    Jacuzzi tubs are definitely susceptible to suction fittings getting clogged. I pop the heat return covers off all the time from being clogged. The Little rocks are usually the Little Rocks from roof tiles they go through the suction fittings and the pump and get stuck around the gate in the diverters and get them stuck. So much that if the roof is gray the little rocks are gray and if the roof is brown the little rocks are brown. Sometimes it’s not the customer’s roof and it’s the color of a neighbor’s roof near the tub lol

    Thanks dude. I purchased a hot tub (Balboa RS101) from a friend of mine over two years ago and finally got it set in place and the electrical run. I'm ready to clean it out, fill it up, and start "tubbin'"; and I'm glad I came across this video first. I'm sure the information you've provided will save me many headaches. Thanks again!

    My tub was running fine and needed a water change this spring. After emptying and refilling my ThermoSpa tub I got a OH code and the pump would not run. I was so relieved to hear this was a simple problem. I dread the thought of removing 3 dozen screws to open the cabinet. So I put the sump pump in the tub, garden hose attached and stuck the other end in the filters and then the jets. I got air bubbles out so I was feeling hopeful. It worked to blow out the air and the tub is running again. Thanks for your excellent video.

    Hi I have a balboa hot tub 501z model. Customer lets kids use hot tub all the so hot tub is always cloudy. I did recommend they replace cartridges since they bought home with hot tub. I also checked where filters go threaded only one of the holes has suction. The made jet pump as circulation pump since I tried to connect the one there and it trips the breakers so now I know why jet pump is used and circ pump is canceled. All the small toggles switches where in right position for the circ pump just so you know. But the main concern is why I only get suction from one hole only. Thank you

    I have a spa touch HT from Balboa that is only 2 years old. The heater has been replaced twice under warranty, and so has the ozonator. Is this typical wit most tubs? Is there a better ozonator that can be put in that will last more than a year or a few months?

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  Год назад

      Most of the time when I have to replace one or the other....495 time out of 500 it was caused by the home owners maintenance program. Both of those items are water related and it gets down to maintenance...
      1)ozone are you changing the inline check valve at the very least once a year? if not you are on borrowed time after a year.
      2) Most heaters last about 5 -7 years. MINE IS OVER 9 YEARS OLD. change water every 90 to 100 days take care of chemicals weekly...and this one is very important. Do not put in to much chemicals (Kept it Simple)
      I started keeping really good notes about 10 years ago (Sept 15 2012) and what I have found is almost every problem with a Hot Tub was caused by . 1) The person/company that moved it in and did the installation. 2) The person/company taking care of the weekly maintenance.is doing a poor job..
      I personally believe that manufactures do a really good job trying to make a good product at a fair price....Now some spas are better then others but at the end of the day it really get down to the Moving , Install , Maintenance. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    Strong spa, Antiqua model, the light button on the topside display keeps clicking thru the different colors, after unplugging the wiring to the main hub it still keeps clicking, could this be caused by moisture getting under the overlay?, and could this be causing the tub from heating up? • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  Год назад +2

      Yes...You should have two filters in the tub..Remove both...if you look at the filter inlet one of them has a screen on it ...that inlet leads to the cir pump... Now with the spa running stick you hand near the inlet ***(Note If YOU have good suction it will suck your hand in ..Get ready you will feel it )*** Now if it is just light suction like a trickle you have a flow issue/blockage someplace. in the system... At this point you need to check hoses and even heater tube for corrosion ...I.think this will be the topic go my next video...Hope this Helps & Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    Can I run my circ pump and heat while filling my hot tub (as long as the water is above the intakes)?I was thinking of heating the water as it’s filling. The problem would be that my tub wants to fire the 2 jet pumps which would spray the room down with water. Not good.
    If I unplugged the 2 jet pumps they wouldn’t fire up automatically but I’m scared to trip out the board.

    Its been a good spa, but Im battling the dreaded FLO code
    I have great water pressure, 2 pumps running smooth, the recirculating pump running good.
    I cycled the diverter several times, Opened bleeder valves on both pumps, Cracked open the unions,
    Replaced the clear flow directional switch. pulled the 2 filters and made sure they were clean,
    Pulled disconnect a few times to re boot the system.
    The water is getting a lil warm when I run the pumps but even the recirculating pump shuts off after a little wile.
    Still have the FLO code on the 6 button display. Got any hacks or other ideas ? I wanna get it fixed before it starts freezing up.
    Thanks for all your videos. You know your stuff. Oh I even took a water pump I have with a 2 inch discharge hose and tried pushing water threw the filter inlets to clear out any possible air. Im stumped. Hope you have a new idea..

      You will love it.. it a good quality product.as far as problems go as long as you keep chemicals up and change water every 90 tp 100 days (as with all spas ) problems are very minimal...Most problems I see are caused by the user. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

      @@spaman5440 Thanks again for your fast response and also for your very informative videos. We live in Canada and because this is a used tub (8491 L), and we don't know how old it is, we were just concerned about finding replacement parts should anything fail. We have heard that Jacuzzi uses only their own proprietary parts and would require only Jacuzzi parts for repair. We appreciate your expert opinion. Thanks so much.

      No several manufactures and everyone want to do it there way ..Cool part is you only have two choices .. Just do not force it.. You can break the seal between the Jet housing and the Tub.

    Hi Spa Man! I had a "Flo" error ( I don't recall any numbers with the Flo") on my Jacuzzi 350. I proceeded to lift the filters out and ran them but accidently failed to pull out the little scum sponge so it go sucked up in the filter hole and I heard the pump immediately sound different (strained) while running "pump 1" but of course Pump 2 is fine. The heater had stopped working when I originally go the "Flo" error but then the sponge got sucked up so I have an even bigger problem now. I need to get that sponge thing out and obviously clean the or replace the filters. HOW or rather, WHAT do I do to remove the sponge clog? Help quickly and thank you.

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  9 месяцев назад

      Most likely it is stuck in the impeller of the pump. So if you pull off the front panel and locate pump #1 and remove the front connection to the pump ...You might get lucky and it is right there if not get a good shop VAC with really good suction and suck it out... Ive had to do the a time or two (over 100 times)Sometimes Ive had to use two shop Vacs... one to suck and one to blow.
      ***Note*** Pro tip
      #1 Whatever is stuck must be wet if it is dry its very tough to get it out.
      #2 Take filters out of shop vac along with any dirt and crap or you will get dirt and debris in the tub when you blow it out (remove filter also)
      Hope this Helps Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    I've inherited a Sundance Peyton 680 been working fine for about 2 months. Sometimes pump 1 wouldn't come on but would eventually work and it would stayed heated and all
    Of that. Now it isn't working at all. I'm just hearing a clicking noise coming from the board when I press the button. Code FL1 is coming on. I've took the filter out and pulled the plugs on the pumps to make sure there wasn't air in the pump and it's not. Pump 2 works perfect. I backed the flow switch out just a little and you can hear the water runnin through for awhile and the heater kick on but then it would stop and the pump wouldn't kick on. Any ideas ?
    Unfortunately There are no dealers within 2 hours of me
