@@ViedViper I use a modded pro controller with notches, so thanks for the advice! Will def try to learn the timing on c stick dashes on top of perfecting the left stick dashes then 😊
Hi ViedViper. Thanks for the content. I am having trouble linking uptilt 1 to ewgf. Most of the time, I slide past the opponent before the ewgf comes out. Any methods you use to execute ewgf in the fastest frame possible? I am using the c-stick method in your previous ewgf tutorial.
Lol you and me both. It's not so bad after a nair though, but I'm going to look into it more myself, especially once I get the training mod pack. I think window is just tighter when using the c-stick method, since c-stick down is an A press and that will give you Up-Tilt(2), so you have to do it later, but not so much that you slide past them. I'm not too sure about that though, cause what are you using to up-tilt with? c-stick up or up and A? Also I have suspicion that it is easier to buffer an electric on frame 2 of your Crouch Dash. So we might just have to be tighter on out buffer inputs, but idk about that either. I'm going to start up-tilit more in combos and lab some stuff out myself. But at certain percents and heights you hit up-tilt against certain chars you can try other routes. Such Up-tilt(1), Up-tilt(1) EWGF/Up-Smash or Up-tilt(1), Up-Smash. If I figure something out I will definitely let you know.
Thanks for the reply! I do forward on the control stick, then c-stick down, then control stick angle forward down, then immediately press the right shoulder button (set to A) I think by using the c-stick method, I'm sliding forward because I'm not entering the other inputs fast enough after forward on the control stick.
@@no.4366 Oh I meant do you up-tilt with c-stick up or Up+A. I think you are right though, we just have to buffer our inputs really quick (like a 3 frame electric/PEWGF ideally) , but also a slightly later than the standard method, so we do not get up-tilt(2) from doing c-stick down. The reason I ask how you up-tilt is because I think it might be easier if you use the c-stick and hold it up a little longer (for me that is a button on my smash box, so that might be a little easier than on pad) and then buffer your electric. I think by holding c-stick up a little longer it will lock you out of pressing c-stick down that would input up-tilt(2), but would still buffer an electric without the that dash. Just a thought, I have not extensively tested it though. But I will let you know when I do.
Yeah it is a combination of your percent (Rage and even Rage Drive since that gives a 1.1 damage boost, which I believe effects hitstun) and their percent. Also the lower you hit them towards the ground helps a bit, cause if there is less hitstun you also have the chance of hitting them as they pop up. And Thanks!
Yeah, the only problem with that is that since Z is a macro for shield + tap A when you go to buffer and electric with Z you will mostly end up rolling since you are pressing forward + Z
I plan on doing another video on Crouch Dash cancelling, but for now I would say only focus and a few of the easier ones, like imo N,F and N,B and take it slowly. For instance try cancelling closer to frame 14 of you Crouch Dash instead of trying to blitz with as many CDC out of the gate. There are some advantages to doing it slower/closer to Frame 14 than as fast as possible. Especially with CDC-F imo. Once you are consistent with that, then you can try doing it quicker.
I know about it, I just don't dash walk that much atm, so I haven't really been trying it. I'll definitely start trying it more though and it is pretty easy to dash walk off a CDC too, so it should not be too hard to incorporate into my game I would think.
Essentially to EWGF you just enter Crouch Dash and while holding DF you tap A on what would be the first frame or second frame Crouch Dash. So to c-stick Crouch Dash you do F to start your initial dash then while holding either F/UF/DF you c-stick down then release to neutral. Since we want to EWGF you want to hold DF. The frame you release to neutral is is the first frame of your Crouch Dash. So you want to Tap A that frame or the frame after while holding DF. If you are getting WGF it sounds like you are just tapping A a bit too late or not holding DF or both. The frame you let go of c-stick down you need to Tap A that frame or the frame after while holding DF. Hope this helps!
@@ViedViper That’s gonna take some time getting use. But thanks for the tip the hurdle I have jump now my handy dandy GameCube controller I’ve been using should just get a better one…
Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I can't seem to catch people out of down throw using the c stick method. It would seem the frame lag from throwing keeps me from buffering the input and if I do it on time out of lag they're out of hitstun. Essentially how do I do this as early as the normal input does out of grab but with c stick.
You should be able to buffer it with the c-stick method. You really can't with other moves like up-tilt(1) and crouch jab cause you will get other moves with c-stick down input. But throw should not be a problem. I think when the camera starts to zoom out is a pretty good timing to input it if you don't have it down naturally yet. Its also char and percent based too. It won't work vs some chars and it will definitely stop working the higher the percentages go. I just did it vs a Lucina at 0% air dodging and DI away and I got it to true hitstun combo (3hits) with both the standard method and the c-stick method using the camera zoom out timing.
@@ViedViper Also I find when miss timed out of grab he kind of cancels his down tilt to do a strange spin of sorts. I have the timing down for the move overall but this happens because I've been unsure when to buffer.
@@Q-64 That is just the down-tilt which you can kara cancel with shield, which makes me think you are pressing z. Hard to say if you are just miss inputting it, buffering too earlier or both. But I think you are just buffering too earlier. I think the game doesn't read the forward input because that single input was buffered too earlier. Which gives you the down tilt from c-stick down then kara cancels it when you press z to EWGF.
