Here is our response to Lupe's Super Facts video addressing a comment Myke made when he referred to his favorite artists as "my artists."
He also mentioned that we tend to discuss the artists more than the music sometimes and that the two should remain separate. We give our thoughts on Lupe's Instagram video and respond to his critique of our review style.

Feefos beard ain’t cohesive
LMAO
It's a developing story
I'd appreciate if you seperated Feefo's beard from his opinion. k thanks.
I spit out my water bro

Only thing I don't agree with is that only young people feel entitled. I think that's a general American problem coming from all ages, not just young people.
I've worked in customer service long enough to feel comfortable making that statement. Lol
@@edizzle1791 working in customer services makes you realize they're a lot of assholes
Yeah, customer service shows you there's entitled elders who just don't give a fuck cuz they already lived their life.
Not Americans more like first world kids
Myke is right. Hip-Hop is the only music genre that I can't separate the rapper from the music. Now some people do because it's "entertainment". But, people like me who love the Hip-Hop as a whole, I look it as edutainment and stories from personal perceptive.
i pretty much agree but i think its actually like that with every kind of genre... sadly most people are just satisfied with being entertained by idiots that dont even care about their music and arent authentic at all.
hiphophead555 Agreed. Same here
GoodToGo Total agree. I, also, like that with Jazz and Blues.
+hiphophead555 Why Papoose?
I miss the time when record companies and A&R's didn't pretend like they knew what the streets wanted and artist had more room to be expressive and creative. Damn I'm old, I said Record companies and A&R's! Not being able to separate the rapper from the music is by design. Type A rapper is the actor who plays a street role for the public. Pretty harmless except for impressionable minds. Type B is the wannabe rapper who believes the life has to match to shoot em up and always high music. Type B rappers usually find themselves getting killed, dying of overdoses, or killing someone over alleged beef that didn't have to exist. Type C rapper understands the concept of needing to portray an image but carefully chooses image to portray. Type C rapper just want's to make music and buy Mom and Dad that house.
Feefo's beard struggling like hell
His eyebrows look dirty for some reason.
Don’t disrespect him dog. He took parts of his eyebrows off and glued them to his cheeks, obviously

Some of these commenters need to give Lupe his proper respect, he made 2 classics and a masterpiece.
he will never get the credit he deserves sadly, but I agree with you, I’d say that F&L the leaked version is a classic if you count it because it had like 8 songs not on the retail

I'm proud of y'all not because the shout out but how far y'all came I've been there since the beginning
Worlds collided which is dope, but too bad it was over a misunderstanding.
Feefos beard is childish
Mykes eyebrows have gone full xxxtentacion
So we agree Lupe was right here....but he misconstrued the comment made..... Yet his point still was right regardless
kevin richardson exactly he wasn’t throwing shots at dead end just the comment that was regardless if it was intentional or not promoted him to speak on the issue
But it wasn't really for us... This video was more of a message to Lupe than us..
Yeah, all of these top comments are just attacking Lupe.
But it's not right, because he jumped the gun without actually listening to the message. That's the point. If you're right about responding to a slight portion of a sentence or thought, that overall doesn't make you correct because you didn't listen to what the actual thought was. Trying to defend stages of what you say is the epitome of backing down and not knowing to admit when you're wrong. Being humble allows you to have perspective of when you're wrong.
kevin richardson yea u right I’m sure if they were in the same room it wouldn’t be a disagreement
Bro I totally gave Feefo cred for the "bump in the whip" category. Lol.
"Ownership" of an artist usually happens to new artist who start with a small following. And *stans* feel that their loyalty they had with the artist since they were underground all the way to music stardom, is what they perceive as ownership. Like when you find someone who's super good and you wanna put all of your friends on to this new rapper.
No one goes as far to think the artist owes them respect for supporting them since the beginning, but many artists or entertainers, constantly say "thank you to my fans, who supported me thru the highs and the lows, etc..." so it's not crazy to think some people might think THEY are a very important part of the artist success.
And with the rate off new artists emerging, the easiness to spread the word for a new artist you like thru social media, and the easiness it is to go viral, I think this mentality of "ownership" may increase to people who don't truly respect the artist, but only their work.
10,000 Subscribers without Videos good insight
No some people do actually believe they OWN people in the arts. Musicians and Actors alike . Not the art or the experiences but the actual people themselves.
