We went to Singapore last year , and let me tell you...3 days weren't enough to take in all the breath taking sights of the city. Yes, Changi is a stunning airport, as is the entire city itself. And the food...Oh , my word!! So good. If ever we go back, we will make it a point to stay there much longer
@@ABC-fd8lb I agree. I was in Singapore 2 months ago, and went to the Singapore Botanic Garden. It's arguably the best city park in the entire world, right up there with an amazing city park in Warsaw, Poland.
Great video, as always, from the two of you. I was in Singapore 2 months ago, and did use the subway system. You can purchase a single ride when you use your visa/mc. Just flash the credit card where the logo is on the turnstile entry and exit, and they know how far you went, to calculate the price charged to your credit card. Thus you don't need to purchase one of those special metro cards, as you showed in the video. I suppose the card is more economical for a resident/regular user, but not needed for a short-term tourist. Having traveled a lot this year, I can attest to this fairly new credit card option being used in subways all over the world, including Hong Kong, Taipei, Dubai, and Izmir. In most of these locations (if not all), the option for credit card payment at the turnstile was instituted in just the past year. Many local residents don't even know about it, and will tell you to get the card. You can also use your credit card when getting on the buses in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malta. Just remember to scan the card when leaving the Singapore and Hong Kong buses, or you'll be charged a higher rate if you fail to do so.
FYI you guys can also use your debit/credit card or Apply pay to pay for public transport on trains and buses in Singapore:) you can avoid the hassle of withdrawing extra cash or paying for the $5 deposit that way
Very good pick on the curry noodle, it's a local favourite. You've found gold in a local cuisine.. finally someone who is featuring something other than the usual chicken rice!
I loved Singapore in 1991, when it was still relatively inexpensive. I tried to go back in 2022 but didn't get to due to complicated COVID rules. I was going to stay in Chinatown near the big hawker center, and after this video, I'm convinced that's the right place for me. I'd rather take the MRT to the new, busy area near the Gardens by the Bay. I went on the Sentosa skyway and although it was a great view, I'm so afraid of heights that I don't think I'll do that again!😬
So glad you guys had a blast during your trip here! 😍 We hope you enjoyed exploring our city as well as trying out our local hawker food 🤭 Come back again soon! ✨
I'm an American citizen with an SE personality... so let's say I've been to been to Singapore in 2013!! 🤗🤗 When I last went to Singapore was in June 26, 2013 though, in its northeast region though of Pulau Ubin. Tell all your Singapore lovers I say hi!! 😁😁
Actually Taylor Swift didn't stay here, though she did dine at a restaurant there a few times. She stayed at Capella Singapore, on Sentosa. I supposed it was more private.
11:40 You don't have to buy an MRT card; it's cheaper to use your Visa or MasterCard. It will touch on and off. MRT fares are cheaper, and you can save on card fees by using your bank card.
The lion head of the merlin symbolises what a malay prince who first landed in singapore thought he saw - a lion. He then named the island as Singapura (or Lion City). Of course he was mistaken as there are no lions in Singapore (tigers maybe but no lions). Which another reason Singapore is also know as the Lion City, and the lion appears on our crest/coat of arms)
Oh I love this video! Love that you ventured outside the city center and showed the multi colored shops and how the owners live above them! Those cable cars look awesome, but I always feel we're taking off in any cable car!
Singapore is not really that expensive if you know which hotels to book and eat at hawker centres and coffeeshop in neighbourhood areas. The transportation system is very easily accessible and not expensive for MRT train and bus rides since Singapore is a small island city. I admit that housing and personal owned vehicles are expensive. Anyway, some people don't live within their means so they complained that Singapore is very expensive including some tourists staying at expensive hotels and eating at restaurants during their stay. Hope that you both had an enjoyable and fun trip in Singapore as well as other destinations!
