Great video! I started a podcast Straight Talk With Trevor on anchor in January. It was rough in the beginning, but I'm starting to find my groove. I use to do a solo show, but after a few months off I went to an interview format, and that's where I shine. I have the Movo XLR mics, but I do want a better mixer than the ones that came with it. I'm still tinkering with the editing tools within anchor because currently it's record and post. My show is one shot, bloopers and all. Lol
@Trevor AB Johnson thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. I will say that having those bloopers in there are good because they show your listeners that real and authentic element. Keep on moving forward my man. I hope that the info helped. I'm using the anchor app as well to edit the podcast and I have not had any issues. I would definitely recommend the Xoom P8 as a mixer when you really want to upgrade the quality and production value of your set up. I love mine !

I’m wanting to give credit where it is due, such as putting in my sources. How do I go about that? Do I just say my sources? Or is there a spot that I can type it in?
How can I get my guest voice played through the podcast equipment while I’m recording cause all my guest are in different states and on anchor you can send links to their phone so how would I get them on the podcast equipment versus on my phone ?
I would say use a service like riverside.fm or use a recorder that is synced to your phone so it records all of the audio. The Podtrak P4 is a great option @The Eric J The Great Podcast
A friend of mine and I are thinking about starting a podcast but we don’t really know what to talk about because our regular conversations are about a little of everything 😅. We tend to talk about music, then jump to Marvel universe, then cultural stuff, trips, relationships and so on that we dont really know what category or topic to choose 😩
@Rey Rey La Sinfo Thanks for watching and sharing your question. I would say think about what you would want to talk about for the long haul if it never leads to any money, traction or attention. Because when you first start out your not going to get that gratification of listeners on a large scale. That is something that grows over time. I would say pick the topic that you can see yourselves talking about for the long haul. You can always add in other things that interest you but pick a main focus for the podcast because it will give your listeners something to connect and relate with. For instance, you don’t want to talk about a topic that your not interested in on a episode and let’s say that episode gets a bunch of downloads and new listeners. That would put you in a weird position because you just gained listeners who are expecting a certain topic but you aren’t really passionate about that topic. I hope that makes sense. I understand … everyone doesn’t need an expensive mic. The most important thing is pressing record and getting started. We all are hesitant and unsure about our abilities when first starting. @Kenny S I think it is not an absolute requirement. You can get by just recording on a computer or your phone. However, in regards to podcasting audio quality is the most important factor because people usually can deal with sub-par video quality but when it comes to audio people are less forgiving. I would say having a quality recorder for the podcast like the Zoom Podtrak P4 is great for anyone starting out as it is going to give you great quality audio and it is portable which gives you additional flexibility. Additionally, just a recorder will be fine. Alot of recorders and mixers can be used to do both. For instance, the P4, P8, and Rodecaster Pro are all audio recorders and mixers. I hope that information is helpful.

Not sure about the rodecaster but in the soundpad settings on the P8, you can program additional banks

The problem with the sm7b you need a cloud lifter to get proper gain.cost another $150
That is a sound point. I went with the Shure MV7 & I’m using it with a Zoom Podtrak P8 & it has worked out great.
