It doesn't seem to just be Mualani too, but the entire Natlan cast. It's really sad considering you'd think that one of the strongest harbingers and likely the only dragon we'll ever be able to play are getting powercreeped.
@@MicrocarpaRutaceae tbh Mavuika should be stronger than Arle. She won against Capitano that is indeed stronger than Arle. Also Mualani is better than Arle for controlled speedrun, where you can retry until you crit. Btw Eula was never really good, was just a showcase character.
@@kadatheklund2904 Oh I agree with about Mavuika. I looked at some clips and calcs for 2 hours and it seems I did overrate Kinich and Chasca though. So it is just Mualani, which makes me feel a little better about the balancing.

Ayaka,Raiden, yelan, kuki, thoma still S or high A tier Yoymiya,Ayato can still clear abyss with normal investment and 4 star team mates 4 star weapons and they both were already outshined by hutao and childe who are from 1.X so that’s reverse power creep Other inazuma characters are also still viable
15:06 proud to have actually submitted a hot take according to you, and considering i've seen multiple comments both agreeing and disagreeing i think that's an accurate assessment! i think it's really telling that people agreeing with me mention old gachas (F/GO, GBF, idol games) and people who seem to disagree mention newer gachas. (Star Rail, WuWa) i think it really does show that Genshin set a baseline expectation for a lot of newer gacha people that are very different expectations to people who have played older games. i think the biggest thing for me is that even though Genshin isn't generous with how many free rewards they get, it's just so consistent and thus really easy to get what you want if you have the self-control. i chronically saved my currency in so many gachas, and transferring that mentality to Genshin has gotten me way more guaranteed units than any other gacha just because of how their banners work.
My one hot take is that the Mavuika bashing is actually justified. She brings nothing new to the table and will be outdated when 6.0 comes out. And thats sad. Especially since Furina/Nahida fundamentally changed the game when they came out. I guarantee Furina and Tsaritsa will be the top 2 archons by the end of the main story purely because Mavuika was done so dirty.
Yeah, it's all about our lovely Furina. Even mavuika needs her 😂😂. Furina is the real goat of all seven as an archon. Never regretted pulling her, while venti is rotting in a corner 😂. I wouldn't surprise if cryo archon needs her cuz why not make everyone frozen 😂😂 for eternity.
When did bashing anything is justified? Criticism is one thing but bashing is just plain harassment. It's true that mavuika brings nothing new in the current meta and she's just another dps but sh*ting on the character just because she doesn't change the meta is downright stupid.
@@thiefpotato2759 I wonder if they don't want to give Bronya I mean the Tsaritsa too much competition since she's clearly their favorite character. That being said I really do feel like people over catastropize every unit that isn't game breaking and it's like dude chill. It's always like this. Not every unit is Dehya and even she found new life in different team comps and constellations and idk I think people are impossible to please and gamers especially so.
My hot take is any time you spend dying, getting knocked around, or dodging is time spent *not* doing damage. Therefore, using Zhongli is NOT a DPS loss...
I hate Neuvilett. His play style feels clunky, I don’t like his character design, I don’t like his animations, his outfit sucks. And everyone keeps insisting on me getting him, and I don’t want him.
Then don’t get him? What is this take? You can’t deny he’s good… most players value a character they both like and are in some ways good… Neuv was a character that was very major and is powerful so most people like him. You’re just an exception to the general consensus. People say that he’s good all the time, because he is… when people say you should get him, it’s probably because you’re just one passer-by comment left behind by a person they’ll forget in 10 mins anyways so they’re gonna leave some standard advice that applies to a lot of people but not the rest because getting down to the details is a waste of time especially if you don’t explicitly state that you don’t like him until after they already recommended him. Unless you’re like that weird sub group of people that only hate characters that get popular then begin to hate that character which you would have otherwise liked… because more people are enjoying them, it happens a bit tbh.
I think ease of use in the overworld doesn't necessarily refer to mobility or things like that, but rather not being too burst-reliant or having really long cooldowns (though the latter doesn't matter THAT much imo). Overworld and domain farming are a huge part of the game no matter how you play the game, whereas most players can still enjoy the game without ever interacting with Abyss or Theater in any way. The fact that some characters like Venti or Ganyu get called bad just because they're not that good in Abyss 12 is wild imo.
YES! the take on “ease of use” is soooo important. my second character i ever got was ayaka. i’ve never regretted pulling a chatter ACCEPT her. when i’m new and i go to beat up a hilichurl it’s tough when her damage comes from her burst. you go the the hilichurl 10 feet away and there’s no burst to use. skill damage oriented characters are wayyyy bettrr edit: not to mention er being hard to get in early ar. i used xiangling cuz everyone said she was good. TERRIBLE in the overworld though
saying that tighnari constellations are easy to get is wild tbh. you can play for years and never get a single copy of a standard 5* you like, let alone seven copies.
These days you can get him once a year.
@@zukodude487987 you are still not getting 7 copies that way unless you are going to play this game for 7 more years. And tbh genshin peak will end in 2 or 3 years more. I don't know if this take THAt hot, but Chasca is basically the best character you could get as a new player. She is a strong DPS, has great exploration, very nice vertical movement (if there's a hill that is not 90 degrees, she can just fly up by pressing W), and as long as you have a rainbow team (that you can make with Lisa, Ember and Kaeya if you don't have ANY characters) , she can clear any open world chests/enemies (there is no worse feeling in the game than taking your Neuvillette in open world and being forced to fight a water resistant enemy)
After playing her in open world I can't really use anyone else, cause it just feels much worse.
Finally someone with a brain bro, i'd say she's even above most meta supports interms of pull value but people aren't ready for that convo.
I use Chasca, Nuvi, Arle and Raiden as my exploration team now a days :P (I named it as instakill)
@ ya pretty much. It's like clearing an abyss chamber in 1 minute instead of 45 seconds.
But chasca can fly.
Teambuilding flexibility is what I look for now, especially if it buffs older characters.
with that new area, chasca abillity to fly in exploration really feels good man than your flying saurian. Saurian flying experience is not smoth at all and make me dizzy. and they not able to stay still in the air is minus too. sure its "make this close to realism" yea yea yea bla bla bla but cashca riding a fking gun is that real to you? like wth man.
agree with the hang out opinion
"because they're boring" isn't a valid argument imo. like... literally just make them better then lol.
They are better now. Lynette's, Faruzan's and Ningguang's are really good. They're just lower stakes.
I've done all hangouts too... twice 😂
That said, not as much of a fan of the ones before Sumeru.
RNG really matter in this game, and my raging is valid, you can't argue with that
“there is no meta” ?😂😂
@@tigerxxd there is a meta but it's not mandatory. People have been clearing abyss with 4 stars since day 1