Feefo how much do i have to pay you everytime i say this bumps in the whip
Maybe it's just me, but this whole thing with Lupe seems like a fiasco.

Yall dont remember them early lupe videos from years back? From Lasers to his interview with bill o'reilly. I remember C-Town specifically saying Lupe wanted to be a fake Chuck D. The Food and Liquor 2 review had multiple shots as well. Not calling anybody out and I love this channel but Lupe's character was questioned more than few times
Alijah Jameal 💯💯
Lupe was butthurt from years ago

Emmanuel Mondesir no it doesnt. that's a myth
Emmanuel Mondesir no that's a myth i had feefos "beard" too until I waited a couple months and now i got a beard. Anecdotal aside just look it up it's a largely debunked myth.
I do remember when LASERs dropped and a female from your channel called Lupe a sellout for growing his hair. I remember thinking "since when is a black man growing an afro considered selling out? Lol"
Funny thing is he grew his hair cuz he just never had long hair and wanted to try it out. Saw it from sway's in the morning interview he did for tetsuo and youth
Lupe and myke finna settle this beef cowboy style and duel each other using their pistols at sunrise
FLOWER PUNK Lupe pulling up with a sword
Y'all being disingenuous. When y'all reviewed Lasers/ Friend of the People? The discussion got rather personal.
Modest Media took it beyond music. Mike C-Town is / was legendary for his Lupe rants. Had some female in a car calling him "sell outs" over production choices.
Dead End Hip Hop when reviewing lyricist. Y'all sorta put em in a box. Critiques are more heavy handed.
Joe Budden "All Love Lost" for example. Feefo said I quote, "Joe sounds good" but I don't want him in this lane. Like why does all of that matter, if the music sounded good?
This is some of what Lupe is speaking on
Tj C.H.I They were right tho. Lupe is full of shit and he's salty when peolpe don't like his trash music.
Tawanda Batana nah, Lupe was speaking some real shit. Lu's video was over 40 minutes long. Dead End ONLY addressed one part which is the beginning of "Super Facts"!!
I get there're music critics who's passionate. But here FOOD 4 Thought, I subscribed too this channel because C-Town went in on Lupe harshly.
It's funny cause I'm like okay "these dudes sound like fools" from da barber shop. But too ACT as they totally innocent? Can't fuck w/ that.

Y'all can't really say only young people feel entitled when old heads stay naggin Kanye for changing his style. Saying I want the old Kanye. It's the same thing, But I understand the point. It's wrong either way. An artist doesn't work like fast food. Artist make music when they feel like it, how they feel like it. Whether you like it or not is mutually exclusive.
Kellen Sheppard exactly ... the generalizations are getting annoying at this point because it's like lets make everything " oh it's the young people"... if you really believe that only young people are entitled then you really need to get out more
I sometimes feel like they believe the youth thinks that mufuckas like Yachty, Lil Pump, n Uzi r on the level or better than Cole, Kendrick, n Joey. Some dumbass kids might but others just value their turn-up sessions with music more than their "get woke" sessions with music. If it got a 808 and ticking hi hats its shitting on everybody no matter the talent level in their head cz of preference
This is a fact
THANK YOU!!
Complaining about a style change isn't entitlement though. Entitlement is literally: feeling that you are owed something without having put any work into why you think you deserve something.
Wanting someone to not have changed a style isn't entitlement, it's disagreeing with the change they've taken. It has nothing to do with a generation gap and everything to do with the natural human trait of liking things to remain the same.
Lupe hella inconsistent but i still love him
I'm currently on a DEHH marathon, this is a goldmine of quality content.
I dont think he was really harping on DEHH with his views on the critics, I really just think he was talking about music media at large.
c dean he mentioned them by name tho. so even if he isn’t explicitly saying they do that, i dont remember him saying he wasnt talking about them.
I thought it was pretty dope that Lupe sparked this conversation with y'all. Hopefully, this was all a Jedi Mind Trick since you guys are a great platform to influence the hip hop community. Peace!
Hopefully, you guys get a chance to interview Lupe to set things straight! Keep up the great work fam!
Get Lupe on the show, man. Like Everyday Struggle, but more mature.
He said he doesn’t get into the “critic stuff” and then explained why... that wasn’t directed at you guys that was addressed to critics in general.
