I also have Kenya friends who introduced me to Injera and I notice how African food shares some simillarity with nasi kandar like the spices used, I wish Malaysia one day have African food ( the injera I tried was in Australia when I was studying there aha) too! as besides Malaysian food we have western, middle east and other asian culture food cooked well here too!

the sour flavour comes from the broth which has tamarind slices boiled with the Mackeral Fish. The torchlight flower(Bunga Kantan) only provides the fragrant of the Laksa. The saltish fishy flavor comes from the Prawn paste. But this laksa is a Indian Muslim style which is almost the same as Kedah Laksa because it has sliced boiled egg on it. The original Penang Nyonya Asam Laksa does not have egg and lettuce but have alot of cliced raw onion in it. But then some people prefer this fusion way of it..

That shot @39:12 really confused me....I couldn't tell if the camera was shot at an weird angle, or if the whole background was crooked LOL! What got me was that Mark and the table looked pretty straight, but the inside of the building, the ceiling fan and the sign behind him looked like they kind of crooked. Also, gotta say I love when Mark goes to Malaysia, all the food looks SO amazing and delicious, and there's so much variety, with all kinds of dishes! I've always been a firm believer of that some of the best food/cuisines in the world, comes from countries with a ton of different influences because it creates such a vibrant and unique food because it takes bits of every other influence to create something new and amazing. Malaysia is definitely one of those countries, and is in my top 3 countries I want to visit!
As usual THANKS, I go Se Asia 5weeks a year, and we always try like 1-3things recommended by you Mark, favorite is still the Chang mai sausage by the highway. Keep it up for us foodies❤

Absolutely love Penang food. One of the best part about Malaysias multi culture diversity. But the amount of sauces on those burgers, can you even taste the patty after the sauces?
Malaysian here, the ramly burgers aren't healthy aha it's a rather cheap burger and some locals that likes sweet stuff likes lots of sauce as patty itself aint the juicy kind, I rather have real non pink beef patties western style burger though cost way more, but Ramly is one of the unique stuff found in Malaysia quite tasty but still a junk food here.
I love Penang. The food there (island and mainland) was so unique, heavily aimed at seafood. My plan is to return, not to play guitar concerts, but to visit restaurant after restaurant for an entire month, or two.
COVID is making everything taste gross so I'm here to see him enjoy that delicious food, living vicariously through him. Much respect to the street food vendors, those recipes must take so long to prepare and the creativity to try new things, amazing.

That shot @39:12 really confused me....I couldn't tell if the camera was shot at an weird angle, or if the whole background was crooked LOL! What got me was that Mark and the table looked pretty straight, but the inside of the building, the ceiling fan and the sign behind him looked like they kind of crooked.
Also, gotta say I love when Mark goes to Malaysia, all the food looks SO amazing and delicious, and there's so much variety, with all kinds of dishes! I've always been a firm believer of that some of the best food/cuisines in the world, comes from countries with a ton of different influences because it creates such a vibrant and unique food because it takes bits of every other influence to create something new and amazing. Malaysia is definitely one of those countries, and is in my top 3 countries I want to visit!
As usual THANKS, I go Se Asia 5weeks a year, and we always try like 1-3things recommended by you Mark, favorite is still the Chang mai sausage by the highway. Keep it up for us foodies❤

Absolutely love Penang food. One of the best part about Malaysias multi culture diversity. But the amount of sauces on those burgers, can you even taste the patty after the sauces?
Malaysian here, the ramly burgers aren't healthy aha it's a rather cheap burger and some locals that likes sweet stuff likes lots of sauce as patty itself aint the juicy kind, I rather have real non pink beef patties western style burger though cost way more, but Ramly is one of the unique stuff found in Malaysia quite tasty but still a junk food here.

I love Penang. The food there (island and mainland) was so unique, heavily aimed at seafood. My plan is to return, not to play guitar concerts, but to visit restaurant after restaurant for an entire month, or two.
COVID is making everything taste gross so I'm here to see him enjoy that delicious food, living vicariously through him. Much respect to the street food vendors, those recipes must take so long to prepare and the creativity to try new things, amazing.
