@@rickmartin3073 I`d say tone knob is like a pump that regulates the air pressure in your tires. If the it`s low you have a smooth ride great for cruising = silky tone, great for single note slow soloing. If it`s high, you get better response from wheels to the steering-wheel and other way round = clearer and bitier sound, which reflects every movement on the sting.
Btw, to me all the guitars that have only bridge pickup are like rear-wheel drive cars - simple, easy in operation and cool for sliding in corners))

@gramcameron4469 tbh that is true... although you can easily feel it's a "handmade" guitar, I find my 2 new Epiphone's to be more consistent and durable than my 2 Gibson's. People would still buy a $3,000+ Gibson, if it devolved into a rotted block of wood, so long as it had the name on the headstock. They'd probably call it "The Log" and claim it's a recreation of Les Paul's prototype! Their quality has declined so much, It's hard to still take them seriously

Love the tone the whole way through, but especially what he's getting out of the clean channel near the end of the video, the Free stuff "All Right Now" amd "Oh I Wept"

I have been on the fence about Blackstars for a few months now. I think that couple of E chords that the Captain hits at 32:18 might have sold me on this whole set up. Great interview with a great dude and ridiculously great sounding gear!

Did he exchange the plastic nut for a bone nut on his signature guitar?
In the close-ups in this video you can see that the nut does not have
the extremely bright white of an Epiphone plastic nut.
This is not supposed to be a knock on this particular model. I own
one myself and think it is a great guitar! I was just wondering ... .
