- Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Volo & Giratina True Final Boss Fight (Nintendo Switch)
This is the hardest fight in the game and the final big battle with the true villain reveal. You fight a fully stacked team of level 70's, then after that fight Giratina spawns and instantly destroys the one that's out. Once you defeat Giratina, it turns into Origin Form for one final round. It is faster and stronger as well. Did I mention your team gets no heals in between fights, so come prepared. I used Cresselia to heal up during the fights to get my team back with revives lol. Now we hunt for the full dex. Enjoy the fight!

The game for the most part is easy enough. This fight I either was a couple levels low or they are just monsters lmao. Now to hunt all the dex entries and face Arceus! Stay Tuned Part 2 of the playthrough next!
Volo understood the technique of stopping you before you healed
@Wayne Brown you could've just emulated it as well. the game leaked almost 2 weeks ago
Lol my team was level 80 and that damn giratina still damn near wiped my whole team 😭
They haven't even bothered to Over-elaborate on moves either like the 'main gen' games; and this actually makes the combat move so much more slick and faster.
I mean, I love animations that gen6 used for say Dragon Rush; but this is a nice 'streamlining' trade-off.
I felt like I cheated when I used pokemons like Cresselia, Heatran, Regigigas, Dialga, and Palkia in this fight instead of using my main team
This fight was ridiculous. It was basically an 8v6 match, with no chance for healing in between. That might be the hardest Pokémon battle I’ve done, BARELY eking out Cynthia. Who may or may not be related to this guy.
Agree, but I managed to defeat him after lots of time
Man I thought Cynthia was the strongest in her bloodline clearly her ancestors are the strongest
@@goh8899 Don't worry, Cynthia is going to get Giratina herself soon and surpass them
it was so ridiculously difficult, especially if you aren’t overleveled. My pokemon were lvl 65 on average, and i would normally beat volo with 2 pokemon left - only to get shit on by giratina. This was a nightmare battle to win.
I'm sure he is related. 😉
I love that they're giving Us these Quirky ancestral-based references too. It just shows what they can do realising even just a fraction of exploring the rich lore of each gen We love so much. It's almost like We are playing the anime out but in the best possible way. Those villainous girls even look like Mars, Jupiter and Saturn knock offs lol.
"it's almost as if you spat out of the space-time rift just to get in my way"
Arceus: *yeah, bout that*
Volo might actually be right possibly.
Arceus literally sent the protag to stop Volo and Giratina
So basically the MC in Legends Arceus was a Deus Ex Machina.
Volo added in Pokemon masters EX too today rn

Okay, but can we just talk about how freaking BADASS Shadow Force looks in this?! Giratina's literally tearing open reality to attack you!
Yeah your righf
He's going in the distortion world
It’s dope af I love it
reminds me a lot of yorus ultimate from valorant, if you’re familiar with it.
I mean I personally liked gen 6's one more I just couldn't get enough of that hardcore 'flash frame' anime style and actual dramatic animations that were so amazing. This one's actually derived from that gen in X and Y. Take a look at that one if you're not familiar, but the way Giratina charges out of the rift is simply amazing. This here is slower however, still visually striking. But I feel they should still include the older ''dedicated animations'' (like gen 6 Brave Bird) for some moves.
this dude could have gotten away with everything if he just politely asked to borrow the plates
True lmao
What i wanna know is why he helped you after you got kicked out. Kamado wouldve gotten smoked by dialga and palkia, and without him showing you cogita to get the red chain you couldnt help. So the space time distortions wouldve gotten worse forcing arceus out
@@cephery8482 to make him seem more believable, and to get the protagonist to get the rest of the plates without suspicion. i assure you that if volo did nothing the protagonist would figure it out earlier. also the protag would probably ask volo for help themselves
@Joaquin Aw man, I thought the story was great...
@@cephery8482 propably because for example the lake trio got a plate too. By the testing of heart that mesprit did, hed have hit a roadblock.
And who knows, if he was even able to meet arceus without the plates. Maybe he thought, Arceus could have done its judgment from the realm it resides in, so it was safe to keep a plan b and trick someone into getting the plates for him, if hed fail to force it out
Or maybe he thought hed find additional hints on the plates. Who knows
Damn. They really did go back-to-back Cynthia theme, legendary theme, Giratina theme in one battle, huh. They knew Gen 4 had some bangers, and went ALL OUT!
The moment I heard Cynthia's theme kick in I just about shit myself
@@ErectileSceptile I was worried too but I overleveled his team for like almost 20 levels, so it was an easy fight
@@derinko I was fairly overleveled (but not 20 levels overleveled) and I had an extremely hard time with this haha

Hello, Cynthia. How is Garchomp?
My love, i missed u.
I thought i killed your entire team with draco meteor
I'm surprised Giritina didn't think you were him when you and my puppet Lucas entered the Distortion World... at least for a few moments, anyway.

