Holy moly the fact that this has almost a full internal frame is insane, I knew they were really pushing the mold forward with this new line but I didn’t know it was going that far
Words genuinely cannot express how grateful I am for you using a walnut in the size comparison. That was by far the clearest representation of the Lfrith's size. Thank you so much.
Really amazing to see just how far HG kits have come over the years. I swear this one almost looks like a RG to me. Definitely looking forward to grabbing this one myself!
Episode 0 actually made me cry a little. Other than a few of the original first season's episodes, witch from mercury is my first time watching gundam after getting into building mecha kits/gunpla and I wasn't expecting it to be this intense.
This thing really feels like the pay off from when we saw what they were doing with the HG Moon Gundam a few years ago. Wicked looking kit, I'd love to get one.
This definitely feels like the moon gundam in a whole lot of ways! It shocked me though that when I put the moon down beside it, the Lfrith pretty much eclipses it in every aspect.
i dont think ive ever seen a high grade go this hard before. It's amazing how much detail they shoved into such a small kit, it's almost like a real grade. you bet I would love to get this kit no questions asked~!
I really like how it looks because it break so far from the "standard" gundam design. Also it gives me the vibe that this could pass as the final evolution of the police robots from PatLabor, cause of the bunny ears.
The Witch from Mercury is definitely different from the other Gundam series. I love the MS designs and plot. Very excited to see the new kits released in the series.
The name is Lfrith, as that is a Watership Down reference, it's just written as Ruburisu in Japanese because that's the best approximation of Lfrith you can get with Japanese phonetics.
Your Lfrith explanation seems to be the best as Frith means Peace, Protection, etc, in Anglo-Saxon, yet has some connotations of friendship. Rubirisu might be related to Rubric which is about the Red/Red Ochre ink used in writing specially highlighted text, yet has connotations of magic and/or religion.
@@garygcrook oh, and there are a bunch of Watership Down references in Gundam AOZ, so it makes sense they’d continue to reference the book later on in other parts of Gundam
I first started gunpla in 1998, built about a dozen 1/144s before I dropped it completely. I came back into the hobby in 2018 and I gotta say, it's really the best time to be into gunpla! The leaps and bounds that Bandai has accomplished in the past 2 decades is really nothing short of phenomenal. ♥️
actually there is alot of color inaccuracy in the HG Lfrith kit, but they didnt give you the stickers the armor suppose to have a green camera part and gray part. they only gave you white.
The HG Lfrith actually has a LOT of color inaccuracies, however it's mainly for small details you need to fill in like all the small green pieces and white parts. You won't notice said color inaccuracies unless you do a detailed side-by-side with the lineart and/or painted model. The HG Aerial in contrast has more obvious color inaccuracies, but in turn has far less of them than the Lfrith. Also, while the Aerial has larger color-correcting stickers, they're only found on the GUND Bit Shield, with none on the actual mecha. Well, there are those stickers on the shoulder, but those are part of the GUND Format gimmick, and you can decide whether you want to it black or glowing red.
It's a high grade so color correction is always expected. All good for me though since I paint details to my kits anyway. I'm talking more about the build, details and overall aesthetic. We've come so far from the polygonal blocks of ye olde lol. Case in point, I'm currently working on the HG Ex-S and maaaaan, as much as I really love its design, the actual kit is a pain. What I wouldn't give for Bandai to give that kit a modern treatment!
Having built this as only my 5th kit ever this is easily my favourite, even over the MG Astray red frame kai and RG unicorn Gundam. Incredibly easy to build, looks amazing, the articulation is fantastic and the overall build once complete is so solid. I'm not afraid to touch it for fears of breaking it or having something fall off just by looking at it. I know this is a weird thing to be picky about but I love the look of the feet on this, almost every kit I have the feet are just...eh. also another thing that this kit does right that most other kits I've built just seems to feel wrong are the hip joints, maybe because the first kit I ever built I broke the hip joint and I've always been concerned about that since but this just feels and looks fantastic. I'd say this is the ideal beginner kit and has enough room for the advanced builders to really customise!
I was hooked the moment I saw it and pre ordered as fast as I could. I gotta say though, I almost like Lfrith more than Aerial? then again we haven't seen the latter in action.
I’d say this kit makes me extremely hopeful for the whole new line and while I like the G Reco line I feel like the Witch line is what G reco was aiming to be, very advanced sci fi designs with simplified builds but no dropping of quality for the kits

The G-Witch airing can't come soon enough! I'm digging all the designs so far, especially from the newcomer designers JNTHED (Lfrith, Aerial) and Wataru Inata (Pharact). Great review as always and I wouldn't mind adding Lfrith to my collection. Thanks for the opportunity and good luck to everyone else!

