    Just purchased this car yesterday had a wonderful experience at Demontrond Automotive Group in Houston. Our salesman Fabian was extremely professional and efficient. The car (2020 GT2 Stinger white / red interior) was a dream to drive back home. After a 350 mile drive back home, here is my impressions of the vehicle. Lots of lookers and thumbs up, solid car, quick on the pedal, great mpg and quiet interior. Very smooth driving vehicle, the overall quality I liked. Awesome sound system is phenomenal. My overall experience with this car A+. First time Kia buyer here now I am sure not the last. Thanks Guys.

    Great review Ron, and I do love the Stinger. I've only seen a couple or so on the roads here in the UK and they are good looking cars. Much has been said about the marketing of the vehicle (or lack of) which has no doubt affected their popularity, but as a brand it seems every other (normal ) car on the roads here is a Kia C'eed, Rio, Sportage etc... so they must be doing something right. Many will now refer to the 7 year warranty but I think it's a lot more than that.

    I've got a 2019 GT2 Limited with just 27,000kms on it and already has to go in for brakes - I suspected warped rotors since I get a shimmy when braking. And I'm not hard on brakes at all - definitely not my driving habits. Goes in this Tues. and hoping I don't have a dispute with the dealership over it. I've seen many, many other Stinger vids that also mention the rotor issue...but I've also heard some Kia dealerships have tried to either deny it or play ignorant. Wish me luck, lol. Nice vid...love the white and red scheme.

      Catholic Firefighter not in this particular instance. The lease program is nationwide in the US which is what everyone is talking about here. It doesn’t depend on dealerships or really anything. You can simply walk in and say I would like to lease this car with the Kia incentives and every single dealership in the United States will jump at that. They make tons of money if you simply take the Kia incentives and don’t ask for any dealer incentives on top of that.

      Smart mode will do it nd it will also shift the gears quicker--I found the smart mode to be best overall because it supposedly adjusts--so if you drive a little quick--it will shift better--eco and comfort upswitch the transmission too quick--In comfort I was going 40 and it was in 7th or 8th almost at idle level rpms.GDi engines need to be run out once a month at HWY speeds to keep carbon buildup low--always use the best octane also if you drive for MPG.

    Ron
    Help me understand something. I watched one of your videos regarding the type of gas you state is recommended for your vehicle.
    You said that you can use 87 octane.
    I own a Genesis G70 3.3 T.
    The owners manual says that I need to use premium fuel.
    The fuel needs to be rated at 91% Octane or above.
    If I use fuel with lower Octane, the engine may not perform well and I will suffer reduced gas mileage.
    How is it that, you have the same motor and you can use 87 Octane?
    Just curious!
    Or is it that you have a 4 cylinder engine instead of the 3.3 V6?

    • @khronin
      @khronin 4 года назад +2

      He has the V6--the service dept told me you can use reg and it will lose 20 to 30 hp.It is not recommended--you can google why--I believe the fuel does not burn as clean and you risk dirtying up fuel injectors and carbon buildup that could permanently cost you some HP unless you get an expensive clean.Thi is if you do it often.if you use a tank of regular--then the next 3 or more tanks are premium--it will clean any of the deposits.This is a hi tech engine with twin turbos--I budgeted for premium when I got it and lan on using that only because I do not want problems and do not want to lose HP.

    Very comprehensive review. Inspiring 👍. Considering a GT2 myself. I’m kinda all over the place. Also looking at a Scat Pack Charger, Arteon & Ram 1500 (I know). Did you drive either of those vehicles before you purchased your Stinger?

      Wow. I’m cross shopping pretty much the same vehicles. My current list from first choice to last is: Kia Stinger GT1, Honda Accord Touring 2.0T & the Ram 1500. Im considering lots of other vehicles too like the Chevy Blazer RS, the new Kia K5, Toyota Camry & VW Arteon.

      Johnathan Albert Small world. I picked up a GT2 on Monday. It came down to the GT2 & that Accord 2.0T. In the end it came down to 2 things. I’ve only ever owned one (save for a Mazda 6 that I had for about a year) FWD vehicle and really didn’t want another. The Accord is so impressive though in every other way. The second thing and the thing that really killed the Accord is the targeting. Two days before I got the GT2 one of my neighbors shared in the neighborhood chat that someone took 9 airbags from Accords that previous night. When I googled it there were some stories out there about this trend. When I called the insurance company to inquire they confirmed that the Accord is one of the most stolen vehicles that they deal with. That did it. After just two days though I’m very happy with my purchase and I hope you get what you decide you really want.

      I am about to pay something similar per month, but it is a bundle, such as car payments, fuel, servicing etc. But running costs come out of pre tax income and I need to reduce it, to drop into a lower tax bracket. Maybe that is why people pay so much, as it actually works cheaper in the long term.

    No way I would THROW away money on something that depreciates in value like that. I mean I understand enjoying yourself and driving a nice car but it's just a silly purchase. I got a friend whose car poor just to ride around and look good can barely afford to put gas in that b**** after insurance and car note and house note. Silly people trying to keep up with the Joneses

    • @piersoncomposer

      These cars haven’t been depreciating much. And speaking of depreciation, have you seen what happens to the price of premium cars? Mercedes and BMW certainly depreciates a crap ton. If someone likes a car like the stinger why not?

      @@piersoncomposer the gt2 model's msrp was around 50k. Currently selling at 34k, they did depreciate by alot. I waited 2 years and now thinking about getting one.

    • @piersoncomposer
      @piersoncomposer 3 года назад

      @@rogersmith2036 that isn’t a lot of depreciation compared to any other car. Take a look at Mercedes or BMW and their cars that are a few years old with similar mileage. I just looked for kicks and I can get a C class AMG fully loaded under 10k miles, for $46k - that is about the same level of depreciation. The stinger is in line with that.

    • @piersoncomposer
      @piersoncomposer 3 года назад

      @@rogersmith2036 plus, the GT2 almost always has some kind of lease incentive. Usually between $4900 and $7500. So lease and then buy, and you get a heck of a deal on a new car.
