POP Pilates: Pick-Me-Up Quickie Workout!

    The first day I did this (beginners calendar day 5) before the video, I was revved up and ready to go, and by the end, I did a poor job of finishing the video. I did maybe 4 minutes worth, and I felt extremely discouraged. I had no idea why Cassey had named this video a pick me up quickie workout, because I hadn't felt picked up or quick. Fast forward to today, (beginners workout calendar day 19) where I successfully completed the video and I truly feel happier and healthier. For anyone needing motivation, just know that you can do it, and when you do, the pride you will feel will be astounding!

    On day 5 of the beginner's calendar I couldn't do the boat teasers at all! Now at day 26 I was going faster than Cassey in the video! Love how much stronger I am in less than 1 month! :)

    Day 19 of the Beginner's Calendar and I can now do the doggy cobra, the boat teaser, and almost the arm lift things properly with ease! Feeling so much better about myself and my level of fitness!

      hello past me! it is future you! i can now do this video quite easily without missing any reps. i'm able to easily keep up with cassey and guess what? we can do the 'arm things' easily! x
      p.s. we're on day 8 of the #febYOUary calendar :)

    After starting POP Pilates and Blogilates 3 weeks ago I began to notice a change in the way my body looks and the way I feel about myself. You inspire and motivate me to work hard and finish the workouts. I've lost 6 pounds so far and I can see my muffin top getting smoother. I'm so happy I found Blogilates :)

    This has been my favorite video on the blogilates calendar so far! The environment in my life has been spiraling downwards as problems out of my hands keep surfacing. But I still try to find happiness in the day-to-day & this video reminded me to do just that. Plus, the moves made me feel awesome! Thank you, Cassy

    Give Away Answer: Pilates is my favorite move because-- for the first time in my life I feel like I am in sync with my body. I run cycle, swim but never have I ever felt so in-tuned with myself. I feel in control of my progress, Happy and proud of myself, and best of all I am learning the strength and finally seeing the beauty in which I am capable.
    Thank Cassey for all that you do! Your videos have changed my life.

    I just want to say that this is one of my favorite videos of yours ever. It has one of the most positive, uplifting messages I've heard. Every single time I do this workout, I feel so much more optimistic. I love the sequence of exercises, as well, but what always sticks with me is the sentiments expressed within. Thank you so very much for all that you do for your Popsters and the world, but thank you most of all for your positive energy and thoughtfulness.

    I NEVER thought I would ever be happy with my body, until I started doing the Blogilates videos! I danced for some time, but always struggled with my weight despite my level of activity. I didn't realize until recently that to change the way you look on the outside you have to change the way you think and feel on the inside. Even though my body is still challenging at times, and even though I know it might take quote a while to get where I want to be physically, without pilates (and especially Casey's videos), I would not be as happy as I am today. Working out isn't just about looking good, it is about feeling good, and pilates has done that and so so so much more for me! As a dear friend of mine always says, just keep smiling :)

    Cassey, you are the definition of "contagiously happy!" Your personality is so fun and uplifting and genuine. I love doing your workouts every day. They always put me in a better mood (even when I cry with pain.) Plus they have given me a rockin body too!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it's allowed me to be who I never thought I could be and move in ways I never thought I would ever be able to. I've been overweight my entire life and began accepting that I could never be strong, fit, or physically beautiful. Thanks to Pilates and you Cassey, all of that has changed :) This is why Pilates is my favorite way to me. It challenges me both physically and mentally and helps me grow into the person I want to be every day :)

    I ACTUALLY DID THE BOAT TEASERS! AAAHHH! THIS IS SO EXCITING!

    Did anyone else feel that titanic amount of back fat when we did those caressing triceps? I've never seen so many ROLLS before! My self-esteem is going down... i'm yelling TIMBER!

    Pilates is my fav way to move because you can feel everything working and you know you will see a difference. Everyone in Pilates always makes the moves sound fun and with you Cassey you really help us push through with all your smiling!!

    I love the way pilates makes me feel because I feel empowered. I feel so strong and confident. I feel as though I can tackle the day. It also gives me strength, both physical and mental, because I can tell myself "5 more" and push myself to be better. Pilates not only helps me in my body, but also in my mind. It is a total, over all workout! I love it!!!

