For me it was a company I like and trust. I really liked your interest with mechatronics and how it developed into a business. I'm late to the game and just backordered a blackbird in December fully aware it will be several months before delivery. It's hard to wait but these videos make it easier.
My local bike shop had one ebike and it was $9K! So I bought two 1200w ebikeling motor kits and a 20ah battery from amazon and made one myself from my old backup Key West. I love it! Cost me less than $1K too.
Hey man. I've always been curious as to how these Ebikeling motors perform. How was it? Ebikeling sounds cheap ass Chinese af but I keep hearing about them. Care to give your opinion onnthem? How has it held up?
@@splicecentral9079 I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They’ve held up very well and have amazing torque, especially considering I weigh 270 (lbs) and the bike is at about 90 with the 2 batteries. I have reached 38mph on a flat road.
Wanted an E bike and almost bought on line from China. While in Cocoa Beach we passed a bike shop that was advertising new Magnum bikes in stock. They had every model but the Peak and even had the big Cargo Bike too. Saw the Magnum Ranger in white and fell in love. What a superb bicycle with service after the sale and enjoy supporting the local economy. No regrets here as I rode the bike out that same day.
I started riding “again” a couple of years ago. Got a mountain bike and loved it but soon discovered at 66 you have your limitations. Started considering an ebike this year when I test rode a Pedigo. Researched and found your videos, researched some more and the saw your blackbird. Had to have one cause it has been my favorite plane for decades, and the bike seemed cool too. When I contacted you, Kyle, you laughed and said you had a waiting list, five deep for every blackbird you could get. I had looked at your web site and my second thought was a Raptor, which you said “might be available”: That was November. Ordered one that day. So, being flexible as your video today suggests, paid off, since I got mine this week after less than two months wait. I was in position to trade up and spend more, and can’t imagine everyone that has been waiting six months or more. All I can say is I’ve only been able to ride it about six miles, due to freezing rain and such, but my smile proves it will be worth it. Thanks Kyle for educating us and Happy New Year to every one and HAVE FUN in 21!
Thanks for using my comment in your video. I actually did buy a Lectric XP ST to ride while I am waiting for my BlackBird Nov Batch. Thanks for showing the bike in this video. So, So close....Hoping for Feb/
Thanks Kyle! Great video as always. My two coins here: make sure your business model lines up with competitors. What I mean by that, if all the eBikes sellers are walking through the same situation like yours, fine. But if competitors are able to delivery on time, that’s a red flag, perhaps orange if you will. I m not saying is really bad but something to keep eyes on to avoid losing potential customers down the road. As a comment aside, I m still extremely happy with my 1000w mid motor all terrain eBike. You can not imagine how it helped me with my hunting adventures in 2020. Getting into remote areas and carrying heavy gear wasn’t a problem. Even transporting my deer out of the woods. Thanks again and happy new year 2021!

Here are a few of things I learned after buying an E-bike. 1. 'Quick release' means just that, the front wheel and seat can be easily stolen in less than 5 seconds. Switch to locking skewers. 2. Make sure the battery wafer lock doesn't accept same type blank keys. 3.Plan to invest in the best locks and cables/chain and use them. Best to you all and a safe and happy new year.
Thanks for all the content and products! I bought 3 Rad Rover 5s (the Wife and Father-in-law ride with me), then ordered the full upgrade from you (minus the brakes). The motors and freewheels arrived, now just waiting for the controllers to ship! So stoked! You're the man!

I happened to build an ebike from a conversion kit, back during the first covid lockdowns, to keep me busy, I'm lucky to have built it when prices were low, and availability was high.

Great video. Here in northern Europe we have the same issues. It's actually a huge problem, Sourcing stuff like tires for your mtb or a cassette for your race bike, etc. everything's getting harder and harder to find. Also months long waiting times on most new bikes.
The service problem seems to be wildly underestimated. For example, on my ebike, they'll send you parts. Good luck finding someone to install them. Fine for me, but many folks are left swinging in the wind. And, if you want to ride again anytime soon, you're better off just buying the parts and fixing it yourself. That's why I bought the most generic bike I could find. I can get any part on amazon. And you won't really know about the warranty until you try to use it.
I think the Black Bird is a very hansom bike in the black finish. One big obstacle I have to ordering one is price, and wonder about financing available?
