Not trying to be rude but why does she look so old? Her wrinkles aren't normal for someone of her age
Tysm for upgrading your narration’s quality. Your voice is so good and the ideas you have are absolutely on point. Glad to see the channel grow, you are probably my favourite pop culture commentator 🥰
I feel that 30 is for people who are older divorced, have children because they can relate to this, unlike someone like you songs that we can all relate to. But that doesn't mean 30 is bad album
Right.
My momis a divorced amd has 2 kids (14 and 31) and she hatws 30 lmao
Relatability should not matter discussing the greatness of an album
@@Diego-gg1rc albums are great because they're relatable
@@Nonyah123 that’s not true, I also relate to a lot of music, but as an average person it shouldn’t matter if you relate or not, for example you could write a song with lame execution, and be so relatable, and maybe you may like it for that, but doesn’t take away the fact the song is shit, and the same with albums, take Spur for example, it’s relatable for me and many other people, and it’s more like able bc of that, but that’s not what makes Sour good, it’s perfect lyrics and sometimes instrumentals. If you only like relatable music then you do you, but relateability doesn’t take away the fact if it’s good or bad
Adele is 34 now and she is going to sing about topics that are in her life like all artists do. If you are younger and feel like you can't relate to divorce or being a parent, then only listen to people very close to your age range. You'll be missing out on some great music though. In addition, Adele's music has always appealed to older people. Even my mom who is in her 60's likes Adele and she usually doesn't like the popular music out today. That is why she sells so many units, everyone buys her stuff not just folx under 25.
Regardless, this wasn't her best album for me either. Touring is very, very hard on artists physically and vocally. But it is where they make the most money. The residency would be a great alternative for her since she is in one place and she can probably have her son with her. Adele will be fine because....well she's Adele.
A lot of younger people liked her album though what are you talking about?
I am under 30 and 25.I have been listening to Adele since her second album.Even if I can't relate to most of the material on her albums,I still enjoy them. Also folks is already an inclusive term you don't need to use an x for it.
@@indica666_ There are comments below from some people under 30 saying they couldn't relate. If you are not one of those people, why exactly are you offended?
@@niccole3542 So then enjoy it, no one is stopping you. I can use whatever terms I please you don't have to like it.
It is completely okay for people to express their grief in the fact that one of the artists they loved doesn't produce relatable material anymore. Taylor Swift is 32 and Lady Gaga 36 (using their example since they're some of the only other comparably big artists out there), but their music still appeals to the audiences they started out with. Their music has matured too. Folklore and Evermore are nothing like Speak Now. A Star is Born soundtrack is a far cry from The Fame Monster, but the themes the music deals with are quite universal. So age really has nothing to do with it. Of course as an artist Adele has every right to make music about whatever she pleases, and clearly she still manages to sell. But as audiences, we all have a right to feel a bit sad that her subject matter isn't as wide appealing anymore, there's nothing wrong with that, and there's no reason to be mad about people expressing that.
Idk what people are about. 30 is a phenomenal album. I don't have to relate to everything or anything. The music and stories she's telling are incredible. Personally I liked it way more than 25. The only problem is that it's not being promoted which is the hugest mistake.
I completely agree!! People are saying that they can’t relate to it or that it’s not as good as her previous stuff, but I completely disagree. If you truly listen to the lyrics, they are some of the most personal, raw, and relatable ones out there. Songs like Hold On, Love is a Game, Cry Your Heart Out, and The concept of Woman Like Me are applicable to so many life scenarios. It’s just crazy how people think this is her worst project thus far because that couldn’t be further from the truth.
@@Alexis-dq5ko Well said! I love how Adele experimented with new sounds & wasn't afraid to be vulnerable in her lyrics. People are missing out honestly.
I agree
Facts!!
We can't just be in the moment and enjoy anything, anymore.
We are in the age of ME and only ME.
If something doesn't represent ME then it is automatically written off as offensive
@@Alexis-dq5ko well i mean i liked 30 more than 19. But people are allowed to not like it or are allowed to express disappointment over it.
I think the problem with the Vegas residency is that the dates were too early. Had she scheduled it for the summer, she and her team could’ve had more time to get everything ready and make sure the production was the way she wanted it to be.
I think they wanted to latch onto the lead single hype, while it was still hot and on the charts which makes a lot of sense since the summer calendar will crowded with other big acts. The design/production team couldn’t execute the logistics unfortunately.
