Qatar Q-Suite - Business Class as good as First?

- Since its launch in 2017 Qatar's Q Suite has set the standard in international business class. But does it live us to its hype? Is it still as good as it was? Does it really match other airlines' First Class?
These questions will be answered as I revisit the Qatar Q Suite in this business class flight review.
My flight onboard the Qatar A350 from Doha to Adelaide was 13 hours long so plenty of time to experience every luxury that the Qatar Airways Q-Suite has to offer.

I am going to base who I travel with based on the quality of the pyjamas, so far Qantas are in the lead...
Having flown Q suites and first class on another Middle Eastern carrier, I feel Q suite is truly amazing. First class offers better ground service, without a doubt; but unless you’re a big person or wealthy, first class doesn’t offer much more compared to most business classes. Being short - business is perfect for my little legs and wide shoulders!
Finally, been missing your reviews more than ever, I hope we can get back in the skies soon!
I agree that Qatar Airways Business is the best in the skies. It’s way beyond the rest. However, on the last flight I did with them to Europe I used some about-to-run-out points and upgraded to First Class from Melbourne to Doha. And it was even more amazing! You could move in and LIVE in the huge bathroom! The bed was also wonderful. And I loved that there was seating for a visitor in my suite. And the food was sublime. Whichever class, Business or First, it’s Qatar for me. Every time.

My wife and I were in the Maldives in 2019 and it was heaven on earth. I'm thinking about going back in 2022 and stopping in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup. That would be a great chance to fly with QF and, maybe, even get to fly on an A380.

Great review Dennis. We were booked to fly to Europe from AKL in Q Suite but of course got cancelled due to Covid. Absolutely gutted as it looks amazing. Personally I think paying 2 or 3 times the price for First is a waste of money. However they may keep First for those people who have money to waste. I agree about the PJ's!

I have travelled the Q Suites in October 2019, absolutely fantastic, Qatar service, attentiveness is first class, fully recommend to fly with Qatar 🇶🇦
Qatar Airways may have the best fleets, but offers the worse customer service, they have NONE. Try their 24/7 phone, Facebook and Twitter direct messaging and they will not reply while you have purchase their business class tickets and paid extra to select your seats, not many honest reviews anywhere on RUclips by anyone on Qatar Airways.
2021 trip all planned then the Plague broke out. Traveled BC long haul with 3 other top airlines. This time it was Qatar's turn. Doubt I'll make the London Palladium for 30 April. Damn Rona!

Dennis, this may already have been asked, but once travel restrictions are lifted and we get back to it, do you have like a “bucket list” flight you are looking forward too?
This sounds like a paid advertisement for QSuites, but everything you say is absolutely true. I have not flown biz on every airline, but so far QSuites is head and shoulders above anything else I have experienced. I really like that privacy door, which enabled me to quickly change into my Qatar pajamas, which I still wear at home. Other airlines give you PJs, but no place to change into them. I am not about to change my clothes in a tiny restroom, where the pajamas and/or my own clothes are almost certain to touch the floor and/or the toilet.
Just gonna say I absolutely love these videos, they’re so much fun to just sit back and watch, I cannot wait till we can fly again. Keep up the great work Dennis!

Personally I think that Qatar Airways should advertise their Qsuite as a class on it’s own (maybe it’s already the case).
I think it shouldn’t be identified with neither business or first. Since it is probably superior to most other airlines’s business class, but slightly inferior to the regular first class especially in terms of hard product.
Personally, I’m not flying again until there are no masks on passengers or crew. I desire a hot meal in First or Business and not a boxed meal. The lounge needs hot food as well. I’m glad I got many b/class and f/class flights under my belt from 2017-2019 on many top carriers before the virus grounded everything.

This business class rivals, if not beats, most 1st class US flights. Nowadays, there is little difference between 1st and business. Unless you fly Singapore or Ethiad with the open floor or apartment style flying.

I like the Qatar Business Class products. There are no really bad ones apart from the old 2-2-2 configurations. As I travel solo all the time, I always choose a aisle seat. This march, right when COVID came up in Europe, Qatar changed my 787 1-2-1 configuration to 777 1-2-1 Q-suite. Man, this was the most outstanding Business Class experience I ever had. And to be honest - I think this product is as good as some other Airlines First Classes.
The Qatar Airways Q-Suite looks amazing. I have a 'One World Alliance' account. One day I would love to try out the Qatar Airways Q-Suite. I will be able to collect frequent flyer miles for my 'One World Alliance' account.
I was lucky enough to score an award flight on Qatar from KL to Doha in a Q-suite last year. It was my best business class flight ever.