    I have been working out for over 10 years and I just started doing Pilattes with Cassey at the end of last year. I feel amazing after it, there is no other way to describe it. As obsessed as I am with sweating and feeling pain, Cassey brings just that and I keep coming back for more.

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because of it's requirement of having the will power and the determination to get through the workouts. Pilates keeps your body constantly working, along with your mind. Getting through these Pilates workouts not only strengthens and improves your body, but also refreshes your mind and your mood! I love Pilates!

    Pilates is my fave way to move, because you don't need equipment, just yourself. There's not an excuse of "oh I don't have weights" or "I don't want to drive to a gym today",it's just you and your body. When using just your body I feel that the results you get are the results your body should have. I love it so much because it's well rounded, including cardio, stretching, strength training, and being a sister to yoga helps too. Pilates isn't the only way I move, but it's definitely number 1.

    Pilates is my favorite cause with my mom's leg amputation and her divorce with my dad; there's a lot going on. I am the oldest of four, and it's my senior year, so it's definitely the most beneficial way to keep my figure and stress down. I can't express to you enough of my gratitude---you're a great person. Can't get enough of your videos.

    Day 5 I couldn't do them at all. A week later and I can almost get through them (still falter on the last two or three). Progress!

    There is no other exercise in the world that can compare to pilates. Not only do I feel fabulous while working out, but pilates inspires me to love my body more and more every day. Pilates is the only exercise that continually motivates me to better myself not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I look forward to my workouts every day and I go out into the world with more energy and confidence than I've ever experienced before. That's why pilates is my favorite way to move!

    Pilates has a special place in my heart because it was really the first form of exercise I ever did back when I was 14 in high school. It's my favorite way to move because it's challenging and empowering. When you start out it's so hard and you think you'll never be able to do a full set of this or that exercise but after a while you finally develop the strength to get through it and it feels so amazing. You get so strong and the only tools you need are your body and some determination.

    Pilates is my fave way to move because of several reasons 1) It helps my depression and mood problems I have from having hypothyroidism 2) I feel strong and empowered and it makes my whole day better 3) I can actually see results a lot faster than from strength or circuit training! 4) You! The instructor makes or breaks the video, and you make it! your positive and you say positive things while we are burning like fire, like we can do this ! Thank you for doing these awesome videos!

    My friend's dad passed away yesterday and all day has felt so heavy and depressing because I keep imagining what she might be going through. (I'm super-empathic like that.) This was the perfect workout with the perfect timing, THANK YOU for reminding me to smile, Cassey! This pick-me-up-lift-me-up workout was exactly what I needed. Pilates always leaves me feeling stronger and happier, that's why it's my fave way to move! Failing a new move makes me laugh, accomplishing old moves does the same.

    whenever I lay on my side and put most of the weight around the hip area, it hurts kinda bad right around my hip upper thigh area, but only on the side. It's kind of an outside pain and it's only when I put a lot of weight on the area. Does anyone know what my problem is?

      do the exercise before you eat or drink any thing excluding water in the morning because you will be burning your fat stores not the food you have just eaten

    Pilates has been my favorite way to move since I was in 8th grade (has it already been close to 11 years since then?!). I was never the best at sports and always picked last when we had to choose teams. My grandmother gave me my first Windsor Pilates video and told me that if she could do it, I could to. It's been hard, but ever since then I can do things that I couldn't do then. I do it not only to strengthen and tone my body, but also to strengthen & energize my soul too. Thanks Grandma!

    So far from where I was a month ago! Almost 15 pounds down after eating right and doing blogilates. This program has changed me for good. Not every day is good and I accept that I can't always make it work, but Cassey has set me such a great example for positivity and hope. I won't look back

      I totally did seem harder... but I took my time and it went well. the boat teaser was a major struggle for me though

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it is graceful, yet you have to be tough! ANd it's a great, fun way to get and stay in shape without being allowed to slack (like other forms of exercise)!!! Pilates has changed my life and continues to change it everyday... it makes me a happy, confident, and stong girl!!!!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it forces me to take control of my body. Pilates forces me to make the movements of each workout with poise and control and my body rewards me with a whole new look. I've seriously never been this healthy in my life and it's only the beginning! I am never giving up Pilates

      Don't be intimidated... Cassy always goes super fast and speeds through it like a breeze! Just go at your own pace :) I've bee. Following her for a year now and still am not able to keep up with her every single move

    I used to hate working out till I discovered pilates and also discovered Cassey. It makes me feel better about myself and I've learned that if you think positively and smile like Cassey does it helps you get through it. I also love pilates because it helps me feel motivated, I actually look forward to my daily pilates and feel more encouraged to loose weight. My most favorite part about it is how it reminds me so much of yoga, I hate doing just yoga by its self but with pilates its amazing!