Palkia: *uses ultuimate move and only tickles Giratina*
Giratina: *uses the most basic dragon type move and one shots Palkia*
tbf it was a crit
know ur place brotha
Not to mention in its origin form it doesn't have claws.
There is always something amazing about having lower ranked legendaries try to fight their legendaries above themselves. Dialga and Palkia are very powerful, but Giratina is ultimately their superior and master. It's like Goku and Vegeta trying to fight Kid Buu.
What "terrible might" does to a mf.
Say no to pokésteroids.
"You _finally_ beat Giratina!"
Quite the understatement.
Holy shit Giratina woke up and chose violence...TWICE
He's cracked in this game
He's cheating bro damm so very hard.
He woke up on the wrong side of the distortion world
Seriously the transition from the legendary Pokemon theme to Giratina theme is so damn good. I really like this fight tbh. I hope they follow the good parts from this game and make another Pokemon legends type game with even better graphics and designs.
Volo is simply Epic.
So much better than cheaply playing on nostalgia like ILLCA. Take risks and make New Legendary villains! This game has honestly done wonders for this series.
@@netweed09 it's not like ILLCA "played on nostalgia", they arent game freak and the pokemon company forced them to do the 1:1 remake because they arent allowed to modify their child
not having to deisgn nothing new it's also cheaper and faster, if you have to blame someone for that remake blame the pokemon company
@@davide_notaro Not really? ILLCA took the project, isn't it? They knew BDSP wasn't even going to be a Sword and Shield re-skin.
That's people with moneybags in their eyes before they've even signed the contract, it's obvious. So, I'm not sure why you're apologising for them but whatever.
@@netweed09 "people with moneybag in their eyes" they are professionals with families to maintain, it's their job not their hobby
if a huge company comes to you and says: "ok we need you to remake this game, but it has to be 99% faithful to the original"
you just say "ok, nice"
it's not like making a 1:1 remake it's immoral or something (and if you think that's the case you should definitely go outside more)
and it's not even false advertising because it was clear from the first trailer that the game was like that
ILCA was only the "artisan", and they can be criticized for everything related to the graphic/art style etc... but the DECISION to do the remake like that was 100% pokemon company fault
@@netweed09 Apparently, a lot more was planned for BDSP but the Pokemon Company held ILCA back and made them make the BDSP we know now.
Search it up on youtube yourself, apparently a lot of the evidence comes from a concept art book that ILCA revealed themselves.
Well, Now I know the reason why Cynthia have Giratina in Masters
I cant express how happy i am to see that they finally did Giratina Justice. After platinum Giratina seemed to be forgotten by most, just another one of those legendaries you can catch. When I saw that you could catch Giratina the boring way in BDSP broke my heart, i had no hope left for him in Legend Arceus. But when i saw that signature "BISHAAAN", i have never felt happier in my life. They finally did Giratina, Ruler of the underworld, one of the actual pokemon GODS, justice by not only making him OP, BUT ALSO GIVING HIM A SECOND PHASE
Those animations, too... my god.
Legend Arceus made all Trio overpowered pokemon
Yep a boss with a second form is such an original idea😂🤣😂those Japanese & their sooo innovative ideas that they do in all of their games😂🤣😂
@@drizztdourden666 he didn't say anything about them being innovative tho, he just said they finally make his fight a tough one.
@Hoàng Ân Phan Lê I know what I meant,you’re the one that’s confused,I’m right,these are facts.
You know shits about to go down when a more menacing version of Cynthia’s Encounter theme starts playing at the beginning of a boss fight.
And then Giratina reduces your entire team to mere quarks.
I find the story idea that between this time in legends, Giratina wanted to stand against it's creator yet in the platinum timeline it saves it's siblings.
Well, Lucifer is said to hate and bear a grudge against his Father. But he still loves his siblings (The other Archangels).
After beating him here its said that the arceus protag essentially scared giratina into helping preserve reality from the distortion world, so when cyrus tries to tear it down, its your character here that saves sinnoh through giratina.
After you catch Giratina Professor Laventon says it's decided to protect the world.
@@KisiroKitsune That de-escalated quickly....
His beef is with dad, not the siblings.
God I love this fight. I remember beating Volo first try but team weak, then Giratina showed up. Beat his first form with a Roar of Time to make it cinematic as Dialga was my last pokemon. I was so happy but then his second phase came out and I was excited, amazed and fucked. I want more games like this, seriously.
It remind me of final fantasy final boss fight with their multiple phases