@@miss_bougie6653 Yeah I can see why they chose to do that but at the same time, I doubt that if Easy on Me died down in hype, people would lose interest in seeing her like, come on, it's Adele, who wouldn't want to go see her in concert?
she reminds me of Enya, doesn’t do a crazy amount of promotion, the music sells itself, and they both sell a lot of physical copies of music- maybe because they both have older audiences. They also are both very private people and take long breaks between albums.
She is not promoting the album. She's back in her cave for almost 7 years, again. 😭
Tbh I really like the album. The first time I heard it I wasn't the biggest fan, but it grew on me, and now I really appreciate her lyrics and the production of the album. The problem is that many songs are 5 or more minutes long, making the song so difficult to promote on radios. 'Can I Get It' is one track that will work, I guess.
@@joshtrye3353 how is that a problem? Back then before the streaming era songs often times used to be that long. I like Adele for following this tradition and caring for the music instead of being a money forced sheep like a lot of musicians these days.
@@disskraht7878 because the songs are slow and therefore get boring when they're so long
@@donkeykong3628 slow and long songs equal boring? That's false. Maybe it's like that for you, AND EVEN ME, but there are a lot of people who like long ballads.
@@disskraht7878 well clearly I was talking about my own opinions? Given how successful 30 was, many people loved it how it was. But it was an utterly boring album for me
Honestly I think it comes down to three things:
1. She rolled it out on all platforms at once including streaming which was something that she held off on with 25 and that (couple with the industry changing in the 6 years between releases) is why the sales were high but not as high as 25 or 21.
2. People soured when it was revealed she backed up all the vinyl factories and caused a scandal.
3. The cancellation of Vegas was not good if she’s not promoting the album in other avenues.
Adele is a global icon and it really doesn’t matter. The fans will continue to Stan her next release. Next case
Well reason why she cancelled the show was the equipment was coming in on the day of the show but she didn’t see it till until it was coming and she wanted a prove everything just to make sure it was good show. She said this in the graham Norton show
Just not true the album has been ready since 2021…she said this herself. The vinyls were already being processed. The pandemic stopped it. Around the time of her snl show; she was supposed to start her era.
I think Adele is a severe introvert at heart. The pressures of excellence probably weighs extremely heavy on her especially living in an era where it only takes one mistake to blow it. She always needs to recharge, and to me, that’s ok. Her contribution is already legendary. If a sabbatical is what she needs to remain top tier so be it. We’d miss her, but she always comes back with heartfelt hits.
I had already traveled to Las Vegas from Boston for the opening night of her residency when she canceled. A few things I'd like to add: in addition to taking off work and paying flight and hotel costs, we were required to be vaccinated AND have a negative covid test taken within 48 hours of the show. A self-test was not allowed. Rumor has it (😉) that Caesars was going to offer testing onsite, but there was no mention of this on the website and none of the employees I spoke with had any idea if that was true. I was only aware because of the many reddit threads created by other people going to her show wondering the same thing. I had 3 testing sites cancel on me and scrambled to find another testing site in Vegas the day before the show. Keep in mind this was at the peak of the omicron surge and demand for testing was crazy. The anxiety of whether I would lose my money if I couldn't find a test or tested positive was through the roof so it was a massive relief when I tested negative. I found out she canceled immediately after I got my results.
Yeah, she facetimed with some fans at her pop-up shop outside the Colosseum and gave away free merch (small stuff, nothing big or worth much), but there was no official communication from her or her team that that was happening. Without knowing that was happening, why would I show up at the venue when the show is canceled? To beg her to change her mind? lol. Of course not. I found something else to do to enjoy my limited vacation time. I hate Vegas and would have never gone there for any other reason, especially not in January. I did not get to facetime with Adele, I was not offered to have my flight or hotel paid for, and there has been no official word on what the game plan is from her or her team since. The original refund window in early February was only extended after fans demanded an extension because we hadn't even been given new dates yet. That's Ticketmaster. People who bought tickets on StubHub are not eligible for a refund unless she officially cancels, but if she reschedules, they can only sell their tickets which are probably worth significantly less because people aren't willing to risk her canceling again.