    I love pilates because it allows you to use your own body as an instrument to get stronger. You don't need equipment, all you need is your body and a willingness to succeed. It can be customized for any fitness level, and it really is for everybody. All in all, pilates makes me feel BEAUTIFUL and STRONG and I always look forward to doing it.

    Honestly, it's nonsense for this video to be in the beginners calendar. I get the feeling Cassey doesn't really know what it's like to be a beginner anymore :/ Both the doggie/cobra and the boat teaser are incredibly difficult moves and hurt your back if you aren't strong enough yet. You could injure yourself with these! I skipped the boat teaser almost entirely as I noticed my back hurting straight away... Not gonna do my back in for this!

      +Marinda Mensch I think the problem here is the fact that it's so quick. As a begginer I feel like I need time to perform all the excercises correctly. Otherwise I'm just hurting myself and I'm upset that I can't keep up with her. I'm not saying everything has to be super easy but I don't think I did anything right in this workout...
      I needed to take a break from the begginers calendar because I was going on a vacation and now when I want to start over from where I finished (because I'm not one of those people who skip the days they missed...) this makes me feel useless...

    I used to be a competitive swimmer since grade school till college. but when i reached junior and senior yr in college and started to work, i had a hard time finding time to exercise. i can't have time to go to pools and do some laps. but when i started doing pop pilates, i can do it when got home from work and it's so much fun than yoga. i really like the way you encouraged viewers to do what they can. thanks a lot Cassey!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it has helped me to see that I am important-- my health and my body are important. After a Pilates session, I always feel so vibrant and energized. It has shaped my life and it is shaping my body. I love love love Pilates!

    Pilots is my favorite method to stretch, work out, relax, and breath. Its great to do with friends, family or by yourself, it leaves you with a great sense of mind and well being. The feeling after completing a pilates work out leaves me feeling motivated to stay active, fit, healthy and to nourish my body. It ileaves me feeling so energized for my day ahead ! Thanks Casey xx

    You CAN choose to be happy, but watching your Pilates videos sure helps. I love Pilates because it helps me to feel strong and beautiful. Plus it helps that it doesn't take too much planning or time to get a good work out in. It doesn't need to be sunny or warm outside all I need is a little space in my living room and your amazing videos. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making these. They are very much appreciated.

      I heard that it's zumba, so I'm going to repeat the dance routine from yesterday 2 times or so :) you could basically just do any time of cardio though I think :)

    Pilates is my favorite move because during and after every workout I feel like I've accomplished something and actually am making progress with my workouts! I love that during the workouts you have to be determined to keep going and push through every move no matter how much they may hurt! I love feeling the burn of a good workout and knowing that I'm doing it all for myself!!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because at the end of each workout with Cassey, I am left feeling inspired, strong, healthy... and most importantly, happy. Cassey's happiness is contagious, and her love for fitness is evident. Pilates makes me feel strong because it is not an exhausting workout, but I can tell that each muscle group has been targeted. I love the feeling that pilates gives me; I am a strong, beautiful and graceful woman!

    HI so i have been doing the august calendar for about 3 days now and i find it very good. But it hasnt really shown any results. I know 3 days is very little and obviously i wont lose like 6 pounds. but my patience is very low. so i was wondering is anyone that is doing this on some kind of meal plan or diet. When do the results usually show? Is there a specific time you do this exercises? Do u do the videos continuously? What time do you do them?
    Sorry for so much questions, but i want to do my very best so I can get some results by the end of the month ;)

    doing pilates is my favorite way to move because it's my ultimate way to stay motivated towards being fit and healthy. even when i lose the motivation, like i did terribly this winter, once i hit the mat with some pilates it's like i continuously look for opportunities to stay active and eat clean, healthy foods that make me feel better about myself.

