When one float leaves and the music of the next begins it's a wonderful cacophony of noise. And I can now watch the "To honour America" float now that 45 lost I'm a proud American again for the first time in four wretched years.
This is probably the best video I've seen of Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade here on You Tube, as far as quality of both the audio and the video, and most of all completeness. You allowed us to see the very beginning and the very end, fanfare and all. Most people forget that's part of a complete video of the parade. Thank you for giving us this gift because it is most definitely a rarity.
thanks for posting! I'm a child of the 80's and still nothing tops this. The new Paint the Night is too Japan for me. Love the intro Baroque Hoedown. Never gets old!
Been 24 years since I’ve seen this parade in person. I was 4-5 years old when I saw this in person in 1996. I even owned the VHS for it. The three biggest things that stuck out for me were the Blue Fairy, Clock Tower, and Eagle at the end.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! Watching this made me cry! I miss watching this parade at Disneyland so much! I can't believe that they change the music and took out the blue fairy! Hopefully they will bring it back to Disneyland someday!
Disney lost the rights to Twighlight Zone, so they have no choice. They WILL be keeping Main Street Electrical Parade for a year or 2 and will highly likely send it back to Florida.
Thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed your video! It's been many years since I've been able to hear and see the parade live at the park. Again, thanks for sharing!! Michael
I went to Disneyland when I was 11 back in July of 96. Pretty sure the magic of this particular experience gave me such blues when I got back to real life. Wish I could go back
When I first watched this, I didn't know where in Disneyland this was filmed, but I can now tell that it was filmed from the Main Street train station!😄
I remember in 1989, we sat on the triangular section of the inner hub. A year later, we were sitting over across the street from the Disney Clothiers store. My Dad has video of that 1990 parade, but it was a great feeling that we were all unified in this big event that was making everyone clap together and just bringing all sorts of smiles.
Remember when I saw this back in 1996 Peter pans float broke down and got to listen to the music an extra 10 to 15 minutes, have to dig in my files to see if I can find my dads video and I will upload it
I love this parade! It was great to see from the Disneyland train station. I have never seen it from there before and it is neat to see from above and afar, you really can see the whole parade quite well! Good Job!
There's actually pictures of my older brother on my mom's shoulders while they're watching the Electrical Street Parade in 1996, I don't know when they went exactly. My mom was pregnant with me at the time, and I was born Jan 1997 so they might've been at this specific one.
It would be cool if they would do a run just like this. I would love to see the original floats going down main street and the blue fairy starting the parade. The original music would be the final touch to relive the old days for many. I had seen this in 2006 in the California Adventure but this would be better.
yes Disneyland is getting Main Street Electrical Parade for one last limited time, and no WDW is not getting Paint the Night. That is staying in Disneyland
for the 50th this is how the Baroque hoedown ought to sound they're fooling us by using the Tokyo Disneyland electrical parade soundtrack I'm an MSEP expert can't fool my ears. and also it's 50 non-consecutive years.
since i made that comment it looks like those plans have been scrapped. Walt Disney World was nice enough to cancel the rumored 2013 return for Spectromagic and MSEP will be there for at least 3 more years. they recently started dismantling Spectro and are using piecwes from it to mend MSEP.
It's A 101% SHAME With What Disney Has Done with The Most Recent Electrical Parade Version. I HATE IT! The Cinderella Dancing Is WAY To Modern & The New Dresses for That Unit NOT Good! MEMORIES Of DAYS GONE BY. I Weep for The Future.
Now this is how the Baroque Hoedown ought to sound and NOT the streamlined Tokyo Disneyland version they're currently using. in 2022 it'll be fifty years (sadly not straight years) and hopefully it'll remain in Disneyland where it all began sand should never have left. Paint the Night is piffle and Light Tragic ahem Magic was a disaster.

I just became an 8-year-old again. Thank you for this.
Beautiful. One of the best experiences on Earth.

Salicious Bum DisneyLand Tokyo has been running the Main Street Electrical Parade for 15 Years... Since 2001...
That's right the parade never gets old
Do you mean “the new paint the night is to Hong Kong for me” because that parade originated from Hong Kong
Thanks. As a Florida resident my daughter grew up on this parade multiple times each year, and I still think this is the catchiest jingle.
paint the night is staying in Disneyland, it it not going to WDW

