Don't feel uncomfortable in Malaysian village life is not as convenient as the urban area, but they're still friendly. U can use a simple words in English that is easily understood by the villagers, I believe they'll understand and will explain it even if not as well as you...👍👍👍

The "piranha" fish is called pomfret. There are some variations of them. Like white and black versions.
You can find tempoyak at Kak Nik Patin House or Patin Pasu in KL. Go to Temerloh if you can travel further for the source. Pais Patin (Grilled catfish with spicy tempoyak sauce) and Gulai Patin (tempoyak catfish curry) are the examples.

FYI, if u do not have long sleeve available to ceover from the punishing sun, u can always ask the local where the Eco-Shop or Ninso or similar where u can buy the UV arm-sleeve protector for USD$0.60 each. And 3 hours is too long for YT video, Why not break it into few parts where u can monetize better in term of generating more views, attracting more subscribers, likes etc as not many viewers can complete watching one 3h video straight ! lose-lose for both. Just my opinion, again TQ for yiour good video and brief history of the sites you visited!
Lastly, the "monk" is a scam! his eye kept eyeing how much $$ you had in your purse! do not easily trust anyone, just use your lady instinct too
We have uploaded multiple shorter videos on Malaysia if you want in parts,, but we prefer making big movies, it is what we enjoy the most, but we have both options for everyone to choose
because it is ramadhan. Muslims do not go to the beach or swimming pool during ramadhan. The price also cheaper because no demand during ramadhan. The drawback is most of the restaurant is close during the day

Be careful. Driving in Malaysia can be challenging.
1:18:13 it's signboard to warn drivers for wildlife including elephants. We don't really ride elephants as they're protected wildlife. The jungles are natural habitat for many types of wildlife such as elephants, tigers, cats, monkeys etc sometimes they may cross or be around the roadside.
Sometimes the buddist monk is not Malaysia people. Beware of them. Maybe scammer

No government tax.
Basically no import or export tax, no excise duty...so the goods there r cheaper...alcohol, cigarettes, chocolates and other goods sell cheaper there than at other places in Malaysia...we have4 duty free islands, Pangkor, Langkawi, Labuan and Tioman....The duty free areas such as Kenyir Lake, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Rantau Panjang and at most border crossings
