    My nano landed Friday....stock sounds are great! I just captured all three channels of my JsX today. All three came out very accurate, the crunch channel cleans up nicely rolling off guitar volume. Nice vid .

    Great "normal guitarist" review and demo. I love my UA Lion but I can see capturing my presets off that into the Nano and dropping it off the board. Got mine on order.

      Same. I love the lion but I only use 1 sound + boost the whole time and capturing a sound of that setting and then capturing the sound with the lion boost on would do it for me AND eliminate the biggest problem I have with the Lion (and the ANTI) is that you can't use a footswitch to toggle between 2 presets. It's pretty frustrating.
      But yeah, the lion is on my list to capture. I REALLLLLY wish I still had the Orange OR30 to capture. That amp was ridiculously good.

      Unfortunately UAFX Lion is very hard to capture with QC for me. The compression vente into the amp modeling in Lion just doesn’t feel the same on the capture…

      @@notalkguitarampplug-insrev784 Doesn't surprise me. That clean compression is really what makes the old JMP's unique and probably why I didn't think any of the kemper profiles of old marshalls felt right.

      This thing is going to be that gateway drug to the full size QC. I think once Neural get the SLO and Petrucci plugins into the QC I may jump on one. I'll probably end up selling my FM3 though if I do that.

    I wanted instant access to more presets at my feet (plus I didnt want to wear out the switches on my nano) so I started plugging in midi controllers I had lying around. I finally settled on an old Fender Cybertwin foot controller in the midi port of the nano and now I can switch between 10 presets per bank. The footcontroller is kinda large but I dont travel with it so its perfect to access more than just the four pressets on the fly and im not stepping on switches that double as rotary knobs.

    I tried one in the FX loop of my Tone Master Pro, just to use the Nano Cortex amp captures, the blend of the Nano captures and the TMP’s cabinets and effects sounded pretty good.

    • @FastRedPonyCar
      @FastRedPonyCar  7 дней назад +1

      I tried that with a couple of amps running to a load box and then line out into the TMP to use effects and the cab sims. Worked really great. I'm going to be testing this running into my Universal audio OX Stomp for more control over the cab sounds and also to have the ability to run 1 output with cab sim enabled and another output with it bypassed to go to an amp and cabinet. I think eventually Neural will add the ability to do this but it's just one of the many "I hope they add this" wishlist items for me.

      @@FastRedPonyCarI’d like to do this as well - a hybrid rig where I have a tube amp behind me on stage and run a line out from the Nano to FOH for the PA. I was thinking that I could just run a splitter after my last pedal, with one signal going to the Nano and one straight to my amp. It would mean that I use only my pedals for delay and verb, rather than than the Nano FX, but it might be an easy solution. Not sure that’s the best use of all the Nano features though…

    • @FastRedPonyCar
      @FastRedPonyCar  6 дней назад

      @@onenotesolo256 There's a couple ways to look at it (at least from my perspective). For the time being, if you want to split the signal like that on stage, the most cost effective solution would be to grab a cheap IR loader pedal like the little sonicake or the Nux pulse if you want a bit more flexibility with that and then you would use a head-only capture from the Nano sending it out of the pedal to the IR loader would then feed the PA system your DI cab sound.
      Then you would just send the other output of the Nano into whatever amp on stage you are using.
      It doesn't solve the problem of not being able to easily footswitch the delay/chorus on or off with the Nano but it gets your signal split on stage.
      If you want to get fancier with the cab simulation, you could get something like the TwoNotes Cab M+ and use the dynamic cab stuff or (my preference) you could grab the Universal Audio OX Stomp and use that for cab simulation.
      They're all workarounds though to a problem that hopefully won't be around forever but once you introduce something like the Cab M+ or OX Stomp, you gain way more flexibility with the DI sound output than what the Nano offers (which is simply either the IR on or off).

      Yeah I'm going to be capturing my SLO, Nitro, the UA Lion pedal and I did a test capture last night at low volume just to see how it works and it's about 95% accurate when A/B'ing between the real amp and cab vs the capture. It's shockingly accurate.
      I've got the Friedman Plex, JCM800, 5153, etc (among many others) all on my list of amps for Zzounds to send me.

      It's metal and smooth I guess. Feels solid. This and the QC are a notch below the build/material quality that Fender used in the tonemaster pro but it still feels solid and my band's bassist and singer have both been using QC's on stage about mid 2021 with no issues.