@@andyh107achievement won't give u more than 20 pulls if if u have already crossed 700 achievement which everyone can gain without hunting for it
@@andyh107 Yeah you're right and I've looked for guides on those kinds of things so they're definitely useful, but I think I lost some detail in saying 'full on video guide.' The problem is those kinds of guides imo are probably not suited for heavy editing, commentary, entertainment value, and general effort that most people go to 'content creators' for.
As a fellow Indian, I agree 100%. The odds are good that they have a huge number of Indians in their dev team.
As a persian i agree with you. Sumeru was blend of persian, indian and maybe arab's cultural, architectural identity and it was obvious that they made a lot of efforts to investigate their culture to demonstrate it perfectly.
as an Iranian ... I also agree with this
For me I like getting all the achievements for completion, but also just because they give small primogems, doesn't mean they don't stack up to be something like a few wishes which can possibly give the 5* I'm pulling for.
The reason why "hyperbloom is good" is cause you can easily and quickly get the damage threshold to 36* abyss in a relatively shorter amount of time. There was a simulation in simpact database where it was literally coded to press random buttons (that's binded to character controls) and it still was able to output a DPS threshold that's enough to 36* abyss (though genshin has been experimenting with the hp multiplyers in abyss recently)
and not because it deals "an amazing amount of damage".
so u mean when u said in a relatively shorter amount of time, u really mean to say its superhard to mess up?

No, I agree. I thing Genshin should straight up abandon Condensed Resin and introduce the overflow storage like HSR and ZZZ have.
What's the fatui set?

Also welcome)
Happy to see new player

Very pog. Scrap your keqing and convert to lisa
btw all jokes. she is strong at c6 totally agree
I recently started a no pull account and was shocked at how strong Lisa actually was once I started investing in her and getting use to her mechanics
Off topic, but Which math are we talking? 😏
I didn’t hate the quest chain itself but I hated that you basically couldn’t leave without hitting certain checkpoints or else it would restart
I love time shenanigans in media
@@mlemaire109 the best part is the photos you can hang up they are such a cute touch
The Resin system in Genshin Impact isn’t that bad - it prevents burnout by limiting how much you can grind each day.

people are overreacting about how "bad" mavuika is as a support. shes not furina-level or anything, but moreso yelan level, and thats still pretty dang good
Pyro yelan, interesting. Instead of stealth mode, mavuika hops on 🏍. Now everything makes sense 😂

Your comment that when people think Mualani is bad it's a skill issue is what I've been trying to say the whole time. I am not a speed runner so I don't have to reset ever....... I prefer her complexity to falling asleep with the weight of my finger on the attack button with Neuv....

