I’m so happy to see this is still up! I was one of the dancers in this show. I’m a tribal member of the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma.

Man that was amazing. Imagine if Dinsey made an actual musical based on the Pocahontas. How cool would that be.

I actually enjoyed this more than the film itself. I especially appreciated the presence of actual Native American actors, singers and dancers in the cast.

    Wow.
I really loved this little outdoor theater. This was during the Eisner era I believe Those were the days when entertainment value trumped $$$.
Great times; when the place was just oozing entertainment value (and the Hunchback show that followed might have been even better!).
I miss these times [December 1971] Vet here...

      Me too.
      December 6 1971 as I recall...
Haven't been back since 2012; but that's cool. We experienced the place during its golden age.
For all his faults Eisner actually understood the legacy, the place hasn't been the same since.

Those saying she can't sing, you must have something stuck in your ear, she nails it perfectly. What is wrong with people...

Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz made The Hunchback of Notre Dame into a stage musical and Stephen Schwartz made The Prince of Egypt into a stage musical and Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz should also make Pocahontas into a stage musical!

28:41 - 29:40 I wish that was included in the movie. Think about how powerful the ending to Pocahontas is if the chorus sang this.

Pocahontas is my favorite disney princess and every time we went to Disneyland I always drag my mom to this show at least once probably twice during the day when I found out they were getting rid of it I was like we have to go to Disneyland to watch at least one more time.

I wish that 28:41 - 29:40 was in the ending scene in "Pocahontas". Some of the reprises in Disney films have a chorus singing a reprise of a certain song, but Pocahontas is the only film that does not have that!

This was probably one of the first time Disney had a mostly colored/non white cast. They did extensive castings nation wide to find Native Americans and POC to portray this important piece of history.