This kit looks amazing for the price, deffo seems like a must have for any builder. Here’s hoping the quality of this kit translates to the other Witch from Mercury kits as well as the eventual Master Grades
Between this kit and the entry grades, Bandai has really been making amazing starter kits! Maximum detail, minimal complexity and ALL of the articulation! No longer does HG feel like a compromise of "price for quality".

I've built quite a few hg kits over the years, and I love how they just keep getting more and more advanced as time passes! After seeing all the coolness this suit has, I absolutely must have one! @@wulf8889 Sadly. Though at the very least we know it's coming, since the runners for the HG Lfrith are built in such a way that they can easily remove the backpack, receiver gun, and GUND Bit Shield from the packaging, which are the parts that the Pre-Production Type doesn't need.
Something in me always starts cackling like a mad witch whenever somebody has decided to paint the giant robot of death in bright pink and my god does this suit have that effect on me. Also as a girl I am very hyped for The witch from mercury being the first gundam anime to actually have a woman as a protagonist.
I want this kit, the Lfrith is such a cool kit. Love the new shield/gun bits, The way everything is stored on the backpack is such a lovely design. The build quality just seems to shine like no HG before it. I hope we see that new moulding method used more in future.
The Witch From Mercury has an entire HG series already lined up, and most of them appear to use the same general philosophy. The Lfrith is pretty much the standard with which all upcoming HG's will be put up against.
Man, I absolutely love this kit. All the details and the improvements and extra gimmicks just make it awesome. Sucks that they'll disappear immediately because scalpers are horrid, so it's great to see you decide to at least give one of us a chance to get it. I hope everyone else get their chance to experience it!

This really does feel like Bandai taking the HG line as a whole to the next level, and I'm very excited to see where they go from here. Praying Bandai actually makes master grades of Witch of Mercury mobile suits though, because I would love this and Aerial in master grade form. At least a Real Grade... c'mon Bandai I'm begging...
Same here. Also excited for the future of hg. Bandai already released a bunch of their like hg 2.0 for most of the gundam series because of the build series, but they haven’t made a 2.0 for the gundams of gundam 00. For that I’m hoping that the gundams they make for hg for those gundams will be in this quality. Even if we don’t get like a master grade 2.0 for Exia if the hg is as good as this, I’m sold.
Everything about this kit looks amazing, and the quality seems almost too high for a $13 high grade. If this is setting the standard for future hg kits, then they're all going to be bangers from here on out. After seeing the design, probably going to check out the anime.
Bandai have a history of selling main suits at a super low low price to get people hooked. The Gundam Aerial is even cheaper then this because it's the true main suit. As far as I remember its just over $10 for the HG Aerial
just saw the prologue and I am super hyped for this kit haven't bought a model kit in a while because I've been low on funds but I'll definitely be finding way to get this kit, it looks fantastic (The NEED is strong with this one)
Id love to try my hand at building one of these! It was this channel that introduced me to Gunplay building, and I ended up starting with the IBO line, Barbatos Lupis HG to be exact. Crazy to see how far the HG craft has come.
@1.27 "Having trouble grabbing one... Saying that you want this kit." Can confirm, BBTS and my local shop (Houston, TX) have no results for Gundam LFrith. I like high grades (my most recent turns into a train and is adorable), so I'd like to throw my hat into the ring if you're still doing a giveaway- "I want this kit." So, thanks, and and thank you @GaiKotsu for providing the most interesting gunpla reviews I've found. Much appreciated,
I wasn't sure what this kit would be like at first, but now seeing everything it offers I WANT THIS KIT. Thank you for doing such an in-depth video on this kit and in general.
I'm late to the party, but I am now on the hunt for this kit. Great video and review. Your Witch from Mercury HG reviews have convinced me to start painting and building again. Much thanks.
I absolutely love the size comparison and the backpack fashion show the Freedom wings look so cool on the Lfrith, When i first saw the prologue i was amazed by how good the Lfrith looked and they nailed it in gunpla form, The chest unit looks really well and it looks like a solid kit overall, I'd love to get one.
I want it so bad! Started the hobby three weeks ago just because of Lfrith and Beguir-Beu kits I saw online. It's been fun, but I can't wait to build those two ^^
@TEXT mecha_gaikotsu @ TELEGRAM Not sure you're the real Gaikotsu... but if you are : thanks for that, but I managed to lock in a pre-order for both Lfrith and Beguir-Beu a few hours after I posted my comment. So feel free to choose another winner, who might not have had the same luck ! Though this is the first time I win a giveway of this kind, the prize would be wasted on me. I may be new to it, and there may be a ton of kits I want to build, including some I want multiple of, but one Lfrith is enough for me ^^

