I have 2 kids and another on the way. My husband and I were lucky to fall pregnant when we wanted kids compared to others. I was born to be a Mum. But I'd never ask a woman when is she having a baby. Some women simply aren't ready or don't want one, or are having trouble falling pregnant or may have lost a baby. Its personal, and someone else's business. If they want to talk about it fine, if not no worries we can talk about something else.
What’s wrong with asking? This is a way to make conversation. Besides babies are a good thing. If you’re not gonna have a kid, then just say you’re not having kids. Like no offense if I ask if there’s gonna be a baby I’m not asking how are you, I’m asking ooh is there gonna be another baby. Is there gonna be another person in the world. That’s a beautiful thing.
It's never okay to ask a woman if they are going to have kids.
It's a question you shouldn't ask.

Why is it 'never okay'?
Children could be a touchy subject for someone; they could have fertility issues or have suffered miscarriages.
