For a Singaporean, I strangely get recommended a lot of tourists in Singapore videos and I do watch them. This is by far one of the best I have seen. It is offbeat and well-researched.
Josh and Lisa, the both of you should get an award for your travel video !! To many foreigners (especially the Europeans) and locals, Singapore seem sterile and expensive. But your travel blog video presents so much of the life, taste, local colour and the affordability of the Singapore that few know it to be. Thank you!
I watched your New Zealand trip (I am Maori from New Zealand) and I thought it was really well done. So I watched your Vietnam trip (I spent a year there during the war) and again I thought it was great, I've been back twice. Now watching Singapore as I have spent 4 years in Singapore and 2 years in Malaysia. I know I will watch many more of your travels as I have also been to many other countries. I decided to write here because I heard Lisa say Chicken Feet was her favourite - I have never heard anyone say that, Chicken Feet is my favourite too.....
Being a local, this would be the perfect itinerary that I would recommend to a foreign friend. Kudos to you for doing your research - things like cycling from MBS - Airport and Lazarus Island and my favourite hawker centre ‘old airport road’ is not something that is commonly featured in Singapore travel vlogs. This deserves to be picked up by the tourism board for promotional purposes. Also, mayb next time try birds paradise ie our new and revamped bird park. It’s something that is not featured a lot by foreigners yet.
Great video! This is why "Singapore is the most expensive city in the world" is only partially true, because the only truly expensive things are 1. housing and 2. vehicles (both obviously due to land scarcity issue). Everything else is 100% affordable and this video just proves that you can't just trust everything you see online :)
@@LisaAndJosh Yes, there are 'not so well to do' ppl here as well, even homeless ppl, they do get by, if everything is truly very very expensive, then they cannot survive / live...
I'm Singaporean and I travel a lot for work. I find that it's always possible to live simply in Singapore and not spend so much money. Glad you enjoyed being in Singapore. You're always welcome here.
I'm from Singapore and Josh really nailed it about our expectations of airports 🤣. Even before they added that hugeeee mall, I really got a huge surprise when we travel and saw how other airports actually looked like 😅. And yes, hawker center food.... it's really the place to try local food.
Wow I genuinely loved this episode! Too many fav moments....loved the meal choices, Josh running like the happiest kid towards ice-cream man, Lisa zooming on the train door while Josh teased her for taking endless shots of the empty train, lol! Most importantly the sincerity that oozes from your faces while enjoying the simple things that make you happy. The ending narration sums up why I subscribed in the first place.
Thank you for loving my home country so much! I know it’s not your first time in Singapore, but I’m grateful to be reminded that Singapore is a place I call home and proud to be a Singaporean, as we have a lot to be thankful for on this small little island. 🥰🥰🥰
This was an amazing video of my city. I have been living in Hong Kong in recent years and when I go back to Singapore I am amazed how much there is to see and do in that little island. You have showcased the city very well.
I think you are the second or third travel vlogger to cycle to East Coast and change airports and the first travel blogger to jump on a boat to the southern island. Well done!❤
This is really well presented and interesting tour of Singapore, Lisa and Josh. Hope you had a great stay. Next round, if you guys ever visit again, you have to try out more the nature/forest reserves, places we have. Best of All, they are all free to enter.. - Treetop walk (Thomson Nature Park) - Sungai Buloh Wetland Nature Reserves (Migratory bird lookout / crocodile) - Bukit Timah Hill Nature Reserve (Highest Point on Singapore) - Pulau Ubin (Great for cycling & Mangrove of Chek Jawa)
Love how you show a different side of Singapore to the world, as a local, you’re doing a much better job than us singaporeans at showing off what Singapore has to offer ❤
Hands down my favourite Singapore video of all those I follow on RUclips that have visited there. It so reminded me of the simpler times when we lived there in the mid to late ‘90’s. We lived by the East Coast parkway and used the cycle or pathways there every weekend with the kids, and ate at the Hawker centres. Great memories.
I hope our gov show this video to all the citizens to appreciate how wonderful our country really is. people are just taking things for granted nowadays and complain way too much
for the first time i felt that 47 minutes went past so fast. thanks for loving our place! and kudos on the trip to St John's! i believe not even some locals have went there before lol.
Great F'in episode! It's a simple as that! I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish. I can't believe I'm saying this, but to watch a 47 minute episode, and not wanting it to end! Wow!
