    I am not a professional welder ,I do not weld pipe or anything thick enough to require more than 1 pass. BUT, I have learnt so much from watching this channel, every video is packed with information and tips on how to do it. My welding has improved significantly. Thank you.

    Man, as always, that root looks beautiful. I busted a test yesterday using a dinky little 150 torch, lack of fusion on one pass from running too cold. They let me retest and I used my Heavy Hitter rig. Ran her hot and passed no problems second time around.

    Lil late getting to this video, but I had a weld like this in Oklahoma, they switched bolt ups to weld ins, man I loved it. Got to run 250 filling just shoving wire into the puddle. Very good experience man, not much changes in my opinion, just gotta burn hotter to burn that valve side. Great video Marko 🤙🏼 hope that rig is still treating you well brother and the lens too

    Hey mate, I was just curious about what amps you were using for the root run. Trying to back feed but also having a pretty solid pipe to suck the heat out. Would I be right in saying about 125?

    • @X3MTIG
      @X3MTIG  Год назад

      120-125 would be good starting point.

    Can you put a 2 or 3” pipe schedule 40 position so I can see how you do it?

    That’s one the worst fit of jobs I’ve ever seen. Glad you and your fitter were able to adapt and overcome. Are you TSSA or Alberta certified welder? In my time Ontario pipe welders were TSSA but we always had to test out at hydro or Petro Canada.
