Question: I have an Octagon Intex hot tub, and I have been using freshwater with chlorine and a little baking soda to make the alkalinity perfect.. but the ph is way low and the hardwater is extremely hard.. The manual suggest that I add salt to the hot tub.. I was worried that if I do I would have problems with corriosion.. What do you suggest? I was thinking of getting a water softner and something to bring the ph up.. Am I better off just using the 4.4 lbs of salt to allow the sanitizer work on the hot tub?? I am new to all this so I need suggestions.. This is a Intex tub with the bubbles and the jets...