Well said DEHH, Lupe should've watched the whole video before trying to call anyone out. As for some of y'all in the comments though, y'all are saying Lupe was in his feelings but I see people in here saying he sucks and he's a bitch, clearly you're in your feelings as well. Keep it civil and hear each other out, and it'll all be good.
The way Lupe names his albums tells you how he personally feels about it.
The full titles of all of them are:
Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor
Lupe Fiasco's The Cool
Lasers
Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap album part 1
Lupe Fiasco's Tetsuo and Youth
Drogas Light
Drogas Wave by Lupe Fiasco
The 2 albums that people especially don't like are the ones that had the most record label interference and are also the 2 he didn't put his name on.
Supporting an artist seriously, is a form of investment. No we dont own them but if 1000 ppl saying your music is lacking they can't ALL be lying. . .
"......artists give they blood sweat and tears"
I couldn't help but INSTANTLY roll my eyes right away at this. One of the biggest reasons I left music school was that mentality of artists as a class of people SOOOOO separate from the rest of society. I can't deal with other musicians. I'm gonna hear Lupe out but I just get a gut-reaction when artists start in on that "omg we give you the world and you don't appreciate us because you'll never understand or be one of us" type of rhetoric. Fuck no
I been saying "bumps in the whip" since wayyyy before dehh..that shits a common saying b
8:56, kind of ironic when Myke admits to not having watched Lupe's whole video when he was the one complaining about something Lupe would have understood if he had watched the whole DEHH video haha xD
That was a joke. Look at his face at the end.
Mikhail Pozin I️ think he was just joking bruh
It didn’t seem like a joke at all...
LOL Did that joke go over your head? It's obvious it was a joke. Nobody laughed after it b/c the clip cut. How are y'all this slow?
Daniel Hill after he made that face, it cut pretty fast, so of course nobody laughed. It was funny because the irony of it, and the fact that he made a certain face, after he said "I didn't watch the whole video," which made it funny.
Ken’s face at 13:06 cracks me up every time 😂😂😂😂😂
lmao you guys go off on tangents all the time! and straight roast artists. It's funny how you guys are like nah we don't do that... that much. lol It's like if Kanye said nah I dont go on rants at my shows well not really. hilarious episode
Crosby Cruz lol I agree. I'm not shying away from that at all because that's part of what makes us authentic. At the end of the day, we're real life hip hop fans discussing music with each other. We talk about this culture in general, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Crosby Cruz 😂😂
Myke is Lupe’s long lost brother
Honestly I’ve never heard that they’re people who buy artists’ music and think they have an ownership of their music. That’s crazy that people think tat way
And if you watched the whole IG story, you'd know he said he's just fucking around before he goes on stage. He might be serious but he probably wasn't articulate. And Lupe wasn't attacking this channel, he was speaking in general.
Lupe gonna make another video responding to this response about his earlier response
So when we getting the Mc Floorwax review?
Lupe was speaking on entitlement not ownership
And yall gotta bring that hoodie back out
you guys are amazing. you deserve
The lighting is so good in this episode
Something to add to the conversation... I have a friend who never gave Lupe a chance after finding out he didn't skate. Something totally unrelated to the music made the music lose it's value in his mind.
To me that's what make Lupe great though... he is just a guy from Chicago but through his intellect is able to put him self in so many different peoples shoes and create compelling music that gives you insight into different worlds.
Nobodies perfect. All things can be reflected and understood regarding this situation. This benefits the culture regardless. Lupe could've came at anybody hell not even this channel anybody but he reflected his feelings to dehh. And thats gotta mean something. I feel Lupe reaches for higher understanding in all situations n dgaf what the surface is cs in all honesty everything he does he feels is part of him his art cs he dnt need fans to govern what he is looking for or need or tell him how to be n his universe. Dehh isnt perfect but it is hip hop culture n it does reflect the days bein wit da homies n reflecting on same convos jokes or not...misunderstandings or not...its bigger than the title of this video n i think it was meant for just what it caused which is another real dehh conversation rather if its what lupe liked or not n if lupe wants to understand it he will but dont guarantee a response n dnt feel bad if he doesnt. This is just another blessing dehh needed to grow bc it shows that if artist care they watch...n all artist who have fucked with yall are "hip hop" lets be real they are watching n i dnt believe for a second lupe thinks dehh is bad for culture nor hip hop illiterate. Not everybody can do what you guys do for the culture n yall didnt have to. Keep ya head up Myke u didnt take an L u took a win for something bigger than disappointment or critique. Cant say i know how it feels but I do know Mya hmu after i told her i was a die hard fan n that lets me know when i spoke into the universe "im going to reach people" i knew the universe was going to respond. #lawsofattraction N it may not be the response we want but it was a response needed in this season....not just for myke but for dehh. This is hip hop. You guys want these convos. #takeem
He was talking about critics in general and not just DEHH.
