  • A 34-year-old Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer resigned shortly before he was arrested in connection to a sex crime investigation involving a teenage girl, according to JSO. According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call on March 3 from a woman concerned with something she found on her 17-year-old daughter’s cellphone. The mother said she discovered inappropriate communications between her daughter and a man, who was identified as Josue’ Garriga III.

This Officer obviously had little or no RESPECT for AUTHORITY here in DUVAL because IF he did he, would have RESIGNED earlier...NOW, look at what the people over him has to go thru because of his actions..I wouldn't DARE put my SUPERVISOR in a situation like this.... When it comes down to it, it's about RESPECTING those that have Ruler over you. He does NOT have RESPECT FOR the SHERIFF'S authority and that is SOOO SAD!!!

The thing is when people like you or me who see this as despicable, we would never do this but those that have that mindset will and they don't care who it impacts cause you have to be sick in the head to mess with a child..I have no mercy,no remorse for adults that mess with children..they belong under the jail especially a damn cop so don't try to understand cause you never will..

So you ask the press to come in to talk....then you say little to nothing. Tariq gave you very softball questions and you muttered your way through the entire conversation. No questions about his previous employment. Surrounded by investigators but no one noticed anything? This entire interview is a poor attempt at putting a bandage on a gaping rotted wound. The is one of several police officers investigated in less than a year. By now you should have decisive answers. Good thing they have a trusted voice in the community joining the team vic miccolucci. That's not a coincidence right.

He can't talk about it in depth cause it's an in going investigation with an outside agency..He said that and he didn't want to mess up their work but you can tell he wanted to..

@@MrTimothy87 you are correct in your statement in regards to the current case with this particular office. But as it relates to the other 2 cases this officer is linked to , he said nothing which speaks volumes. I would feel alot better if the sheriff spoke about any corrective actions taken after the first case the police officer was involved in regarding police brutality or even the second one. Keep in mind this particular officer has been employed by several counties and no one is saying how he was able to fly under the radar without any corrective actions. He just resigned and went somewhere else. As far as the sheriff goes something along the lines of corrective actions made public once police are involved in an incident would go a long way with the public if he truly wants to be transparent. The other cases are closed so there is nothing hindering him from speaking about it. Hiring a news anchor days after this comes to light does nothing to quite suspicion. Letting him resign rather than firing him gives the very opportunity that allow him along with others alike to continue the same despicable behavior. Atleast with firing him when he goes to a different agency there's a hope they can investigate further before putting him on the streets again. And that's the bigger issue here. This isn't the first time something has happened and it won't be the last if policy doesn't change

@faybrown3057 we can agree with that..the only thing is that wasn't addressed in this interview..I wish that he would've but they stayed away from that and we can agree that should've been addressed..