    Pilates is my favourite move because it frees me. There's something amazing about it. I have such a stressful day, every day and I look forward to coming home and just setting my mind free doing Pilates. It's like my anti depressant. I always feel so good while I'm working out and after, I feel I've truly accomplished something. My friends ask me why I do it so much and I just say 'it's hard to explain, you just have to do it and you'll know why' the feeling it gives me is indescribable.

      truly, there is no neurotypical. everyones chemistry is completely unique. each person will have the experience that they have no control over their feelings at some point or another. it takes the choice of practice and self-love to feel more balanced. and even then, imbalance happens anyway. so what she means is, choose happiness with what is, or choose unhappiness at what is.

    Love the positive talk! It always makes me smile during workouts. The idea that exercise has to be a grueling, terrible thing is so wrong, and I'm glad to have videos like these to show the fun side of exercise.

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it increases awareness, both inside and out. I'm more aware of my own alignment, body shape, and physical strength (external) and also my mental strength, perseverance, and overall "grit". A total body workout, inside and out = pilates. Just wanted to say love your blog, keep doing what you do!

    I only found this video yesterday but it's inspired me to take up pilates as a great way to move. I feel great after doing this and it feels great when I have felt like I need to give up and then find I have more strength than I thought and can push that bit further! Pilates - do it anywhere, strengthen everywhere!

    Pilates is my favorite move because it clears my mind from the stress of my day; it also doesn't require me to leave my house as I always have to help around the house with chores! It's amazing how happy you get after working out, specially Pilates because it requires focus and determination to get through the workout and relax, joining the benefits to the pleasure! And it gives an amazing lean look enough for to comment how fit I am!

    Pop Pilates is one of my favorite ways to move! Cassey has great energy and the clips are short, so you can mix and match for your own custom workout. It is always a challenge and makes me feel great about my body! Thanks!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because it makes me feel balanced, empowered and inspired. Blogilates is a GEM and I'm so thankful to have found the videos!     when i am sick i come back to this beginner's video. have not been able to do any workouts for a week now (concussion), but did this one today to slowly start back into it and am so happy i was able to do it! now let's see if the symptoms get worse in the next hour.. i hope not.

    Pilates is definitely my favorite way to work out! I can work out any time, any where I want. The best thing is that I don't have to not be able to work out due to the bad weather. When a storm hits where I live (like it did this tuesday), I can still workout in the living room and feel a whole lot happier after sweating so much! It keeps my endorphin levels up day by day.     (Part 1) Pilates is my favorite way to move because it gives me a fun and healthy outlet to push myself to new capacities of fitness and self-beleif. I love how pilates combines strengthening, endurance, and flexibility. I always feel like I am doing something fun while doing something that is great for my health.

    I love pilates because it truly is a multi-faceted workout. It lengthens, functionally strengthens, and balances in a way that makes your body healthy both superficially and internally. The breathing patterns bring about a sense of relaxation and focus; a way to let go of the stress of your day and energize you for what is to come!

    Pilates is amazing. You can do it anywhere, and it's for exercisers at every experience level. No one has an excuse not to exercise when it comes to Pilates. It really works all of your muscles, and makes your body feel strong and toned.

    I began looking for videos that had a workout that I would love doing and help me stay motivated and work at toning my body. I then found your videos, Pilates works my whole body and I never get tired of doing the moves. I have a bad habit of slouching and with Pilates core workouts I have better posture and feel more confident . It has motivated me to keep going through the day, be it a quick work out or a long one, I am always refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

    Cassey I love what you said about how you get to choose your feelings! I always think it's important to try to remain aware of that and to not get upset over little things and stay optimistic. But there are some hards days when you wonder if it's really true, so it's so nice to hear you say it!

    Pilates is my favorite way to move because with other exercises I get bored, but with yours their is new moves everytime. And my favorite part about pilates is the pain.
    Especially the feeling after your done with a workout. I feel so happy and more confident when I'm done. At that point I don't let anyone bring me down.
    And also the main reason why I love pilates is because of you Cassey. You're just so bubbly and understanding. I just simply adore you and love you