Lupe doesn't respect DEHH, he definitely downplayed the whole channel.
Jordan Clemons its trash
minnie cee hell no
/s
Jordan Clemons cause Lupe is a legend
I don't blame him. I don't take critics serious when they can't make music themselves
This conversation is important. It's ironic though how neither Lupe nor Myke took on the responsibility to watch the full videos beforehand. 😂😂
Myke always got some shit to say about "kids these days". Like how many you actually know anyway??
this is a perfect example of clarity in presentation ... sometimes you, as an individual, you may have to ensure that what you put out (what you say) should be thought thru ...
bcuz this obvious misunderstanding, leaves the opening for people to be offended ...
u have to be responsible for what you say ...
tranquility ✌

Thread over.
Lupe don't want smoke with MC DingleBalls 🔫💣
I hope there is some follow up dialog between Lupe and DEHH
I feel really bad for Myke. It was not his intention at all to make that statement. Considering the whole show revolves around unscripted dialogue, a small mistake like forgetting to say 'favourite' in between 'my' and 'artist' once at the beginning on the video seems like a reasonable mistake. He shouldn't have been attacked for something like that. I've been watching DEHH for YEARS and I know for sure that Myke and Lupe completely share the same opinion regarding this topic. It's quite unfortunate man.. I kinda wished Lupe watched the entire video. He would've understood and I think he'd have a lot of respect for the DEHH crew and especially Myke.
Thank you, bro. I appreciate it.
Thought I would revisit this one. As artists, we have the need/mandate to create. Our creations come from places where most people dare not venture. It's a navigation in murky waters in which every attempt takes a unique route.
Some will say critiquing draws refined attention to projects whilst an artist may view it differently. The creation of a body of work that is revered and puts the artist on a pedestal of critics/fans is precarious. We often feel pigeonholed, and it becomes a difficult thing to escape the formula for success. "I 'm an artist, and I'm sensitive about my shit!"
Context may be misconstrued, but art is subjectively consumed. The internet has made it a popularity contest via grouped opinions. It's great to be noticed, yet there is freedom in flying under the radar. Expression becomes less audible once all eyes are on the creative mind. We don't want separation from our craft. When you say "my favourite" artist ought to... You imply that I am now in the vice of your nostalgia because of a good time in your reference to experiencing my work. #scarecrowzw
You guys are over thinking this. Lupe essentially shout you guys out, then used a piece of your vid to speak on the larger point that you touch on here - fans claiming ownership of artists.
And yeah, y'all are critics. Full stop.
Man I haven't taken Lupe seriously in years. Y'all keep doing what y'all doing. It's obviously working if you get famous people reacting.
Travis Faine Lupe is being bitchy these days.
.....
Travis Faine bar for bar Lupe still got it
Tetsuo & Youth was dope. But Lupe tripping these days.
What are you talking about? He just misunderstood the video, the rest ge said is all truth, like myke said.
I totally get Lupe's frustration even though it was definitely directed at the wrong person..Sometimes fans can get a little biased on what they want to hear from a certain artists and that can make an artist feel like you may feel that you own them. For an example, when Future went through his Turn On the Lights phase a lot of his core fans had a problem with it because that's not what they wanted from Future but an artists has the right to make the music that reflects where they are emotionally at the time..just because you enjoy the dark stuff does not mean the artist is suppose to be in a constant state of darkness..Therefore in that aspect fans can be kind of controlling instead of digesting the artist in every phase and enjoying the journey
Yall some legends
If people dont watch the DEHH videos fully then you miss out the point of DEHH as a whole. And I think the moment when Kendrick mentioned DEHH about the fellas getting the clue of the original title of To Pimp A Butterfly is one of those moments what DEHH is all about. The music and the knowledge that these guys put out on reviews and to share with other fans. I think artists who DEHH are doing a review on should appreciate DEHH for building this community so they can get to hear reactions of critics from their fan base thats not coming out their pockets but out of their deepest thoughts
Ales Patty Matenahoru right, we take the approach from a hip hop fans perspective added with a thought out critique and breakdown of the music.