To all the kids that grew up playing Gen 4. This fight was for us :')
This whole game was for us. Thank you Gamefreak.
I feel like gen 4 received such little attention, but then they did this and it felt like the game itself was made especially for us!
May those who have had not survived till this.. rest in piece.
Also i mean gen 4 fans had omnipotent arceus in conquest..
I just wish that if there is another Gen 4 remake, Giratina, Palkia, Dialga and Arceud get mega evos because it would make more sense for the gods of Pokemon to have mega evos and I bet that their designs will be absolutely epic
@@rajalakshmipremkumar251 Primal reversion makes more sense tbh as they are that old.
@@_Tzer well yeah, but mega evos are way cooler
I love how Giratina’s wings initially spread from right behind Volo, as if he’s sprouting them himself, fully transforming into a true demon.
Personally, I think this is the best battle of entire pokemon games
Agree 100%
and it's not even close
What’s second?
Only fitting that Cynthia gets one-upped by her ancestor.
Ye
I love how shadow force animation changes when he's in origin form
When I realized that Volo has the same pokemon as Cynthia + Giratina as his last pokemon, I jumped out of my seat really fast in complete shock and fear.
except milotic was replaced with arcanine which is still pretty dope
When I saw that Spiritomb, its level and remembered that he had a Gible and Togepi, I knew what was coming.
It's interesting how cynthias design resembles giratina while volos resembles arceus.
Is Volo still alive? From his figure of speech, he is sounding almost like some Demi God. Feeding Giratina lots of power and even talking about not giving up on goals even if it takes centuries.
I’ve seen multiple people saying this Boss is the hardest in a Pokémon Game. Up there with Red in HGSS. And the fact that it is an 8V6 is pretty crazy. I had like 2 level 100 Mons, and Giratina still Swept both of them. Honestly I couldn’t agree more. And trust me, Giratina is that strong when you get it in the cave at Colbat Coastlands as well.
@Joaquin bro I remember i couldnt do shit to ultra necrozma. I just equipped my TREVENANT with quick claw and used destiny bond xD . Really cheap trick
@Joaquin Dude, it rocked my team at least 10 times. I had to chenge my moveset, and get lucky to win.
Gotta make use of those grit pebbles and status moves
Red isn’t remotely difficult though, just high levelled
My level 73 yanmega somehow soloed the origin form. I got a strong style hypnosis off, then giratina missed, then was to sleepy, then after my yanmega got his attacks in, giratina missed again, before hitting me for half my yanmega's health. Then he was too sleepy to attack again, so I clutched it with the yanmega, while all my other pokemon were dead.
Oh, and I had no revives, since I didn't expect a battle. I still somehow beat it all first try, and I still don't really know how I did that.
I love how when Giratina finally comes out the first time, his face is just a perfect "AND WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW! HUH!? HUHHHHH!?"
i was like
"why does he not have his classic theme like in platinum, but just the standard legendary one?"
>second phase starts
me: *Holy fuck!*
goosebumps
i absolutely love the transition between phases its done beautifully with the transition of the music and animation
It was an amazing transition
Same here, I thought maybe you'll go fight him in origin form in turnback cave but nope, phase 2 bitch.
The way they changed Cynthia's piano theme to be darker and more somber was interesting
But what really sold it was this fight in general, giratina has always been known as arguably the hardest legendary fight in the series but right after a Cynthia fight without a chance to heal is just brutal,I suspect this is going to be a nuzlocke ender for many in this game
(cough ultra necrozma)
that music change when he goes to origin form is nuts, i just caught him but i had to watch this video just to watch that transition again
The transition is phase 2 was godlike (no pun intended). The heartbeat straight into the iconic guitar riff was so terrifying yet so saisfying at the same time. And the timing of the song kicking into high gear at 12:37 when he landed the origin Shadow Force was nothing short of amazing. I love this battle man.
12:17 godly
Ok. Seeing Orgin form Giratina one shot Orgin Palkia and have the ability to two shot Orgin Dialga is fucking terrifying.
You know, I never seen Dialga and Palkia Origin Form like that before. That's a new one.
Pretty sure that lore-wise Giratina is more powerful than those two, since the Distortion World is meant to keep the entirety of space-time in balance. Giratina aspired to overthrow Arceus directly. Palkia possibly hoped to do the same, according to its Origin Form description, but only Giratina was enough of a threat to be banished and act as an opposing force to Arceus. Or was that his design from the beginning? Who knows.
Giratina is in a league above them so what do you expect?
Giratina's face like "what is this little shit?"
Even when his team was revived it still came down to the wire
this fight was easily the hardest fight in any Pokémon game vie ever played. insane. kinda wish there was a steady build of difficulty before this fight instead of the massive fucking difficulty spike we got but honestly, I'm just happy we got an actually hard as nails fight in a Pokémon game.
@Auresc0 The fight alone is hard