There’s a 24hr spa called Gspa just down the street across the hotel you’re staying at. I’d recommend anyone that is on a layover, have time to spare to relax and chill. It’s about $70 for a 24hr access, with free flow food, hot and cold pool to soak in, a steam room and sauna and sleep chairs too. Sharing cause I thought it’s good deal.
Hallo Lisa & Josh, I’m from Singapore and your video is by far the best I have watched. Most of us travel on a budget - the rich won’t need recommendations as they can afford whatever they wanted. We love your videos and we can relate to the things you go through. And Josh is funny, love his sense of humour 👍🏻♥️
Your videos just keep on getting better - they are always enjoyable BUT this one was outstanding - I actually felt I was there with you - thanks so much xxx
Hi guys, I am a Singaporean and I used to worked at Geylang as our warehouse is located there. I used to walk home from my warehouse about 3 or 4 am. That place is still considered safe. Unless you bumped in drunkers who walking around staring at girls. Just be careful when you are alone.
I love that bike ride to the airport, especially the Jurassic section. I'm planning trip to Singapore and Hong Kong next year and your videos are very helpful. With all of the walking/biking, I can see why food is always on your minds. 😊
It's great to see that you guys went off the usual touristy spots, like visiting another island, cycling to the airport via the very scenic East Coast Park. If you do come back again, do visit the zoo and the newly opened bird park, both are near to each other, though they will require a day for each park.
Love watching tourists visiting and praising Singapore. But this video somehow just hits different. Just so genuine and heartfelt. Probably my favourite one out of the many I've seen. P.s I've been in Singapore for 33 years and I've yet to visit some of the places you did 😂
I'm Singaporean and have seen quite a number of travelogues of our little red dot, and this is one of the best! I love that you feature our public transport system and hawker food. You missed out on the residential neighborhoods, though, so if you ever return. I hope you do venture into them and experience more of the local life.
A well shot video about Singapore! Well done! Going to the Hort Park, St John's Island and cycling from Gardens by the Bay to Changi Airport are great introduction to the wonderful greenery and park connectors in Singapore.
I watched many travel/food videos and really enjoyed yours. You showed that it didn’t have to cost too much to enjoy good food. Convenient public transport and another side (non city area) of Singapore to enjoy your holiday here. Thank you.
Josh and Lisa, many thanks for this awesome video of my country. I didn’t know one can cycle to the airport! And the best part is you gave a breakdown of your daily expenses here which may serve as a useful guide to others!
There is a baby merlion somewhere behind that big one, you missed that 😅 Really love your vlog where you add lots of local touches, local hawker food, non-tourists spots where locals hang out, e.g. Henderwaves, the offshore islands... I truly encourage tourists in SG to do that 😊 Thanks Josh for appreciating the tray return system in the hawker centres. 👍🏻🙏🏻 Hope you guys will come again 😉
This video is really unique and gives a different kind of exploration idea around this small nation. Lovely couple and a really cool way of introducing your adventure in Singapore. Hope you enjoy the time there and keep up the good work on your videos.
Ok, you got an audible laugh out of me when Josh flung his shoes at his head at 39:56 That looked like a great trip! I'm jealous of all the delicious foods
nicely video overall that most tourists don't get or go. Just FYI on the dry noodles dish you ordered at around 12:53...Erm it is a dry noodles dish with it's own sauce at the bottom you just need to mix it in. The soup is provided at the side to drink on it's own not to be poured into the noodles. The flavours would be totally off as then the sauce/gravy mixed in the noodles were being diluted by the soup. If you want soup version you will need to order noodles in soup instead. (that was one "mistake" I've seen a few western tourists made, I wonder why?).
Guys!!! Thank you so much for your video. I’m feeling very emotional right now as I’m booking my ticket to Singapore! I wish you nothing but the best!!!
Nice video. Thank you very much. Good to see you enjoyed our little island country. Hopefully you find some of the hope for humanity back in the states.

Just came across your videos & just wanted to say thank you! So easy to watch & just super helpful. Last time we were in Singapore was 2008 so a loooong time ago. Can't wait to go back in a few months using some of your tips!

Just came across your videos & just wanted to say thank you! So easy to watch & just super helpful. Last time we were in Singapore was 2008 so a loooong time ago. Can't wait to go back in a few months using some of your tips!
Just a personal thing, I would have visited Maxwell Market instead of Lau Pa Sat. Consider it for your future trips.
I know I’m late with watching this, but it really makes me want to go to Singapore!