@@luv-dt4zfEh it comes to personal preference no need to insult one character and praise the other
I've heard Genshin has less powercreep than any other Hoyoverse game, so I'm at least grateful for that.
@@studiesinflux1304 I don't have Xianyun but I will check that out, thank you!
I have to disagree on some things here:
- Achievements are great, and I love hunting for them.
- Finally, I too think that Genshin is the most generous gatcha game I have ever played, hands down.*
Cool video, and I always enjoy your analysis!
@@BotanVal I know I don't have a point of comparison - that's the joke :)

@@BotanVal
It is “well known as…” because it’s the most popular gacha game.

Don't know where you get your numbers from, but according to you - f2p can get 1.5 c6 characters every year - which is not the case
@@ronin7531I saved up 6 months for Furina and got her C3 while not spending any on her. most people just have 0 self controll and want the latest shiny thing 🤷.

Hot Take: Sigewinne is the worst 5 star we've had in a while that I'd put her on standard banner.
The people who demand representation are very shallow and care little for culture and all about skin.
Skintone is a touchy subject specifically because they're taking everything except skintone. Which is fucked up.
@@AYAA616 I would like people to think about why there are people who are supposed to be represented by these fictional regions don’t take issue with this, and I’m going to need people to respect and understand the point of view, and it’s this:
For some of those not in the diaspora, out of all the culturally and ethnically relevant things that they feel are the most important part are the food, culture, clothing, architecture, and history.

Agree so much with all of these point ESPECIALLY the Tighnari point.
fellow idol games soldier, i salute you. o7
i think Genshin's more active gameplay where characters unlock a lot more gameplay compared to something like idol games or even a turn-based RPG gacha like GBF or F/GO, sorta inherently demands that the game be more generous with how often you unlock characters. i imagine that consistency + free rewards is also really nice in the other Hoyo games but I personally see a lot of people complaining about powercreep in those games so i imagine there's more necessity to pull more in them as well.
5:41 the hangout events are boring indeed. But I did them all! I am doing other things instead and just stay near the controller to keep the long dialogues going.
my hot take is that even though a lot of people are bashing mavuika “brings nothing new to the table and is just another dps who will become obsolete by 6.0.” i am sure she will inherently change the game and be a way more impactful unit than people are expecting her to be
nobody is doubting she'll be the best dps by far she's just terribly designed and restricted to using natlan characters to be used comfortably. furina and every other archon are not restricted by any means mavuika is just restricted and postponed till 5.3 cuz hoyo is desperate for money ig
@@purplerainPRmavuika is not restricted between natlan characters .even she is more universal than nahida somehow.guess you can get her elemental burst without natlan characters.she is best in natlan unit.like furina is best in neuvi team and nahida is best in alhaitham team thats how .
@@KabbyaSarkar-wt1xg never said you couldn't use her wo natlan chars I specifically said she cant function comfortably as a main dps wo natlan characters.

2:she can ult if your team normal attacks 14 times per rotation which basicly all NA dps already does.
3: if you are a meta slave that needs things to be optimal, you have Xilonen. If you are not, why are you doomposting a character?

Hot take: following tier lists as actual advice for pulling drains the fun out of the game
100% unless idk if that's how someone has fun but yeah.
way more fun to full clear with your favorite character than pull for who's ever at the top of the meta and get easy clears.
Hard disagree; that's one of the most fun aspects of the game.
Yeah, this is a personal basis.
Theater is way more fun than abyss,it doesnt need meta shits and u can use a friend unit.
My hot take : fishing is kinda fun
Not when you are forced to do it for 10+ hrs. It’s like exercising, cycling is fun when you do only twice a week but when you do it everyday, it’s less fun
Average Grandma:
If I give you my account will you fish for furinas pipe for me?
Fishing in Gaia online was fun. Fishing centered games are fun. GENSHIN FISHING? Too easy, too boring.
Fishing is good once in a while, but it is very repetitive, so it's best enjoyed when you're not actively grinding something, which is against one of the core aspects of Genshin. It's similar to TCG: it's good content, but it's introduced to the wrong playerbase.
YES I LOVE THE DESERT IN SUMERU
SAYU THE TOMB RAIDER was my MVP
It was so much fun! I am so happy I did those before we had underground cave maps, because it gave the whole thing a real sense of adventure. It was complicated, but doable, and not Inazuma.
4:29 best of both worlds is basically all the natlan characters lol
All of them do good damage (well except kachina) and are good at exploring 😂
i consider xilonen the best exploration character even outside of natlan
Kachina does well in mono geo teams. I’m excited to build my mono geo team