15 MAX REVIVAL
By far one of the hardest Pokémon battles in the series, if not the hardest. Essentially it's a 6v8 except the enemy team is full of great Pokémon and the last two are hilariously OP.
I loved it
Tbh it's second hardest for me.. reukra in insurgence kicked my ass.
sure it's a fangame but it's the best damn showing of what the regular formula can do.
And legends is the beginning of a new formula.
@@_Tzer I've played insurgence, and it wasn't him that curb stomped me, it was that elite 4 member WITH THE FREAKING BATON PASS TEAM
10:09 was so good, like, not just the scene itself but also the fact that this theme is the same one that plays right before the giratina jumpscare in platinum, which is probably giratina's most memorable cutscene in Pokemon, so this scene just made me so happy about this game lmao
4:26 Garchomp is like "uh oh".
no but giratina’s wings unfolding behind volo before it reveals itself was a really nice touch
12:19 the way he collapses and the heart rate sound flatlines but then he recovers instantly and transforms is just AMAZING. The music made the moment way more interesting.
I like how at 10:19 it references the jumpscare in Pokemon Platinum
1st time battling Volo: barely lose to him

Giratina: omae wa mou shindeiru

Volo "fainted"
I love this fight because even though it was a struggle and took me a good few tries to get past as well as giratina reviving itself which I only saw for the first time on the attempt on which I beat the fight, it felt awesome to finally get past it. I really wanted a fight in a pokemon game that would make me struggle like I did when I was a dumb kid who sucked at pokemon because those moments gave me genuine memories of playing the game.
He really went full on Cyprus
Volo to complete the unholy trinity of psychotic blondes with Lusamine & Oleana.
12:30 Did Giratina's second phase's Shadow Force just hit exactly in sync with the music?! Gave me shivers!
Am I the only one freaked out that Giratina was able to go into its Origin form... In the normal world, Not in the distortion world...? Or holding its orb...?
...And that, it went into its Origin Form after getting the 'enraged' effect that Arceus (Who was the one that banished Giratina in the first place!) Had placed on many Pokémon around the Region...?
Also... Uh... 10:20... That gave me 'Pokémon Platinum's Box Legendary Entrance scene' vibes...

