Kazuya Guide/Tech: How to CDC Pivot/Perfect Pivot from a run

- Going over how Kazuya can Crouch Dash backwards from a run and pivot cancel. You can also perfect Crouch Dash cancel (Crouch Dashing for 1 frame) and pivot cancel since you are buffering Crouch Dash from a run turnaround. Gives a nice, quick change of direction and momentum which can lead to many other movement and options. While similar techniques have been shown off from a jump, this video shows how you can CDC Pivot from a run in 1v1. Increasing it's practicality and potential usefulness.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your input bar you put at the bottom of the screen as you go through each frame. As a box player I really appreciate the depth you go with these videos. Especially showing inputs and framedata.
TYVM! I also play on box, specifically the smash box which is even more beneficial for Kazuya due to the Mode button that is only on Smash Box. While I've been meaning to make a proper video going over my layout, I go over the base setup for my smash box Kazuya layout that a lot of players like Nito, Vendetta and Hushpuppy use in more depth here twitter.com/ViedViper/status/1535047940661706760
Don't have to use it, just something you might also be interested in :)
Good shit. Havent played for a while but I was messing around with this for some time and it was getting pretty clean. Good upload as always.
Thanks man! Haven't been able to really play in months either :( I saw, got caught up with a bunch of your vids, good stuff! Just tried to expand on some of the things you and others showed :)
Your guides are insane
TYVM!
Aw yis, more movement tech to grind from Viper. AW YIS, THAT TUNE KICKS IN
I love Skyrim so much!
Great shit man.
A valid reason to actually do deep dash? Hell yeah, good shit VV
Right ima learn this and use it in my matches
Ty ty! Yeah seems like it could be strong cause it gives another option to just barreling forward with wavedashing and running/deep dashing.
@@ViedViper tbh any option for Kazuya to mess with his opponent is cause enough for learning, the fact he arguably has restricted movement due to autoturnaround but then immediately has the best ground movement stemming from one movement option is beautiful
@@2350CST Yeah 100% agree! One move makes an already interesting char that much more interesting
AmaZing video viper!!! Been taking a break from smash but I know as soon as I get back I’m going to marathon your videos to get my kazuya back!!
TYVM, I was kinda of on a break too, but I guess we will both be back soon!
Nice stuff, i'll have to try this out for the next 5 hours after my mid terms.
Thanks! yeah definitely after your mid terms lol. GL!
Perfect pivots are back, thats hype !! Love your videos keep em coming viper.
Also we really need to get that beastball session going dude 🤙
Eventually maybe lol, I don't even have a switch lol
Similar techniques have been shown to this starting out of a jump and there are a bunch of links to this in the description. This expands on that allowing you to CDC pivot from a run. Ideally increasing it's practicality and potential usefulness. Haven't uploaded too much in a while, but I have a lot of stuff planned and should start to see videos more frequently :)
THANKS
2:20 how did you do this back and forth dashing?
That's a good question lol! It's a combination of Crouch Dash, cancels and turnarounds that I still need to look into more
Got it down in 20 minutes. Of course not to the speed you are able to do it but enough for it to be extremely useable and fairly easy on pad. I can def get it closer with time.
Ah nice! Even just be able to Crouch Dash back from a run seems very useful without all the other fancy stuff like a perfect pivot cancel.
@@ViedViper For sure.
Hey Vied, question fior you. I've seen your videos on how to cancel crouch dash into crouch to have options crouch spin kick, crouch jab, and dgf, but I'm curious- can you make a hand camera tutorial (or can you find one) on how to do that motion? Thanks! I think you play on box... so maybe it wouldn't be so useful, but the input of the joystick might help to look at anyways
Yeah I play on box, but for the inputs check this video here ruclips.net/video/xTDH1zFC8UY/видео.html at about the 5:03 mark. Also it goes over all the CDCs earlier in the video including N,DB and shows where the analog stick is regardless of box or pad. I do plan on making smash box specific videos soon though!
This was just the start of what would be come the reverse crouch dash
Bro how do you move so fast? What practice do you recommend?
Might be difficult to do on 8bitdo arcade stick but I think it's possible
Yeah, maybe just focus on getting run turnaround Crouch dash first, which seems pretty useful in it of itself.
Would you consider this akin to the skid CDC but more frame-tight? (Plausible on Gamecube Contoller?)
I've only tried practicing this stuff out of Rolls and RAR moves. I'm probably gonna lab this like hell when I'm not slaving at work LMAO
Kinda, I think with the skid, you turn with the skid/run turnaround then turn again with the Crouch Dash. This I compared more to the rolls/jumps/rars videos posted cause you are facing backwards and Crouch Dashing backwards. Giving another option instead of barreling forward with wavedashing/running. Lol gl in the lab!
@@ViedViper That's pretty frickin' epic. Thanks for the cool tutorial! I hope to have this down before my next local tournament 😤
So kazuya can moonwalk.
Hey, I know you play on box controller, but could you share which one? I have been looking into options, mostly between boxx and smashbox, and I was wondering which one you recommend
I play on smash box which lets you take advantage of the mode button and is really useful for Kazuya. It basically allows you to force the analog stick down. I plan on going over this more in a couple vids/weeks from now. I do not know of if the boxx has that button or some similar button, so you might want to look into that yourself as well.
@@ViedViper cool, thank you! I just ordered smashbox since they just restocked, so thank you and I look forward to that video
@@BoBoMuNcHcRunCH Ah nice! of course, np :)
Bro whats your tag on ssbu ?
Sorry, what does the UB in CDC-UB stand for?
That just means you are cancelling with Up-Back. So in your Crouch dash you do a neutral input followed by an UB input. This video goes over that and all the other cancels in more detail here ruclips.net/video/xTDH1zFC8UY/видео.html
@@ViedViper thanks!
This makes no sense without audio