With all the hoops and hurdles required to attend this destination concert, the stakes were significantly higher than if she was coming to my city and canceled. Word on the street is that she's aiming for July in a new venue twice the size. July is only two months away and not enough time to know if we can afford to go again and a venue twice the size is not the same intimate experience we were sold. I'm not rich, but I'm incredibly lucky to be privileged enough that I could probably afford to go again, but for others, this was their first vacation in years and they went all out because it's Adele. The fact that it's been almost 4 months with no official word is not okay, especially for those of us who were already in town when she canceled.
That is terrible. Sorry you had to go through all that.
PS I loved the pun lol
This is why Celine is the queen. She performed the same day her dad died, and same day, her mom died. Because she doesn't cancel her shows last minute. Both videos are on the youtube. Even when her husband died, she came back to stage on the scheduled dates....within a month
30 isn't for everyone like 19,21 & 25, it's intended for more mature listeners
The type of music you listen isn't based on maturity my guy. People just have preferences.

The whole era was mishandled, but truth is Columbia was expecting another 21 or 25 size smashed, but you can't keep banking on the past especially in an era where Adele has always been such an anomaly.
Has anyone else noticed that 30's billboard top 100 chart history is similar to 25's? Hello and Easy On Me both charted at 1 for 10 weeks, When We Were Young and Oh My God started out strong, then dropped, then came higher, then fell off. I'm hoping 30's next single does decent kind of how Send My Love did on 25.
but on bb200, 30 is doing worse, it's in a much lower place than Taylor Swift re-recording, surprise released and 3 years old albums
@@toannguyenuc2568 its not doing worse. Adele has more pure sales, but lacks streaming because her fan base is mostly older people who don't use Spotify. I never understood this comparison of Taylor Swift and Adele, completely different artists and rollout and target demographics.
I love this kind of analysis

The comments talking about how this beautiful album doesn’t relate to younger audiences but my 16 year old self really connected to this album. The emotion and truth behind every word in her album, you just can’t disconnect from the intimacy she has created.
Absolutely agree. I’m young myself and it’s my favorite album from her.
Exactly what I thought too man. I’m 21 though, but after my first adult breakup this album hit so hard. I don’t get how people can’t find something in that album
@@janny9820 It’s my favorite too!! Definitely 30 and 25 are my top 2
@@lucasessman1910 right!! Mine was just a messy breakup and the songs “Love Is A Game” and “I Drink Wine” hit hard! 😭 and there’s definitely a lot of variety in this album too
I'm 54 years old, happily married with two adult children. I appreciate that Adele wrote 30 largely to express her feelings on what was going on in her life but that doesn't mean I am going to listen to it again. The songs are too long and drawn out and the emotions too raw, and that's not what I look for when I listen to music. This makes me sad because I consider 21 one of the greatest albums of all time.
I don’t know why people in the comments are talking about her album? That’s not what this videos about it’s about the “era” surrounding the album, he just went a little more into depth about her tours as well. He never said the album was bad just that the era surrounding it was messy.
“To Be Loved” is that song and she won’t even sing it live. Time to resurrect Whitney Houston and her sing it then!
Whitney was worked to death, let her rest.

I thought the album was beautiful. It truly helps you to dissect your own trauma in what you’ve been through. You don’t have to be a parent to relate to “My Little Love” when I listened to that song I saw myself as the child instead of the parent and it helped me realize that my parents had no idea what they were doing and were just doing what they thought was best and it helped me to realize I needed to forgive. Music is how you interpret it. “Hold On” helped me to realize that I need to be proud of where I’m at right now and In time I will continue to heal”
No song has to mean exactly what the artist wrote. And honestly the internet really needs to understand that not EVERY piece of content released by artist and influencers are meant specifically for them. She did not dedicate that album specifically to y’all lol
She needs to change her formula. She's getting boring
@@isaacortiz4617 I can see how she can seem a little boring, but I truly don’t think she cares. She seems to hate the spotlight anyway so I think she purposely tries to appeal to very few ppl nowadays. But who knows lol
THIS
Your comment makes me so happy and I feel seen lmao. Took the train of thought right outta my head
So from a fan’s perspective, I saw her residency online, booked it immediately because I’m thinking (this is a once in a lifetime opportunity holy crap ADELE). I booked my flight/hotel AT Caesars (non refundable even after paying for insurance). A month later, she posts the video on twitter and I’m some things aren’t adding up. The rumor about not liking the set is probably true based on the people that live and work on Vegas saying the same thing. Luckily, I was able to get a refund on my ticket and baby a trip to Vegas is still fun!