Even with a lvl 100 garchomp and the rest of my team in the high 70's (no legends) this fight was still tense and I love it.
12:35 that one of coolest shit i have seen in any pokemon games.
I literally took one look at this dude when he introduced himself and knew he was going to be a villain, I think it’s his eyes, I don’t know what it is about them but they scream crazy to me.
Man this boss battle is tougher than I thought. I did beat him but when Giratina shows up, I was down two of my Pokémon. I didn't get the chance to revive them.
yep hence why i used Cresselia's Lunar Blessing to keep it healed and obscure itself. Once his pokemon started missing moves I started reviving my team.
The game does have 'faults' in it's armor. If you manage to early-catch that Lv45 alpha Heracross; that basically goes a long way towards you completing this game. I caught that and it basically breaks all of early-game open, until you're forced to face Lv50s and above. But going back to that battle his Giratina though is another matter, that will need (as the author stated below) the other Legendaries. Cresselia's crazy buffed Lunar Blessing makes it far more doable.
12:22 don’t mind me, this is just my replay button
The music change from first fight to origin form was just brilliant and then to top it, origin form shadow force is just a gorgeous move tbh!
I won this the first time but only with a couple pokemon left. This was the most satisfying and fun battle in a looong time. I want more battles like this. The music from start to finish was a masterpiece.
Giratina is literally an elderich cosmic horror, even Pokémon canonically has confirmed this now 9:38
I knew that Volo would be probably end up being an antagonist by the end of the game but DAMN. I finally got to this part last night and I was not expecting him to sick Giratina on me after our battle. Can’t beat its altered form yet. The no breaks in between the battles is a whole new level of difficulty. This game continues to amaze me.
Imagine this fight in a nuzlocke
Giratina here is the embodiment of “I see no God up here except for ME.”
Specifically when he tanks a spacial rend to the face and responds with a one-shot
Someone noticed it in the comments a few months ago, but as a reminder.
During Volo's fight, you see him giving orders to his pokemons.
When Giratina arrives, he doesn't give it any orders.
It came for you, and you alone.
"you outsider! it was almost as if you were spat out of the rift just to get in my way."
arceus voice rings in your head...
"pfft. yeah."
Omg this fight was intense. I was down to my last Pokémon (Aqua the Vaporeon) and I was in the red zone. This fight was nuts and I loved it!
“Now hand over all the plates you gathered! I will be the one to bring them together! My desire to meet Arcues cannot be contained any longer! I need to know what is is! I MUST know what it is!”
I have seen that line so many times
I honestly adore the idea that In legends, giratina remains his violent self, attempting to destroy the world (creating space-time rifts, attempting to stand up to their creator) but in D/P/P, he’s saving the world from people like Cyrus, dragging a man attempting to destroy the universe into a world of nothingness
12:37 omg he uses his red claws to rip open the wormhole!
i could watch giratina's second phase transformation for hours and not get bored
Your team helps me a lot to defeat giratina and volo. This deserves to get high views.
I love that the flute made the title screen music from Diamond and Pearl it was nostalgic asf for me being one of my favorite gens growing up
I love the line Why! Why you! Why do you have the blessing of arcues when he loses
i like how giratina looks up at origin palkia and dialga like "oh hey man what are you doing here"
Arceus fears him.. and the theme has guitars AND A HEARTBEAT ON THE FLATLINE.. this is a giratina before it changed before it seemed content with its position.
Also giratina is called eldritch..
I myself think giratina rules..
Not just antimatter.. but gravity distortion itself and shadows.(a pokemon who rules a world made of shadows iirc was a line)
And that is why.. arceus feared it sent it away... yet it can bring an eldritch presence in someones heart.
Another thing to note is
Your required to fight dialga palkia and giratina.. and the moment you best giratina the azure flute is made.. all 3 required to summon the original one as cynthia said in platinum.
I have never truly felt a challenge in a Pokémon game, especially the more recent modern games. I skipped several generations and only picked up shield since it came on switch, skipped let’s go and snap and saw this had a more botw feel to it. THIS, though, this was surprisingly difficult going into it blind, I was almost reminded of my childhood frustrations with this game. This truly felt like the dark souls of Pokémon fights and I love that they did this. I hope more legendaries have a 2nd/3rd phase to their fights and they make the catch rates harder because that’s my one main issue with this game in terms of challenge.
Thanks! This video helped me a lot to beat Volo!
The phase shift between Altered form and Origin form is my favorite thing in the entire game
There aren't a lot of trainers here, but Volo and Ingo is strong even if you are overleveled.

use your grits, it can make your team way more tankable
I barely managed to beat giratina, i had 4 pokemon left including the sacrafice pokemon for the first round, and i somehow barely managed to beat giratina with samurott and heatran, and darkrai finishing it off
When volo not only had Cynthia’s Pokémon but summon giratina I knew she was Cynthia’s ancestor but actually scarier 😱😱😱😱
The shot of Volo and Giratina, amazing.
DiaVolo
Italian for Devil
if that was intentional I love this game all the more
the music with volo with giratina theme is just a remix ver of giratina's normal theme and you can hear most of the parts with the normal theme
but in the origin form part of giratina you can hear that one thing at the beginning of the normal theme
and another normal theme parts of it
Just when I thought I was out of the water fighting Cynthia’s ancestor… out came another encounter that you have to continue with your party as is, with your only chance of reviving is that you may be able to go twice
EDIT: Earlier today I learned that Giratina actually has 2nd phase, I legit had to walk away and take a breather
EDIT 2: After lots of strife, countless sacrifices, strategizing, and a bit of luck, I finally beat Volo, Altered Giratina, and Origin Giratina.
I was like wtf like phrases 2???????
The moment the piano stared I had several flashbacks. This is how you use music. Absolutely fantastic.
If cynthia and lusamine would have a son this could be the result (I mention Lusamine cause Volo is just an insane like her lol)
Smart move using Lunar blessing to stall out to get a full reset for your team. I beat this having Togekiss hard carrying on Giratina
Volo - The new top 3 contender with his 6v8 battle. Nice! I'd like to see more of these difficult battles.
Surviving Volo then having my lone typhlosion get bodied by giratina really put into perspective how good this game is at providing actual challenges. Ofc I came back and cheesed the fight with cresselia after but that’s not the point lol
Ngl this fight took me 5 DAMN TRYS to beat honestly one of the hardest pokemon battles I've ever done absolutely loved it