As i have just started Gunpla, i have instantly fallen in love with this hobby. this kit would be such a nice add to my small collection. needless to say.... I want this kit!
Regarding the raffle, I want this kit. I love the Witch from Mercury designs a lot more than I expected with the dense, slanting panels and beveled depth. Also, the bit system is truly beautiful to behold in animation. I haven't built a HG/RG before since I hadn't found one (physically) that caught my eye, but this series is gonna 100% change that...
I would love one of these! I've been getting back into Gundam and Gunpla, starting with my favorite series, but I am so hype about this new series! Especially the chance to start collecting its Gunpla from the beginning; it's been wild and a challenge in itself just to find the models I'm looking for, much less building them. Great video!
I love seeing this thing next to the older designs. It's clearly a Gundam alright, but you'll never mistake it for anything but a G-witch machine. That shield really feels like a modern version of the Nu Gundam's fin funnels in their use. The Gund-bits are arguably even more versatile.
I was on the fence about all the witch designs but your review inspired to actually watch the prologue. Aside from never hearing "happy birthday" song the same way for the rest of my life I now love the designs and would love to win one.
I want one. They didn't have to go this hard on a HG but they DID. That holographic piece is INSANE. That hyper pink is INSANE. Upgraded stickers is INSANE. AFFORDABLE?!?!?!?! I'm so excited to see the kits that come after this. Brilliant.
This was one of the ones I really liked the look of. The crazy pink bug guy looked kinda neat too but this was the MS that spoke to me from this series, glad it lives up to what I had hoped
I adore this color scheme. I love pink and this is the first Gunpla I’ve seen that pulls off pink imo. Sign me up for this giveaway I’d love to add this to my collection!

