  • Hello everyone
    I present to you the most demanding repair on a very sophisticated engine for me. My profession is electronics. I apologize for the poor translation with google translator. Maybe some sentences will be weird.
    This is my Audi A4 2.0TDI Quattro 190HP year 2016 with AdBlue system.Code of motor is DETA. It has 200,000 kilometers, and on diagnostics began to warn: fault P2002 SCR Efficiency below threshold.DPF had 60g of ash from max 80g.
    Be aware, however, that the cause of this error is a clogged EGR cooler that can be cleaned just like a DPF, although all service technicians will tell you that it is not possible. You can expect a bill over € 3,000 or $.

    Hi, about to start this job in next few days. I have few questions, do I need to adapt anything related to egr on vcds? As I’m using the same egr and not touching the dpf, is ther anything I need to do in vcds other than bleeding fuel lines? Also, what gaskets I need to change

    • @kmeckipunt5106
      @kmeckipunt5106  5 месяцев назад

      The seals must be new. The fuel supply system must be bled 15:12. If the EGR cooler is identical, no calibration is necessary, but it is recommended.

    I'just complete this same job, except for the dpf removal. I only went as far as the cooler. What an amazing point of reference this video is, Many thanks for taking the time to create this guide.
    I managed to clear the cooler with petrol rather than replacing it. I managed to get it out without dropping the exhaust. Removing the small heat shield by the pipes makes it easier. Still a 15hr job (For a Novice) .

    I’m doing this job right now. I got a tip for everyone who is going to remove the dpf as well. If you’re afraid or can’t get the oxygen sensors out without stripping the treads. You want to get a lifting jack and lift gently on the oil pan with a piece of lumber so you get the engine lifted a little bit. Then you want to grab a crowbar and lift by the turbo to get the engine a little more lifted at the dpf side.
    Also, no need to take apart the fuel lines to get access to do whatever needs to be done. Just grab a zip tie and it’s out of the way. This job will likely take about 8 hours if you got the correct tools if you know what you are doing.

    Very good video! 👍
    This is currently the only video on this topic on an Audi A4.
    I have the same error message (P2002) and have asked Audi Germany about the costs for this repair. Audi wants €2,100 for it. And yes, the part has no electrical system and can be cleaned. The cause of the contamination and thus the blockage is the AdBlue. The injection nozzle becomes clogged with AdBlue and drips. My Audi A4 is from 2019 and has just covered 152,000 km. If I also want to have the diesel particulate filter replaced, that would add another €3,600.
    According to your video, I don't have to do anything from below if I want to replace the EGR cooler?

      if there is only crystallized AdBlue-urea in your EGR cooler and DPF, then try DPF cleaner first. I just doubt that this foam will reach the EGR cooler and I am not sure that it will melt the urea crystals.

    My efforts have paid off. The car has been working flawlessly for more than half a year. The error has not yet appeared on diagnostics. But it is true that you cannot clean the DPF 100% with acid.Maybe it would if I left it in the acid for a whole day, but I don't know if there would be any ceramic honeycomb left.
    If I were to do it now, I'd take the DPF for pressure cleaning as well. In our country, it costs €150, but it takes at least 24 hours.

      @@spawntohell Did you wash exactly such an SCR system in a DPF washing machine? They didn't want it for me. They said that there is not enough space between the wall and the honeycomb - 2 cm, so the solidified ash gets stuck in the wall.

      @@kmeckipunt5106 i have the same system less adblue injection. They done it for me no problem. I have the 110kw variant of the engine but my engine is placed different as is in a Skoda. The issues i had after everything was put back is that all clamps and gaskets need replacing with new ones as will not seal properly if reused (turbo to dpf, egr cooler to dpf and dpf to rear exhaust) and you end up with fumes smell now and then in the habitat.

      I have an Audi, not a Škoda. There is no gasket between the turbine and the DPF, just a cone. I haven't changed the other gaskets and the engine is odorless. I'm actually fascinated by the cleanliness of these engines. The exhaust pipe shines like new after 210,000 km, really.
      Do you keep track of how many kilometers your DPF regeneration is now?My Audi regenerates every 300km.. Is that not enough?

    Hei, thanks for your amazing work. I have the same car and the same problem. I want to get out the egr + cooler. I saw that you lifted the car, my question: Is this mandatory or is possible to get out without lifting the car?

    • @kmeckipunt5106
      @kmeckipunt5106  Год назад

      I only lifted the car by 30 cm with a manual jack so that I could unscrew the DPF. It is not necessary to lift the car just for the EGR cooler. You must, however, unscrew and move the exhaust pipe so that you can pull the EGR cooler out. You can see this at 8:16.

      You can waste time if you have knowledge and skils, or money if you have it.
