I loved the B13 extension trick. It's just awesome and I really need to remeber this. Thank you so much for showing this. This video was worth watching just to see it and there was so much more! By the way, while watching this fight I did my poor reading and thought that instead of C17 bamboo join, the B17 nose tesuji should do the trick and I can't actualy come up with any good response from white. The best I can think of is white playing C16 but we can connect at C17 and if white pushes father we can extend along at E15 and tiger's mouth in F14 which threatens to capture.
In response to your question - That's some good reading. One thing I didn't like about it is that white can trade and capture the corner and take a big corner (ignore tiger's mouth to play E17).
:) Always trying to elevate how we do all the things on the board big or small is the key to improvement! I mean, improving our moves...that is of course improvement! xD I can say very strongly that Go punishes defensiveness VERY hard, getting stronger once we're around 10k is increasingly about doing less defense, more offense, and more trading/sacrifice in place of defense (but still defend sometimes, just try to minimize).

Will respond to this when I'm free, after reading it a bit again. Expect another comment later! Thanks

Must. Get. More. Okay, maybe you have a point with that one and I'm obliged to merely defend, but don't expect to make it a pattern...

1:00:17 what if black just lives directly? a12
A valid choice, yes. I didn't like that because could live in my corner, and doing so would also leave my top black stones baseless.
Hmm