At the end of the day the most people pull their most number of characters for abyss/challenging contents
I have xingqiu (from beginners banner), pulled yelan on her last rerun (4.8 or something)
People say that if you have Xingqiu you probably dont need yelan because they both does the same thing
They are right for the 'they do the same thing' part, but the part they don't mention is what if you need xingqiu on both chambers of abyss??
I have had that situation a lot times
Now i can run my off field hydro on both chambers and not have to worry about it
Same case is with Kazuha and Xilonen
Because what if you need a Kazuha/Xilonen on both chambers (teams)
If you have both you can use them on 2 different teams
The thing is the support characters make a lot of team possible
You have Xingqiu and yelan?? great now you can run hyperbloom on one half and Raiden national on the other
You have kazuha and Xilonen?? Great, now you can run childe international on one half and Neuvillette Hypercarry on the other half
Hot take: Zhongli is meta since this is still a casual game. Most people hate resetting.
what is resetting?
That’s not really what meta means… in terms of comfort he’s top tier. But in terms of increasing damage, yeah he does that. I think meta players identify comfort as an additional cherry on top but things that can be overcome by skill… the alternative is just predicting things better because you screwed up somewhere and learning through experience in the game
But people that care about meta aren’t casuals… so the argument that Zhongli is meta because of comfort comes from non-casuals thinking that casuals care about what Zhongli is called… they don’t care if Zhongli is consider “meta” or not, they’re just casual
Before Sumeru, there was some technical stuff in there as well, like knowing which opponent spawns after defeating a specific opponent on the field, that made it a technical challenge rather than just a pure dps test, but now?... it's became pathetic from the technical standpoint.
nah nobody care about achievements
I've been getting into achievements recently, and I've found that it is a fantastic part of the game. It opens so many bits of lore and world building.
@@UltraCookie3000 yup, reward hunting feels like it steers away from playing the game for fun.

Artifact runs are arguably the most important daily activity to do.
i used to think they were worth 40 resin worth of artifact xp.
nope, it's like a hundred resin's worth if you don't burn 5 star artifacts like i don't (they're all for strongboxing)
it's super important if you can spare the time. i did it almost religiously for two years, then somewhere in sumeru i stopped and only resumed on and off now in natlan.
Mualani is my BIGGEST pull REGRET
Is the only character I would immediately give back! I’ve build her to lvl 90, with good stats and talent lvl 9 and I STILL find her terrible weak and horrible to play
Her combat kit in the open World is just terrible!
And NO, is not a skill issue. I find characters like Arlechinno and Clorinde very easy and satisfying to play, I also play plunge teams with jump cancel animations and Sethos with Normal Atack Walk cancel animation ( if you know you know) and overall I consider myself a pretty skilled player but Muallani is not hard, IS just clunky and inconsistent for no reason
(The devs could make her kit more polished)
My hottake is that the Mauvika bashing thats been happening recently is annoying
fr, genshin fans as a whole have such a problem with composting, each character when their kit is leaked gets picked to hell i’ve seen it happen with literally EVERY. character released, ppl thought when Mualani got nerfed in beta she’d be horrible, the “XXXX CHARACTER IS NERFED, UNUSEABLE NOW?!?!?” videos gets annoying
Mavuika is an archon lmao there’s 0 chance absolutely 0 chance her banner doesn’t sell well and they keep her relevant for at least the next 2-3 years
Mauvika character design is beautiful but her gameplay with the motorcycle is so ugly.
Yeah I’d consider that a hot take because I find the Mavuika bashing funny
Cold take. Actually, extend it to 95% of doomposting.
Hot take:
1)5* DPS characters can clear the abyss themselves too, with 4* teammates.
2)Flexible DPS characters will become even more powerful as they will work with more powerful future supports.

HOT TAKE
Furina is overhyped and not that good, I find her to be a good general buff/ sub dps but not an excellent one.
Furina is often praised for her flexibility in team building but needing a healer can restrict teambuilding in other ways
(In my opinion she a solid A tier character)
Assuming you dont have a good portion of characters, she a good alternative but never the best option.
Yes i'm a 1.0 player btw
Eula can be better then all these but more time goes on the more i realize she might as well be a standard character where its C6 or bust, and regardless her team options are way stricter and more punishing, still, to this day, largely because of her ER% issues. Hoping for a everyone-included phys buffer, even if it included everyone if they could battery Eula well then it would still be a massive win for her without leaving the others behind.
Love this type of content bro, interacting and chilling that’s my typa sh

@@mamunabdulla781 then Hoyo sees hype around cryo Archon and makes her on-field DPS because why not? 😅
I guess we'll see how she ends up by 6.0. Time will prove her worth and whether this comment ages well or poorly
When did bashing anything is justified? Criticism is one thing but bashing is just plain harassment. It's true that mavuika brings nothing new in the current meta and she's just another dps but sh*ting on the character just because she doesn't change the meta is downright stupid.

@ the video was about silly hottakes.
That one was mine. I don’t disagree with your opinion on him. I just think his design looks bad. That’s all.
Jello just explained confirmation biased in genshin terms at the start of the video 😭