But, I definitely won’t spend my time and money on her anymore. If a song plays in a store or something, I’ll give it a listen, but I won’t be streaming anything. Mainly because canceling (sure, things happen), habitual canceling, and the fact that people were FLYING INTO Vegas and already there when that video dropped….that would have actually pissed me off.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
I had the same experience with Lady Gaga when she cancelled her Joanne dates (it wasn’t the first time I had attempted to see her either but it was the first time I paid non-refundable booking and delivery fees and had to pay for postage).
The difference is Gaga had a somewhat reasonable excuse
I feel like Adele gets away with things other artists would get dragged for (at least by Americans, ppl from the UK might feel different).
@@watchyourmouth6105 Taylor gets dragged all the time for singing too much about her exes when she only has about 30% of break up songs while the rest of 70% talking about fame, cancer, bullying, friendship, mental illness, family, pandemic, etc. Adele whole discographies revolves only around love and heartbreak. Enough said.
@@anisanurraudah8383 we're not talking about discographies here, we're talking about activities (concerts and performances)

Would’ve loved if the whole issue on her mass vinyl production was also discussed in this video. It’s such an interesting talk point.
This!
The fact that Adele doesn't need features speaks volumes. Her voice alone sells.
Imo Adele lost a bit of passion for this job. This era felt so forced, you only need to watch some of her latest interviews to see that she’s over it. She’s had very little interest in promoting, hitting #1, making videos or touring (hence the very unprofessional cancellation). It’s like she was pressured and dragged kicking and screaming by both her label and fans to make more music and switch to public profile mode again. So the album came out (as it was overdue), she made two videos out of it, did a couple of interviews here and there, showed up at the Brits and yeah that’s it…
She gave the fans what they needed and now all she wants to do is go back to her normal/ordinary life with her son and partner, you can just tell… So whether you like it or not, she’ll disappear for another decade 🤣 and that’s fine. These celebrities are people just like me and you and their mental health is as important as ours.
@Adele 😂
Regardless, still she got another 10 week number one hit out of “30”!
@@deadchannel5811 sure she does but that wasn’t my point🤣
I’ve come to the realization that Adele doesn’t actually defines her music as “ ERA , or some type drastic changes of singing, outfits etc…” like most artists or Pop girls do.
She just makes music that resonates with herself. She writes them , sings them and then if she likes them , she’ll sell them to the public.
She's taking for granted that she still is able to sell records. Get it together girl!!
30 wasn’t her biggest album but that how she wanted it to be. This was a really personal album to her and I don’t think she wanted it to be as commercial as “25” bc she didn’t do a lot promo after the album release unlike 25. I think we can all agree 30 was no means a “flop” tho, it was the best selling female album in a single year since her own 25. I personally think 30 is her most versatile and lyrically best album, so give it a listen if you haven’t already.
I agree. Not everything has to be commercial, viral or a massive success to be good, and I think she was always aware of that when putting 30 out. Specially after having so much success with previous works.
Adele said 30 won’t fit everyone and is def for older souls and full of bigger topics that she went through around the time… I love the album and love Adele being Adele always🥰❤️ never want her to make music for anyone besides herself😌☺️
If I'm being honest 30 the album didn't do it for me, there are some good songs but in general it's pretty lackluster especially since us fans have been waiting for more than 6 six years for new music and the way Adele handled her vegas residency thus far wasn't it
30 has some gems, but she really blundered the promotional campaign 🤦🏻♂️ Easy on Me is the worst song on the album imo, I Drink Wine or Cry Your Heart Out would’ve been way more interesting as the lead. Oh My God is a perfect second single, but it feels like she immediately abandoned it after the video was released… a shame since it kinda had hit written all over it. it does feel like she’s just over it all, which is also a shame considering she could have a massive and appealing era if she’d just reinvent herself a bit

Not to be mean, I love Adele, But I hope that the music industry pushes a Black woman like the music industry did Adele. During the 90s you had Performers like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Toni Braxton (along with Celine Dion) rule ballads and sell millions of records globally. Now in today's industry it seems like Black female performers are erased and if they exist, there are few and they are oversexualized and are marginalized to just being "Urban" artists because they are Black considering the Black Women are the foundation to every genre of music from Rock to Country music (a Black woman did create Rock music). White America has wrongfully stolen and white washed every genre of music from African Americans and because the music industry is ran by white men, Black artists are depicted in a negative manner while white artists are given more recognition, sell more, get more awards and have the opportunity to perform any genre including Hip Hop and RNB after stealing Rock, Country and every genre from African Americans. The fact that Pop simply means popular and white artists are associated with being Pop is sad. The 2010s decade even til this day has only had Beyonce and Rihanna and now somewhat Doja Cat as the only Black female performers, but even they are wrongfully portrayed, oversexualized and not recognized for their work. Rihanna is the top selling artist of the 21st century and has the most #1 hits within the 21st century and no one regards that. Rihanna should've been artist of the 2010s decade and the racist and sexist music industry did not even award her. Rihanna, Beyonce and Doja Cat are Pop stars but are also relegated to being Urban artists because they are Black. The music industry has ruled in favor of white female performers since the start of the 2010s: Adele, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Myley Cyrus, Camilla Cabello, Dua Lipa, Billie Ellish, Now Olivia Rodrigo. Black women can sing their behinds off and in my opinion are the best singers on the planet. Plus no music genre in America from Rock to Country music to EDM to Hip Hop would exist without the Black Woman. Additonally Black women have created so many trends in the music industry (if not all) Hopefully the racial and sexist dymanmics of the music industry will change for Black women in the near future.