I can honestly say that I love all the mobile suit designs from G Witch. The Lfrith especially. This kit is definitely high on my to get list.
Too bad the mass production prototype is probably PBandai.
These Witch From Mercury designs are beautiful. I’m really hoping for a couple of MGs.
agree. the hg aerial is damn way too awesome. how much more on the upcoming higher grade
The little tutorial during the build sections helped a lot when building my first kit. (Calibarn). Cheers, Mecha Gaikotsu
It's crazy how far HG has come and you can really tell how crazy they've outdone themselves with this new line. Absolutely NEED and WANT these kits😩
We need more of these budget friendly HG kits
18:04 That Murdock backpacks looks PERFECT on this for some reason!
Something in me always starts cackling like a mad witch whenever somebody has decided to paint the giant robot of death in bright pink and my god does this suit have that effect on me. Also as a girl I am very hyped for The witch from mercury being the first gundam anime to actually have a woman as a protagonist.
Interesting
Her design rivals bael and that one red and green one
It's a really good suit, I've grown to like the Bit stave units. And that beam gun, just perfect.
I would definitely want this kit. I’ve started building gunpla since COVID started and find this hobby really awesome.
@@StrikeNoir105E and I hope we see it’s new design philosophy outside of this HG line once it’s over
Man, I absolutely love this kit. All the details and the improvements and extra gimmicks just make it awesome. Sucks that they'll disappear immediately because scalpers are horrid, so it's great to see you decide to at least give one of us a chance to get it. I hope everyone else get their chance to experience it!
Just recently got into gunpla and I’m glad I did! All the builds have something special!
I'm very excited to see where this line as a whole goes, especially knowing that it very well might be a line with 0 polycaps- at least I hope so.
Well, $13, depending on where you get it.
Really glad I got into gunpla now so that I can experience these witch from mercury kits🥳
just saw the prologue and I am super hyped for this kit haven't bought a model kit in a while because I've been low on funds but I'll definitely be finding way to get this kit, it looks fantastic (The NEED is strong with this one)
@TEXT mecha_Gaikotsu @ TELEGRAM fake account say what?
Id love to try my hand at building one of these! It was this channel that introduced me to Gunplay building, and I ended up starting with the IBO line, Barbatos Lupis HG to be exact. Crazy to see how far the HG craft has come.
@1.27 "Having trouble grabbing one... Saying that you want this kit."
Can confirm, BBTS and my local shop (Houston, TX) have no results for Gundam LFrith. I like high grades (my most recent turns into a train and is adorable), so I'd like to throw my hat into the ring if you're still doing a giveaway- "I want this kit."
So, thanks, and and thank you @GaiKotsu for providing the most interesting gunpla reviews I've found.
Much appreciated,
I wasn't sure what this kit would be like at first, but now seeing everything it offers I WANT THIS KIT. Thank you for doing such an in-depth video on this kit and in general.
I love when you make videos on high grades because even though I have been building for a few years now I still mainly buy high grades
Yeah i definitely want this kit. It looks incredible. Great review, it definitely made me want this kit even more. Thank you.
This really does look so so cool. I am liking this Gundam more than I thought I would. Definitely has me interested in watching the anime now too.
@TEXT mecha_gaikotsu @ TELEGRAM ty for getting my hopes up for a bit Mr spam bot
I'm late to the party, but I am now on the hunt for this kit. Great video and review. Your Witch from Mercury HG reviews have convinced me to start painting and building again. Much thanks.
Now I know where to place my other Kits whenever I ran out of place to put them! Thanks for the Idea!
I may be new to it, and there may be a ton of kits I want to build, including some I want multiple of, but one Lfrith is enough for me ^^
I want this kit... And I have to say, that was the BEST size comparison I've EVER seen done!
Literal skeleton in the closet, you're killing me, Mecha. I want every single kit from this line, I love all of the designs!
Lfrith looks amazing, definitely want one! I really hope they make MGs of this series.
I want this kit, it has really cool design with nice crisp details. I dig those color palettes with very little color correcting stickers needed. This kit feels like if you combine ibo kit with eva kit, i can't wait to have this kit and aerial.
First video of yours I've seen because I'm pretty new to this stuff in general, but this was an awesome and really informative video. Love the energy!
amazing review man. never built one in my life and just bought this!
I WANT THIS KIT
Like legit, one of the most appealing looking gundul ive seen for a few time. The bunny ears and the vibe of the kit reminds me of g self, which i really like and it just looks so elegant
Dude your videos are great, Im just getting back into gunpla after taking acouple years off.(I used to be into it it prettyhard, magazines,GBWC and lots of Facebook groups) your videos get me pumped for it,very entertaining and really informitive. Bandai has really come far with these new kits. This is a great kit, really hoping for a Master Grade.
I would absolutley love to have this kit! I was able to preorder Gundam Aerial, but due to life wasn't able to preorder Lfrith, and it just looks awesome!
This kit has one of the slickest silhouettes that I've seen, would love to get my hands on one
Thank you for offering one of this god-tier kit to the masses who are still waiting. I would love to have one!
Love the look of this kit, really excited for the anime and that prologue made me cry. Would love to get this and the aerial
I'm glad Mecha keeps his Sinanju Stein in the fridge to preserve its freshness.
MY DUDE! How dare you start with that clip! I was not ready!
That backpack fashion show was hella extra, I love it!

"A WALNUT"
finally some universal size measurement comparison 👌✨
This month on the 16th was my birthday. I am now 29. Keep doing what you do your the best. ✌️
I adore this color scheme. I love pink and this is the first Gunpla I’ve seen that pulls off pink imo. Sign me up for this giveaway I’d love to add this to my collection!
I'm not a pink fan usually, but dang does it pull out off
Just started my gunpla hobby and it’s a fun way to spend my time
I’m so excited for this series the kits look amazing kind of stunned it’s just a regular release.I’d love to add this guy to the shelf
I've been waiting for this series all year! Those kits look so cool and I want to build one so badly!
Such an eye catching colour scheme, definitely one I need in my collection asap
