@@AboveEmAllProduction I've seen rumblings online that he's not as good as Pete Rock, Madlib, etc. I think Hi-Tek is a dope producer and he "knows the drum". To me, knowing the drum is the single most important gift a beatmaker or real producer needs to have to be considered great. From there it's just them putting in the time to understanding the craft....

  • @DwayneCreates

To everyone hating on Hi-Tek, I would love to see you do a better job. There aren't many hip-hop producers who sample their own sounds, especially drum sounds. These days "producers" like Dj Mustard open up FL Studio and purchased VST plugins to make their tracks, they never sample anything, all they do is take what someone else has created and repurpose it.
I am not saying that using samples and VST plugins is not a skill, considering 90% of what is out there is probably just that. But don't go hating on who is obviously a very talented producer who knows what he wants to hear and has the know-how to know how to mic up a drum kit and record it.
Tek is one of the greats, anyone who disputes that obviously does not know very much about producing nor his history.