i totally agree. there are so many black women who have what it takes and more. i listen to a vocalist like Ayoni and am maddened by the fact that she’s getting passed over for white girls singing in husky tones (with improper technique) using the same five riffs and runs over and over again. listen to Ayoni if u don’t! she’s the type of pioneering pop artist the world needs right now.
@@indoorplant2392 Back at ya
music will never be as good as the 90s era and that's the sad truth
Johnathon at the end of the day the music business is what it is, a BUSINESS........the reason white artists tend to override black artists (even in the same style/genre) is because their BRANDS are much stronger and far-reaching.
this comment needs to be pinned, you SPILLED 👏🏽
Isn’t it interesting how with the pop divas when they hit their late 20s early 30s they start releasing “flop” albums as the people love to say, like when they debute in their late teens or early 20s they are huge! of course get labeled as the new “_insert artist here_” and they make it to their 3rd/4th album and all of sudden are now considered flops and the audience has moved on to the younger artists. But my point is it’s usually always the 3rd or 4th album 🤔

She went Hollywood and left professionalism at the door, I grew up with her and she's now non relatable. Her opening her concert shop while at the same time cancelling her performances says it all. Coz she’s white
She’s basically the new Lauryn Hill. Buy tickets at your own risk. 🤷🏽♂️
@Adele there’s a difference between making a few mistakes and cancelling several whole ass shows for a man. She doesn’t enjoy or take live performances seriously, which is fine, just stop booking them.
I haven’t been on a real vacation where I actually left my state in years and years, can’t afford to. So if I did choose to go somewhere like vegas it’d be for the most important/meaningful/life-changing artist that I’ve discovered and it would eat up all the money I’ve saved. To be canceled on 1 day in advance would probably ruin my entire year mentally and financially. I really feel beyond awful for people who experience tragic disappointment like that, Adele surely isn’t the first to do that and won’t be the last. I know shit happens so I’m not gonna place blame on an artist for something that I don’t know the details about, but my understanding doesn’t change the fact that buying tickets for shows that are very far away from where you live seems really risky to me…. I’ve seen artists cancel last minute too many times.
Idk if it just me but i never wanted to attend an Adele show i somehow assumed it would be boring and full of momswho "dislike todays pop music" though i love her music I would choose a Katy Perry or Britney spears las Vegas show over an Adele show anytime

Authentic work doesn't really have to be relatable, neither do I expect it to be. The music and the depth of lyrics is just something I wont relate to when I am 20, but can surely appreciate. The target audience of this album are not the instagram creators, they are the lowkey peeps. So if the buzz isnt created, doesn't mean it is flop.
she's a perfectionist and a control freak and can't handle people not meeting to her standards and struggles with adapting. This is why she hates concerts and cancels them - she gets way too stressed and can't handle things not going through her vision.
Or she is overrated c singer and mediocre
Her music is always depressing.. beautiful voice but always the same subjects… heartbreak

30 is forgettable, it doesn't have the long lasting effect her previous Albums had
I'm not her fan but 30 is not it
Her second best album
It such a shame cause the songs she records aren't made for touring (hence all the vocal issues even AFTER the surgery!) so I get that. I found it strange that she said she HAS to have a baby on a timeframe - ah...it doesn't always work that way!