I'm in a very small minority, perhaps all alone: I didn't like the Q-Suite as much as Qatar's previous business class suite. In Nov/Dec 2018 I flew round trip in Qatar business Philadelphia-Bangkok through Doha. On one of the four legs I had a Q-suite. I'm a big guy, both tall and heavy, and I thought the Q-Suite was more cramped; I was considerably more comfortable in the regular business suite. All legs had exemplary service, and all seats had comparable bells-and-whistles (except the door, I guess), but given the choice I'd pick Qatar's regular business suite over the Q-Suite.
I love that they use the Dutch brand, Rituals. It shows that they have put thought into their toiletries. I was very disappointed when Rituals closed down their short lived stores in Australia.
Looking back from the window seat is a deal breaker for me. So no flights on Qsuites for me. Have to go for another airline.
I was literally just about to book with Singapore Airlines when I saw this video. Immediately checked Qatar prices and got a bargain business flight for October from Perth. Very happy!! Thanks for the review!

Could not agree more about the view when you hit the Australian mainland...brilliant...best in flight entertainment ever !! I have a feeling DB that when we get back to "normal" ( God knows when) 1st Class on so many airlines will go !! Qatar have a brilliant Business Class as we have just witnessed...for me that would be enough !! Hope you are well and you and the family and staff are coping during this most awful of times !! The only negative was NO South Australian wine on the drinks list...take off 10 points !! Well done mate !!

After travelling from London to Qatar we were so excited to be experiencing the business class lounge. Our stop over was not long and due to a head wind we arrived early only to be told we would be doing a quick turn around.......so no visit to the lounge. I still haven't recovered from the disappointment. Hopefully my next flight in 2024 will be with Qatar business !
looking at going New Zealand to Europe, business Class, next June, tossing up between Qatar, Singapore or Emirates. Which would you recommend.

As an aside, in the 70’s friends and family flew on RAF planes for family repatriation. All seats faced backwards.....it’s deemed much safer in an emergency landing; you’re thrown backwards into your seat on heavy landing/braking, rather than relying on the passengers perfecting the brace position.
I saved up for a year to fly business class on Qatar Airways B787 from Birmingham (UK) to Doha, but a day before we were supposed to fly the flights got cancelled because of Coronavirus!
I'd have a huge problem with my weight if I were you, mate! In other words, I'm VERY glad I don't get to try all these luxury trips (so I keep telling myself)... :-D
Of course, a First must still be offered ... especially if you see who- or better what all business flies today ... LOL

I , being only USA citizen, have a limited experience with international travel... I located Qatar while price shopping an inexpensive flight to see my fiance. Is economy class onboard safe or easy to fly for the inexperienced traveler? How well marked are international airports for those of us who only speak the English language?
I'm a lover of business and first class flying. Done so many times. Even in the moment, it's seemed unfair. Why? Im convinced the economics of offering such luxuries is possible only due to economy class travel. In the current crisis, the truth of this is blatantly evident. If one is paying for it, fine. If so, then create business class only planes. What? It wouldn't be profitable? Then that proves my point.

A great seat yes, but best in the sky? Singapore’s are wider and more comfortable in my opinion.
Middle East airlines, as well as airports, have had superior service and quality to airports and airlines in the US and Europe, where passengers have been mistreated over the years. In Europe for example, passengers have been mistreated, airports with bad accommodations, there is no place for you to rest unless you pay dearly for the VIP lounges, dirty and smelly bathrooms. Passengers being mistreated at all airports in the X-Ray and Migration sector. European airports have lost respect for passengers who are the ones who pay and maintain the operation of the entire airport infrastructure. Carrissome food and coffee and poor quality and so on.
It’s good but I think they should offer First class for all their airplanes like Emirates
How do the staff feel about kids (9-14 year olds) visiting their parents from Economy to business class?
To me Qatar deserve there no1. spot (SKYTRAX 2021) Together with the a350-1000 -the best!

I tried it 10 month ago - the best business class you can fly - when I can I fly everytimes with Qatar again
I flew the Q suite from Doha to New York on a 777 in 2018 and it was easily the best business class product I’ve ever experienced. I was in my own world and so comfortable and the service and catering were remarkable. I’m flying them again in an A350 in 2 weeks and am very excited!

As someone who travels to Australia as much as possible, I love the feeling as you look down at the flight map and see that you’re making landfall somewhere near Port Headland.
Great shots of the incredible Australian landscape, and the approach into Adelaide made me “homesick.” Ready to come back to SA as soon as I can.

this is not FIRST class and i don't classify it as one . But it is an excellent business class product