I was working at the park that day! Ah memories...
Do tell 😃!
this was shot on my 10th birthday... I'm gonna just go cry now it's been almost that long since I've seen this parade in person.
So your birthday is May 26, 1986 is that correct?
I immediately fell in love with that parade after seeing it in 1994, was so sad when my family returned in October 1996 & realized it was gone.
This version ran until November 25, 1996..
@@drpolfandianeI don’t think we were there at night during that trip, so maybe that’s why I never saw it.
THANK YOU!!!!!!! Watching this made me cry! I miss watching this parade at Disneyland so much! I can't believe that they change the music and took out the blue fairy! Hopefully they will bring it back to Disneyland someday!
5 years later the parade is back home.
Without this parade, the awesome Paint The Night would not even exist!!! It maybe old, but this parade is still going and will probably never die.
TBH, I think Disney calling its return an "encore engagement" means that after 45 years we're going to lose it for good:/
They are doing an Encore, but will hold on to it. I know they will. It's too popular and too loved to die.
Chris9017 I hope you're right but considering what they're doing with Tower of Terror, I have my doubts
Disney lost the rights to Twighlight Zone, so they have no choice.
They WILL be keeping Main Street Electrical Parade for a year or 2 and will highly likely send it back to Florida.
Gregory Wallace GOTG seems to be driving people away more than anything

I so miss you Main Street Electric Light Parade😭From Back during my Early Childhood visits to Disneyland from Preschool to Elementary !!!!
Thank you for posting this. It seems to be the most through collection of the floats that appeared for the longest run, including King Leonidas!
GOOSEBUMPS WHEN THE LIGHTS TURN OFF

Please do! What a treat💕
Great video and great sound!! Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s overwhelming me with some great memories.
♥️

I saw this parade in Florida but I know the MSEP will be better off here. I'm hoping for paint the night to be WDW 50th anniversary parade.

The original music would be the final touch to relive the old days for many. I had seen this in 2006 in the California Adventure but this would be better.
I wish I could have seen this parade when it was still in this park. I have only seen it in California Adventure.
It was the same parade until 2009 when they changed the soundtrack and replaced the blue fairy.
Recently been reported that this is coming back to Disneyland early 2017!
It is and there is no confirmation, but after the holiday season, Walt Disney World maybe getting Paint The Night.
Chumbersdee But it will be the Crappy Underliner Mix that used to run at WDW just a few days ago. The Classic Version seen in the video is much better
yes Disneyland is getting Main Street Electrical Parade for one last limited time, and no WDW is not getting Paint the Night. That is staying in Disneyland
Mikey no it isn't, the version used now is way better!
The way it looks to me Both coasts are going to have this parade for the 45th, it's only staying until June.
EARLY 2017
I GET TO SEE THIS PARADE WHERE IT RIGHTFULLY BELONGS FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME
Gabriel Valdez Sammmmeee
It was magical when it was at Disneyland...on Main Street. Hopefully it makes a.return soon.
Can't wait for it to return TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!
very cool, though the new Paint The Night Parade is kind of too loud lol🔊😲
I was there that year!! The farewell parade right?
The memories... back when it would cost about $35 for admission. Now that's the cost of 1 soda.
Now that it's back it doesn't feel the same because all the floats aren't back their in a backstage room or demolished
Daniel Godoy plus the music is not the same
HeiZunberg true
The factory that had them had lost some in shipping or broke them the wearhouse they were in was a very bad place
for the 50th this is how the Baroque hoedown ought to sound they're fooling us by using the Tokyo Disneyland electrical parade soundtrack I'm an MSEP expert can't fool my ears. and also it's 50 non-consecutive years.
1996 - The Year It "Glowed Away"
Now it’s here again but only for a limited time.
I had an idea for paint the night to move to WDW for their 50th so the Main Street electrical parade can have a homecoming to Disneyland.
Farewell, Main Street.
Hello, Hailee.
I would like to know how those floats are driven. Is there somebody sat inside or are they remote controlled?
Thanking You
Hazel
Please bring it back 💫💯💫
I remember back in the 80’s Pinocho was with gepetto and their float was monstro
I think that was the season (1983?) before they added the Snow White, Peter Pan and Pinocchio units.
since i made that comment it looks like those plans have been scrapped. Walt Disney World was nice enough to cancel the rumored 2013 return for Spectromagic and MSEP will be there for at least 3 more years. they recently started dismantling Spectro and are using piecwes from it to mend MSEP.
By a cast member of Keys to the Kingdom at WDW, MSEP stand at MK and Spectro come to Disneyland...
CLASSIC
Or what about the parade at Disney California Adventure ?
i don't THINK it's wide enough there either for Spectro
Parade starts at 2:17
It's A 101% SHAME With What Disney Has Done with The Most Recent Electrical Parade Version. I HATE IT! The Cinderella Dancing Is WAY To Modern & The New Dresses for That Unit NOT Good! MEMORIES Of DAYS GONE BY. I Weep for The Future.
how did you get an upstairs view?
unfortunattly the Spectromagic floats are too narrow for Disneyland's parade route.
We can only hope....
Whoever made this vid Clapped like way too much

is this from 1996
Yes
if the rumors are true Someday = Spring 2013
First time I saw this I was faded on reefer.
Bring back paint the night