I didn’t like this album. Pretty forgettable, I thought. I miss 21 where every song was iconic and so strong and huge and will be remembered. This was a bunch of songs you would never play unless playing the album
it's so sad that she released an album after so many years and just disappeared again.
Easy on me was a good way to start the era, then she should have released the music video for "Oh My God" the same day as the album release, that way she would have secured a debut with 1M copies, then I Drink Wine and Can I Get It should have been the next singles.
Adele is an amazing singer and probably (most certaintly) a good person, but 30 didn’t do the Tsunami everyone was expecting, like it had a big big start but now, without any promo of any type it’s free falling. idk what happened with vegas, but whatever, she needs to learn to adapt to streaming or her album will lack longevity
I loved 30 even tho I am not the target audience, I feel like Adele just isn’t the performer/touring type. She values her privacy and prefers to stay out of the limelight and it’s completely understandable, but her and her team should at least be more communicative when it comes to cancelling cuz she performs once in a blue moon!
The album was barely genuine, she's become a popstar and 30 was just money grab....the promotions, all those interviews, live shows....the songs themselves are empty, yet have emotional reference...people got it, hence it doesn't have the same impact.....she's never promoted anything this much, even 19...30 was just a fail.
Well some people said the same thing when reputation by Taylor came out, but later many people starts appreciating the art.
I just don't understand how 30, one of the biggest albums of the last 6 months, had only two singles. Easy On Me was huge, and rightfully so, but after that I saw literally no promo for the other single(s). We know that Adele doesnt need an upbeat dance song to be a hit, literally any one of her ballads would do very well on the charts with enough promo.
Girl just release your third single.
What are you waiting for? 😭
You already performed I drink Wine at the Brits. Just record a video, promote it a bit and done.
Why is she so slow with single releases.
30 was a hit anyways. 4 million sales is more than any other popgirl.
Except Taylor
30 is such a beautiful album. It's my favorite by her. I know she said she would never release To Be Loved as a single as it is too personal for her, but that song to me is the best of her career. It's so raw and heartfelt and a bonifide hit. Her vocals are insane on that song. I'm still hoping that one day she will release it.
30 is an album for older folks. It doesn't have the innovation, rigor, and creativity that younger people look for, and not because it's a ballad album. Lana Del Rey's albums are essentially all ballads but the production and lyrics always speak to the pop market's largest audience: young people.
I'm not saying it's a bad album, it's just kind of. . . there. The songs are good, but not groundbreaking. The only memorable songs in my opinion are My Little Love, Woman Like Me, and To Be Loved (which the youtube performance she posted was better than the album version in my opinion).
The problem with Adele's brand is that she's a hermit while simultaneously trying to be relatable and normal. That may have worked in the beginning of her career. But when you're partying with famous folks in court side seats in begins to wear off. It's honestly kind of depressing when you see someone as private as Adele crying to her iPhone camera about cancelling her vegas show. Why take 6 years off for this? I don't think the show is coming back. The show was supposed to run from january to april and it's already may. If it was truly postponed for this year we would have heard about a new date by now.
I had the same concerns. Her release pattern I find to also be slightly ‘selfish’. I get taking an album takes time, but does it really need 5 years 🫣. I’m a huge fan of Adele, and her music was some of the first music I ever listened to and truly found solace in the lyrics. I also loved her because of her wit and humour, her relatability and down to earth attitude. But like you said, it’s really wearing off lmao. Every time you hear about her, it’s because she’s either spotted somewhere really posh or she’s dolled up on the court side with her fiancé (despite the fact she dons a HUGE diamond ring, she won’t confirm the proposal- again, it all seems so odd and slightly attention seeking)
The Vegas show is a genuine concern. I had tickets booked and I was fully ready to fly in from the UK to see her perform once I had sat my final exams, but then she cancels it the night before, and doesn’t speak of it for 6-7 months?? I haven’t been able to get a refund on the plane tickets I had booked and it’s all a mess. I hope her and her team sort it out ASAP.
