The Calibarn looks so similar to the Lfrith because they were "sisters" and rivals from the start. They were built about the same time (pre vanadis incident) and Calibarn is essentially a limiter removed Lfrith with max performance at the cost of no pilot survivability.
15:06 the heel part is suppose to move all the way down along with the toes (Which is why there is a gap there unlike the other WFM kits), for the gundam's high mobility mode when flying with the variable rod riffle. You can also see this in use in ep 23 when Aerial is fighting Calibarn.
Like on Gundam Pharact
One hidden secret on that clear standard base (which bandai never give us instructions how to use it). You can plug multiple stand arms at those 3mm holes on the stand feet. That way is the best budget alternative way to put many gundbits on. 😊😊
I hope we get a 1/100 FM version of the Calibarn
and a Master Grade later down the line!

This is another of my favorite kits, thank you for sharing.
The grey flaps on the feet are for "High Mobility Mode," the toes point all the way downward and you are supposed to bring the flaps down with the toes.
Tall-Ballerina mode!😅
Only useful in atmosphere since it doesn't matter in space.

Now that I think about it, the Calibarn reminds me of a UC unit: Woundwort.
I love thise simple action base one came woth the sd phoenix gundam! Great for holding torso while i build legs, arms and weapons. ❤

my very first gundam kit and it was super fun to build. Looks really unique and decent detail for being so small. Gona try a MG now! Maybe do some custom panel lining and stuff

The design of the witch broom reminded me of gundam x maoh's satellite cannon. It is one of my favorite HGBF gunpla and I'm really happy that Bandai created something similar to it.
It would make perfect sense:
X-Maoh (魔王 - Demon King) and Majo (魔女 - Witch)
Also, Mao got screwed for being the only male rival to not get an MG (which I think they supposedly justify by releasing the MG GX/DX in that time frame which is frankly speaking, 10+ years late to the party).
The beams are the same as what came with the Aerial and Aerial Rebuild. Aerial's come on a different runner than SB-09, but they "are" the same
The kit looks spectacular for a HG, but mine is a little flimsy in a lot of places. I can't hold it from the upper torso, because the red piece in the waist doesn't connect to the rest of the waist securely enough, and it just falls out. A little frustrating while trying to pose it, it keeps happening so often that I'm considering just gluing it lol
It's not the stand's peg... It's the connection between the stand that leans to the front you're gonna have to tight it up a bit so it won't lean forward
The torso can actually move side to side.
Now that the WFM line is over I wonder if you have any interest in Goodsmile's Chitocerium kits. I think they are very premium kits with very nice elegant designs, It would be great to hear your thoughts on them!
It reminds me of the Tallgeese.
I'm building this at the moment and I'll say that it is 3 (awful) seamlines away from being the best WFM kit.

Will you be reviewing the FM Aerial?
Removing the safety flags on the prepainted V fin is quite easy since it is just on the side nothing on the underside where the paint is so as long as you are carefully you can remove it easily.
the feet can fold together for higher space mobility. same as the Gundam Pharact just without the beam sabers build into the feet.
it is one of the sister units to the Gundam Lfrith from the Prolouge so they still share a lot of design clues tho it takes more after aerial in my opinion especialy the legs with the build in shell units
How would yo go about removing seamlines?

The foot gimmick is it can fold downwards like the Pharact. It's shown in the manual

It may leave white stress marks. But a glass file can buff it out.

Would you recommend this kit to a newbie as their first build?
Yeah all these really modern HGs, especially the WFM line are great for beginners IMO. If you’re a newbie, the only things id recommend staying away from are super old kits, especially the older RGs.

I live in the Netherlands and I can't get this kitt in my country, no one sells it for some reason.
probably just don't have it yet. It takes time for distribution to reach over there I guess.
Still strange to me that not a single MG came from this series. I feel like it had the popularity to support it
Less about the popularity and more about Bandai probably not thinking it'd do well, if I had to imagine
MG Barbatos also only came years later, so there is still hope.

Is it only me like Aerial more than Calibarn?
the last time we had a Gundam with a clear V-fin was the Beginning Gundam from Gunpla Builders Beginning G, but in-universe the reason its V-fin being clear is due to it being made of Beam energy.
Painting some blue on its body and those bits and it's basically Aerial with broom stick.
Its looks good but since i dont paint the kits for me its too white, also i saw someone elses kit and those v fins dont look as good if youre not shining a light on them. would have liked it more if the vfin and permat were more rainbowy
Even just doing the panel lines and chucking on some decals would break it up imo. I built the MG FAZZ awhile back and its like mostly white. Once i lined it and threw on some decals it looked awesome.
Kind of looks like the nu gundam and unicorn had a baby. I love it best gundam design in the series hands down. 😊 mine will be in my hands in 5 days. I got it of Amazon for $47 bucks on a pre order. I've already seen it start jumping upwards of $80. People are going to hoard them up and Jack the price up on resale for sure.

I feel like it's very underwhelming
Ive been watching the WFM series and only got like 4 episodes left i believe and I aint even seen like half the kits from the WFM line I've seen you do so far. Like ive seen the Aerial and then that turquoise one and the brownish one that look almost alike that the badguys had attacking that space station. Do they not show all the kits in the show?!
Sadly most Mobile suits other than the Aerials and Demi Trainer have like 4 minutes of screentime, so blink and you miss it

Ya im rather disappointed in the WFM show all around. It only focuses on Aerial really and its pilot whos an over emotional baby with mommy syndrome lol. Was lacking in so many facets, such as actual story, plots, characters and the list goes on. Wasnt really too much that took place and every episode basically seemed the same more or less. I hope they do a remake or something and actually put in some effort that time around as far as an anime goes. 4/10 at best lol. 😭
I wanna get this, but I also know there has to be a MG version coming in the future. So I guess I'll wait.

Aesthetically this is neat gundam, the clear rainbow placement is good but lack of new shield/bits weapon really downside of this kit. Overall this is good kit to build

And since Zaku works for and represents USAGundam, it seems fair that he builds and review kits that they have or do have in stock! That’s my issue! He reviews a kit and I say “I need that”, but it isn’t available in the site he works for.
