12:23 was the cleanest CDC DGF I’ve ever seen. So perfectly micro spaced and executed within such a short time frame. Perfectly buffered inputs, well done.
Thank you to PKG for letting me use their clip vs Yoshi. The one I showed was probably me just being bad. I also had a clip downloaded from Riddles stream showing where they whiffed an Up Smash after an AA combo and this might have been useful, but I never asked nor got his permission so I didn't include it. Unfortunately I did not have the best clips to show where this could be useful in combos so definitely check out PKG links in the description. While I would not be too worried about using this in combos, I think it is very useful in neutral and you should give it a try.
Bro your content has been really informative and well-paced. I’ve been working on picking up Kazuya since he’s dropped and you’ve definitely helped me a lot. Keep up the good work!
Really nice tech! Can't wait to try this. I been doing it so far only with demon god fist I think it's called. The rising punch that stuns. Great application as well. This however def opens some new doors. Rly glad to see ppl discovering new things with this character.
Hi! Amazing tech, I always felt cancelling with back input felt a little awkward but jumping is pretty natural. Can you also get this if my jump button in on the L trigger? Also, is there a list of moves you can cancel into, or is it any on the ground? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! Yes it should work with any jump button, but you will still need a neutral input on the analog stick. The only move you can instantly cancel into is Left Splits Kick/Reflect shown in this video here ruclips.net/video/K_ma_jHdEjc/видео.html For any other normal you will have to use a directional cancel or as shown here a jump cancel then 1 frame later you can do just about any move. That should work for going into almost any move (CDC-F not so much cause you tend to hit F twice and the game will read that as Left Splits Kick/Reflect a lot of the time, even when trying for an Up-Smash). But the directional cancel you pick will depend on the situation I.E if you want to move back, forward or transition to crouch. Hope this helps!
I think this should work: To c-stick Crouch Dash you only need a forward input to be the first frame. (and that should be the only input the first frame) Then anytime afterwards and while you do c-stick down, c-stick neutral you can hold UF or DF. If you hold UF that should also register up for Up Smash. So after you do c-stick down, c-stick neutral come up and quickly do x/y to A which should give you jump cancel Up Smash since you are holding up forward. Also maybe you can try jump on a shoulder button. Hopefully this helps, it should work but hopefully it makes it easier.
You can jump cancel out of crouch dash? You can also input down back and up back to cancel, can’t you? Is there a difference? If so, Which method is best?
Yup you can jump out of Crouch Dash :) AS well as you can do up back to jump if you have Tap Jump on and if you have Tap Jump off it will instantly stop your momentum. There is a bunch of different cancels and neutral, down back moves you horizontally quickly while transitioning you to crouch the fastest. This lets you attack with your crouch and while standing moves the fastest while moving forward. The best method is the one best for the given situation and what you want to do. I'd recommend watching this video as it goes over all of them in detail ruclips.net/video/xTDH1zFC8UY/видео.html even if it is a little long lol
@@ViedViper thanks. It’s kinda embarrassing asking others what I ought to think but I asked cause you know best. And you’re right, the best option is whatever the situation calls for. I didn’t realize the ↙️ cancel was for faster crouch jabs and demon god fists. Thanks again. I love the feedback.
But which directional Crouch Dash cancel and how deep into your Crouch Dash? If you do CDC-F, even if done as late as possible in your CD (Frame 14) you still have to wait 10ish frames to Up Smash or the game will read Left Splits Attack/Reflect. Assuming no smash stick, never tested with smash stick, but I don't think I would ever not use tilt stick, so I am not really concerned with that. You can instantly Up Smash after doing CDC-B and CDC-UB (tap jump off), but done anywhere in your CD (Frame 3-14) will stop/reverse your forward momentum defeating the purpose of this. As even if you Up Smash ASAP you still end up moving backwards. Which brings us to some better options, CDC-DB and CDC-UF (tap jump off). Towards the end of your directional cancel window in your Crouch Dash (frame 14 and slightly before where you start to lose your horizontal momentum) there is almost, if any no difference between jump cancelling Frame 14 Up-Smash and CDC-DB/CDC-UF (tap jump off) on frame 14 Up Smash. But for most frames you can cancel (frames 3-11), jump cancel up-smash does scoot your horizontally further in the same number of frames than CDC-DB/CDC-UF (tap jump off). And it becomes more noticeable the earlier you Crouch Dash cancel. So not only is this the best method to do it, it is the easiest method to do it for Tap Jump players. For Tap Jump players all you have to do is return the stick to neutral than smash Up then A. This works since you can CDC-N,Up with tap jump on resulting in a jump, but it does not work with tap jump off as CDC-N,Up does not cancel your Crouch Dash and of course Up does not allow you to jump with tap jump off. Idk how many pad players use Tap Jump On, but almost all box players seem to. Although ironically idk if that is best for Kazuya lol. I'm back to tap jump off for a few reasons and I haven't really done this much since. Hope this helps!
I wouldn't worry too much about doing this in combos atm, but I think it is a really good tool in neutral. It gives you a quick burst horizontal with I-Frames while you are low profiling, then combine that with Up-Smashes I-frames, armor and low profiling and you have a really powerful sequence. I tried to show this at the 0:44 mark. Then you can combine this with multiple crouch dashes like vs Hero (but in a more practical scenario lol) and then there just way more advantages to this over dash up smash or dash dash up smash etc.
Question, do you crouch dash by rolling the analog stick forward, down and down forward or do you do it separately like going forward, slightly neutral, then down and down forward? Basically do you do it in one motion or no?
I play on smash box and for traditional fighting game I play on pad I mostly use the d-pad for inputs. Since it is just a dp motion, on an analog stick though you will probably either just go from f to d in a mostly a straight line or you will end up rolling from f to df to d. Then you roll from d to df. Going straight from f to d you won't necessarily do a full "press" of a df input but more like a slight "press" of df. Like if you were walking by holding forward. Both feel like one motion to me and either ways is fine. Once you start drilling it and get it down effortlessly, you probably won't notice one way or the other. On analog stick I tend to go straight from f to d though, even if it may read a df input.
It is definitely possible, not sure if optimal on a pad but I will definitely will not be the person optimizing stuff on pad lol But you can still do all the advance techniques on pad. You still will have to grind and train it out until you have it consistently one way or the other though.
It is his double jump property or more commonly referred to in smash games as his parry, where the Double Jump has a certain amount of armor depending on the game.