@@ellieg91 exactly, lana could only wish to sell like 30 during her last eras
Yet there’s al lot of people under 30 who are childless and unmarried that still relate and listen to this song to this day. You’re talking bs 😂
@Adele yeah that makes sense and is fine, but how do you explain the cancellation of her residency so last minute and yet no rescheduled dates released? For 5 months? Lmao
imo, "30" has some of her most powerful and unique songs "To Be Loved", "Hold On",, Woman Like Me" competing with some in "21", but the album does feel different, for me, it felt like a book, with a preface, introduction, body, conclusion and epilogue, which can be hard to swallow at first. Also, I think she would "save" this era a bit, if she released a music video for "To Be Loved", that way even though she won't perform the song there'd be a awesome powerful video to the song that could be repeated for ever....like I Will Always Love hehe
She said that over Covid, she actually really wanted to tour again with the release of 30, but she said it didn’t make sense to release in 2021 and then not tour until 2023. She said her son liked it when she toured and wants to do it again. She said she won’t do it this time around, but maybe when she comes back again.
I just remember in 2017 she came to my city on her tour. I wanted to see her so bad but the cheapest tix were around $500. She was even coming on my birthday! I was gutted, but I didn't want to spend over $1,000 just to see her.
I found 30 to be a boring album 💁🏽
Yes
@@kaylam2556 like no replay value at all just very dull and lifeless
I’ve loved Adele since ‘19’, but after she canceled two concerts (years apart) that I had tickets to see, I won’t bother seeing her live again - not even a residency 😔
I completely forgot 30 happened tho…
I disagree Honest, EOM is the most commercially friendly song on the album and the clear lead single which is why it was no 1 for 10 consecutive weeks
Really can’t stand this new Adele. She became a huge diva with a complete different personality , the way she talks is super cringy now, noticed after watching her on the Graham Norton show
she still the same
@@weinhereeeee9271 lol no she isn’t
I don’t think music has to be 100% relatable to be enjoyed. We were all listening to panic at the disco 1st album and had no idea wtf they were singing about. All the comments are saying they didn’t like it cause it’s meant for divorced moms is silly.
I am 24 but I can definitely resonate with 30, which is by far my most favorite Adele's work.
I’m 23, I I cried to this album if you don’t relate you just haven’t been through enough as yet.
I love the album but the pathetic scene she made when she cancelled her whole residency for clearly non-COVID reasons (because you don’t get COVID from December to April) has ruined it to me
I feel like she should’ve released some of the more R&B songs as singles instead of the Pop songs that are more “typical” in the Adele formula.
I would have chosen: Love is a Game, All Night Parking, Cry Your Heart Out and I Drink Wine as the singles. MAYBE even My Little Love(make a radio edit).
Oh My God& Can I Get It are easily the most skippable songs on the album. And typical to the Adele brand, the other songs like Cry Your Heart Out widen that brand and step a little out of the box and point toward earlier sounds in her career that were danceable like Cold Shoulder, and Right as Rain. But with the new depth of her current story.
yes I'd rather have an artist be completely honest with themselves and their fans when it comes to things like touring, fan meets and etc. if you don't like touring then just say that. I'd much rather have no tour at all, then one you're not sure will even happen or that your specific date could be canceled. Saves the fans money and the dissapointment as well as helps the artist. This is just my opinion though!
Adele is def. one of the few in our current timeline that can get away with not touring like you said.
xoxo
After all 30 still sold miles more than most releases. But damn could've been miles more if she promoted it fine not even well just fine.
I don't like Adelle's music I find it boring.
I was 19 & I loved 30. Clearly the stuff she went through wasn’t easy and other ppl who have been thru tough shit in life can relate. I think this may have been her best album. I just feel that the audience was smaller cause more ppl relate to her songs about love.
Adele literally said she wasn’t satisfied with the show. That’s a verbatim quote.
The fact that she waited until the day before the show to cancel is a blatant spit in the face of her fans.
If anyone goes to this residency, they have the money to waste. Adele cares about her music but not her fans. She’s abandoned them time and time again for stupid arse reasons.
Having the nerve to say what if she cancels because she’s pregnant! That’s the only reasonable excuse to cancel out of the blasphemous bs excuses she’s given in the past.
Pay attention.
Even with her lack of promotion 30 has sold 7.000.000 copies imagine if her would have promote it 🎉
30 is her best album for me. It would be better without Oh My God. I really like the more soul/jazz kinda vibe with most of those songs. They're not really pop and her voice is great for soul or jazz!
i was actually quite surprised by how shy 30 was. i understand that she's in her 30s, she's a mother and has been through alot. she wants to write about her life experiences, there will be people who'll relate and feel grateful. but, she needs to up her game so she can reach more people. i feel like she could easily be forgotten at this point (as in, her come backs will slowly become less and less successful. with her name falling from the spotlight. she'll always be well known and celebrated but may no longer be someone people care for new releases from). everyone was excited for her come back and then it hit and everyone moved on. it didn't have the same impact that her previous releases had. i think she just didn't see far enough ahead, or maybe just doesn't care as much.
