  • TIG welding on the open root with downhill root pass technique.
Downhill a TIG root is a valuable technique to learn that comes in handy when in tight spots, and to upgrade your skills as a TIG welder.
The video gives the viewer good insights into how to place a good and solid root pass. With the appropriate training and practice on the part of the operator, learning to downhill root can become an invaluable skill!
If the puddle gets too large, gravity will simply pull it away ...(especially at the side quarters). This is why molten metal is especially challenging for beginners.

That was nice, I guess it just comes down to practice practice practice huh. Maybe you could demo what to do with your filler wire when you want to rest your feed hand for a moment. If you know what I mean. Thanks

Another great video man! 👍🏽What I appreciate the most about your channel is the efforts you put in creating videos, how well you explain things and how positive you are. Just thinking of the idea of how to position myself to perform these welds, and than to see how incredible your root always looks, makes me realize how incredibly good you are! In a sea of welding channels with phish bait titles and no educational contents, you are my favorite as your content is ithr best and knowledgeable! Thank you man!!🙏🏽🙌🏽
