It was a fun job. We all made fun of anything that didn't go quite right and some people even broke bones-- but we were like a well oiled machine. Good times!

Whoever took this video-- THANKS! It is really great to see the work We all used to do from this perspective. It was hard work, and I loved this job! Too bad the comment was made at the end. All well. Nobody was happy every min, right? :D

What an amazing video. Thank you so much for sharing it. While I have never worked at the Magic Kingdom, I remember this show with great fondness. Thank you to all of the puppeteers for your hard work and the gifts you gave to those who saw the show.

    Impressive.
Everyone knows every single move and line, no one looks at a stage monitor. Everyone knows exactly where to stand and how to move around each other.

I love it all up til the last comment! It's absolutely amazing how puppetry like this can be performed! I wish I could've seen it in person!

Awesome..many thanks for sharing this gem a video.
This was a great show....saw it many times. As a puppeteer myself, i can relate to the challanges the performers go through.
I have been told in the past that one of the reasons this show was eventually closed was that it was very difficult to cast. Puppeteers were apparently in short supply at Walt Disney World, and the payroll costs were a issue. A pity, as live entertainment done in a creative way like Legend of the Lion King is unique.

I was just talking about this show today. Thank you so much for posting this, I always wondered what it was like and how much effort it took behind the scenes. You guys were truly appreciated (even if it didn't seem like it) for all the hard work!!

I had the chance to break in the new hyenas in the summer of 98. That was one fantastic summer.

I am more impressed with seeing how the performers did this than watching the actual show - amazing. How long did it take to learn to do that? And were any performers already puppeteers or just entertainment types hired for the positions? Very cool.

I would do anything to have and be able to operate a puppet like those!!!