And she has every right to not care as much anymore. All her albums have been about her life experiences and if she stops sharing that’s completely up to her
Many musicians stop making music because of fans becoming entitled and then losing the joy in making music. If it becomes tedious, let her stop and do what she wants
Her last album is boring SUE ME !
The way she has been canceling shows and concerts last minute I don't think insurance companies will get her away for cheap this time. It's a huge loss and she is notorious to do this again if possible. Instead she can do online concerts and people will.buy and there is not much pressure on her but that's upto her team to brainstorm and strategise
not gonna lie, I still haven't listened to 30 cause I feel like I have to be in the mood for it, even now when listening to sad music as a young 23 year old, I gravitate towards artists like Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers or Fiona Apple
The problem with Fan culture right here!
All music is timeless, it's an individual choice. All of her music is great, but she made a huge mistake by canceling her residency. My God, she just went crazy over that black man ( A Mess) she's a recording artist, not a performaning artist, there's a difference. And then she lied about the real reason, she was canceling her show. I will still buy her music and I've seen her in Dallas Texas in 2016.
It sounds like she just has anxiety and pulls out at last minute
Even though i'm 18 I do relate to this album, I feel like the lyrics can listened to even if you're not going through a divorce, you can listen if you're going through a break up or even if your crush didn't like you back
Not liking a song or songs just because you don’t relate to them is the stupidest fucking thing…
Adel should stay in London and have a short÷term resendency there.
The fact that she did 2 private celeb live events yet couldn’t commit to the residency comes off as very elitist. Like, how many times do you really have to sing to your friends?
Adele gave fans $2000 each to everyone who flew in for the shows that were cancelled
There’s nothing special about Adele and people have the audacity to compare her to Beyonce like bye her songs sound all the same
@Adele Adele is average white woman didnt Adele give her Grammy to Beyoncé enough said pls stfu
@Adele at least Beyoncé don’t cancel her shows Adele don’t care about U I promise
When Adele signed her record deal with XL back in 2006/2007 she negotiated that she would not do music festivals which is like what all new artist especially on indie labels do. She would later on do Glastonbury as a headliner but probably for a lot of money and hype. She really doesn't like performing.
I love how industry change, she just don’t care, world don’t need her music now..she think : i’m skinny now and that’s enough, totally mess
I call BS on her being unhappy with the production of the residency. Caesars has done multi-year residences for Celine, Cher, Mariah and Elton. They are PROS. No way they don't have everything together for a show. It's also not like Adele is going to be on stage doing that much either.
I love how a lot of younger people are immediately commenting "oH WeLl 30s iS FoR PeOplE tHaT hAvE gOnE tHrU...." 🤦♂️ you guys don't no crap about music smh I remember all her other albums but "30" just wasn't promoted great like the other albums! AGE! has nothing to do with it! Example: Nicki Minaj 30+, Cardi B 30+ and Sia 40+ phenomenal singer have trended and music still plays! With no issue! But Adel all of a sudden doesn't hit with 30 cus "tHiS hItS mOrE wItH dIvOrC-" 🙄😒🤦♂️.
Adele can make fans happy just with special recorded concerts, award and celebration days medleys.
Eventually those internal hemorrhages will make her voice irreparable damages, and then making a living of what she was instead of maintaining for decades what she can do.
no offense and I guess this comes with the territory of being a fan, but you and others seem to forget that Adele is human first and foremost. Also, besides the cancellation of an entire tour, Adele was been pretty aligned with her touring commitments- im not sure why we are counting vocal issues against her when many of the others have them (instead of singing live they use a backtrack). I do feel as if this era in particular has been a very difficult one for her tho and she would need major PR rehabilitation for it- because unlike acts like Harry Styles and Taylor Swift her success and brand lies heavily from GP support and people who arent engaging much on social media- meaning they have less of an interest in what she is doing and in turn if she keeps rubbing them the wrong way then they wont support her as much.
I purchased 2 copies of the album. One on cd and one on cassette. I also purchased the Easy on Me single on cassette lol
oh i thought we were not gonna talk about it 😳👀