Two things
1. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first time Lupe has subbed y’all, he’s spoken directly to assertions y’all made about his career and artistry ( granted most of this is old)
2. As critics (even begrudgingly so) it is y’all job to convey a clear point at all times it was a choice for that section to be used at the beginning of the video if that’s what is used as a preview you can’t be surprised or expect people to not draw conclusions based on just that (it’s just like clickbait not as egregious but still clickbait).
Very late but I have to strongly disagree with your 2nd point. I get that it was used as a preview and it contained a point that, out of context, was a highly contentious issue for Lupe, but he shouldnt be drawing conclusions just because he feels very strongly about this point. He doesn’t understand that this preview isn’t highlighting that issue but instead highlighting a different point that discussed in the video. But either way I dont think dehh are expecting Lupe to not draw conclusions because they know that he didnt watch the entire video because if he did, he would be smart enough to understand the wider context of the situation. Him not watching the entire video is the problem that dehh have, not him drawing conclusions
Lu's Mixtapes and Singles are very underrated. Some of his throwaways around the time of Lasers would have made Lasers a great album.
“Lot of times we just talking bout-“
(Myke growls/sighs)
“-okay you doin it again what you disagree”
😂😂
Hey guys. I just wanted to leave this to say that I don’t think Lupe was focusing on you guys singularly when speaking about “they talk about the artist and not the music”. What I got was that he was speaking on was review channels in general.
What do you guys think?
Five years ago he beefed with 2Dopeboyz, now y'all. Still got love for Lupe, those early mixtapes are rap classics.
Lupe had some good points, ..but y'all aren't doing anything wrong & I hope you don't try to change because of this. It's dope hearing your opinions on albums & hip-hop culture! Btw, have y'all listened to Noveliss' new album (Kenjutsu Under the Moonlight) yet? It's everything! 🙌💯
Damn. I didn’t know this was going down but as a fan from back in 2014 til now....yo y’all are in the clear. It’s a terrible situation to be called out on something innacurate but if anything more people are gonna check out the video and make their own opinions. Stay strong cus this bs will pass.
I think this is Dead End's most important video to date.....
I can remember Ken and Feefo being hesitant to like Tetsou and Youth primarily because they were still upset about Lupe's prior misses. I remember clearly Myke and Beezy praising it with specific details of the songs they liked. If there was any review that Lupe might be referring to it may have been that
Damn this was necessary! Good job guys.👏🏽
This about to be fyaaaaa🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
I think at the end of the day what you guys do is great and its for the culture as a whole which is bigger than any individual artist. Lupe is great but he is one of many and Mike put it best artist wants to be separated from the music when negativity surrounds them...that's facts
I feel like the whole entitlement thing was exmplified a couple years ago with Frank Ocean... Like when he delayed the album drop and went on a hiatus, fans got real pissed and offended, like they were being deprived of something that was righfully theirs. Hell I mighta even felt some type of way, like bruh just drop it already... But there's a difference between anxious anticipation and feeling angry that an artist is doing something their way. Respect to Lupe for bringing it up, even tho it wasn't at all what y'all meant
"MC Fourwax!"
donkor thomas I think he said mc floor wax! He got the slickest flow. 🤣
Title of the video: How Critics Respond To Criticism
This is normal throughout history with art. It's called communication between critics and artists. Hopefully both parties understand the good that each do for each other.
Yooo, when Feefo get to tiltin' that head back -- just let 'em go. He's in a zone. LMAO!
I feel that that ownership mentality comes from people's inability to dissociate the artist from the art as well as the accessibility of music in today's world.
Since people don't have to buy music to listen to it, doing so almost makes them feel as if they're charitable. The thing is, you're not charitable towards an object, you are towards a person. Therefore, you feel as if you have bought a part of an artist instead of having bought their product, so you feel as if they owe you.
I clicked play, I own y’alls souls. 😂
DOPE. Makes me proud to be a day one fan of you guys.
LMAO 13:06 Ken you was like "oop! we fucked up" lol
